761  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: cant connect to myminer.io ?? please help SP20 on: May 29, 2016, 08:28:25 PM
I ran my SP20 for a long time, don't remember if I ever heard OF myminer.io

 So no, it's NOT needed.

If you had all SP gear it would be nice to have.   But in no way is it necessary but reset as mentioned above should reset login.  I always had Bitmain and Avalon gear to so it did not do me a ton of good just showing me some of my miners.

OP you might look at other options to view gear instead of this if you have other brand gear to espically.

Oh, nice. 14nm chips from BW.

I found this announcement for the previous chip BW-LK1401
https://www.bw.com/news/show-65-proclamation
Quote
...BW-LK1402 chips are currently in production with a lower power consumption of 95 W/T. BW ASIC chips make use of the most advanced manufacturing technology and optimized design leading to increased hash power, lower power consumption and greater stability.

Maybe work together with sidehack and kilo17 (Community miner project) if they are interested!?

Thanks for posting that is a heck of  upgrade if they hit that mark on power consumption.  Will be interesting to watch if they made a bunch of these.

jstefanop are you able to let us know anything about price?  Or if it's hitting spec?  Or are you under NDA where you cant say much?
763  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Who thinks Bitcoin will HardFork back to GPU only mining Algorithms? on: May 29, 2016, 08:19:37 PM
Not happening.

I would agree, as I think there are a lot of powerful people that will not want the change.  To get a good majority of people to go for hardfork I think will be something just out of reach.

And I think ultimately it would be for not as most are "asic resistant" not proof.  So likely if there is big money there we just start process over where it moves to GPU's and eventually asics would pop up or whatever algo it is using.
764  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: No Mining = End of Bitcoin? on: May 29, 2016, 08:14:59 PM
This may be hard to grasp by many here because many here are hobbyist or speculators. I am with Phil, as a hobbyist, I will continue to mine regardless of price.

That's where I am now. Bitcoin mining is a hobby so I can learn more about blockchain. I like the idea of sidehack's Compac stick miners, and have one happily mining away at ~18 GH/s and earning between 750 and 1500 satoshis per day. In today's mining environment it will not ROI, but maybe it will sometime down the road. I'd also be interested in a 500 watt home miner built with the latest generation of ASICs if one gets built, preferably by someone here.

Cheers,

- zed

The next step from USB mining would be either an Antminer S3 but a Antminer S5 is not very expensive either. Do note that you will not ROI but it's nice to play with a bigger Asic.

The S3 you can underclock and make it pretty quiet, but it's quiet dated at this point.  The S5 I kinda think of as hot and loud.   But going to either from a single compac is a pretty big jump.

But he also mentions 500 watt with latest generation, so S7-LN might be closest thing to what hes wanting.  But we don't know a ton about it yet.
765  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Diff thread May 24 to June 6? picks are closed!!.... prize = 0.10 btc on: May 29, 2016, 08:02:41 PM
Value is just amazing hitting 540 + on coinbase, and it was not that long ago we were sitting in 440's.  So heck of a uptick in  value.  So it was suprising to see for sure, also surprising is difficulty is staying pretty reasonable.

I keep thinking we will see some gear come online seeing this.  But so far nothing big it seems.
766  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: earn Bitcoins-easyst way on: May 28, 2016, 07:45:11 PM
hello ! i am looking for Way or Methode to earn easy free Bitcoins On youtube are many Videos with this theme, but most are fake !

i search for a way to make fasst and easy frrom 0,001 Bitcoin 0,1 Bitcoin or more. and with no risiko. In the Darknet are many usefull Tools Methodes or Files for low Bitcoins. I look for Way to earn Bitcouisn from Starting 0,001 Bitcoins. The best wood be to earn up to 1 Bitcoin 1 Day

Sp please help me

So many of these questions like this, but it all comes down to Bitcoin is not a get rich quick scheme.  When talking about 1 BTC a day your talking about around 500 dollars per so that add's up really quick.   Those videos your watching are trying to get views and they make a little money.  They have catchy titles but just not true on getting rich quick.

Take 500 a day times 365 your talking about around 178k a year, so a 6 figure income.  So it's going to be unrealistic for most unless very big investments are made.  And this amount definitely cannot be done at this level with no risk.
767  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie Campaign Help!!! on: May 28, 2016, 07:36:17 PM
Is there a chance for newbie to join a signature campaign?  Cry
No. No signature campaigns accept newbies. If you rank up a little, you could join YoBit, but I would highly recommend that you don't. YoBit has a low reputation and participants in their campaign are known to be spammers. By joining that campaign, you mark yourself as someone who may be spamming and thus increase the likelihood of a ban.

If you choose to join a signature campaign, please post with good quality. Read all of the stickies in every section you want to post in to learn the rules of that section. You should also read the stickies in Meta because those apply to the entire forum. If you break any of the rules, your post will be deleted and you be banned.

To post with good quality, do not simply just repeat what others have said in the thread before you. Read the thread before you post; what you want to say may have already been said. The OP may have moved on from the original topic and the topic of the thread may have turned to something else. Always think before you post. If you are posting just to boost your post count, don't post. If you have no idea what the thread is about, don't post. If you are posting in a thread with pages and pages and pages of replies, don't post if you don't want to read the whole thing.

If you do as I said above, the likelihood of getting your posts deleted and being banned decreases.

I would agree with not jumping into signature campaign.  Some people think it's great free money want to jump right in.  You really don't see much till around full member.  So you can use time before then to learn and not lose much as far as earnings.

So I would learn about the forum, and specifically make posts that are constructive and help others.  It looks like you already jumped into one OP.   I would warn about posts like you did below:

Real Marrid 1-0 Atletico Marrid Grin BTCBTCBTCBTC

One liners like that with a signature on your account is a quick way to get banned for insubstantial post.
768  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: No Mining = End of Bitcoin? on: May 28, 2016, 07:20:16 PM
Yeah. That's one of the  dead ends with bitcoin. Remember the last summer while the price was 200$? Ask this to yourself, would you mine bitcoin if the price was 200$ and going around 200$ for more than a year? The answer is probably no. But somehow, price didn't stay at 200$ and jumped to 400$+ in  such a small timeframe. I don't know why, maybe people thought they were cheap and bought it or maybe satoshi bought his own coins to manipulate the price. As a result mining today is profitable for whose with cheap or free electricy, and because of that miners still exist. If mining stops, no more bitcoin.

I mined profitably last summer it was not as tough as this summer on margins with profit.  So I think your point about mining last summer is a little off.  I do agree if costs equal value or less chances are fewer mine.  Which will be interesting at having.

Also I think your point about Satoshi manipulating is not even in realm of being realistic.   I think you are looking at pretty far fetched ideas.
769  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Diff thread May 24 to June 6? picks are closed!!.... prize = 0.10 btc on: May 28, 2016, 07:14:03 PM

* Stats up above in post

but the problem we have for btc is that current hash  rate is 1,367,000,000  and it can go to 2,200,000,000
hash rate  overnight  which means  the diff rate is truly easy for someone to shift up and down at will.

this can't possibly be a good thing for any one in the game.

price at coinbase is just under 500

The thing I can't understand is why would anyone want to shift down with gear?  It seems they would want to get as much BTC as possible and run the gear.  Maybe if someone was selling next gen and wanted people to see smaller hash rate.  But I just don't see reason currently.

I am happy with price though I was wanting 460 at least and we got almost 500, so a heck of a value increase.   If only Ether would have got the jump to in value.

770  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Diff thread May 24 to June 6? picks are closed!!.... prize = 0.10 btc on: May 27, 2016, 05:21:58 AM
Wow just up in the UK and look at the price... $472 Had to do a double take, does anyone know the reason?

Rich

Don't know reason why but I wont complain.  It seems that China is driving it I think looking at timing of it.  But I have not heard of any news or great things to be the reason China is pushing it up.
771  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Paper Wallets on: May 27, 2016, 05:20:18 AM
Paper wallet is more safe than other types of wallet. It is because you are the only one who knows where you keep it. You can keep it inside a book and put it inside a vault or whichever way you want. Unlike online wallets, remember that they have employees with them. If those people are bad they could steal your bitcoin.

Paper wallets you have to create it in a safe environment, and if used has to be safe to.  So risky to import your wallet onto a computer as it really gets rid of the offline security you had.

There are hardware wallets like Trezor that you could use and even if on a compromised system should not lose BTC.  This is due to signing being on the hardware device.  So paper wallets are great for longterm storage.   I just see using the paper wallet as kinda the weakness.
772  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Earning Bitcoins on: May 27, 2016, 05:17:20 AM
*very long quote look above for full quote.

At this moment making profit is really very easy. As said investing and buying bitcoin will get good profit when we get near the days of halving or when halving gets over.

The thing I find against this is everyone knows around when having will be.  So really investors are investing now with that knowlege. It's not like having will happen and suprise those who hold BTC.

So I don't know if we can count on a big increase on day of having or day's after.  I keep thinking it will be before having if we see it.  Right now we had a decent bump up were hitting 470 on coinbase.
773  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I check the balance on my paper wallet? on: May 27, 2016, 05:13:42 AM
..without having to unload/sweep my entire balance on some other address/wallet?

Basically im going to use the Paper Wallet as a piggy bank...but I want to monitor it and confirm my BTC transactions are going through.

Whats the best and easiest way to do this?

also, I have some BTC sitting in my coinbase wallet and even when I enter the several addresses, including Wallet Address and those several automatically generated addresses after each transaction, into Blockchain.info, it says the balance is 0 BTC....hmmmmm

Copy your wallet addreas/SHA Hash, and you open this site https://blockchain.info/ paste in search coloum on blockchains site. And you can check your balance Smiley thank you

I personally like phone apps for it there are android and IOS options.  But pick your favorite and you can save your BTC address without acccess but view holdings and value on a good app.  And you can check it from anywhere.

But there is lots of good options depending if your looking for mobile platform or PC there are some nice ones to.  We really need to know what platform OP wants it on.
774  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: why people love bitcoins? on: May 27, 2016, 05:11:13 AM
why people love bitcoins?

Because by using bitcoin you can get rich quick, bitcoin transactions are also easy and inexpensive fee of course. And i love bitcoin because is anonymous Cheesy
I have to disagree that Bitcoin can get you rich quick.  I have been messing with Bitcoin for some time now and I am not no where near rich and I am assuming neither are the other hundreds/thousands of people are.  you can make money with Bitcoin just like you can with other forms of money, but I would love to know how to get rich quick.

We all have different styles in earning bitcoins, Mostly i do buying and selling accounts and my earnings are steady.I too am not really rich here but at least i can pay my bills while being in here. You can get rich maybe but it is not really that quick.

But i think most higher ranking members are earning enough to have the wage if a middle class men. It's all in our tactics.

Bitcoin is not a get rich quick scheme.  It is a forum of digital currency.  You can do investments with high risk, and get possibly high returns.  But you also have the chance of losing huge to.  Holding is more long term, and not get rich that is for sure.

I would avoid buying/selling accounts just to much scams/hacked/crap accounts.   I find it hard to believe you are buying and flipping them and getting enough money to pay bills or get rich off of it alone.
775  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Electricity backup for antminer's on: May 27, 2016, 05:06:32 AM
There is no use in using a battery backup for loads like miners.

According to APC.com you would need:

APC Smart-UPS SRT 5000VA 208V + (4)SRT192BP Battery Unit  (calculated runtime  @ 2800W is 126min)

So you would need $4,000 + 4x($1,000) or basically $8,000 worth of APC UPS gear to "do it right".

Also, with that many regular power outages plan on replacing batteries often!

You can "homegrow" your own solution, but batteries will need constant replacement and the reality is UPS is just not worth it!

It is a case of the cost of keeping it operating just is not worth it due to earnings.  Even with "homegrown" I think it will take a good amount of time at 40 to 1.5 hours a day to pay for setup.   We just don't see people doing this due to costs.

OP what country are you located? And if I can ask what is your electricity price? (asking due to power cuts)
776  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: SP35 Stop Running on: May 27, 2016, 05:02:35 AM
First step with miners, check the PSU. I know my GAW miners kept rebooting. so i swapped out the PSU and it was fine.

Already did that and keeps stopping.

Thanks for your comment anyways.

Donīt know what else could I do.

Is it a miner that worked fine or is it new to you and always done this?  What is your electrical setup like going to the SP35 do you have 220/240?

I would agree looking at PSU first, and power second.
777  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: 3x Antminer S3 problems on: May 27, 2016, 05:00:18 AM
I can just have one plugged at a time:

I flashed via GUI, via Serial and via SSH, nothing seems to work

And you have tried the other one on connector and it works fine with just one? (IE chain 1 in this case)

Trying to gather info.  You have an odd issue for sure for 3 to all go to one blade mining ok.  Did you have any storms or any electrical problems  before this happened?
778  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain S7 - dB Reduction w/ fans, duct, and psu? on: May 27, 2016, 04:54:39 AM
The S4 I ran I think at 1.3THs, no idea if its under 60dB. But the PSU was making the most noise.

Depending on ambient you can run it at maybe 1.5-1.6THs and its moderately loud but any higher and it just gets too loud or heats up.

I think it was using 0.6W/GHS or 0.65W/GHS at those speeds. So almost like an S5.

S4 does have a server like psu so I don't think of it as quiet but it's been a while since I had one running in my mining area.  If going back that far the Avalon 4.1's you could almost make silent and ofcourse can use a quiet ATX psu.   S3's are a option on running quiet but are kinda dated.

I think you might look at way's to dampen sound with S7.  It's price is just hard to beat currently but it with PSU is loud.  So you would have to make a enclosure for it like some have done.   But I don't know if then it will be quiet enough for you.
779  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: $10,000-15,000 rig on: May 27, 2016, 04:49:48 AM
i have both btc rigs and eth coin rigs.

I balance myself between the two.  I have earned just about 1500 in usd worth of eth coins and i paid about 390 in power

so I got back 1110 usd my gear cost me 4k  but I have real pc's that can be used as gaming pc's htpc pc's and the like.

I can sell them and i do sell them as gaming pc's to friends and family.

I am happy that a coin like eth coin is around for now.

I think difficulty is going to keep to continue to go up in last 30 day's about a 25 percent increase in difficulty:
41.9           26-May
31.493   26-Apr
0.751622912

What I am afraid of is big mega operations mining ether pumping difficulty up and dumping coins.   We seem to be losing value... which hopefully will change.  Either way I guess GPU's are pretty good on holding value is good thing.

413581 (Main Chain)    2016-05-27 02:46:30  current block

413282 (Main Chain)   2016-05-24 21:23:04  this was first one of this jump

300 even

2 days        = 288
5 hours      =   30
30 minutes =    3

321 = 0%

300/321-1  = (-6.542056074766%)

real time number.  but we saw them add 1000 ph  so this is pretty much a worthless number.

On adding I keep thinking we will see next gen.  I honestly am surprised there has not been anyone to release it yet.  I keep thinking we will see it before having from someone but I could be wrong.

If we don't see next gen before having it's going to get even tighter on profits at least for me.  But value took a good jump .. nice to see coinbase around 467 and China is awake now.  So hopefully we see it go up even more.
