7561  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Version 2 of transaction on: May 12, 2016, 02:12:13 PM

Version 1 was introduced in the genesis block (January 2009).

•Version 2 was introduced in Bitcoin Core 0.7.0 (September 2012) as a soft fork. As described in BIP34, valid version 2 blocks require a block height parameter in the coinbase. Also described in BIP34 are rules for rejecting certain blocks; based on those rules, Bitcoin Core 0.7.0 and later versions began to reject version 2 blocks without the block height in coinbase at block height 224,412 (March 2013) and began to reject new version 1 blocks three weeks later at block height 227,930.

•Version 3 blocks were introduced in Bitcoin Core 0.10.0 (February 2015) as a soft fork. When the fork reach full enforcement (July 2015), it required strict DER encoding of all ECDSA signatures in new blocks as described in BIP66. Transactions that do not use strict DER encoding had previously been non-standard since Bitcoin Core 0.8.0 (February 2012).

•Version 4 blocks specified in BIP65 and introduced in Bitcoin Core 0.11.2
•(November 2015) as a soft fork became active in December 2015. These blocks now support the new OP_CHECKLOCKTIMEVERIFY opcode described in that BIP.

per the Bitcoin Developer Reference
He's taking about the coinbase transaction being version two instead of version one, not the block version.

There of no difference between version one and that transaction that is supposedly version two. It is the same format, just that the miner changed the version number to two. I'm guessing it had to do with a bug in the mining software since the block version number was being bumped to two as well around that time.

Thanks.  I see it now.  I never thought to look at the raw transaction.

I think we should take the best out of all religions.

I think we should take the worst out of all religions... throw it in the trash, and forget about that nonsense

I agree with you Moloch better to take the worst of all religions and remove it to the list. The ones that doesn't even do good.

Atheism.    Cool

If we are going to remove atheism many atheist will complain instead of there belief will be removed and they will say they are not even the worst religion.

Given that atheism is not a religion (or even a belief system), it doesn't belong on a list of religions from which to select your favourite in the first place.  Was it included out of ignorance or to incite debate?

Oh well, let's forgot that about atheism or the atheists thing. There are cults that are saying they are the true religion just like this cult.
The leader thinks that he's Jesus.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2Cv5hZfOmk

The leader knows he's not Jesus; his followers think he is.  It gives them a sense of euphoria and it's cheaper than drugs and possibly healthier too with all the serenity and fresh mountain air.  I imagine a number of those followers would be heavily medicated and languishing in psychiatric hospitals otherwise.

7565  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gift ideas? on: May 11, 2016, 03:25:06 PM
So since mothers day is coming up, I want to give my mother something related to Bitcoin. Now other than the obvious, give her some Bitcoin, I want some cool ideas that aren't that.
It depends on what your mother needs and stuff. To buy something for your mother with Bitcoins is going to be pretty hard. I suggest you buy something with just real money to make it easier for your self.

Nice sig count post!  Mothers' day was last weekend.

You were close enough to snap a few photos but didn't strike up a conversation.  Now you come here posting her photos telling us you will pay $30 to get her name for you?  I hope you are still a child and don't know better - if that's the case, you are acting very strangely and you should delete those images from imgur asap.  If that's not the case, I would rather give you $30 for your name so I can give it to her for the restraining order.

What would you do next, throw all forms of art you don't agree with into the trash?  Then you could move on to trashing all the music, dance, sport and all other things non-scientific.  Why waste our humanity on such trivial pursuits?  Fuck culture, there should be nothing on this earth that can't be rationalized and proven with science. We should apply the scientific method to our every pursuit.  That will solve all worldly problems.  Maybe then we could all get along peacefully (I mean, if there is enough empirical evidence to prove that peace is a desirable outcome).

Wow, guy... you think a lot of crazy shit

Who said any of that?  Not me...

I said we should get rid of the bullshit in religions... like the homophobia, pro-slavery, genocide, magic, etc... remove that bullshit, leaving the good stuff... keep the good stuff

Basically the same thing Thomas Jefferson did with the New Testament...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jefferson_Bible

Quote
The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth, commonly referred to as the Jefferson Bible, was a book constructed by Thomas Jefferson in the later years of his life by cutting and pasting with a razor and glue numerous sections from the New Testament as extractions of the doctrine of Jesus. Jefferson's condensed composition is especially notable for its exclusion of all miracles by Jesus and most mentions of the supernatural, including sections of the four gospels which contain the Resurrection and most other miracles, and passages indicating Jesus was divine.

You didn't have to say any of that.  You're the self-proclaimed arbiter of bullshit.

The problem with projecting... is... you are mad at yourself, not me

I love art, music, etc... why would I want to get rid of any of that?

It's only religion which teaches people to do evil deeds while claiming to be the good guys...

For the most part, music and art are benign, they don't inspire hatred and violence in the way religion does

I'm neither angry with myself nor you, Melek.  I think a lot of crazy shit while you're cutting and pasting religious texts to suit your world view. So, maybe we're both mad?  Speaking of mad,  I would be careful not to let anyone know if you decide to take scissors to the Koran.

7569  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: i want to start mining but have some question on: May 10, 2016, 05:24:42 PM
I wouldn't recommend mining now if you do not have millions of dollars worth of hardware even if you have free electricity. It is no longer profitable for new miners to get in to farm btc, unless you are filthy rich to begin with. If not the other mega farms will simply outline you,and they have already roied many many many times since before you started
im not l;ooking on getting rich with this, im looking to make atleast some money im aiming for like 1500$ per month with 10 antminers s7.. it can be done by this time? if not can u explain me why? since antminer s7 especification say that it will mine 4.7 ht/s..

edit: im not worry about energy crisis, where im planing to put my miners theres no problem with electricity

It's all speculation no one can say a guarantee of getting X per month.  With difficulty changes it can change greatly just look at this period, change may be a good amount (possibly 10 percent).   Also keep in mind having coming up that will cut amount of BTC in half.

Normally I would suggest going in a little slower.   Try 1 or 2 out see how it works with sound/heat/electricity.   And move on from there depending on results.  Do you have electrical set up for 10?  Do you have the PDU's and other equipment there?  Do you have cooling ready?  What is area like you will be putting them in?

I think starting off with 1 or 2 specifically with location would be a smarter bet.
i have the cooling ready, but about shortage and unknow electric problem that there could be, can i fully protect my antminers with UPS? how many UPS i would need? if i got 2 antminers i should get 2 UPS with atlest 1200 wats?

Seriously, you are wasting your money.  Stop.

7572  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [POLL] Do you unconditionally trust your government? on: May 10, 2016, 04:53:03 PM
Haha this is a funny thread. You don't trust your governments but you're all very grateful for your little patch of dirt under the government sun. You guys do realize that you're not born chained to anything right? So you should be able to make your own way, separate from your government's. Truth is you do enjoy some of the things the government throws your way. Give and take relationship remember? They give you something you like but they also take something from you. If what they take from you means a lot to you, then it's probably time you revisit your priorities.

That's a somewhat misguided stance.  In fact, if you were born in a country then that country pretty much owns your ass until you can get some other country to take ownership of you.  Anyway, you are not able to make your own way separate from your governments in any country on this earth without running afoul of their laws.  You can't even have a lemonade stand without your gov't interfering in the USA so what priorities are we going to revisit?  The ones that keep us from breaking existing laws while we make our way on our little patch of dirt under the gov't sun?  You're a funny guy (or gal).

7573  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [POLL] Do you unconditionally trust your government? on: May 10, 2016, 02:36:06 AM
There are over 85,000 levels of government in the USA (not including the shadow types).  Are you referring to one level specifically or government in general?  I unconditionally trust each and every one of them to take more than their fair share of my hard-earned money and waste in on things I couldn't give a shit about.  Aside from that, I would have to say "No" both specifically and generally.

7574  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: i want to start mining but have some question on: May 10, 2016, 01:34:39 AM
According to the news up here in North America, the Venezuelan gov't has instituted a 2-day work week in an attempt to deal with a serious electricity crisis.  Allegedly, 70% of your power comes from the El Guri dam which is suffering a serious water shortage due to the worst drought in 40 years.  Seriously, is it a good time to start mining Bitcoin in Venezuela?  Inflation is spiraling out of control down there (projected to be nearly 500% this yearr!); you'd be better off to simply buy some Bitcoin to preserve the value of your assets while you can still afford electricity.

That's nothing!  Try posting anything in a Butterzone self-moderated thread.
In all seriousness though, mods are doing a good job cleaning up the forum lately.  I wouldn't take it personally if a few of your posts don't pass muster.  It happens to the best of 'em.

7578  Economy / Speculation / Re: Unable to break $400 on: May 07, 2016, 10:13:13 PM
When this thread was started six months ago, the bitcoin price was struggling a lot to reach the $400 level, but nowadays that level was largely passed and the next inflection point seems $500. Even I think it is unlikely to see a retraction to $400 again, at least for this month.

Good point!  Kwuckduck should lock the thread and move it to archival.
7579  Other / Archival / Re: [resolved]betcoin.tm owe me 150BTC, and got problem with withdrawal[resolved] on: May 07, 2016, 07:36:57 PM
hello guys!
these days i have deposit 100BTC in betcoin.tm chinese vesion caishentang.com, and luckily i won 50BTC
i know a lot of ppl will ask me why deposit so much btc in that website
actually i was cheated by post of forum and i saw the website is beatiful and has several languages
that makes me feel it is real, since i have played a lot of time before in some other gambling websites
and had no problem with big amount withdraw, thats why i trusted them, i thought they are bigger than it is.

last night after i win 50btc, i started to withdrawal 125BTC, then comes the problem.
it is kinda telling me waiting , the withdrawal is pending kinda shit
after my insist the support told me they will call me in chinese time 6pm today
but at that time i received no calls, then i begun to talk to the support again

the support telling me leaving a number and call me later, i told to them that i have already left my number yesterday
and i cant repeat all the leaving my number and nobody call, so i insisted to wait his reply online
after my insist, they say they are going to check my bets
half hour later the support told me that they suspect that i bet both side(i dont know how call it in english)
and my BTC is locked in ASIA GAMING(a live casino solution provider), and need check my bets
instantly i contact to AG, they told me that they dont have the access to block the funds of their partners, which proved what i was thinking
then i made screenshot and sent to them, i said im going to post in bitcointalk
suddenly, they say there will be a guy that is going to call me

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

by the time i wrote this topic, the guy called me.
he says AG suspect that i bet both side
he is going to deal with that, the earliest time could be within 3 hours
and if they cant take out any prof
the will send my 150BTC to me before next monday 12pm beijing time GTM+8

i will keep this topic updated, hope they can give me back my money

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

LATEST UPDATE

thx guys, my problem is resolved
after one hour they called me, they sent me all the bitcoin and 5BTC more for apologize for the invovenience

i have serched the forum last night and found a lot of scam report about the website
which made me very nervous
but it turns to be good now, maybe because of my insist or maybe they are legit website
in my case, the thing ended perfectly
thank you all ,good luck

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
do you think they are that stupid to hire a guy and create a new account
post his problem and get problem resolved that quickly?
you can doubt it, but anyway, i've got my BTC

i think my insist made them no chance to delay
i contacted to AG support, they also helped me to contact the site
besides, this is diffrent from other scam reports
i played in chinese vesion caishentang.com, i didn't apply for any bonus, and i played bacarrat of AG but not their own games

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I dont know why you ppl always love judge with instinct not brain
i dont want to sent you PM, but i cant reply message in this topic, maybe because my aacount lvl,
but since you asked that's why i send PM to you
i know what's txid now, i did now, but didnt know the name
Im going to paste txid here for a couple of hours

[deleted]

if this helps you to check if im true, do it, i dont work for the fcking website
i post this topic at first for help, but i didnt know they react so quick
beside, deposit 100btc to a casino  doesnt need a lot of knowledge of BTC
coz im more a gambler than a geeker

I'm going to need more than a few hours with the txid - I have many errands to do today yet before I can look at it.
A brand newbie account has to wait 6 minutes between posts.

edit: txid pointed to the wrong transaction (I deleted it as well) but was worth ~150BTC.  Found two txids with the same time stamps as the time stamps in the image above for 100 and 55 BTC from the address in the original txid but it looks like you waited ~15 minutes and went right back to gambling.  Anyway, glad you got your coins from them.

... relax duckie. if you just hold your coins for the long term then you will also make a good bit of profit...

I don't think he has any coins to hold. Didn't he sell them all for $10?

No no!  Kwuckduck just got 0.025 BTC in a giveaway thread and it seems he's hodling!
