7601  Other / Meta / Re: How to deal with spammers bumping old threads? on: December 22, 2016, 10:29:30 AM
Talking about necro and here is a fresh example
The last participation was posted on 18 July 2016 but as always a newbie came after 5 months exactly in 21 December 2016 to spam... Well he only quoted a previous post without adding any word... then a junior member makes a useful post! Followed by 4 sig participants posting general random digested ideas
Maybe they didn't pay attention? But this scam was famous and discussed over and over in many topics months ago!!
Should I report every post or just the first random? Deleting these posts + nuking the newbie + a warning for those members is a must tho...

7602  Economy / Speculation / Re: touch down to 800$ is near on: December 22, 2016, 10:15:15 AM
Better to change the name of the topic to '' touching down to $900 is near'' since the price of bitcoin is above $850 in all the exchanges
Exactly around $870 in the western one and $885 in the Chinese  Shocked
Seems promising  Wink
7603  Other / Meta / Re: How to deal with spammers bumping old threads? on: December 21, 2016, 11:14:21 AM
Report the users who bump the old threads to their signature campaign managers. Because most of such bumps are done with the only purpose to gain "post count" (unless we talk about genuine newbies). And in such cases warning and/or kick out of signature campaign because of spam will make them learn.
I don't know if it's too harsh, but .. well.. it's an idea....
There was an annoying newbie spammer yesterday that was trying to bump up his post count pretty quickly by replying to year old threads just with variants of "I'm interested" etc and then about 5-10 other Sig spammers and farmers would post something of the same and it's very time consuming to delete all the responses.

It is annoying and some people dislikes it so they call the necro guy to stop doing it and call the mods to lock that topic
In the other hand in my opinion the necro newbie is just an alt of a sig guy who try to increase his posts so he may answer just after the necro or wait few posts after few members to avoid being busted

Hilariousandco idea is great and what botany said is logic and i asked the same question months ago but what i suggest in the meantime is to delete the spammy posts after the necro one without exception and manually lock the topic until the previous idea come to life
If someone is trying to open a real discussion about the same locked topic he can open a new one then mention the locked one in his post or copy the text and put it on a quote.

Congratz erryone, and I just won a bet on betmoose Tongue
Bitcoin above $800 before Jan 2017

It is a bet normally you send the amount to an address so when you win it gets multipled and when you lose you will get nothing
For now Congratulations everyone bitcoin is rewriting history with a new (not exactly but a better) and a solid (i hope) record  Smiley
The promising thing is that the Chinese still leading with ~$8 difference
7605  Other / Meta / Re: Activity & new membergroup limits on: December 21, 2016, 10:43:23 AM
The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

i don't quite understand what time is in terms of 2 week periods. Just to clarify, if i joined on jan 1 and it is feb 1 today, does that mean time=2?

Hey the activity increases by +14 biweekly in Tuesday
Here is the spreadsheet where you can find the dates of the change of the activity,  it was mentioned in a previous post here

7606  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-12-18]Bitcoin worth has exceeded $ 800 on the exchanges in China on: December 21, 2016, 10:37:54 AM
From what I noticed the Chinese exchanges is always ~ +$10 in advance of the other exchanges which will follow it in the next hours or days
Well of course this may be not accurate and a dump / correction may happens at any moment
In my opinion the price will pass $800 in the most exchanges in the next days  Smiley

And as i told you boys the bitcoin price is sitting between $807-809 in the most western exchanges and at $816 in the Chinese exchanges  Wink
Hope it will keep rising or at least don't fall under $800 again  Smiley
7607  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-12-18]Bitcoin worth has exceeded $ 800 on the exchanges in China on: December 19, 2016, 04:26:32 PM
This would also mean that the other exchanges will follow china's exchange. This news will mean that all other exchanges will reach $800 and probably more before the end of the year. I do hope it does continue and more people adopts bitcoin so the prices will sustain that rise. But, some say that the prices might fall because of correction.

Here is the price in the different exchanges for the moment
The lowest one is BTC-e with $781.5
The highest prices is in those Kraken $799.2 and the Chinese exchanges of course
BTCC $800.76 ; OKCoin $801.07 and Huobi $801.24  Smiley
7609  Economy / Speculation / Re: touch down to 800$ is near on: December 18, 2016, 02:42:28 PM
I know all of us is waiting for bitcoin to get pass that super hard wall to break 800$ mark. The long wait is over bitcoin will gonna break that wall anytime this week. And before christmas it should be 850$. Believe me.

Checking the price like 3 times per week and I see a nice rise from ~$730 to ~$790 with a slight spikes/drops within hours
And yes breaking $800 barrier is possible before January 2017 in my opinion Smiley
7610  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where profitable mining with GPU or Cloud Mining? on: December 18, 2016, 02:33:58 PM
Cloudmining is a scam most of the time (specifically ponzi if you wanted to get into specifics, but it doesn't really matter). Most cloudmining companies aren't legitimate, but hosting on the other hand can be. If you want to mine but can't get good electrical rates, check out hosting. You technically own the miner and it can be sent to you at any point in time.

If you mean by hosting, mining bitcoin in another computer then I wouldn't recommend that because it breaks the host's terms and you risk to lose your money.
Better for the one having a cheap/free electricity to invest his money and buy s7...
7611  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-12-01]7.8billion Bank Accounts Affected by China’s New Regulation on: December 14, 2016, 10:55:22 PM
Quote
As stipulated by the new rules, an individual can only have one Type-I account with a particular bank. For those who already have a Type-I account with a bank, they can only open Type-II or Type-III accounts with that bank.

I didn't get what is the problem if you can open a type I account in another bank since it isn't specified in the law? You don't have the right to open a type I in the same bank only, no?
Bitcoin is implemented in this article as a competitor of Alipay... Well if Alibaba adopt bitcoin we will see a huge boost in the price and in the transactions otherwise I don't see a link in this article. Am I wrong?
7612  Other / Meta / Re: A new tactic employed by die-hard account farmers? on: December 12, 2016, 12:04:16 PM
I figured it out, they have say 100 accounts enrolled in yobit and they post the same message to each account and wait for you yobit to credit it, and then they delete it and post it on another account

No i don't think so.
Yobit counts your posts every day and afaik if you delete a post today then the next day you will start with -x posts if you delete x posts.

For example: yobitfarmer has 100 posts. Today he spammed 20 posts and get credits for it, then he deleted these 20 posts just after, the total now is 100 posts. So the next day even if he makes another 20 posts he will not get anything unless he makes +120 posts in total. This is afaik how the bot works.
7613  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-08-17] Bitcoin.com adds functionality for buying BTC with a credit card on: December 11, 2016, 07:33:43 PM
...
But, last week I tried again to buy some $300 worth.  This time a no-go.  They wanted pictures of ID (which previously they did not).   That is not only a gross privacy invasion, but a real hassle for me.

What is the point of using bitcoin if your ID / your transaction and everything related to the purchased money is known for the other people?
Wasn't aware of this service before otherwise I used it in the past few weeks since I wanted to purchase few btc but definitely will not reveal my identity to anyone...
7614  Other / Meta / Re: A new tactic employed by die-hard account farmers? on: December 11, 2016, 07:10:06 PM
If I'm not confusing something, I remember some Legendary member with almost all his posts deleted, but he still remained in that rank. If what you say is true, then he should have been lowered to a newbie, right?

Legendary and hero members will not lose their ranks title even if they deleted all their posts but for the other ranks they will definitely afaik

Could anyone confirm that, or is it just me going slightly mad?

Neither me deisik can understand what is the point of theses acts
An account farmer needs to make posts as much as possible thus deleting it isn't helpful for him at all
Maybe he is testing his posts with another random account before posting it with the account in question but I would ask why?  What is the point of all of this?

discuss it later, for now just wait.
7616  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Referendum in Italy Which could lead them to leave the EU on: December 05, 2016, 12:14:19 AM
This referendum has nothing to do with the remaining/leaving the UE. In both cases Italy will remain in EU.

staying or leaving the EU is not related to this referendum directly but the resign of the prime minister after this fail will endorse the other parties including the one requesting to leave the fallen union Tongue
