Make it that way:
- everybody is able to change the value without pin or password (like it is now) BUT
- if he decides to change the value providing a signed message then require a signed message if he wants to change the value in the future.

This is both Safe and Painless (at least for the users Grin).

That's what we're already implementing Smiley. However it doesn't help people that for some reason can't sign a message, so - based on the feedback after implementing it as an option - we may decide to require signing a message by everyone. ETA: up to 2 weeks.

Hmmmm... What if next to the payout threshold box will be a PIN Code installation button which you can only press once to set a password. When changing the threshold you will need to enter that PIN Code.

That's one of the ideas we have. However what about people that didn't set their PIN? Someone evil could set a PIN and then the real owner wouldn't be able to payout at all. The only way they could prove they're the owner then would be signing a message using an address, but most people have no idea how to do that (and some people use exchange addresses, where they don't have access to the private key).

I believe that the only sane way is signing messages from the very beginning. That way only real address owner can change the threshold. If the owner can't sign a message, they'll be stuck with the default lowest-possible threshold (which isn't that bad, at least they'll get the coins).

I hope that you are fixing the payout threshold thing so that only the owner can acces it.

No, it's not that. Only a server upgrade. We still haven't decided what will be the best way to restrict access to the threshold setting.

FaucetBOX.com will be down for maintenance, we're upgrading our infrastructure. Shouldn't take more than 30 minutes Smiley

do you plan to add more altcoins?
ripple, paycoin?

We won't add Paycoin in near future. It's the first time i hear about Ripple, so no for that one for now too. We'll probably implement Darkcoin, but no ETA yet.
thank you
Ripple is #2 on http://coinmarketcap.com/,  coin supply is great for faucet (no satoshis)

Looks like rippled JSON-RPC protocol isn't compatible with Bitcoin Core protocol, so it's very unlikely we'll add it this year.

Why all faucets pays to their website instead of Wallets of users directly Sad It would be nice if there is an open source faucet just like freebitco.in I guess

Because it's hard and expensive for faucet owners.

What do you mean exactly , does those FAUCETS actually take some fees or something when someone is running their faucet on their website

There's a lot of things that have to be done when running an independent faucet that:
1. it has to accumulate micro prizes, because it's impossible to send less than ~5k satoshi using Bitcoin network.
2. there's a fee to the network: 0.0001 BTC for each 1KB of transaction. It adds up fast. If you're not careful, you can end up spending more on network fees than you're sending to your users. One of my faucets was spending 20% of coins on fees. With FaucetBOX.com it's down to 3%, so with FaucetBOX.com faucets can give more to the users.
3. run a full-blown Bitcoin node (or use something like Blockchain.info API, but that's not so independent anymore).

A+ from me. Please keep up the great work Smiley

Agreed (I had issues and support helped me out tremendously and it really is easy to use). Thank you FaucetBOX! Cheesy

Thank you Smiley

You can see the expiration date in Whois.
But it will be renewed automatically?

We will renew it.

I think Reddcoins should be added to Faucetbox because it is still cheaper than Dogecoin.

I don't see how price is relevant Smiley

Here, I was hoping for Darkcoin, because it's the most searched-for-coin for faucets (based on my website counter stat page).

I'm actually testing Darkcoin, but I still have second thoughts about it. Looks like it's developing quickly and it needs to be updated a little bit too often.

Hi,
@Kazuldur: would you add another field "hitting bankruptcy in" into balance api response, so faucet owner could retrieve same information as from https://faucetbox.com/en/dashboard/stats page?

No, we won't add that to the API.

I've seen that Faucetbox has an expiration date.
Will it continue or expired.

Where did you see that? We don't plan stopping our service for now Smiley

If other crypto currencies planned for this service?

Yes. But no details and no ETAs for that yet.
774  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [ANN] FaucetBOX.com - free API & faucet script, create your own crypto faucet on: February 15, 2015, 05:05:51 PM
Do you know how to create a minimum payment option in within Faucetbox script.
Like automatic payment directly to faucetbox after reaching 4000 Satoshi

Out of curiosity: why would you want that?
775  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [ANN] FaucetBOX.com - free API & faucet script, create your own crypto faucet on: February 14, 2015, 12:22:52 PM
Humm this dosen't look a piece of cake to be honest , not even sure what Bitcoind is .

That's why FaucetBOX.com exists. It's not trivial, it's expensive (you have to pay enormous transaction fees or have enormous payout limits for users), it forces you to track balances of your users yourself and your users have to wait long time for their first withdrawal, because you need to have a minimal payout.

Most autonomous faucets I know use Blockchain.info API. My faucets used bitcoind (let's say that it's a server version of Bitcoin Core) and litecoind, but that's simply not worth it.
776  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [ANN] FaucetBOX.com - free API & faucet script, create your own crypto faucet on: February 14, 2015, 10:23:51 AM
Bug?

Yes and we're aware of that. It should say 120.81 DOGE, not satoshi of course Smiley.

I want to make a faucet on my website , but FaucetBox makes people who use my faucet to signup on their website , what I want to do on my faucet is make people able to withraw their money directly to BTC Adresses instead of FaucetBox account first then BTC addy

FaucetBOX.com users SHOULDN'T signup. Account is created automatically for address when they use it on any faucet. Then it's automatically withdrawn as soon as they reach the threshold. It's possible for user to never visit FaucetBOX.com and still get coins to their address from faucets using FaucetBOX.com. Only faucet owners should register using their email and password.

http://andyvn.cf

false advertising, all his faucet claims result in 1 satoshi added to balance
slightly more than he put on the page Smiley

It's not on our list for a long time now.
778  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [ANN] FaucetBOX.com - free API & faucet script, create your own crypto faucet on: February 13, 2015, 09:53:43 PM
It should be fixed now Smiley
779  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [ANN] FaucetBOX.com - free API & faucet script, create your own crypto faucet on: February 13, 2015, 05:57:43 PM
Yeah! It works. I see a few active users in overview of Real time stats.
But still saying 'Tracking not installed'. What does that mean ??

As I said, you just have to wait a few days Smiley. It simply means that Google Analytics bot haven't visited your website yet.
780  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [ANN] FaucetBOX.com - free API & faucet script, create your own crypto faucet on: February 13, 2015, 01:06:02 PM
Can anyone say how to add Google analytics to my Faucet.
I am using default templete of faucetbox and it's script

Add it in CSS text box(I did this) or banner text box. I was approved.

   -MZ

CSS box is a bad idea for scripts. Better add it to any ad box.

This doesn't works
I added it to top box. But still 'Tracking Not Installed'

Sometimes it took even a few days for me until Analytics detected it properly. Check the Realtime stats, if you something there then the code is installed properly.
