7481  Other / Politics & Society / Re: USA finally approves gay marriage on: June 29, 2015, 08:29:40 PM
USA finally approves gay marriage.  The shocking thing to me is not that it took so long for the bastion of "freedom" to make a decision on the issue, but the fact that the supreme court vote was 5-4.  That means that nearly 50% of our supreme court justices disagree with our constitutional right to freedom of religion.  I find this very worrying, but I guess after the constitution has been gutted the last 10 years or so it should not be too surprising.

Thoughts?

I think the govs. must prohibit marriage. And i'm not talking about gay marriage, i mean, any kind of marriage. We are in 2015 now, people are smarter now and we can see how marriage fail most of times. Enrol with 1 person for your life is not a good idea, life is too short to do that.   Tongue

How do people crack passwords with bitcoin miners lika antminers s5? And how can I prevent my account from being cracked?

Anyone got knowledge of this?

To crack passwords people can use brute force attacks with software like John the Ripper;

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_the_Ripper

and to avoid get cracked you can use a complex password, something like:

I used burpsuite to crack my own account but it only makes 1 guess per second. To see how password cracking works, but i read it does million per second, so it is far away from that.

1/s is really slow = 3600/hour

At last brute force can take for ever if the password is complex. You can find on the net a great common passwords list called mil-dic.txt:

7488  Other / Off-topic / Re: How many Bitcoins are lost forever? on: June 23, 2015, 07:44:45 PM
It will be forever an eternal mystery. My only guess is that it's a lot, lot more than many think.

with a lot you mean the 10% of the total btc? or what % you think is lost?

Is a nice topic, maybe together we can find the way to find a good answer for this.

7490  Economy / Goods / Re: Any interest in cupcakes for bitcoin? on: June 23, 2015, 05:32:52 PM
My girlfriend and I have been thinking about launching a cupcake business for bitcoin. She's been doing cakes, cupcakes, cookies for about 4 years now, until the company she worked for shut down. Just seeing if there would be any interest in this. Average price per cupcake is around $2.65 each, please post any interest, if i see enough, ill help her build a domain and accept btc as a payment option.

Thank you

I really love the idea, we need more people like your wife. That is the best way to incorporate the BTC to the daily life and to local business.  Grin

I'm thinking to start a local food business for bitcoin too, but in my country the people don't have the bitcoin culture, will be hard at the start.
7491  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Carve a private key into a stone? on: June 23, 2015, 05:29:00 PM
I was thinking about long term wallets and how the steel wallets are neat and paper wallets are fine but what about a long term wallet to last for hundreds of years, this lead me to think of ruins and then it went to carved stone. Stone carvings and markings have are able to last an extremely long time as we have seen but has anyone thought about carving their private key into a stone and building it into your house or keeping it in a safe? No need to worry about fire and wearing down wouldn't be a significant issue unless it has a constant erosion variable. This may sound crazy but it just seems like the best long term storage that has proven the test of time through history.

A QR code on Nickel or Gold, as we know, that metals have a slow corrosion, that give them a long live and nickel is really hard,it will support extreme conditions.

Gambling can be a fast way to do it if you have the right luck.

Invest in forex is the sale as gambling you have a chance to win or lose. But forex take more time.

If you find the best way, please let us know, i want to double my money as well Wink
7493  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Do you still really use faucet? on: June 23, 2015, 03:19:28 PM
I know most of you guys really say get free btc for newbies, but you still do it?

If so which ones the best? i plan on getting my nephews to do this for me lol.  Cheesy

Faucets are nice for new users, i think that is the way to get your first btc, but not a way to make money.

Faucets like http://luckybitfaucet.com/, offer a 10% commission for each referral, win on faucets by referals can be much better that filling captchas.
7494  Economy / Gambling / Re: What would the community support in a new Poker Site I'm considering launching? on: June 23, 2015, 03:13:06 PM
I think a true provably fair system for each game played would be nice to have on a poker site, hope you can improve that.

By the way, good luck with your poker site and let us know when it is up to try it.

LuckyBit Breaking News, live from our beloved chatbox

Congratulations To lol

really crazy, like the god of gambling Cheesy
maybe for him it was just a little out of balance that he has or the equivalent of 50k satoshi for him Cheesy

whether at the end he hit x0.2 with maxbet 50btc?
thats insane, who would risk 4000 dollars when you can loose it so easily, most probably he lot as people usually dont stop when they are in profit
50 bitcoin possible for him it is of little value, and there is no problem if it is lost .. but for me it was a very great value, and I would never do that big bet

At last, each one of that bets was like make $10k bets to win $1k on each one. Not a bad deal for the low risk on the line. The lucky shot was the x130 red with max bet, that is the hard one to get. That was a lucky day for "lol"  Grin

7497  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Investing 3,000$ on: June 19, 2015, 03:33:38 PM
I would probably wait at this point to see what Bitmain and Sfards releases in the next couple of months.

Yeah, the S5 is getting old, i'm waiting for the new hardware too.

I see some guys create a chip who can do bitcoin and litecoin mining at the same time. I think that is the future. Is better wait a lil bit and buy when the new hardware came to the market.

7499  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is there any affiliate bitcoin program? on: June 17, 2015, 06:32:02 PM
Is there anysite that offers affiliate program to promote product or service and providing bitcoin for each lead?

Cloud mining, gambling and faucets can offer you won by affiliate. I have some refers on a Dice site and only get the 0.05% of the wager. That mean, if my referral gamble 1 btc, i will get 0.0005 btc.

Different sites offer different referral commission.
7500  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bots vs. Humans - What's better for a signature campaign? on: June 17, 2015, 01:28:36 PM
I've had some experience with the Bitmixer bot and it definitely seemed that using a bot made things much easier for the operator. Despite (or perhaps due to) the fact that almost everything was automated, most of the participants there were quite satisfied with the campaign and everything worked fairly smoothly. Other campaigns (which I won't mention here) also use similar bots but it seems their experiences weren't quite so trouble-free.

Bots are probably cheaper, I would assume, since there is no need to pay for a separate campaign manager. Bots on the other hand are probably easier to take advantage of as well. And even with a bot, a little bit of work might still be required for checking posts, making adjustments to the bot, responding to queries, etc.

Which one do you think is better for managing a signature campaign? And when choosing a signature campaign to join, which option would you personally prefer?

EDIT: Added a poll as per twister's suggestion.

A bot can be great if he can do all the Job. But is hard to trust in a bot for checking posts, i think that is the hard part.

Is the first time i read about bots on the signature campaigns, i like the concept, could be fun to make my own bot for that.

At last i think is better a bot, but a full implemented one, at the point where you only need to send founds and he do all the job  Wink
