1.5 Million$ worth of NXT have just been stolen from Bter.com
May i takes this oportunity to remind you again that it is vital for the success of uno that you don't store your coins at the exchange?
I repeat: don't store Uno at the exchanges
762  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update Now to 0.9.5 wallet on: August 15, 2014, 01:44:53 AM
I have a question about growing a wider audience to automatically increase demand and thereby price and miners.

Has anyone, while on a crypto-exchange chat room, ever accepted free coins from someone promoting a new coin?

If so or if not, what was your impression of that technique?

If you did download the wallet and accept the coins, did you purchase anymore on the exchange?

Sorry for all of the questions...

I've seen numerous giveaways at poloinex. Generally people take the coins and put a sellorder up without buying more. Maybe some look the coin up - only few will support it further. I think random giveaways are not helping much. I think exclusive giveaways like i am doing them help way more. If i see a person that is intelligent or i think could be interested in the coin i give them one. I prefer giving one coin to one person where i think he/she will look into it and like it and possibly join the community ínstead of giving 10 random people 0.1 - maybe i am wrong on that one but i think giving away coins from person to person and having a little chat with it is better than just throwing them around at everybody unpersonally and anon.

Jesus.  Show me where I said it was dying.  I didn't.  In fact, what I said was *MAYBE*, in a few months, when the reward lessens further, that MAYBE we IF the price hasn't increased that we MIGHT have to consider other alternatives to keep the coin rolling.

that is right. But price will very likely increase. I agree on being watchful though.

Its like you guys can't read.

I don't even know why i bother.  I'll let you all argue against points I wasn't making while ignoring the issue I was concerned about.  I'll not feed you any longer.  Get back to posting cool pictures with UN pasted on it.

dude, chill out. Merged mining is on the way. No need to worry.

Network is today 16.6 Terrahash/s - not exactly a dying coin.

guys, the topic would have been alright months ago but currently hashrate is rising - why even discuss that when things are on the up? Doesn't make so much sense now to be alarmist when 3 months ago hash was less than halve of what it is now.
Just my 2 cents

Need more hash? Raise the price.

how is the butthurt? This is going where all the other flashmined coins go: zero

(just dumped my cinni today)

I'd ask you to invest your cinni-buns in VRC, but we really need "smart" money ATM... Top 100 wallets (and likely more) are proof of smart money invested in VeriCoin.

Stake Weight is 22.2M ATM

I'd be interested in some naked shortselling. Someone wants to lend me some vrc? I'll give you back +3% vrc in a few weeks.

Its the best time to wait and watch the market... not to buy.

Look at the Altcoins in general.

The entire crypto market is in trouble i believe it is due to all the new coins announced everyday

+1 trouble not because of new coins but because 95% of new coins are scams. It's not the new coins its the scamcoins that keep investors away. I think there is a real possibility the scams kill the whole altcoin-industry.
770  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Cinni | PoS | First Coin With Private Encrypted Messaging | No premine on: August 12, 2014, 08:17:34 PM
Seems like a bot is trying to lower the price on Mintapal. Any thoughts? In any case, prices are lower relative to other markets, cheap cinni before codedcaffiene revitalizes it.

i dumped today before traded with mayority of alts below 20k$ cap. Altcoins are dead.

No need for devs, coin is backed by Queen Elizabeth.

Somebody good with math.  How long until we hit 200k Un?

--

could be up to a decade - i didn't calculate to the last Un though ... until next halving is roughly 1600 Un to go ... then the 200 days after that there will be 3100 ... 200 days after that 1500 ... 200 days after that 750 ... and so on. We will hit minimum-reward before 200k don't we? Or shortly after that. Next 10k will take years.

This is the time of a big rise ... can't be long.
774  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MIN] Minerals - POS. Fair Distribution. E-SPORTS BETTING TEST WENT LIVE! on: August 11, 2014, 07:02:25 PM
why the dump?

people seem to want the dev to post more often, not just sir PR guy.
Also mostly just people being impatient. These updates don't just sprout out of the ground, they take a lot of TLC to get right Wink
Don't let this flat line! Tell us what we can do to help with updates. I maybe just a Neanderthal at my computer, but I can help Cheesy

those dev, dev, dev people are like little children, i know. They killed good coins with it a lot. Look corgicoin. Dev didn't want to post on btctalk and people insited on how dead the coin was, when dev only was refusing to be at btctalk. Oh well, that's how it is.

oh look - uno is rising on the coinmarket-list ... just by holding its value Grin

UNO Development Project UNO

- Design and be first to release into the wilds of crypto free markets a store of value coin -

*Then create various 'Added-Value' features and uses, without compromising the store of value initiative.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

More and more people will start to notice Un's ability to remain stable in the direction Up.

Many coins have already copied the quick mining schedule.
But they moved too quick.  Doing what Uno did in the course of nearly a year, well now they do it in 5days.

Those coins still have another two-three quarters before establishing a solid value.  And most will fail to even get there.

Uno is just now starting to raise the roof but also bring the floor up too.

Slow and steady, and going North.

Uno's animal spirit is most likely a big tortoise.  An old boy wise with years.  Build-in armor shell to protect against crypto market down turns, but will lag behind a bit on the quick boom cycles.

How does it all work?  Math.  And an ever growing community that will gradually find many additional uses for this non-inflationary form of currency.

protecting you against monetary inflation was what crypto and bitcoin was all about in the first place - so uno is actually delivering on that. It 100% fulfills its real world application already. Only more people need to and will discover it for it to grow really big. More people will want to use Unobtanium as eventually inflation becomes more and more of a problem in the future in many countries.

In a few years it will very likely be a well known safe haven for storing value in a turbulent economic and financial environment.

I like that picture of the tortoise Smiley

The Altcoin Market Cap has dropped $160 million (25%) in the last 2 months.

Uno thinks: "what do i care?"
That is interesting. At a time when a dozen new alts are launched each day, Un has consistently held it's position. A lot of coins du jour have peaked and then dropped far below Un's value.  2014 has been an incredible year just for the sheer volume of alts that have been released.
Un's marketcap could easily be much higher, and will be soon.

at  this stage new coins are no competition anymore. Most fail within days long before a community can emerge. Look jade just pumped and dumped within less than 6 hours on exchange. New coins don't fail within weeks like it was - now they fail within hours - even if they are not scams.
I think Uno is a relativeley safe place among the alts right now. Everything is down, down, down today. Uno holds value. Buysupport could be better but also doesn't dump really ... I think we have to kind of wait the recent alt-bloodbath out. Uno will be just fine.

that just for deposit right?, maybe someone made it via wire transfer?

as far as i am aware deposits, yes. I don't know about withdrawals. At this point i would recommend to withdraw in crypto and wait what's going to happen there.
