We need a new digital currency that breaks apart from Bitcoin. Its kind of dumb to have everything depend on one thing.

You guys are living in a pipe dream. With no regulation it doesn't work. Any person with just a bit of common sense that gets scammed just once is done. It has happened to more people by more scammers than anything I have ever seen in my lifetime and I am 48 so I have seen a lot. Unless you have a Federal Authority that will prosecute and help recover funds by protecting against fraud, it just won't work. I was in love with BTC until all of the scamming took place. At first it was bad but recoverable due to mining but now with zero profitability in mining the scambaggers are really at work. You have had companies with millions of dollars folding left and right with no remorse and no consequences. I totally agree. I am totally in support of crypto. Whether it's btc, nxt or quarkbar. but there needs to be a regulatory authority. It's great to think that we could have a total decentralized currency but it just won't work without regulation. |

Allcoin, Bittrex, and Poloniex seem to have the best response. Cryptsy has just as many haters as likers.

I generally use several exchanges. I do not prefer one of them. Each exchange has its own advantages and disadvantages. everyone must decide for themselves what is important for him. I do not like, if trade history is cut after X trades and shows only a short period of the executed trades. BTER, swisscex, cryptsy for example. Since few days there is a neu exchange we should to look at. It is called CRYPTONIA https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/The exchange is somehow special in some way. You can mine a lot of coins with your account and trade them directly. Also is there a marketplace on the website where you can sell your goods for coins. For my first view it makes a serious impression. And also the Chat Box is more as i've seen before and brings a lot of fun, in contrast to other sites. If by the time the user volume increase and more people make their offers, set their positions and trade all what is tradable there, then the exchange should be an interesting alternative against all what is already out there. Only time will tell. If crypyopia is still around in 6 months then maybe it may be a good exchange. |

In this day and age the time of quick buck coins is in, most dev's just keep pumping the same kind of coins out just with features we have all seen before, as soon as there is buy support dumps happen then people move on & the next coin comes into play leaving the bagholders "Hoping" for some retribution, it's just one giant ponzi scheme for copy/paste devs.
These Pump & Dump groups are the main cause of the Altcoin problem, they get everyone on the edge of their seat with price then boom, no-one knows what just hit them.
In the last 6 months there has been very few coins that have survived the altcoin boom, in saying that there is actual "competent" Dev's out there that are working towards their cause & showing commitment and sticking with their coin.
I can tell you of a few but that would be Biased.
Just DYOR (Do your own research) on the coins features, developers skills, commitment & to also make sure they aren't hiding behind a shill account (if they were that keen on their own coin they would make a name for themselves globally, everyone knows what Bitcointalk is...)
I can't agree more. That's why I feel that a coin needs to have some age. If a coin survives its IPO and dev team sticks with it, then the coin has a chance to grow. Choose coins that have some age plus have a dedicated dev team. |

I figured that a lot of people would say cryptsy or bittrex. They are definitely the big players. I would like to throw another one in the mix also.
I really like allcoin. They have been around for a while now . They seem to stay on top of things. if you have an issue they always do what they can to fix it.
In my opinion allcoin is an exchange that should be used much more than it is.

Everyone has an exchange that they feel is best for them. There are a few big players like bittrex and cryptsy, but there are others that are very good exchanges also.
I am interested in knowing which exchange everyone thinks is the best one to use. Whether its a big player like Bittrex or maybe one that may be overlooked.
As long as it is a legitimate exchange that is not fly by night. Please don't use this to promote scam exchanges. I created this topic to try to help people find exchanges that are here for the long run.
Please include why you like the exchange you list here. Things like how old the exchange is, how active and professional. things like that.
I will keep updating and listing the results as we go.
*UPDATE*
Bittrex, Allcoin, Poloniex, Cryptsy and Bter seem to be peoples choice in that order.
A few negative comments for Cryptsy and Bter so I put them at the end.
