7601  Other / Meta / Re: How much spam is needed before we ban someone? on: March 07, 2019, 04:31:01 PM
Have you tried getting their attention through PM or any other means. What you/forum consider as spam, to the user it might not be spam. I went through users few post history and saw some post kinda average although mostly one line reply. Banning of user won't solve the problem since they can just create a new account and continue in their old ways.

That user isn't wearing a signature so I won't say he's posting for post count. Maybe a pm to inform users to increase his post quality might work (it worked for me). Banning won't always solve the problem.

What are technical challenges in implementing Block-chain infrastructure in support of digital currency being formally accepted by the National Banks?

One less plagiarizing spammer out there!

Now this a good reason to ban. o_e_l_e_o, case solved.

7603  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reminder: Your funds are NOT safe in third-party wallets on: March 07, 2019, 12:15:00 PM
There are lots of reasons why people used exchanges.

One of those reasons is due to fact they can't find a single wallet to hold all their coins/tokens because they invested in multiple shitprojects from misunderstanding the concept, "Don't keep all your eggs in one basket" not knowing it's ever worst when you keep your eggs in multiple unsafe baskets all in the name of investing in multiple source of income when technically they're investing in one (cryptocurrency investment).

Before we start advicing newbie to stop storing their coins on exchange, they have to first be educated on investing wisely.
7604  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Need opinion about Decentralized Gambling and Profit Sharing on: March 07, 2019, 09:15:09 AM
Those are just hype and will die off sooner than you think. As you can see, majority of the project listed aren't that old enough to be considered trustworthy. Beside I don't consider any project making use of the EOS blockchain as a decentralized project. The EOS blockchain doesn't just fit my definition of a decentralized blockchain.
7605  Economy / Economics / Re: What the true believers know but don't express well on: March 07, 2019, 07:04:43 AM
True believers are not Profit hunters.

That's accurate, Unlike the early days of bitcoin when majority of those who engaged with the currency were true believers that saw the technology as a revolution. These days those joining the community are profit seekers and they're coming in their numbers which is contributing destructively to the high level of fud and dip in price resulting from any negative news.
7606  Economy / Reputation / Re: "Last of the V8s" is filing fake scam reports on: March 07, 2019, 05:35:07 AM
I came to understand, feedbacks which aren't related to trade or scam like activities shouldn't be left with a positive or negative tag. The third option which is the neutral feedback should be used in a case if you feel the need lo leave a feedback.

Although realr0ach, you aren't supposed to worry about every feedbacks you get, the trust system isn't moderated people will always take advantage of that but you should know, most feedbacks are worthless, they don't contribute to your trust score.

V8 is now DT2, so it does effect his score.

Thanks for the information, I viewed his profile and didn't see a score could be because of my custom trust list.
7607  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Guide] Factors to consider before joining paid signature campaigns. on: March 07, 2019, 05:17:30 AM
That's one well-informative post despite having joined one.

By the way, you might want to add the "List of Signature Campaigns" thread in case there are people looking for them.

Thank you for the compliment, there's a reason why I didn't put that ongoing campaign thread in op, I didn't want interested members to relie on it because before the thread get updated most times with new campaigns, their  available slots most have been filled. Any user interested in joining should spend some time on the service board looking for new campaign still accepting participants
7608  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin could be used to pay for Bills, load and for travel in the Philippines on: March 06, 2019, 08:55:26 PM
But I wouldn't use Bitcoin to pay for anything that fiat can pay with unless it's very necessary, if I were you. Bitcoin is a provably scarce resource, don't waste it. HODL. Cool

I disagree, we have shifted from the main reason bitcoin was created to an asset used for just making money (that wasn't Satoshi intention for Bitcoin). I prefer using my bitcoin to buy anything the moment I get the chance to do so. It give me satisfaction then using fait. I own two set of bitcoin, one intended for my everyday activity and the other stored offline.
7609  Economy / Reputation / Re: Positive/Neutral Trust on: March 06, 2019, 07:10:43 PM
The neutral tag is been massively ignored so I don't see any thing bad in you trying to use it. The way I understand the trust system, your feedbacks are meant to show you trust someone, not someone trust you. In your case it's more appropriate if the buyer leaves a positive feedback on your account and you aren't meant to do the same since you didn't have to trust him, he was the one trusting you by paying you first. You can just use the neutral feedback as a way of appreciation.

PS: Anyone sending you PM just to gain reputation after successful trade is just trying to take advantage of your DTship and if I was in your shoes I won't leave feedback for such users.
7610  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Top 3 advices Regarding Bitcoin Investing on: March 06, 2019, 05:40:13 PM
If I was to advice a newbie trying to invest in bitcoin, my advice will go in this manner;

  • Stay focus on investing in bitcoin, don't get distracted by all the hype altcoin trying to be next bitcoin you might end up losing your money by investing in them
  • Never use exchange or web/App wallet as a permanent storing wallet for your coins, you can store few when you're planning on trading or using it for everyday activity.
  • Don't bite more than you can chew, invest with a capital you're ok with losing.

In addition, I'll let him understand the need to see bitcoin as more of a currency and don't get carried away by the asset value.
7611  Other / Meta / Re: It is extremely hard to gain merits on: March 06, 2019, 09:29:47 AM
It is hard enough that I have stopped trying.
<**>
It is very possible for excellent posters, for average not as much.

If you want to achieve higher ranks via the merit system, you need to stop thinking in this manner. In want ever your do, your mindset matters alot. Here's a motivation for you from my self-made full member, celebration post;

If there was any myth that an average poster (like myself) can't rank up due to the merit system then I have busted that myth.

It might take sometime as an average post to receive the required merits needed to rank up but if you keep on posting with the intention of helping others as each post is written with quality, you will surely achieve those set goals.

DON'T GIVE UP.
7612  Economy / Reputation / Re: [FUN] Is DdmrDdmr even human? on: March 06, 2019, 08:59:18 AM
Are you just noticing the DdmrDdmr account? To understand better you need dig deeper because his merit history won't tell you much, click on his post history and observe his posting style (pattern). You'll be amaze how identical they look but yet with different meaning and always on topic. The account is definitely been operated by an AI  lol Grin

-Why cure diseases and illnesses when profit can be made off them?

Exactly, an incident happened few years back in my country, The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation picked up interested in sponsoring a vaccine that'll reduce/stop the spread of malaria as it's the N01 cause of death in my country but the medical/pharmaceutical association in my country rejected the offer with the claim, malaria treatment is their main source of income and spraying the vaccine will stop their source of income.

It's quite shameful how humanity have placed valued on money over human life  and speaking of religion (church) that one have been turned into a full time business in my country. We now have more numbers and very well built churches than schools.
7614  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Celebrities you probably don't know were(are) aggressive gamblers on: March 05, 2019, 09:32:50 PM
How can you say we didn't Know Floyd Mayweather, Jr is into gambling (aggressive gambler) when his profession is known for gambling. I don't think mayweather's case is any news since he bet on himself for all his big fights and have won all.  Gambling is one of the ways boxers make money as the sport itself encourages it.

7616  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How are moderators for crypto projects recruited? on: March 05, 2019, 01:15:26 PM
If by moderators you mean campaign manager or community manager then you have to advertise yourself either via service board or in the various telegram group chat of the suppose project you're interested in. Note, most project only accept those with pass moderating (community management) experience therefore you should list some of yours in your resume.

If you don't have any experience you can start by appying to manage local telegram community (groupchat) of well known project and build your Reputation from their.

Here are some examples;
Looking For Work
Looking for a job as telegram moderator

7618  Other / Meta / Re: It is extremely hard to gain merits on: March 05, 2019, 10:31:59 AM
I honestly haven't looked to much into the merit system to see how they are generated or if there is a reason on why one would not want to give them away but wouldn't it be easier to have a system in place such as that seen in stackexchange?

Glad you admitted you haven't looked into the merit system that much, that could be the reason for your suggestion. If you observe the merit system, you'll come to a conclusion that it's truely doing the job it was intended for. We have limited amount of smerits generated by theymos then distribute to merit sources and the main reason users aren't recieving that merit is due to the quality of their posts.

Another reason could be the board you're posting in that's why a Reputed merit source created this thread; [self-moderated] Report unmerited good posts to Merit Source to enable merit sources get access to quality posts in boards they aren't active in.

OP if you feel you have written some quality post and it went unmerited, make use of the thread; UPDATED [05/03/2019]: List of Active Merit Giveaways threads. there are numerous of higher ranked members ready to help users with your rank status.
7619  Other / Meta / Re: Animated avatars already disabled on: March 05, 2019, 09:28:24 AM
So it means the current ones will remain active and if we try to add a new one then it will not work?

Yes that's how it's going to work. same thing happened when ranks from jnr member below were restricted from wearing avatar, users already wearing one could still keep their avatar but new members couldn't wear one.
7620  Economy / Reputation / Re: Spamming by PM (Probably paid PM spammer) on: March 05, 2019, 06:46:02 AM
This is definitely a paid ad pm spam, and users is not just pm spamming but also promoting SIFR on thread as seen here http://archive.is/5sYoD. The user that sent you the pm have merited sifr.com previously too.

PM spamming from previous ban appeal thread will earn user a 7 days ban therefore you did the right thing by reporting them and other users who received such pm should user the report to admin button to provide more proof of pm spam so admin can do the needful.
