7581  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Facebook Gambling??? on: March 11, 2019, 06:47:18 PM
I won't be surprised if soon to be created facebook coin can be used to gamble. Take a good look at facebook gaming options you'll notice majority of them are somehow related to gambling that means facebook management see no harm in advertising gamble games, it's just business and more money for MARK.
7582  Other / Serious discussion / Adulthood is a scam, wish I could stay young forever on: March 10, 2019, 07:28:47 PM
It has been just 6 years (18-23) into my adulthood and I'm already regretting growing up. Don't get me wrong, it feels great been able to take decision on my own without been yelled at but why does being an adult feels this hard. Things I could do before I could no longer do them as I need to adjust to being called an adult. Back in the days I could manage equivalent $300 for weeks but now it finishes even before I received it. The expenses is just too much. Being an adult kinda sucks. Tell your kids growing up let them not get too excited, adulthood is just a scam. You get enslave to expense. Although you can help ease the pain by planning their future and what better way to do that then educating them on bitcoin and start hoarding coins for them.
7583  Other / Meta / Re: ★ Benefit of Merit Competition on Signature Campaign ★ on: March 10, 2019, 08:13:18 AM
I also believe that if a project get well response from bitcointalk signature campaign then managers reputation grow dramatically.

The campaign manager then benefits due to feedbacks and forum recognition but have you considered the profit of the project been advertise, don't forget the fund aren't coming from the campaign manager so if you're advocating for merit competition just to benefit them you're doing it all wrong besides if such competitors are to be adopted officially some rules needs to be put in place to provide fair chance for all participants. Merit earned within a week doesn't automatically showcase quality produce for that week. Example for the pass few days I have been getting merited for post I wrote since February and if I was to be in such campaign offering merit competition I would had won.
7584  Other / Meta / Re: Self made sr. member not being a pro in the cyrpto field ... on: March 10, 2019, 06:26:10 AM
And there certainly are others who've earned a lot of merits very quickly (Coolcryptovator, cryptobraineurboss, CryptopreneurBrainboss and others) without English being their first language.

Aww that's nice of you to notice me even without starting a thread to congratulate myself. Although you misspelled my name, could this be cause by the lack of we encountering ourselves on threads regularly lol. You need to keep a tag on beginner and help board Phar, the board is clean 99% of spammers and interesting disscussion are attracting new merit sources like Suchmoon, Welsh, dbshck etc. They boosted me.

OP congratulations on your achievement but don't relax because where the challenges lies is in ranking up to Hero member only (deserving) users achieve that rank. I was to use this stats gotten from DdmrDdmr for my upcoming topic but stopped.

Statistics for users that ranked up from newbie, Jr, member, full member and snr member to Hero rank.

This is a screenshot from the BitcoinTalk Merit Dashboard:

What it shows is that:
From newbie to snr member then to hero member: 0 (I may be the first in a couple of months)
From jnr member to snr member then to Hero member: 0
From member to snr member then to hero member: 4 (names on Dashboard)
From full member to snr member then to hero member: 10 (names on Dashboard)
From Sr. member to hero member: 22 (names on Dashboard)

Aside from that, the Merit Dashboard tab called “Ranking-up pipeline” shows that:
-   1.200 Sr. Member could have ranked-up to Hero, but lack the Merits.
-   16 Sr. Member could have ranked-up to Hero, but lack activity.
-   5 Sr. Member are near to ranking-up to Hero, but lack activity and merit (need less than 20% more on both accounts).
-   798 Sr. Members lack both activity and Merits (in greagter than 20% on both accounts).

I think if other managers follow this strategy by putting bonus stake for constructive users then it will encourage community users to make quality posts.

Actually this isn't new and other campaigns are doing the same. But when you come to think of the extra fund involved you won't have to blame the campaigns not engaged in such practice of rewarding extra ordinary poster as most of them aren't paying that much talk more of adding extra expense.

Quote
In one side its creating competition among participants to make quality post for achieving bonus. On the other hand forum will get quality posts, unique ideas and obviously going to the next level.

Aren't you forgetting the third possible scenario, it can also lead to merit abuse and spamming for merit just to get bonus.

In conclusion we shouldn't pressure any campaign or campaign manager into promising a bonus they can't fullfil since extra fund is involved and current market situation isn't favoring most projects.
7586  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there some new methods for earning bitcoins? on: March 09, 2019, 10:25:56 PM
So, is there any good new method for newbies, and is the mining still profitable?
Thanks

Mining can still be considered profitable for short term seekers although the real gain are made in long term. Most of the best profit are made when the average bitcoin user consider mining as unprofitable because in future those mined coins will fatch you massive profit.

Considering the ways of earning bitcoin, I don't think we have any new profitable way (I stand to be corrected) although I still consider trading as a good way of earning bitcoin as far you can master the skills and have a little bit of luck on your side.
7587  Other / Meta / Re: [LOG] The ranked up members - Congratulations! on: March 09, 2019, 06:31:49 PM
Congratulations to CryptopreneurBrainboss who got promoted to full member with me, but got to Sr.Member way before me!
Congrats!

Thanks mate, no worries you have just less than 40merits to go hopefully you'll achieve it in no time. I wish you the best. If there was anything worth bragging about on forum I think ranking up is one of them. I feel like the luckiest user on Bitcointalk this year ranking up from member to snr member in under 2+months and getting accepted into my very first campaign via 1st application by a Reputed campaign manager. I'm enjoying my stay here and hope it stays this way for a very long time.

Below was my motivation and its still is. I guess ranking up to Hero member is where more work needs to be done to proof you deserve such high rank as only few achieve that rank.

You were fast enough. Well done.

Thanks mate.  After I discovered the secret, everything became easier . If you desire to rank up, all you have to do is post with quality as well as keep a decent post history and seizing every opportunity you get. Ranking up was among one of my goals of 2019 and I'm glad I could achieve it in the first month. Writing out my goals also motivated me you should do the same too.

7588  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This forum has so many gambling addicts on: March 09, 2019, 05:10:53 PM
They aren't addicts, if they were then you won't see them on forum more often. Most of them are just pretenders and many of them are only here to meet their post count. Take a good look at their replies most time you will get a hint that they don't have an idea about gambling. I do gamble occasionally so am not an addict.  The forum is filled with gamble lovers not addicts
7589  Economy / Economics / Re: DYOR before joining!!!!!!!!!!!!!! on: March 09, 2019, 03:10:26 PM
Everyone says DYOR but lets be honest, most people will do better by listening to advice from others.

I see some truth in your statement but when you come to think of it, the reason the saying "Do your own research" is highly encourage is because this days you won't know who to trust. You speak of them been better off listening to advice from others, the same "others" that get paid to promote a particular token or those hired to hype some wanna be shitcoins calling it the main or next bitcoin?. I still feel you'll be far better doing your own research. When you DYOR and pick the right coin/tokens to invest in and profit, you succeed and if you pick the wrong ones and loss, you learn and move on. Although you are far better sticking to investing in bitcoin to avoid falling victim to those scam projects out there.
7590  Other / Meta / Re: DT members - ethical to sell DT services? on: March 09, 2019, 02:55:55 PM
Aren't gambling signatures from DT members an indirect recommendation of a specific gambling website ?

Technically they are although lets not forget, DT members are also forum users and should be allowed to benefit from wearing a signature. Those campaign didn't reserve a special bonus for been a DT member or leaving reviews, the DT members applied themselves to promote the project therefore they aren't buying the trust of DT members.

7591  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2019 icos on: March 09, 2019, 08:07:02 AM
the electricity price in my country is very cheap but i haven't enough money to set up a mining farm, so i want to invest on icos.
which of 2019 icos is your suggestion???

Instead of taking too much of a risk investing in ICOs that majority turns out to be a shitproject (scam), why not invest in already tradable coins that suffered huge price decline due to the bear market. Usually I don't advice buying of altcoin that's if you can afford just one bitcoin you're good but since you don't have the fund. Draft out some spear time, research for those project with real life usage which aren't just hype project and invest in them instead of replying on some random advice on "best project ICO to invest in 2019".
7592  Other / New forum software / Re: Finding an alternate bitcoin forum; is that necessary? on: March 09, 2019, 04:47:43 AM
What makes this forum unique?

Her reputation is what makes Bitcointalk unique. Numerous alternative lookalike forums (don't feel like mentioning names) have be created over the years but none have been able to achieve Bitcointalk success due to the fact Bitcointalk was develop with the intention of providing a forum for bitcoin (cryptocurrency) users to discuss and associate but the newly founded forum were just created to make profit.

Over the years Bitcointalk has house well known game changers in the cryptispace from Satoshi himself to Vitalik , Roger Ver (even though people hate him now) etc. Bitcointalk reputation is what have kept Bitcointalk for 10years and it's still the most popular bitcoin forum without having to carryout online advertisement.

Bitcoin (cryptocurrency) won't have been a success without the contribution of Bitcointalk. Here's why The most iconic bitcointalk threads. History on Bitcointalk..

What changes would you like to see in this forum to make a space for the stream of newbies coming into crypto space?

Be a little less strict towards them. I Believe the forum is losing it's friendliness towards newbies. From history the early forum users always welcome new members and assist in any means they could but this days every newbie is seen as a scammer/spammer untill proven otherwise. I believe the newbies are the future of this forum just as most early user have stopped using forum that's how the current user will stop and we need the newbies to take over. This newbies what they lack is direction and forum should always try her best to accommodate them.
7593  Other / Off-topic / Re: Show prices for goods in various cryptocurrencies for people to get used to them on: March 08, 2019, 09:23:51 PM
can anyone please share 1 merit with me, I need it to participate in a signature bounty......please
Please, just on the topic.

I responded to similar request few hours ago so instead of rewriting here's a qoute from my previous reply. Read through it and you might find the answer to your lack of merit.

(begging for merit) is strongly frown at and might earn you some red trust and possibly end you on must reputed users ignore list. If you feel you deserve some merit based on your previous quality posts that you have contributed to the forum, participate in Giveaways dedicated to helping user within your rank status to rank up.
7594  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What do you think is the most surprising thing in the History of Bitcoin? on: March 08, 2019, 02:11:19 PM
Most surprising thing in bitcoin history for me was the profitability of mining bitcoin.

Has anyone here watched "big bang theory" the bitcoin episode? Although it was just a movie their illustration made me consider the most surprising thing in bitcoin history as the profitability of mining bitcoin. The early miners just did it for fun because technically it had no value. Based on the movie, If I can recall correctly one of the actors told the others "so you mean we get to sit down all day solving mathematical problem and end up with worthless coins we can't spend? Then they replied "Sounds fun".

After watching that movie I came to a conclusion that the early miners that believe in bitcoin to the extent they even mined in losses are the true heros.
7595  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: March 08, 2019, 06:54:37 AM
how can i get merits, anyone willing to give please

Worst decision ever, this act of your (begging for merit) is strongly frown at and might earn you some red trust and possibly end you on must reputed users ignore list. 7596  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: -=< No Guts No Glory! >=- Hodl !!!!! on: March 08, 2019, 06:49:36 AM
Am with you on this one, thanks for the motivation in this time of testing and only those who pass the test of hodling will celebrate when the bull market comes. It doesn't matter how many people started the marathon but those that cross the finish line are those celebrated.  I join you in arguing the newbie to develop a habit of hodling, it does pay.
7597  Other / Meta / Re: It is extremely hard to gain merits on: March 08, 2019, 04:13:03 AM
Wew, you've reached Sr Member before I know it. Congrats!

You got promoted to a Senior Member so fast.
I congratulate you to your new achievement, a self-made Senior Member makes a lot of sense.

Thanks guys, i decided not to start a thread celebrating it. Kinda lost childish to me now as a snr member not saying other shouldn't if they feel like but earning of merit is now like a regular thing just like quoting of my posts. I guess the moment i developed the habit of continuous quality posting the merit started coming in their numbers. January i became a full member and now march snr member, it feels good knowing your effort is been rewarded. I might celebrate it when i get to hero status hopefully before the year ends until then lets keep having fun as we put effort into making the forum better each and everyday with our quality posting.
7598  Economy / Economics / Re: Reason of Next Financial Crisis on: March 08, 2019, 03:49:43 AM
.
I am wondering why people are cheering for it to happen, a financial crisis will never boost the bitcoin market/price as people are expecting, rather it will more destabilize the market.

It might not favour the price of bitcoin directly as every investment and currency will mostly be affected by the crash but It'll lead to people losing faith in the fait currency resulting to them, looking for alternatives and what other option will they have than (bitcoin) cryptocurrency. Sometimes people need to learn the hard way therefore, if another crash of the system will open their eyes so be it.
7599  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2018-2019 on: March 08, 2019, 03:33:51 AM
I love the turnout of the champion league this season, it's getting so unpredictable unlike previous seasons when we knew teams destined to make the quarter finals. I won't be surprise if the next surprising team to dropout will be barca. Tottenham surprised me, I didn't expect them to go this far. The premier league team are making us proud. Anyone having the same feeling like I am? This season, a premier league team is destined to win the champion league.
7600  Other / Meta / Re: Newbies can now pay a small fee to enable images on: March 07, 2019, 09:03:35 PM

Go ahead.  Before you start throwing darts, check some of my post history.  My posts for fulfilling signature requirements are involved and thought provoking, well spoken and easy to read.  You won't find anything interesting in the last two or three weeks as I've taken a break from signatures;

So technically, as you claim you were writing quality post because of signature, no wonder you have such high numbers of Post with little evidence (merit) to show quality. Well I was interested in reviewing your account to give you the 1merit you needed to rank-up but the qouted sentence above discourage me. I wouldn't like to merit someone who takes a break from contributing positively to the forum just because he has stop participating in signatures.

PS. If I encounter your quality posts in future I'll merit them.

About newbies been able to pay to post Image, I think the account created mainly to post project [ANN] which are newbie were put into consideration before this discussion was made.
