761  Economy / Speculation / Re: How long will bitcoin survive? on: September 17, 2016, 04:42:36 AM
Will bitcoin still be there in 2020 or will some other technology better than bitcoin take over?

Bitcoins will survive as long as various governments allow it to.  Smiley
About other technology, it is impossible to even dream up ways in which technology will evolve.
762  Economy / Economics / Re: WILL BITCOIN BE USED BY ALMOST EVERYONE IN 2022? on: September 17, 2016, 04:40:32 AM
It is a difficult goal, I believe something around thirty percent of the population would already be a major breakthrough for the bitcoin ecosystem, but the users would need to spread the word about Bitcoin to a much larger number of people.

30% is a tough ask. The world's population is around 7 Bn and 30% would constitute ~ 2 Bn.
The number of people with internet access is ~3 Bn. So what you are actually asking for is more than 65% of people with access to internet should start using Bitcoin.
763  Economy / Economics / Re: panic selling on: September 17, 2016, 04:37:58 AM
Panic selling has alot of effect on the price of bitcoin. What makes the price is selling and buying so whenever these events happen the prices tend to swing.
The best is for people to spend their bitc in a normal way this way we will only have price increases as more investors start to show interest.

That is not going to happen. People who bought in large amounts because they were greedy, will tend to dump if they feel that Bitcoin's value is decreasing. You can't ask them to sit still and spend slowly.
764  Economy / Economics / Re: English Pound VS Europe Euro Vs US dollar on: September 15, 2016, 01:31:18 AM
I believe some of these currencies is the strongest - this is the English Pound. Even in spite of the political events of the currency stable than the others. Euro trust the least.

the usd will always be on top, it was always on top since the start of this fiat money or i'm wrong? why something else should come on top aand beat it? it has the best spread in the world, no other currency can come close
There is no currency which will be always on top. If you study history of economy more, then you will see that every generation thought they achieved economic stability which in fact was total lie.
Since beginning of time empires rise and fall, and with them their money, you think that USA will be lasting forever just because it is the only thing we know?

Quick hint: total government debt in the United States is expected to be $22.4 trillion.

The point to note that the debt of the US is denominated in USD, which they can print.  Smiley
The US is leading a precarious life, but it is in everybody's interest for the US to stay stable. Instability would cause massive upheavals across the world.
765  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: September 15, 2016, 01:28:28 AM
indian cricket primiere league

Ruby Kanchi Warriors   Vs  Karaikudi

Ruby Kanchi Warriors rank 7,  Karaikudi rank 6
before match two team same lost
Ruby Kanchi Warriors   Tuti Patriots   145 : 150
Dindigul   Karaikudi  126 : 120

because Ruby Kanchi Warriors play in home i think can win

Nice to see this new event. But I don't know about these teams please share some more information about this series. Which players are playing international or domestic? But we have a chance to place a bet on this series. In Directbet site we can place our bet with Bitcoin. I think many people not aware of this series so please put full details of this event.
This is actually TamilNadu Premier league , wherein both domestic players and international players ( very few , like ashwin ) play together . Its hard to predict in these matches , since most of the players are domestic players , they are inconsistent and difficult to predict their performance.

Also , Kanchi warriors are in 7th position and Karaikudi are in 6th position right now. So I would say , they both are equally strong.
I think this TamilNadu Premier League is the first season. So we can not predict these matches and yes all are domestic players and very less international players are playing. So safer side stay away from these matches. Or take a risk and go with live betting. I will check few games if I find any good tipster here I will play.
I think live betting will be safer as many of these games are low scoring and easily predictable ( Not before the match but after the first innings ) , but I am pretty sure the odds would be too less. I would suggest all of you to just observe this tournament and pick out the list of good domestic players and bet next season .

I am not sure if there is enough betting interest in these matches.
Betting on cricket matches is illegal in India and if you want to do it, you need to do it online on foreign websites.
766  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-09-13] Russian Authorities Ban LocalBitcoins, Contradicting Previous State on: September 15, 2016, 01:26:26 AM
A lot of people who want to stay on the right side of the law won't use VPN to connect.
This will slowdown bitcoin adoption in Russia.  Sad
767  Economy / Speculation / Re: New ATH by July 2017 on: September 15, 2016, 01:25:25 AM
Pretty sure that we will be at an ATH somewhere next year. We never know how much time it will take to reach 1200+ dollars inside 2017 but it will be in 2017. It could be as soon as january or as late as december. It will be a good year.

Yes. What we need is a trigger to get going.
There are a lot of people who are waiting on the sidelines, for the right moment to get in.
768  Economy / Speculation / Re: When do you expect prices to fall on: September 07, 2016, 04:47:20 PM
I only think the price will fall when the bitcoin gets a hit from another currency like the dollar, if the dollar falls the bitcoin will also fall.
Of course I do not see this happen but if it will the bitcoin will also fall, right now there is no suspicion that the bitcoin will fall soon.

If the dollar is weak, bitcoin's price should increase in dollar terms.
However, that doesn't matter. When we talk about exchange rates (or prices), we should take into account purchasing power parity.
769  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-09-05] MIT Report: Blockchain for Banks - New Era or Lipstick on Pig? on: September 07, 2016, 04:39:59 PM
Definitely lipstick on pig.
Banks are trying to do just enough to stay relevant in today's world. The banking world is ripe for disruption.
770  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-09-06] Italian authorities seek to tax bitcoin assets on: September 07, 2016, 04:37:03 PM
Italian authorities seek to tax bitcoin assets
The Italian Revenue Agency has drafted a proposal on the introduction of tax in respect of assets in cryptocurrency. It implies paying taxes on bitcoin surplus value in case of the value growth.

Capital gains are taxable in most countries, albeit at reduced rates.
The Italian Revenue Agency has just stated the obvious in black and white.
771  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: September 07, 2016, 01:31:37 AM
Now Sri Lanka lost the hope to make comeback into that match, it's impossible to make 124 runs in just 26 balls when it has 4 wickets in hand, Glenn Maxwell played blasting innings for Australia and that is memorable performance of his career 145 runs not out in 65 balls, Australia already won this match at this stage.

Australia won by 85 runs. What a crushing defeat for Sri Lanka.
This is sweet revenge for Australia, after they lost the test series and their no #1 ranking to Sri Lanka.
772  Economy / Speculation / Re: Welcome back! $700 on: September 07, 2016, 01:29:34 AM
At the moment the value of the Bitcoin is around $600 but I am sure that sooner or later the price is going to rise again but I do not know when exactly it is going to happen.
We just have to wait it out and see if anything will happen this year.
i am hopeful that even in September the price of bitcoin is going to cross 700$ because after the the price of bitcoin will reach to 1200 USD at the end of 2016, so we can expect a rapid increase in the price of bitcoin.

You are right, we can expect the price of bitcoin to increase in this month as it already have started to increase in value and it is now not hard that we will see $700 in this month.

We just gained $30 and this has pleased everybody. To gain another $100 on the back of this seems unlikely.
We have no further positive triggers and the momentum looks unlikely to carry us that far.
773  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin can not replace fiat on: September 07, 2016, 01:00:50 AM
Or it may die because of being replaced by XMR Wink

XMR may be the flavour of the season, but it is not the solution to everything.
Bitcoin has its troubles, but they definitely can be overcome.
774  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Should I Choose Bitcoin ?? on: September 05, 2016, 07:43:28 AM
If it is good for merchants, it will be good for customers as well. It is only a matter of time before cost savings are passed back to customers.
The only losers in this are the middlemen (banks and credit card companies).

they'd have to discount seriously heavily to incentivize a customer to go through all the hassle of obtaining it. they often don't have a large amount of margin to play with for the stuff that people really want so I don't see where big enough savings could be made.

if people were getting paid in bitcoin then all this is moot. they ain't. so it isn't.

this is a concept that's a few years too early. don't get me wrong, I think it's great that there are so many places to spend coins, but it's something that serves existing holders, not new people.

That is right. If I already have bitcoins and there is an option of paying in fiat vs bitcoins, the additional discount might tempt me.
But in today's world, procuring new bitcoins and then spending them for a small discount is not worth it.
If it was easy to get bitcoins, purse.io wouldn't exist.  Smiley
775  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: September 05, 2016, 07:41:30 AM
As unpredictable it can be,Pakistan batsmen chased down the total to win the match, the second string of English bowlers could not handle it properly. Sarfraz Ahmed and the old horse Shoaib Malik played really well ,if shoaib didnt perform i was sure enough this could be his last series as he was not performing for sometime.

Pakistan just about managed to avoid a white wash. They are one of the bottom ranked teams in ODIs (not withstanding their top ranking in tests) and they showed why in this series. This victory is nothing but a consolation one.
776  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: September 04, 2016, 04:31:29 PM
Looks like England can't whitewash Pakistan.  They are in good position to win this match. Set batsmen sarfraz and malik are leading Pak to victory.  Although they need almost run per ball, they should play patiently and try to score big only on loose balls.

Pakistan seem to be determined to win this one. England have a defendable 300+ score, but Pakistan seem to be galloping towards it.
England need to get Sarfraz out quickly, in order to have any chance of winning this one.
777  Economy / Economics / Re: Are Bitcoin lovers in their own bubble? on: September 04, 2016, 04:28:46 PM
In fact BTC users group is not so small in the Web, but among all FIAT users this group is small. In further development BTC can not be developed in the shops, because main Blockchain wallet now have transfer times more than 20 minutes. But in making profit BTC is good, of course, just see, what happened this summer in June and July.  Grin

The transfer time that you quote is a problem. There is no consensus among developers about increasing the blocksize, but they have recognized that it is a bottleneck. June and July may have been good months for Bitcoin's price, but we all know that the price can crash just as easily.
778  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Should I Choose Bitcoin ?? on: September 04, 2016, 04:25:06 PM
uh, not one of those points benefits your average customer. it's all great for the merchants and businesses.

a customer has to find it, buy it and pay a premium in the process most likely, then they have to secure it, then they have to pay a fee to send it. they're not covered for losses or refunds.

bitcoin is amazing. it's also not of any use to your average person in their everyday life online or offline right now. I admire anyone who thinks otherwise but i'd also check their throat to make sure they ain't choking on kool aid.

If it is good for merchants, it will be good for customers as well. It is only a matter of time before cost savings are passed back to customers.
The only losers in this are the middlemen (banks and credit card companies).
779  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin rising to 600$ , pure manipulation ? on: September 04, 2016, 04:23:11 PM
12 hours ago (before I go to sleep) , the price was something like 575$ If I remember right , I woke up and found it 600$ (using preev.com rates) .
What could cause this price increase ? I checked some news websites and I couldn't find any obvious reasons , the only thing I read and I found interesting is Bitfinex paying their customers back from the HACK but I'm pretty sure It has nothing to do with the increase.

For whatever reasons it is it may possibly due to the growing need for bitcoins. Many are joining the community and many online businesses have opened. Many exchangers and platforms have opened. But for me it doesn't really matter as long as the price keeps increasing I will enjoy it and I will ear more cash from selling my bitcoins.

The problem is that the increase has happened in a few hours.
If it was really due to the growing need for bitcoins, the price increase should have happened over a few months, not in a few hours.
780  Other / Off-topic / Re: how bitcoin is popular in your country ? on: September 03, 2016, 07:27:12 AM
Everyone know that US is most country accepted bitcoin in major area and companies and the number of company accepted bitcoin are growing daily

But that not much article or post clear out how is popuplar of bitcoin in your country

This topic let sharing to us about users using bitcoin in your country

- What they normaly do with bitcoin in your country ?
- Do you think your country will replace US for number of bitcoin users in near future ?
not really i think in my place bitcoin is started to be known as many of my kababayans now already joined this forums and from time to time they keep on motivating our country men to invest with this currency in fact we do have now some support from local website which already accepting payment for bills and some shopping online.

Rather than trying to convince people to 'invest' in bitcoin, they should be shown the uses of Bitcoin.
Bitcoin is not just a viable long-term investment.  Smiley
