Si tienes un error en el proceso, pongamos que codificas mal en algún caso la traducción del binario (columna de la izquierda) al decimal (y de allí a la palabra de la lista bip 39), la palabra resultante a ese caso será igualmente aleatoria, con suficiente entropía. Lo que si puede suceder es que si alguien utiliza como respaldo la cadena binaria (por ejemplo, como código guardado a modo de parte de un dibujo o algo parecido), ésta debe corresponder exactamente al número decimal que originó la palabra correspondiente de la lista bip39. Si no fuese así, lo iba a pasar canutas para recuperar sus Bitcoins a partir del binario … En lo relativo a la segunda pregunta, si la wallet es de confianza (Electrum por ejemplo) y es la versión original y correcta, no tiene por qué haber problema alguno. |

Es decir, te pueden congelar o suspender el servicio de la misma manera. Ni siquiera puedes enviar BTCs a otra cuenta Paypal ni pagar un producto o servicio con ellos (son liquidados a FIAT primero, con las comisiones de turno). |

En la página web del banco tienen información colgada al respecto: https://gazprombank.ch/crypto-blockchain-services/La información esgrime como argumento de venta que gestionan cuentas en Bitcoins, con lo que los clientes transfieren el riesgo de tener que custodiar los Bitcoins por ellos mismos, a un banco Suizo (aunque sea una rama de un banco Ruso). Este va a ser el argumento de venta de los bancos, y para gran parte del público objetivo, acostumbrados a la custodia por parte de terceros, y poco tecnológicos, va a ser un argumento válido. No todo el mundo está capacitado para ser su propio banco, ni quiere. La custodia la llevan a cabo en principio a través de Metaco ( https://www.metaco.com/press_releases/metaco-and-avaloq-to-roll-out-silo-at-gazprombank-by-mid-2019/), lo cual parece ser el patrón a seguir (recurrir a partners custodios). Efectivamente, Bitfinex no moverá un dedo para resolver el problema si el importe de la TX tiene un contravalor menor de 2,5K$ ( https://support.bitfinex.com/hc/en-us/articles/360006262533-Deposit-of-wrong-tokens-or-wrong-addresses). Digamos que es el punto de corte para que se molesten en intentar recuperar los fondos enviados a la dirección equivocada de otra cadena. Ellos pueden en principio intentar el proceso, para lo que precisarán acceder a las claves privada del Litecoin en este caso, y como este proceso es manual y tedioso, determinan el punto de corte en 2,5K$ para ponerse a intentarlo (y luego está el fee de recuperación en todo caso). Lo de la dirección cambiada, no lo tengo claro, pero si tu dirección Litecoin empezaba con ‘M’, que es lo habitual, es posible que lo hubiese traducido a la versión '3' (ver https://cryptofacilities.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360006040974-Litecoin-Address-Format). |

Entiendo que te refieres a la seguridad jurídica, no ante ataques de terceros. Bitcoin efectivamente tiene un potencial escollo asimétrico en este terreno, no como sujeto activo, sino un tanto a expensas de lo que determine cada país. Rusia por ejemplo ha jugado con prohibirlo, y ahora se ha decantado por delimitar lo que los particulares pueden llegar a invertir por año en Bitcoin (a partir del 2021). Lo mismo no obstante le puede pasar a cualquier otra criptomoneda, pero si lo miramos globalmente, la tendencia es a asimilar su aceptación y regular su uso, sobre todo en los países más democráticos. Monedas como la que propone JP Morgan, o Euro Digital y demás, son una suerte de stablecoin, que nada tienen que ver con Bitcoin. Es cierto que Bitcoin nació con la idea de liberarse de las ataduras de los bancos, y con la intención de ser utilizada libremente en transacciones p2p, pero hoy por hoy, tiene una connotación más convergente con una reserva de valor/inversión/especulación, y aunque también crecen los casos de uso operativos, es probable que otras monedas le adelanten en un uso comercial extendido. Cada una deberá encontrar su posición, y habrá la lucha por ganar en el terreno operativo (donde la regulación y los lobbies de poder tendrán su rol de peso). El beneficio colateral que aportan estas monedas, es el de poner las criptomonedas más de relieve entre las masas. Bitcoin se beneficia de este acercamiento a las masas, y aunque es posible que se quede con menos protagonismo comercial y más como un activo (especulo), hoy por hoy es la moneda que aporta mayor confianza, seguridad, independencia y libertad. No es perfecta ni mucho menos, y no hay garantías de que sea la moneda Reina para siempre, pero mientras mantenga la confianza como bandera, seguirá siendo la que marque el ritmo, al menos en el terreno del valor. |

El tema es que este hilo ha ido muy bien para ir elaborando la construcción de los casos a analizar más interesantes, pero el hecho de haber creado uno nuevo en la sección en inglés me ha permitido ordenar mejor la información resultante, con todas las tablas de datos en los primeros posts. La actualización de los hilos lleva un rato, y es por eso que prefiero hacerlo únicamente en un único hilo. Llevo un par de semanas haciendo es actualizar los datos en el hilo en inglés, de manera que allí están refrescados a fecha de ayer, aunque creo que no lo actualizaré más que una vez al mes a lo sumo. En todo caso, si queremos ver algo distinto, podemos verlo aquí sin problemas. Nota: Lo de los números de cada cual, no hay que hacerlos demasiado caso. Hay muchas casuísticas detrás, si bien el denominador común es el tiempo que los que tienen más méritos han podido/querido dedicarle al foro. Looking at it another way round, more than half of the people have a moderate-to-high chance that their Bitcoins will not be inherited, which goes to show that things are not as easy as we may think, and that there’s still a stretch between what we plan in our minds, and what we effectively roll-out towards a contingency inheritance plan.
Perhaps an interesting 30-60 minute xMas exercise, based on the above, would be to proof-test our inheritance plans, performing a drill, whereby the scenario hypothesized in the OP is the basis for a run-through on our plans alongside our heirs. We should stand-by as silent observers, and see how it plays out. I’m guessing that the drills won’t go as well as some of us thought …

Yo probaría también desactivar el antivirus por completo (tipo 5 o 10 minutos), y ver si aun así el problema persiste. Me suena muy remotamente haber tenido que hacer algo así con un problema de puertos (por otro tema), y de alguna manera, el antivirus estaba dando por saco. Si estás en Windows, por probar, también probaría arrancar en modo seguro con red y ver qué sucede, por ir probando escenarios y descartar conflictos de algún tipo. |

Los ponentes son Javier Ibargûen y Mire Acosta, donde el primero explica en esencia el Análisis Técnico, y la segunda se centra en el Análisis Fundamental. Javier es de las personas más estructurada y didácticas que he visto en estas ponencias por ahora, sin irse por los cerros de Úbeda con tecnicismos adelantados al escuchante. Habla sobre los tipos de trading (Scalping, Day Trading, Swing Trading, Position Trading), e introduce su posicionamiento sobre estrategias y control de riesgo. Es una clase introductoria, y no esperemos un despliegue tremendo de indicadores y demás, sino una entrada suave a un trading digamos que más bien tranquilo, sin estar estresado todo el día. Mire introduce elementos a controlar bajo el paraguas del Análisis fundamental: Noticias, rumores, Tweets, legislación, etc., elementos que complementan el análisis técnico explicado previamente.

Personally, a hardware wallet (Ledger or Trezor) or Electrum if you want something for free. In the former case, you need to make sure you make the purchase at the merchant’s original site (or an authorised reseller), but even so, you need to be wary of what you receive (see Even if you buy a hardware device from an authorised reseller, you need to check). For the latter, you need to assure you are downloading from the proper site, and ideally verify the signature of the download (see GUIDE] How to Safely Download and Verify Electrum [Guide]). 2) Do these wallet programs allow you to buy and sell BTC?
Not if they are non-custodial, which is what you are looking for. Ledger does now let you buy from within Ledger Live, although you are really going through a partner of theirs, and it may not be the one you’d prefer to use. 3) If I use a hardware wallet, cold wallet etc, how do I go about cashing out crypto? Do I have to use an Crypto Exchange? Are the fee's going to be similar no matter what I use?
Yes. You’d generally have to move them over to the Exchange to sell them, at the TX fees reigning at the time (you can play around with the fees as I’m sure someone will point out later on). I am just looking for a better place to park my BTC. Coinbase fees for sending to another wallet are crazy high. I am hoping to avoid this if possible along with having a wallet that I control the keys to.
You can’t avoid the Network fees of moving your BTCs to and fro between the Exchange and whatever wallet you settle for. You’d have to choose the right time to do it to get lower TX fees. Coinbase Pro seemed to take care of withdrawal fees until recently, but not anymore (see https://www.cryptoryancy.com/the-complete-guide-to-coinbase-fees-and-how-to-avoid-them/). I know this is probably asked a lot and I apologize. I just wanted to see what you may use and if you would recommend any specific setup?
I have the ability to backup anything on my PC to external hard drives and to cloud storage.
I personally go for hardware wallets, and if I use Electrum, It’s through a linked hardware Ledger wallet. Hardware wallets still require you to be very careful where you store your 24 word mnemonic (i.e. not on the pc, backup not cloud), which becomes your weak point (hardware wallets do not exempt one from the responsibility to keep/backup/store the 24 word mnemonic safely). If you pretend to trade frequently, you may ponder leaving something on the exchange to save on fees, albeit a smallish amount (just in case something nasty should happen to the Exchange). All in all, remember that being your own bank is better on principle, but it comes with security responsabilities. <…> Lastly, I was thinking of downloading the current BTC blockchain to an external drive. It’s not for mining really (not the version you’d use), but it does help the network and give you more privacy. You can check it out, but it’s certainly more cumbersome and technical than using a hardware wallet or electrum. |

Qué quieres que te diga, el hype mediático del ATH …
Me sonaba desde bastante antes, aunque no soy capaz de hacer arqueología en mi memoria para darle una fecha orientativa veraz al vago recuerdo previo. Fue en uno de esos artículos que lees, y no suscita mucho más interés que lo que dura la lectura en sí. Prueba de ello es que no lo miré hasta que fue inevitable mirarlo (tarde, claro está, o mucho más tarde de los deseable).
Ya durante el ATH, empujado por una pequeña voz (o voz de un pequeño realmente, que estaba más atento que yo), empecé a leer y a (des)invertir algo en esto del Bitcoin (y Alts, e ICOs). Ya ves, ni cypherpunk ni nada por el estilo en mi caso como origen …
