761  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency education in high school on: May 02, 2018, 01:15:35 PM
This high school in New Jersey is already teaching its students about cryptocurrencies.

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/02/07/bitcoin-education-at-high-schools-and-colleges.html

I'm getting myself ready now for more 15-year-old cryptocurrency hackers.

Its great to give the idea that this technology exists to minors. This will make their fresh brains fire and create new approaches for blockchain and who knows may solve scalability problem.

763  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: SAFE TRADING METHOD on: May 01, 2018, 10:09:53 AM
You shouldn't use more than 5-10% of your total capital into a trade. In trading, your money can get stuck really fast and you don't want to sit with no money in hand if Bitcoin enters into a bear cycle. Always try to reduce your risks when trading.

I agree, most millionaires like Mark Cuban would tell you only enter 5-10% of the money you have to bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies. And once you've done that you need to consider that that money already has gone.

Well, of course, it is not to say that you do not care about that money anymore because that's still hard earned money. But I guess you get the point.
764  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will happen with Bitcoin if it never scales? on: May 01, 2018, 09:59:53 AM
For me, if scalability is not resolved it will lead to bitcoin being a digital asset that gets its value based on rarity (at first). And as mining becomes hard, the miners will diminish and will cause a slow transaction which will lead to little to no adoption.

In short I think, bitcoin will be obsolete or die. Other currencies who can survive scalability problem will emerge.

In accordance to this, is there any thread in this forum geniuses are talking about on solutions about scalability?
765  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paypal chargeback on: May 01, 2018, 09:46:51 AM
This scares me a lot. I am thinking of using paypal for a website store I am going to build online. Good thing I've read this.

Im sad for you man, may be you can send them screen shots and chats. But the fact that the Policy doesn't cover cryptocurrencies is a mess for you.
766  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Roger Ver to be sued for defrauding bitcoin newbies. on: May 01, 2018, 09:38:21 AM
bitcoin.com and bitcoin cash is a big scam. After LN Bitcoin cash will become absolete
Bitcoin cash is cashing in bitcoin brand.Stayaway

with or without LN makes no matter, bitcoin cash is obsolete NOW and always. increasing the block size didn't make a difference. it just created an illusion of solving the scaling issue and that illusion seemed correct only because nobody was even using BCH and blocks only had a dozen transactions in them unlike bitcoin with ~2000 tx per block.

I am also waiting for this mass adoption of bitcoin cash to happen. This is to see if increasing the block size helped in the scaling and to see if it really works. So I'm okay with the advertisements his doing but not his misleadings.
767  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: KYC at end of bounty campaign on: April 29, 2018, 01:54:19 PM
The reliability and security of our data, as well as the violation of anonymity in the crypto community, is one of the main problems why many do not want to pass KYC and are not very good about it. I believe that only those who invest large sums should be checked for ordinary people with small checks are not required.

I believe this is another good reason. This is crypto, and we all know bitcoin became popular because of its anonimity.

This is a cheating manager to get big payouts. this should not be allowed and the manager should be reported with this cheating.
at least he gets red.

I dont know if this is true or not. But if somehow a campaign manager gets a portion of unsent bounty pool because of this. I think this needs to be reported somewhere.

oh no, why they cannot keep their secrets) hahaha everyone want to have a peace of growing pie called "cryptocurrency".

Cryptocurrency will be strong with this. And maybe we can expect more adoption. I would like to send cryptocurrency tip via facebook xD
769  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: KYC at end of bounty campaign on: April 29, 2018, 02:45:06 AM
The real question here is, our data safe with them?. KYC is like most of you guys okay with me. Its just I'm not comfortable enough to just give private documents to ICO teams. Especially if they'd just announced out from the end of a campaign that they need these documents like a non-professional team.

I mean we can send them our IDs, Passports and everything they need but they must send us contract or NDA for it, right?
770  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If you had $50, what would you invest in? on: April 29, 2018, 02:34:38 AM
Hey Folks, I know this was posted all the time, and sorry about that. But I'd like to hear from you what would you invest in if you had 50 dollars in your pocket ready to put into some crypto?

Try to grow the money first. Find some coin that is moving frequently and invest on that. Of course, this will still need you to understand what you are investing. After you have made the money double. Your choice, it either you keep the fast but not sure way of investing or the longterm way of investing. i prefer long term for I don't need to be always online for it. But still will need to be updated.

772  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Vitalik Buterin: I agree that Bitcoin is better than gold on: April 26, 2018, 02:28:42 PM
I personally think bitcoin is not better than gold, not at least now! If I exclude the other uses of gold like making ornaments, still gold is an excellent investment choice for capital protection. That is the reason why you will see gold price goes up every time, when the stock market crashes. because investors trust in gold and move their funds to that asset just protect their capital investment. Bitcoin has not yet replaced gold in that and I doubt it will ever happen. Bitcoin's price is highly dynamic in nature which makes it an excellent choice for the speculators. But when it comes to capital protection, bitcoin doesn't even stand in the queue.

I agree. Gold doesn't have volatile market as bitcoin. Gold's value increases every year which makes it more enjoyable to collect than bitcoin.
773  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How much have you really earned from bounties? on: April 26, 2018, 02:23:06 PM
For #2 let me rephrase my question:
2. What is the weekly average amount earned in USD$ for joining bounties if i spend 1-2 hours daily doing it? (not signature campaigns but fb, twitter, telegram bounties)

For social campaigns such as fb and twitter, mostly it is the same with signature campaigns in terms of duration. The duration is the same but the amount or stakes you can get is partially small compare to siganture.

So I can't say how much I earned (knowing its not yet received) from hourly basis. But I must say during the whole campaign till the end, the payment is really small. ~50usd, this depends of course from how many participants there is.
774  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Customizing your wallet address name. on: April 25, 2018, 02:27:02 PM
Anybody knows how can I custom my wallet address name?

For example, I want my address be like 1Electrobi1trtHbnqsheyuVhcxgpJgfds

Well, I don´t know if this is really possible. Thank you Smiley

I remember before, I have noticed that a Legendary member's public address includes his/her username. I actually noticed at the end of the public address. Im not sure if he does the public address first and then made the username though. But this is really interesting and nice to know.

You can use VanityGen, check this thread for more information Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator/miner [v0.22]

I'll check this. Thanks!
775  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: MyEtherWallet has been hacked on: April 25, 2018, 02:21:49 PM
What I know ...

MyEtherWallet, one of the main storage platforms of the cryptomeda ethereum of the internet, suffered a hacking attack in the dawn of this Tuesday (24). According to information from the Cointelegraph, those responsible for the coup - which have not yet been identified - have managed to steal approximately $ 150,000 in encrypted coins from the accounts of the service customers.

Criminals have used an old (but effective) technique known as BGP hijacking to reconfigure DNS servers and redirect site visitors to a phishing page. The only way to identify the fraud would be to pay attention to the lack of official MyEtherWaller certificate in the visited address, but few Internet users seem to have taken such detail and become victims.

On reddit, a service user commented on how the hit worked. "As soon as I entered, an accountant appeared for ten seconds and a transfer was made by sending all the available money to another wallet," he explained. After examining the case, the EtherScan platform realized that criminals created two different portfolios to execute the robbery before "shutting down" DNS interference.

It seems that the situation has already normalized and MyEtherWallet claims to be investigating the episode to take the necessary action. It is important to emphasize that, if they wanted to, those responsible for the coup could very well use the same feature to deceive users of other sites and web pages; however, so far, the hijacking of BGP does not seem to have affected other services in addition.

Thanks for the clarification. So it is not google dns resolver. This is the reason why I always check that "secured" certificate at the start of every url now most often. Do you think we are protected from phising sites if we use hardware wallets?
776  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How much have you really earned from bounties? on: April 25, 2018, 02:15:31 PM
Hi guys, i'm pretty new to bounties and have seen that there are lots of new altcoin bounties being posted everyday.

I'm curious as to:
1. Do you really earn from joining bounties like this?
2. What is the weekly average amount earned in USD$ for joining bounties lets say 1-2 hours daily?
3. How much have you earned from telegram bounties alone?

Hi m.vina, I actually wonder haven't you received any price since you started? I started joining signature bounties when I was a Jr.Member and..

1. Yes, I earned a lot of money i must say but that includes a lot of time and patience. I actually waited a sum of 7mos before it. ~1600usd.
2. I don't know what type of bounty are you refering here. For signatures it mostly runs for 2-3 mos or more depending on the devs.
3. I had telegram bounty before, you can earn as much as 1usd per task. But this still depends on the campaign. I stopped this because most of the task are too much for me.

778  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people need to use Bitcoin for Money laundering? on: April 24, 2018, 01:12:40 PM
The double standard makes perfect sense when you consider that the entire foundations of our fiat economy are dependent on the the success of banks.  Hence the phrase "too big to fail; too big to jail".  They can make an example of Ross Ulbricht because the US economy won't collapse as a result.  If the US locked up every banker that did something wrong and fined banks amounts that were more proportionate to their crimes, they'd effectively be shooting themselves in the foot head.  It would be fatal if major banks went under, so they'll keep doing everything they can think of to prevent that happening.

Eventually, though, the banks will take that one step too far, where there's no coming back from it.  They're on borrowed time.  The bill comes due.  Until that point comes, a slap on the wrist is all they're ever going to get.

Best explanation I've read so far. If I have merit I gave some already. You are right, huge banks play big role on how the economy is moving forward or backward everyday. So a sudden change will definitely affect the economy. Just like what happened to WallStreet.
779  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: The End Of The Bounty. on: April 24, 2018, 01:04:22 PM

I think the simple solution is to remove the stake system. Be it fixed amount and decrease on every penalty. I think this will help bounty hunters and ofcourse will make more post quality.
Why you need to remove the stake system while you can simply limit the number of participants? Remove them in every week if they are found spamming, and replace with new quality participants.

I think -putting myself on the developers foot- it is best to have the sense of ability to gain more participants. And I think removing the stakes system will make the ICO stick to a number of participants. Which will help in this matter.
780  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: The End Of The Bounty. on: April 23, 2018, 02:45:56 PM
Currently, there are a huge number of ICO projects. Of course, we all understand that half of these projects are either Scam or just very weak projects that nobody needs. But now there are at least such projects. What will be in a year, when the ICO every day will be less and less until it reaches the point that one project per month will be released? It is also worth mentioning that the number of participants in the bounty companies is increasing day by day, and the money allocated to the bounty companies are becoming less.  Conclusion: the bounty of the company will exist for another year, or a maximum of two.
What do you think about this?
Well I really like your analysis very much. We should also know that if such happens, it means regulations on tge number of participants should be added. This ensures participants get a fair share of bounties. Also, it can be made in such a way that those who join earlier get a higher percentage or share as in ICOs participation. I don't think bounties are gonna end. ICOs aren't gonna die off either. There will still be some remaining which would be not scam
For me, I think the key is how to identify those scam projects. For investors, they lose money. For bounty hunters, they lose their time and energy.

For me, I think the key is regulation. Managers will need to do limits on the number of participants. But i think that is not possible for a simple reason that, it provides more advertisement for the same price. More labor for the same price.

I think the simple solution is to remove the stake system. Be it fixed amount and decrease on every penalty. I think this will help bounty hunters and ofcourse will make more post quality.
