7521  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin price prediction website is live on: January 16, 2019, 01:31:17 PM
Is this another way to scam people today? It's seems that you're camouflaging yourself for this sort of website, but asking people to send you money just to cast their votes? What would be the incentive for those who voted? Let me guess... None.
7522  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Must we always Preach about Bull Markets? on: January 16, 2019, 01:14:21 PM
First, there's no so called experts in this field, just like you and me, they're just speculators from the outside, so don't buy what they said, used your common sense. Second, it's obvious that those who are preaching a bull market has some motives behind, most of them have big clients to begin with, so obviously they want they client to make a lot of profits. Third, as a individual crypto investors, those so called "experts" wanted to see their portfolio grow so again, they need to predict that something big will happen so that they can book and maximize profits in the future.
7523  Economy / Economics / Re: Belarus has launched a regulated bitcoin exchange on: January 16, 2019, 12:52:33 PM
You can buy and sell tokens on the exchange both with the help of cryptocurrencies (bitcoin or Ethereum) and for Fiat money (us dollars, euros, Belarusian or Russian rubles). With anonymous crypto-currencies, like Monero, the platform will not work.

It sounds good. A bit shame for not accepting anon coins, but I guess that they don't really know how to properly regulate them yet.
Also Belarus, while for me at least is unexpected, it has a nice position between Russia and Western Europe, so it can easily facilitate money/wealth/value transfer between both.

Let's see how it goes, for now, as a news, it's nice.

Belarus has been friendly to crypto:

https://news.bitcoin.com/crypto-business-is-now-legal-in-belarus/

So I'm not surprised by this news at all. Maybe the government's motivation is really to attract a lot of investors to their country, and just like you said facilitate money transfers all across Russian and the rest of Western Europe, win-win situation. And as the article has noted, they wanted to change the perception about their country so this is one way to attract businesses specially crypto is really booming in the last couple of years.
7524  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My Own Gambling Strategy on: January 16, 2019, 12:42:12 PM
I dont know if you do this strategy on your betting game but if it is then good job. Its not about hacking the system of the house because its almost impossible to do and you cant win from them. Its about how to increase the possibility of getting home having a pocket full of money. So here it is.

1.) set aside a capital you can lose. Its upto you. If you lose it all of a sudden then youre such an unlucky man, you are helpless. Just Kidding. If its gone then go home. Try again if you have extra.

Or just bring enough money in your pocket if you're going to a landbased casino, just be sure to have something for your taxi going home as well.

2.) lets say you win, set aside your capital if possible. If not, take 10% of every win in your pocket. With this you can go home with money even just coins. Not bad.

Yes, for a controlled gambler, this is a good strategy. Just step aside your capital and then just play with your winnings the next day or when you feel like to. Others though I know bought something out of their winners. So it's really up to you.

3.) in every loss, lower your bet so you can have more chances of winning again. If you bet all your money on one single bet and lose, then you know whats next. Go home lonely.

This is very hard though, specially if you're in a winning streak. It's hard to control how much you're going to bet because you wanted to recover what you have lost in short amount of time. Again, for a gambler who can control their emotions, might be easy, but for those gambling addicts, this tip won't work, IMHO.

You see, these arent all sure but these are helpful. These hacks are only applicable to you and not the site. If you dont have controll then its nonsense.

Yes, it really boils down on your control and emotions. If you don't have control of it, some of the tips might not work in the long run.
7525  Other / Archival / Re: ICO is looking for a bounty-manager on: January 16, 2019, 12:30:27 PM
Go here: Services and post what exactly you're looking for. Don't be surprise though with the huge influx of applicants specially coming from newbies. Use your better judgement selecting amongst them because I'm sure that there are a lot of scammers trying to get the job and once you paid them, they will just simply disappear.
7526  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-01-15]Bakkt Acquires Certain Assets Of Rosenthal Collins Group on: January 16, 2019, 11:59:34 AM
Wow, Bakkt are going all in on this whole new venture, with no guarantee that the SEC would approve their Bitcoin ETF application. I hope they have alternative opportunities for these assets, if this application is denied too. CNN reported that the US government would only give closure on these applications in April 2019 now, so Bakkt are placed on hold again.  Roll Eyes

Or maybe they're sending signals that the company is ready or Bakkt is perhaps anticipating the approval coming from CFTC. So if everything goes in their way, they are all set and ready to serve its customers. But then again, we really don't know what's the final decision, it might get delayed again. So its better for us to prepared for the worse situation and not fully rely on something we can't control at this point.

7527  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Short now = make lots of money? on: January 16, 2019, 11:41:50 AM
Hi,

I have no experience short selling but I debate shorting now. Good idea? Anyone with experience? BTC seems overbought...

LOL, if you don't have the experience to back it up then I suggest you stay away. You will hear a lot of traders shorting, but it doesn't mean that they're taking profits like every other days. It takes years of experience to short, so it's not easy as it sounds. BTC overbought? Where did you get that idea that it's overbought at this juncture?

I'll just advise you to really learn how trading works, it looks like you don't have any idea base on how you describe Bitcoin market though. You need to understand what shorting really means and the risk involved on doing it, IMHO.
7528  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 16, 2019, 11:26:55 AM
I'm watching the live score on Murray vs Bautista and it seems that he went 2 sets down but recovered and won the next 2 sets. Just amazing though. But it looks like he is out of steam right now as the score is 5-1 in favor of Bautista. He is on the brink of losing this game, so there's no fairy-tale ending for Andy in Australian Open.

~ snip ~

Very true my friend, the same can be said for Nadal as we have seen him fight on many times when getting an injury during a match or going into a match with an injury.

Thiem had a tough 5 set match yesterday, he looked set to win it in 3 sets but Paire fought back in the third set and won. Thiem had to fight in this match and was lucky to win it. As we know he isn't all that good playing on hard courts which is something he needs to work on. I'm not sure if he will make it to the quarter finals this time. Djokovic had an easy win against Krueger in 3 sets and Raonic won his match against Kyrgios in straight sets. The serving in this match was amazing to watch with both players but Raonic was just too good for Kyrgios on the night. Mentally Kyrgios doesn't seem to be right as during the match you could see he wasn't focused which is something he still needs to work on if he is to be a top player, he will now drop in the rankings after losing in the first round which could see him miss out on the Masters tournament series.

Sad day for Australian tennis then, it looks like four of them bowed out of the tournament this early. How about the Hewitt-Tomic fued though? I wasn't aware of it, until I read it somewhere. Is Australian tennis that bad when Hewitt took the helm? Or those young prospects doesn't like the way Hewitt handles them in Davis Cup?
7529  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the main problem with the crypto market at the moment? on: January 16, 2019, 11:15:10 AM
Hi,
According to you what do you think is the main problem at the moment in the crypto world?
So why we don't see real life adoption yet and so on.

According to me the answer is simple. People from the general public treats crypto as a new style high risk gambling. They don't take it seriously.

I wouldn't say it like that. Everyone investors knows the risk involved, not just in crypto but the rest of other investments portfolio, stocks, golds, it involved risk. The problem is that investors think that crypto is a get rich scheme, specially what we witnessed at the end of 2017. And when they got burned in 2018, they all bitch around because they got burned easily and doesn't want to take that risk anymore.

Yes, I agree with the FUDster but you can go and counter them and not to listen and used your better judgement. Again, it boils down to investors, specially newbies you can jump in and FOMO'ed without analyzing or studying how the market functions.

Adoption may come eventually, but it will take like 5 years to fully grasp how everything works and maybe we can see people realized that, and start to embrace crypto in general, not just individually, but governments around the world slowly adopting it.
7530  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do some people refuse to accept bitcoin? on: January 16, 2019, 11:05:06 AM
Ignorance. Majority didn't know what Bitcoin or crypto is all about. And then there's the media who keeps on floating negativity about the ecosystem. You will hear them saying that it is big "Ponzi scheme", or it's "fraud" or something. That's why I totally stop promoting or even mentioning about crypto to some of my friends, I want them to learn it first hand by investing on it and see how it goes for them. Of course the risk involved is very high as well, so there are people who don't like to involved themselves wherein there's no guarantee returns, they might as well invest on bank notes or mutual funds. But for us, this is not the case though, we all know that crypto is the future and the chance to make lots of money in the future is worth the risk.
7531  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Addiction Stories and Possible Solutions on: January 15, 2019, 01:04:13 PM
I recently heard a story about Gambling addicts from a worker who works as a manager on the floor. They are the ones who check and manages tables, and they are the one to approve different kinds of transactions there.

Anyways, it's about a person who is an addict who isn't going anywhere. He said that in his shift, let's say it's the morning shift, he saw the person there, playing. Nothing out of the ordinary, but when my friend says he is going out of his shift, he is still there, the player, so, at that time, it's quite okay because it's just almost 8 hours. When he came back the next day, that same guy with the same clothes is still there.

I don't know if you have been in a casino before, but I would say that I witnessed a lot of those people. Same clothes, same person. You can even hear other addicts telling stories that they just go home took a a nap and back to the casino's. LOL.

Just a reminder that there are people who really need help, but not interested in helping themselves.

For me there's always a solution for addicts, but first they really need to admit themselves that they're really hook so that they will understand how people think about them. But it's going to be difficult for a addict to self-admit, unless it's too late. So I guess someone really close like a family member should talk to them and get out from their gambling addiction.
7532  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BEARISH MARKETS on: January 15, 2019, 12:43:31 PM
Seven months ago, the OP is just asking if we're going to be in the bear market for the next three months, unfortunately, it even goes beyond 2018 so we can assume that no one really know when this bear market will end. So everyone really need to affect that fact and it can even go further as the we don't see anything that will change the sentiments of the market this quarter. Although there is the Bakkt and ETF, but it's beyond our control so I will just advise to learn to adjust and be flexible, or better not to trade if you're not comfortable with the current situation.
7533  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 15, 2019, 12:31:12 PM

At moments I thought he is faking his injury (not faking it but not affected so much), it really surprised me to see him moving so well corner to corner but in later stages of the match he was outlasted by Spaniard. Andy needs more fitness and he can be ready/competitive for Wimbledon.

Most of the times, top level athletes can really tap on their pscyhe so really perform at high levels despite the injury they feel or have just like what Andy shows in this match. Down 0-2, but we immediately got his second win and that spirit to try to overcome the odds and he almost did. But obviously, in the fifth set, he can't no longer rise to the occasion as his body really give up and can't take the pain (or joy). He is just awesome though, so let's see him in Wimbledon for his farewell match.
7534  Economy / Marketplace / Re: LV Handbag 1:1 replica for 89 waves, on: January 15, 2019, 12:18:56 PM
Do you know the price of authentic one. It is 3000 USD...

LOL. Are you encouraging people to buy fake ones? If I can't afford something, then I won't buy it simple as that. I don't like to be a wannabee and be a poser. Yeah its tempting because it cost less, but how about the quality? can it last like the original? For me it's just a waste of money buying counterfeit products, not my type.
7535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquaio vs. Adrien Broner on: January 15, 2019, 11:53:28 AM
Continuing on the link Kemarit shared, Pacquiao, Mayweather come face to face at Clippers game. Read the comments about the news.

https://www.boxingscene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=803493

The posters there are into boxing more than the average fan, I reckon. But a greater part of their comments do not want Floyd versus Manny 2.

Does that imply that such an event is not ready?

Not everything are published in the internet, those are inside talks that we do not know and with a big money involve, I doubt both parties are not interested to make this fight happen again. I'm pretty sure that there will be a Pacquaio vs Mayweather 2 and it's going to be realize soon, most likely this year and I have already thought of putting my money on Pacquaio despite the fact that he is an underdog for this fight.
We all know that Pacquiao is deserving to have a rematch against Floyd Mayweather the only problem is Mayweather isn't done hyping it up so there's that big money coming in, his fight against Tenshin Nasukawa didn't really add up to his fame anymore and the only thing makes him happy is the money behind it. The rematch may not be a reality anymore as I have seen news that Mikey Garcia is showing an interest against fighting Pacman himself and this will also be an interesting match to see if this happens.

I disagree, we do not know that. This is the fight where we can estimate if Manny is indeed deserving for a money fight against Floyd Mayweather. Floyd is undefeated, he is also considered to be greatest pound for pound boxer. He makes the decisions, not Manny. Manny does not deserve anything from Floyd unless he defeats Adrien Broner unanimously.

I think Manny deserves the rematch if he won the fight against Horn, however, we know what happen to that fight although Manny rebounded with a spectacular win against Lucas last year, he still needed to win against Broner this Sunday. Winning will definitely put Pacquiao on the discussion again for a possible rematch and I don't think that they have any hurdles regarding the negotiations because Manny is now under Al Haymon. So let's see how Manny perform, sometimes boxers gets old overnight, (like Dela Hoya) so we do hope that he is still the Manny we all love to see in his prime.
7536  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-01-14]Reserve Bank of India Forces Customers to Abandon Dealing with Crypt on: January 15, 2019, 11:32:35 AM
Here we go again with the Indian Government (RBI) sending mix signals to its citizens and even the world of cryptocurrencies. I really thought this was over by now when I read the news about the Indian Goverment formed a committee who is in favor of legalizing cryptocurrencies in their country. This RBI really has to stop being part of any of the new committees by now as they are really going against other departments who are in favor of other currencies being used in their country. Those who are in the higher ups should be concerned about the progress of this situation as they are just wasting time and money for a one messed up department.

Exactly, I thought that India suddenly made a U-turn a few months ago and change their tune. And now this news? LOL. I guess India is still in the middle as far as being friendly to crypto's. So I would take any news coming from them with a grain of salt, unless someone really confirm what's really going on with them. Of course everyone is really hoping for a good news, but I wouldn't be surprised if they change their tune again in the next coming months and started to be hostile to Bitcoin and crypto in general.
7537  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this a new BIG BTC buy signal??? on: January 15, 2019, 11:20:46 AM
Nah, I'm not buying this news. Why would Russia put all their money in Bitcoin? just to hedge because of the economic sanctions from the West? LOL. I'm sure his advisors know how volatile crypto market is, and the risk is higher so I doubt that a country will just go and say "let's go full crypto" today and wait till the price goes up in the future.

You really need to read between the lines with crypto media nowadays, because everything that is reported is like to sway the minds of investors to invest or worst, to panic sell. For me this is just a rumor and nothing else.
7538  Economy / Economics / Re: Blockchain Adoption Is Pushing Up Salaries for Related Jobs on: January 15, 2019, 11:02:31 AM
Yes, I even reply to this thread: (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5094736.0)

It says that the salary can range from $80,000-$200,000 so I guess we're going to see a lot of Blockchain related jobs in the future as companies are experimenting with this new technology. And I'm sure that we're also going to see courses being offered in Universities as well. So it's going to be interesting how students will react to the demand, will they shift and adopt just like what we see when Information Technology boom in early to mid 90s? (at least in my country), remains to be seen.
7539  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: HITBTC in problems ??? on: January 15, 2019, 10:51:36 AM
HitBTC is one of the top 10 exchange according to daily trading volume. I hasbeen use it for a few years and they working well so far. If you have any question and problem you can ask in their new telegram official to get faster respon.

Even if HitBTC is on the top 10 exchanges according to you, it doesn't mean that they can't be a shitty exchanges. You can go around the forum and I'm sure you will find a lot of accusations against them. How did you know that you can get a faster response from the supposedly official telegram? Have you tried it? How fast is the response?

Again, you have a good experience with them so far, but it doesn't discount the fact that many of us here has been screwed one time or another by this exchange so I'm totally out of that trading platform for good. Goodluck to you and I hope that one day we won't see you opening threads and bitching around this community because you lost your coins at this exchange.
7540  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquaio vs. Adrien Broner on: January 14, 2019, 12:25:10 PM
Haven't check the bookies, but I'm not surprised by the odds on Manny. Everyone expects him to win, so it's hard not bet against him, but I will pass, just probably enjoy the fight if I had the chance to see it live, more interested on Manny vs Money Floyd though.
Manny is still the favorite because he has a big fan base and they are not actually looking that Manny can also loss like what happen in his past fights. If this fight will go 12 rounds I think I will take a chance to bet on the Draw, such a good odds and it's possible. $100 will win $2000 if you are lucky.
Here are the odds of some of the bookies - coming from this source .
-snip-

I don't go with your prediction that if this match goes 12 rounds it will draw, for me if this match finished with 12 rounds it might favor for Manny Pacquiao. This is like Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquaio, that the only way to defeat Mayweather is to knock him out.

You mean to say Broner needs to knock out Pacquiao in order to win? Yeah, I would agree with that idea because we all know that Pacquiao has all the tools to win against him and we can even see Manny knocking Broner out like what he did against Lucas Matthysse. Less than a week, training has unwind but strategies are still in the works, that's for sure.
