762  Bitcoin / Hardware / Whats your thoughts on Butterfly labs? on: July 14, 2012, 05:54:12 AM
I sense a strong intensity of this community against Butterfly labs. I'm not quite sure why I'm I'm thinking about purchasing a low end mining rig from them what can I expect? and how long will it take for it to arrive?
763  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][Beta]Cheaper In Bitcoins | Pretty URLS are comming soon on: July 14, 2012, 05:24:56 AM

15BTC, why that’s $100/hour! Shocked Yet no references or a link to a portfolio to back it up.
I am actually quite curious what a $100/hour programmer must produce to expect to be paid that kind of money.
766  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is genjix's work being removed? on: July 14, 2012, 01:26:40 AM
wow that forum sure looks like a bureaucratic hell.
Mmm.  That's why if I were King I'd fast forward to a couple years from now when there were several mature bitcoin clients and bitcoin.org would not list any directly at all (see w3c.org for an example, you won't find a "Download a Web Browser Now!" link).

But I'm not King and unlike the Web there aren't a bunch of mature, well-funded bitcoin clients to choose from yet.

Agreed you can't decentralize Bitcoin unless their are more then a few Bitcoin clients produced by different entities, I believe the first step to helping with this process is to helping developers understand Bitcoin at the coding level with intutive documentation.

I hope to help educate developers with the Pseudo-code Client Documentation project which is aimed at providing snippets of example codes but in Pseudocode language and in the end I hope to have different coders contribute examples codes into every language possible. The end result could be that anyone with programming "know-how" can develop their own clients for what ever the reason or cause.

Gweedo was kind enough to contribute java code to generate a bitcoin address at the command line check it out: https://github.com/Xenland/Bitcoin-Pseudocode-Client/tree/gh-pages/examples/java/Commandline%20Generate%20Bitcoin%20Address
767  Other / Off-topic / Re: Post your GPA & IQ score. on: July 14, 2012, 01:10:37 AM
Only people of average intelligence think IQ scores are meaningless.  Anyone with an IQ below 60 or above 140 knows exactly what that number implies.
I disagree, I scored high on my IQ tests, 2 years higher then my peers in fact (It was a professional, face to face IQ test not those fun & games Online IQ tests), I believe IQ's are just for gauging your ability to solve problems.

After all if I'm in the jungle I'll most likely end up being a friend of Tarzans than with a scientist standing next time him(if i had to choose of course) since the Tarzan guy has Jungle Intelligence, knows the land, most likely has past relatives that brought him up and raised to him to teach him how to survive and what’s poisonous and what is safe to eat  and stuff like that.... Their is no such thing as intelligence, its just that the kind of intelligence we are talking about is productive intelligence.... Do I have to ability to make A into B? If I can pass all tests on the IQ test that just means I can make people ALOT of money and have to ability to be highly productive in my life with out alot of time wasted on trial and errors Smiley My two cents on IQ score credibility

and I dunno my IQ score, I would give my self a 10out of 10 Tongue

A very commonly reached conclusion.

In fact, smarts is the most equitably distributed commodity in the world:
in the end, it's the very tool you use to gauge how much of it you have.

Eh, The IQ quizzes are only as accurate as the test creators were aware of at the time of creating the test. It basically is an assumption of ones intelligence, the assumption is that the consistency of the numbers(IQ score) is relative to the subjects capacity for problem solving within the specified criteria(Assuming they are aware enough to match this criteria but everyone is human so IQ quizes are flawed no matter wut).
769  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Interplanetary payment system on: July 13, 2012, 02:54:18 AM
I would assume their would be its own block chain on each planet and communications between planets would be done within an organization that has set up a their own communication lines to change balances your trust would be in the organization hands by that point though

778  Economy / Services / [WTB] JFrame + JSwing + JLabels custom GUI development needed with Java on: July 12, 2012, 05:00:17 AM
Hello I need a GUI needed that only involves JSwing + JLabels, the JLabels will have images loaded up in to them to represent a custom GUI interface. I have created an example of the lock screen here is my example code: http://cheaperinbitcoins.com/download/pipboy.zip

Here is a Google Presentation page showing a rough rough rough draft of the final output of the GUI https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1E9BJb20noFA64V42LxqMZQU_dwixRyWdnZH9PJB_xSY/edit#slide=id.p

I have the time to communicate back and forth and "approve" each step of the process -- so we don't waste each others time. I have spent a great deal of time learning java to know if its possible and I have a fairly good idea of its limitations meaning I'll be easy to work with.

I can send "Dummy" images representing the GUI if you need them to help visualize the GUI.
I ask that you don't use any "grouping" GUI components. everything should be done with just JSwing + Jlabels and then java logic to place elements everywhere. I don't need any fancy animations either.

Give me a quote thanks!

779  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Decentralized Identity Management using the Block Chain on: July 11, 2012, 12:59:33 PM
Deffinatly want to bring your own fingerprint signing hardware Wink

That would just transfer the trust issue to the counter-party requesting your fingerprint to be checked.... s/he would need to trust your device not to be fraudulent.
Exactly my point actually.... Finger printing is flawed to authenticate identity.. It only shows "significant evidence" you are authenticating your identity with only fingerprint. AFAIK a true fingerprint system would incorporate a Fingerprint, Eye scan as well as a unique password that is unique to the identity but then again that’s for entering secure buildings by that method of authentication becuase as its easy to kill someone and take their fingerprints, eyeballs(eww) and beat the password outta them before you kill them its shouldn't be possible to enter a secure building with a bloddy finger, an eye ball(forget the password) llol
