7561  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will an increase in bitcoin price affect the gambling industry on: March 13, 2019, 04:46:03 AM
As we all know the value of bitcoin are down but we are still optimistic about the price bouncing back.
Am new to bitcoin sportbook I just want to ask what would change if bitcoin increases

Gambling with cryptocurrency is more of a risk as your cashing out via bitcoin keeps you at a 50/50 chance on benefiting from bitcoin price gain or losing to it price lost. If the price of bitcoin increasing the change will be, the massive profit made from holding the bitcoin you won before the sudden price spike (when it comes) and more gamblers will pick interested in cryptocurrency related gamble houses.
7562  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: INFOGRAPHIC: Most Common Sports Betting Terms Every Beginner Should Know on: March 13, 2019, 04:40:51 AM
Very useful infograph op, there where some terms in the infographic that I haven't heard although I'm still a newbie when it come to gambling so maybe that could be the reason of not coming across those terms. I focus more on football betting that's where I got some skills in predictions as pass history with current team form plays a major past in the outcome of the games.
7563  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin has no practical use and could be damaging to the economy! on: March 13, 2019, 04:35:02 AM
can only give damage to the global economy.

This is where their fear is at, not that it'll spoil the economy generally but it will expose their scammy practice. They're just scared of bitcoin because it has the power to disrupt their businesses and the scam called fiat currency. I bet this was a paid article with an intention to creation FUD to their readers. He speaks about bitcoin been a currency without a country, Is he forgetting about gold or oil  we're in the information ages where the world is now connected you don't have to own anything before you can use them (just like the internet)
7564  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading with crypto or fiats? the right one? Your experience? on: March 12, 2019, 09:18:45 PM
There's nothing bad in wanting to earn from both ways and I'll seize the opportunity to do so whenever I see one. You have to understand fiat earning are fixed meanwhile bitcoin (cryptocurrency) earnings aren't fixed. You friend can make $100 and you make $70 but in bitcoin. That your friend will always have $100 but you stand the risk of your gain depreciating or appreciating in price. A trade with cryptocurrency can also be considered as an investment. It doesn't not matter if you trade with Fiats or cryptocurrency, just make profit and move on.
7565  Other / Meta / Re: [CLUBS] Top Merited-Users Classified into 4 Clubs on: March 12, 2019, 05:46:26 PM
HONOURABLE TOP MERITED-USERS

I classify forum users into five clubs:
(1)   250 merits-earned
(2)   500 merits-earned
(3)   1000 merits-earned
(4)   Above 2000 merits-earned

Any recommendations will be highly appreciated!

I'll like to acknowledge the fact that I have joined the very first club "250 earned merit" . Although it took me some time but I have now earned 250+ since the introduction of the merit system and after an initial airdrop of 10 merit was received as a member ranked user back then (2018).

So now that I am a member of this elite club, what are the benefits, any special privileges lol?
7566  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: List of African Bitcoin & Cryptocurrency businesses / services on: March 11, 2019, 10:26:42 PM
thanks d5000, +1merit (owe you more though) love when positive things about Africa are been showcase to the world. Although luno is a South Africa based exchange it has her biggest trading volume from Nigeria as the no1 in Africa based on trading volume. Bitcoin/blockchain is been welcomed in Africa mostly by the citizens my thread: The used of Bitcoin in Africa speaks more on that. I'll love to see this list always kept up-to-date. Keep up the good work.
7567  Other / Meta / Re: ★ Benefit of Merit Competition on Signature Campaign ★ on: March 11, 2019, 08:33:32 PM
As you see - It turned out that not all 60 participants of the campaign are users from the first 60 or even the 100 most merited users.

Wonderful statistics you wrote there, it gives a sign of hope any of the newly promoted snr member rank users might get a chance of getting accepted. No doubt the campaign is a strong one and been given the opportunity to promote along side other reputed members will be a honor given to who ever is acceptable.
7568  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to avoid getting suspended on Twitter when performing Twitter bounties. on: March 11, 2019, 08:02:18 PM
Most times the cause of suspension of twitter account is due to the Apps we give permission into our accounts

Quote
I gave up on Twitter and the account too. I got fed up of the stress

Have you tried revoking those automated API apps you linked to your account when participating in the bounty campaigns? One of the major reasons account get suspension is due to the App will give access to our account. Majority of these app tweet without your knowledge and something even after you're done with your bounty and don't revokes the app, Twitter spam bot keeps reading your likes and retweets as spam promoted via those app
7569  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What do you think is the most surprising thing in the History of Bitcoin? on: March 11, 2019, 07:44:41 PM
I think what surprises me the most about bitcoin is the way it gave rise to thousands of other cryptocurrencies, the bitcoin was number one and with time it's growth and development gave ruse and birth to over 3000 other alternative coins.

3000+ shitcoins you mean lol. Actually the bitcoin we know never had in mind to produce such low alternative coins like most of them we have today. These coins and mostly tokens came into existence due to their greed (selfish interest) and scam intentions. I wasn't surprised of so many (wanna be bitcoin) coins/tokens coming into existence to feed off bitcoin's hype but I'm surprised people were fooled enough to fall victim on several  occasions to their scam.
7570  Economy / Economics / Re: Can bitcoin be worthless? on: March 11, 2019, 07:28:43 PM
Can bitcoin be worthless, yes it can but that shouldn't be much of a concern as the possible for that to happen is at it's minimum. Bitcoin isn't like your average fait currency, it has a limited supply of just 21million in a world which population is over 9billion. The price cost of one bitcoin should be of a concern instead of the worthlessness of bitcoin.
7571  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Facebook Gambling??? on: March 11, 2019, 06:47:18 PM
I won't be surprised if soon to be created facebook coin can be used to gamble. Take a good look at facebook gaming options you'll notice majority of them are somehow related to gambling that means facebook management see no harm in advertising gamble games, it's just business and more money for MARK.
7572  Other / Serious discussion / Adulthood is a scam, wish I could stay young forever on: March 10, 2019, 07:28:47 PM
It has been just 6 years (18-23) into my adulthood and I'm already regretting growing up. Don't get me wrong, it feels great been able to take decision on my own without been yelled at but why does being an adult feels this hard. Things I could do before I could no longer do them as I need to adjust to being called an adult. Back in the days I could manage equivalent $300 for weeks but now it finishes even before I received it. The expenses is just too much. Being an adult kinda sucks. Tell your kids growing up let them not get too excited, adulthood is just a scam. You get enslave to expense. Although you can help ease the pain by planning their future and what better way to do that then educating them on bitcoin and start hoarding coins for them.
7573  Other / Meta / Re: ★ Benefit of Merit Competition on Signature Campaign ★ on: March 10, 2019, 08:13:18 AM
I also believe that if a project get well response from bitcointalk signature campaign then managers reputation grow dramatically.

The campaign manager then benefits due to feedbacks and forum recognition but have you considered the profit of the project been advertise, don't forget the fund aren't coming from the campaign manager so if you're advocating for merit competition just to benefit them you're doing it all wrong besides if such competitors are to be adopted officially some rules needs to be put in place to provide fair chance for all participants. Merit earned within a week doesn't automatically showcase quality produce for that week. Example for the pass few days I have been getting merited for post I wrote since February and if I was to be in such campaign offering merit competition I would had won.
7574  Other / Meta / Re: Self made sr. member not being a pro in the cyrpto field ... on: March 10, 2019, 06:26:10 AM
And there certainly are others who've earned a lot of merits very quickly (Coolcryptovator, cryptobraineurboss, CryptopreneurBrainboss and others) without English being their first language.

Aww that's nice of you to notice me even without starting a thread to congratulate myself. Although you misspelled my name, could this be cause by the lack of we encountering ourselves on threads regularly lol. You need to keep a tag on beginner and help board Phar, the board is clean 99% of spammers and interesting disscussion are attracting new merit sources like Suchmoon, Welsh, dbshck etc. They boosted me.

OP congratulations on your achievement but don't relax because where the challenges lies is in ranking up to Hero member only (deserving) users achieve that rank. I was to use this stats gotten from DdmrDdmr for my upcoming topic but stopped.

Statistics for users that ranked up from newbie, Jr, member, full member and snr member to Hero rank.

This is a screenshot from the BitcoinTalk Merit Dashboard:

What it shows is that:
From newbie to snr member then to hero member: 0 (I may be the first in a couple of months)
From jnr member to snr member then to Hero member: 0
From member to snr member then to hero member: 4 (names on Dashboard)
From full member to snr member then to hero member: 10 (names on Dashboard)
From Sr. member to hero member: 22 (names on Dashboard)

Aside from that, the Merit Dashboard tab called “Ranking-up pipeline” shows that:
-   1.200 Sr. Member could have ranked-up to Hero, but lack the Merits.
-   16 Sr. Member could have ranked-up to Hero, but lack activity.
-   5 Sr. Member are near to ranking-up to Hero, but lack activity and merit (need less than 20% more on both accounts).
-   798 Sr. Members lack both activity and Merits (in greagter than 20% on both accounts).

7575  Other / Meta / Re: ★ Benefit of Merit Competition on Signature Campaign ★ on: March 10, 2019, 12:31:27 AM
I think if other managers follow this strategy by putting bonus stake for constructive users then it will encourage community users to make quality posts.

Actually this isn't new and other campaigns are doing the same. But when you come to think of the extra fund involved you won't have to blame the campaigns not engaged in such practice of rewarding extra ordinary poster as most of them aren't paying that much talk more of adding extra expense.

Quote
In one side its creating competition among participants to make quality post for achieving bonus. On the other hand forum will get quality posts, unique ideas and obviously going to the next level.

Aren't you forgetting the third possible scenario, it can also lead to merit abuse and spamming for merit just to get bonus.

In conclusion we shouldn't pressure any campaign or campaign manager into promising a bonus they can't fullfil since extra fund is involved and current market situation isn't favoring most projects.
7576  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there some new methods for earning bitcoins? on: March 09, 2019, 10:25:56 PM
So, is there any good new method for newbies, and is the mining still profitable?
Thanks

Mining can still be considered profitable for short term seekers although the real gain are made in long term. Most of the best profit are made when the average bitcoin user consider mining as unprofitable because in future those mined coins will fatch you massive profit.

Considering the ways of earning bitcoin, I don't think we have any new profitable way (I stand to be corrected) although I still consider trading as a good way of earning bitcoin as far you can master the skills and have a little bit of luck on your side.
7577  Other / Meta / Re: [LOG] The ranked up members - Congratulations! on: March 09, 2019, 06:31:49 PM
Congratulations to CryptopreneurBrainboss who got promoted to full member with me, but got to Sr.Member way before me!
Congrats!

Thanks mate, no worries you have just less than 40merits to go hopefully you'll achieve it in no time. I wish you the best. If there was anything worth bragging about on forum I think ranking up is one of them. I feel like the luckiest user on Bitcointalk this year ranking up from member to snr member in under 2+months and getting accepted into my very first campaign via 1st application by a Reputed campaign manager. I'm enjoying my stay here and hope it stays this way for a very long time.

Below was my motivation and its still is. I guess ranking up to Hero member is where more work needs to be done to proof you deserve such high rank as only few achieve that rank.

You were fast enough. Well done.

Thanks mate.  After I discovered the secret, everything became easier . If you desire to rank up, all you have to do is post with quality as well as keep a decent post history and seizing every opportunity you get. Ranking up was among one of my goals of 2019 and I'm glad I could achieve it in the first month. Writing out my goals also motivated me you should do the same too.

7578  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This forum has so many gambling addicts on: March 09, 2019, 05:10:53 PM
They aren't addicts, if they were then you won't see them on forum more often. Most of them are just pretenders and many of them are only here to meet their post count. Take a good look at their replies most time you will get a hint that they don't have an idea about gambling. I do gamble occasionally so am not an addict.  The forum is filled with gamble lovers not addicts
7579  Economy / Economics / Re: DYOR before joining!!!!!!!!!!!!!! on: March 09, 2019, 03:10:26 PM
Everyone says DYOR but lets be honest, most people will do better by listening to advice from others.

I see some truth in your statement but when you come to think of it, the reason the saying "Do your own research" is highly encourage is because this days you won't know who to trust. You speak of them been better off listening to advice from others, the same "others" that get paid to promote a particular token or those hired to hype some wanna be shitcoins calling it the main or next bitcoin?. I still feel you'll be far better doing your own research. When you DYOR and pick the right coin/tokens to invest in and profit, you succeed and if you pick the wrong ones and loss, you learn and move on. Although you are far better sticking to investing in bitcoin to avoid falling victim to those scam projects out there.
7580  Other / Meta / Re: DT members - ethical to sell DT services? on: March 09, 2019, 02:55:55 PM
Aren't gambling signatures from DT members an indirect recommendation of a specific gambling website ?

Technically they are although lets not forget, DT members are also forum users and should be allowed to benefit from wearing a signature. Those campaign didn't reserve a special bonus for been a DT member or leaving reviews, the DT members applied themselves to promote the project therefore they aren't buying the trust of DT members.
