Right now I am using airbitz, but I do think it is better to use a desktop client, but as the bitcoin.org site says, most of them are vulnerable to the enviroment, or in other words the OS, I know I am being a little paranoid but it is money (I would feel better to keep my money in a place were no malware or keylogger can get it), so lets say I choose Electrum, how do I start?, I create my wallet, I buy some bitcoin, like $20 worth, then I how should I proceed?, how do I create a paper wallet? and then transfer the money to that wallet, or should I just use the same wallet, but keep a copy in paper? I know you said paper or cold wallets are better for large amounts or money but in time maybe I will buy more and I would want to keep it secure. Thanks all for your responses Get a Trezor. |

You only full member. He will never choose you. I also mistake when post address at thread. No! The way he wrote the OP, he was giving 0.02 to the first person to reply and that person had to be senior member and above. Subsequently he was going to chose 5 members at random and give 0.01 BTC. There is nothing there which indicates any rank at all is required. That being said, i'm not sure bitcoin giveaways are allowed though I have seen a specific rule against altcoin giveaways. |

and then within 5 minutes @ 2016-04-29 19:42:55 you are sending the change from here 1DkMNcuvdS6CBQT5vACZzS18Rv879NuGb4 to here 1B2JjBsT6Awuqhmk6uCYwxDMvHARteJxSj which is your "Watch only" address. These transactions will never leave your wallet so you wont see the balance change.
That being said, blockchain.info or any other wallet I have used does not reuse addresses for change unless you specifically request this. Considering there are other movements to already used addresses within your control, it seems you are not telling us the whole story which makes it difficult to understand what your problem is or in fact is there is a problem. I am presently of the mind that there is no actual problem other than your understanding of how wallets work?
edit: Okay maybe it's I who doesn't understand. You were asked to supply the private key of your "watch only" address because you transferred coins from your wallet back into that address? Perhaps it has something to do with the way blockchain.info handles inter-wallet transfers. Do you have any other information?

There are no facts I know of why Gavin Andresen's creditability should take any hit so far.
The fact that Gavin has said he believes this guy to be Satoshi when his false signature claim was debunked within hours shows that Gavin has lost all credibility (where is Gavin's response to the debunking?). Someone who (still?) likes to call himself the Chief Bitcoin Scientist (although he should not be using such a title as he doesn't even have commit access to the repo now) should lose all credibility for simply being so easily fooled. I'm hoping Gavin wasn't really there because he was out taking in the London scenery while the meeting took place and he was simply using second-hand info garnered from Jon. |

LOL, I grew up in a LEO/intelligence family and it is always entertaining to see what people think the CIA does. Comedy gold.  Do you understand the idea of compartmentalization? What the guy posted is bitcoin news-worthy... maybe not hot news, but it's still news-worthy.
No question about that but the guy posts 3 or 4 links with excerpts and no other comment in the span of few minutes. There are a few other posters like this and most have sigs. It seems disingenuous. |

This is still in the wrong section. You're buying likes so it belongs in marketplace. That being said, you can probably buy more likes for your video for less money and without all the pomp. So what if you convince a bunch from India with no skin in the game to like your Trump video for Bernicoins? I guess its your loss.

holding bitcoin is hurting it.
Does holding gold & silver hurt either one of those investments? Ummmm.... [image redacted for brevity] ...with respect to what? It's feelings or my portfolio? I'm not talking about any time frame in particular, I mean does holding it (as opposed to spending it) hurt it as an investment. Okay so for gold and silver I would have to say "no" but it is hard to compare them to Bitcoin in that respect. There aren't many places to "spend" gold and silver as they are not recognized as a currency; rather a commodity. Bitcoin was meant to be a currency so holding it as a commodity probably is doing it a disservice since ultimately the reward for mining will only be transaction fees and few transactions means small reward for miners. I'm no expert but I plan to hold some coins, spend some coins and continuously refresh my stock similar to what I do with the fiat I earn working. |
