Hello,

To generate plots, how to determine the plot value. I just gave the value as 824000 for 200 GB. Will this be enough. I also have a 1.5 Tb space, how much plot to allocate? pls help !!

C:\Windows\SysWOW64\java -Xmx1200m -cp pocminer.jar;lib/*;lib/akka/*;lib/jetty/* pocminer.POCMiner generate 1007041384185016045 0 824000 500 5

Plot size is calculated as (tb*1024*1024*1024)/256 or (gb*1024*1024)/256.

Excuse me PLEASE!!! Shocked

But I read here a while back that any number we use has to be an even multiple of 8191, is that still correct?

For example, my 600 GB plot = 2457600, but when dividing by 8191 I found I needed to make it 2457300 to come out as an even multiple.

So if this is correct, don't forget to check the number by dividing it by 8191, and lower the big number until it comes out even, as in (some number).000 .

never read that anywhere :0 hope i dont have to spend another 24 hours replotting Sad

I did mine in groups of 4000 and 8000 (instead of 8192)

So mine were always even.

I have ~8 tb like that and I hit plenty of blocks before switching to the pool.
I did mine in 5000; each of my plots were 250,000 plots big.

Does this run on Solaris?
How many BURST could a couple 480 TB Solaris servers earn?
How much plankton does a whale eat?

Today in Burst News:
- Burst to be added to Bittrex soon
- over 70 BTC volume and near 900 satoshi price on c-cex
- Gui plotter/miner in the works

i think burst on bittrex is not good now!

BTER, Poloniex, BTC38 and Cryptsy are better options in my opinion.

For bittrex is good, but not now..

yes... any big exchange is good... but not now...
It's not confirmed, but it sure looks like they will add it soon, especially with all the volume and attention lately.
I would be shocked if we don't see BURST on Bittrex later today. There is no other reason why they would add NXT all of a sudden.

My suggestion - pull your sell order on C-Cex. We have all made good money selling in the 600 - 800 range but I think it is worth waiting for a second exchange and see what happens.

trex just added NXT back, I guess they will be adding BURST soon aswell

Dev, speak with them!

I think I do not understand how the difficulty is calculated with this coin.

It has been between 10 and 25 Mio for a couple of days.

I expected it to rise fast. Why is it doing down instead?

"baseTarget" is the difficulty, right?

I don't think basetarget shows difficulty, it should correlate with the amount of TB currently in use.

Can somebody please post working v2 config im getting seriously mad of this. Downloaded like 3 versions of clients edited tons of files as ppls reccomend in their tutorials and im still getting error messages from client and dont even have generated any file in Plot folder because I just have no idea how to generate any of that files. Wasted 20 hours and im still at start im so disappointed its not working for me.

if you would like to add my work skype I can help you... you can add my home one too, if you'd like.

work - jason.metamation

home - crowetic

Maybe someone should do youtube videos how-to guides for Burst in general....

I have even bigger dreams my son. I have my developer friend here at work with me ( I work for a software developer) who is going to design a GUI for the plotter and the miner! So we are talking about this right now. I will keep everyone updated!'

So far it will be Windows and 64bit only, but that's just the start.

OMG, one of the best achievements for this Coin.
Wonderfull!
Burst is going to fly to another galaxy soon. Fuck the moon

so I'm attemptin to run my plot generator over the network.  im getting this error saying it cant find main class poc miner?

is this a permission issue or something to do with java?

that means you need the pocminer file from the solo download.
Just copy the pocminer.jar to the folder where the run_generate.bat is.

Code:
If you do that you will have two hard drives with the same information.  Think of this as a process of generating lottery numbers.  It calculates lottery "tickets" (plots) based on some static value (like your account number) plus the variable nonce value.  If you simply copy and paste it to another drive you will have two of each lottery ticket with the same winning numbers (plots) and you can't win the lottery twice.  It's just a waste of hard drive space.

really good example to understand!

 Wink Wink Wink Wink
Yeah that's a great analogy.
777  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient POC Mining | Update to 1.0.3 before block 6500 on: September 02, 2014, 07:44:21 PM
do you have to have the plots in order, like on my first harddrive i have 1-7200000 and started my second harddrive 72000001-144000000

turns out my first harddrive is only 80% full, how would i plot the other 20 percent, could i put 144000001-160000000 on the first one?

It doesn't matter what numbers you use at all.  The number is just a variable in the encryption process.  For instance it would take your account number + 1, then account + 2, etc.  It takes the values from the <starting nonce> and goes for as long as you tell it to in the next argument <number of plots>.  Each output is completely random so you could do account number + 50238 or account number +10000000000 and you'll get just as random a plot as you would with + 4 and + 5.

That's why you don't ever want any overlapping hashes - it always uses the same information + the nonce value.  If you two plots both starting at 1 and doing to 1000000, you each plot will calculate your account number + 1, +2, etc so both plots will have the same values and you can't submit a value twice.

I did my first hard drive starting at 1.  Second drive started at 100,000,000.  Third at 200,000,000. And so forth.  It's way overkill, I could probably do increments of 20,000,000 but since the value of the number doesn't matter, it doesn't matter - I'm not going to run out of numbers.

Just don't use the same numbers twice, ever. Other than that, it has no effect whatsoever what numbers you use, they absolutely do not need to be sequential.

you need to do it for every drive, couldn't you just copy paste the plot file into the next hdd?

do what for everydrive? 2 drives both need different plots pointing to the same account, correct?

that's my question, does two drives(same type) need two different plot? can't you just copy paste that large file in the plots folder to a different HDD?
Yes, you must generate new plots, if you copy plots to the 2nd drive, it will exactly mimic the first, resulting in a wasted drive.
Think of it like generating keys to open a chest, if you generate 100 different keys, then copy those instead of generating 100 more different ones, it will be a waste.

Something weird:

My solo miner shows current block @ 7950
My Pool_miner shows current height @ 7957
Try scrolling down on your solo miner?

Nope, that's not it.

What do you guys have for the current block (since i think i have a wallet issue)?
Your pool miner seems fine, the current block as of now is 7963.
