7621  Other / Beginners & Help / [Publicity] For accuracy, add any 3 DT members form this list to your CTL. on: March 03, 2019, 07:58:18 AM
For accuracy, add any three DT members form the list below to your custom trust list.

There are some information that aren't been used as lack of publicity have made it difficult to find. The whole new trust system is no longer a news as numerous thread have been started, explaining how to use it and it's benefits to users.

I came across a thread on meta titled; Should forum persuade users of the merits of customized trust lists? and when you come to think of it, the OP was correct. There isn't enough thread emphasising on the usefulness/benefits of a custom trust list. I can only remember [Explained] Importance of Custom Trust List.

I know as a newbie interested in customizing your trust list it's kind of difficult if you haven't traded with any user to trust their judgement or familiar with the active scammer busters that's where the forum comes in. There's a solution to help you choose the right forum user to improve the accuracy of your trust system.

Quote
Quote from forum;
To improve the accuracy of the trust system for you, you must select at least three people from the below list who you personally trust. If you don't know any of the users listed, you should pick 10-20 users at random, being careful not to select any users who you know to be untrustworthy.

Here's the list to suggested users from forum

I believe the procedure is self explanatory, you just have to tick the box next to the DT members name you trust and click done then their names will appear on the advance trust list space.

7622  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can I increase my merits? on: March 03, 2019, 06:30:59 AM
I have done 30 activities, but my rank is still a newbie. I thought after doing 30+ activities rank would be increased.

Your questions contradicts each other let me explain what I meant. First you ask a question only a old forum users or someone that knows how the previous ranking system works will know.

How does the new ranking system work? How can I increase my merits?

Then you ask another question first acting like you don't know how the new system works but again you asked how to get merit (that serves as a requirement) in the new system.

OP you're trying to play smart but lets say you're truly asking like someone who doesn't know then read this thread;
FAQ: Everything you need to know about forum 'activity, account ranks and merit

And if you feel you have written some quality posts that went unmerited due to one reason or the other, participate in;
UPDATED [20/02/2019]: List of Active Merit Giveaways threads.
7623  Other / Meta / Re: Should forum persuade users of the merits of a customized trust lists? on: March 02, 2019, 02:32:33 PM
Dedicated promo might include banners, PMs sent to those users who earned > 10 merits, special topics that highlight the benefits of CTL etc..

Any view in this?

Not everyone is interested in the whole Trust (DT) politics therefore the forum shouldn't pressure them into getting a custom trust list. Personally I wasn't interested too until earlier this year when I picked interested and made my custom trust list after viewing numerous thread started on the whole trust, CTL, and DT system especially this thread;

All the thread relating to CTL started on the forum are already doing the job of advertising therefore, sending  PMs will just be a sign of desperation from the forum.
7624  Other / Meta / Re: [Feature request] Chat box in bitcointalk on: March 02, 2019, 02:14:50 PM
A chat box can be useful in many ways like how we have in gambling and exchange sites.
I wish to have a chat box here, it may be helpful to have instant solutions/answers for some emergency situations.

Didn't you notice the way those chat room are been abuse in those sites you saw them in? Introducing a chat room to the forum will just increase the rate of paid spam messages and discussions.
The forum is that active that if you got any issue and make a thread about it in less than 10mins you'll get a repond that's only if you post in the right board. so I don't see any reason a chatroom should been added to forum.
7625  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Exit strategy on: March 02, 2019, 09:44:26 AM
When it comes to exchanging (trading) i do not prefer to trade with coinbase, i use binance so if i was to sell it'll be binance. Apart from altcoin (inwhich i sell all my holdings each time i make 10x) i haven't sold all my bitcoin holding so i don't have a exit strategy for bitcoin instead i sell when ever i need to take profit and rebuy when the market dips.
7626  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: March 02, 2019, 07:08:06 AM
what is happening with Tottenham?

They'll bouces back with the Arsenal game coming up. Lets not forget they were on a winning run of 4 straight wins before losing two games back to back. Tottenham has the upper hand when it comes to playing Arsenal therefore, here's my prediction for the Tottenham vs Arsenal game

Tottenham vs Arsenal is going to be a very close match and interesting one to watch. It's a 50:50 game although I hope Arsenal losses but that won't be that easy since Arsenal has a current record of 4wins 1loss in their last 5 games played in all competition with 12 goals

Meanwhile Tottenham recent performance isn't that convincing but from history as seen in the image below Tottenham has won 3, drawn 2 in the last 7 meeting of these two clubs. Therefore my bet is on Tottenham as it'll favour me as a Chelsea fan.

7627  Economy / Reputation / Re: An obvious case of trust abuse (DT members welcome) on: March 01, 2019, 11:05:14 PM
If you can't resist leaving feedback in cases like this, then the "neutral tag" ignored by most members (including myself until I was notified) should be encourage to be used. Just as the below user stated on one of my previous thread

If it is your intention to enlighten others on the use of the system, perhaps promote the 3rd option. I personally see Neutral as a tool for notes on the account/users behavior whether positive or negative, but not a scam/trade dispute.

I believe leaving feedback for that offend isn't worth Red tagged but again the trust system isn't moderated so what can we say.

The trust sender should note,
Update from theymos
I do not view it as appropriate for trust ratings to relate primarily to non-trust matters.
In particular, in my view:
 - Giving negative trust for being an annoying poster is inappropriate, since this has nothing to do with their trustworthiness.
7628  Economy / Reputation / Re: Community opinion on Signature campaign spreadsheets on: March 01, 2019, 10:34:59 PM
I voted yes. I also have a question,

As majority of voters have voted yes (including reputed users) can this be translated into a factor to consider before joining a paid signature campaign?. If the community believe making spreadsheet public is very important should users be discourage from joining campaigns that don't publicize their spreadsheets.

Sorry reply is kinda off but I need answer so I can update this thread: Factors to consider before joining paid signature campaigns.

7630  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Which are some good instant exchange that does not require login? on: March 01, 2019, 08:38:45 PM
Try Currency Exchange section of the forum.

OP this'll be the best option as I can't find any instant exchange that doesn't require login to trade (without a scam accusations) after carryout some online research. Although I found numerous exchange tagged {exchange that requires little or no ID verification to trade}. If you're trying to stay anonymous then I suggest mercatox (although it requires login but needs no verification to trade below 1 BTC and doesn't need valid credentials to trade below 1BTC also) therefore you can still achieve the experience you wanted to have with an anonymous exchange on mercatox (as you can pose as anyone to trade below 1BTC).
7631  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ASK- Which tokens to buy if you are a beginner/noobies/baby/beansprout? on: March 01, 2019, 06:10:05 AM
First thing first own some bitcoin, they're in limited supply (only 21million) and there won't be another bitcoin in future. All those token you'll get as suggestion will someday get replace by better competitors or can run out of business in the next second but there'll be no cryptocurrency without bitcoin.

Therefore as a newbie before you draft out strategy or budget to buy any token (shitcoin) first buy some Satoshi.
7632  Other / Meta / Re: 3 separate posts on separate threads deleted - which mods and who reported? on: March 01, 2019, 06:03:22 AM
I won't be surprised that your replies get deleted, I mean have you read your replies out to yourself? Most of then sounds off topic even when you're trying to make a point. You beat around the bush too much especially insulting other forum member calling them all sorts of names before you get to the point why you wrote your post in the first place.

You need to cut down on these, it's becoming a repeated habit and now suchmoon just unignored you so more reporting is on the way.
7633  Other / Meta / Re: Who exactly told theymos to change the threshold to 250 cycled merits? on: February 28, 2019, 08:46:47 PM
Firstly it's a new DT system therefore using activity will just favour a particular set of forum users (early forum users). That's why the merit is been used. With the merit criteria any set of users can be voted into the DT system be them old or new users. Which makes it fair and decentralized to me since theymos doesn't have a say only the community can decide who's voted in or out.
7634  Other / Beginners & Help / [Guide] Factors to consider before joining paid signature campaigns. on: February 28, 2019, 12:04:58 PM
Related topic: {Facts} Benefits of promoting (joining) a quality paid signature campaign.

I notice the sudden interest of newbie/jnr members wanting to join signature campaigns, starting thread on this board in the past few weeks. I recommend you read this post Signature Campaign Guidelines (read this before starting or joining a campaign) and in addition to the above topic I'll list some factors you should consider before joining a paid signature campaign irrespective of your rank because the signature you wear speak alot about you on forum.

[1]: Build your account before joining a campaign.

I consider this as the most important factor to consider before joining a campaign. If you haven't built your account don't go joining a campaign because it'll only distract you. It's more benefiting to join paid campaigns as Full member but joining as a self made member isn't that bad also. Take your time to built your account, there'll be more campaign in the future. Don't be in a rush to earn via forum.

[2]: Join a campaign you agree with and not just for the payout.

If you're the type that dislike gambling or have no idea on how it works, don't go joining a gamble campaign just because they pay better. It will lead you to spamming and most times posting off topic.

View this as an example.

The user in question is promoting/wearing a gamble related signature but speaking bad against the board isn't that contradicting what he's advertising. Join a campaign you agree with don't join just because of payouts.

[3]: Consider Weekly maximum post required.
Avoid campaigns that requires high number of maximum posts weekly, such campaigns does the forum no good and only encourages spamming. Evaluate your posting skills and from your post history determine what your average weekly post is, don't just up into any campaign that'll end you up with rapid increase of post counts without adding value to the forum.

[4]: Join a campaign that encourages quality posting:
Consider the bitcoin you get paid as a monetary reward for your quality posting on the forum so as merit is also a reward. The campaign you join opens doors for more benefits on the forum then just earning bitcoin, there are some special campaign managers that if you get accepted into the campaigns they're managing, you can consider yourself as a reputed or quality poster on forum, that should be the type of campaign you should strive to join as such campaign encourages quality posting and I'll help build your reputation as a quality poster on forum.

[5]: Consider boards post count are accepted in.
I notice many forum users joins signature campaign without considering the boards they're most active in. I recommend you join a signature campaign based on the boards you're active in, currently I won't join a campaign that doesn't consider Beginner and help board as an acceptable baord for post count. Reason been that that's the board I'm most active and familiar with and enjoying answering questions ask and assisting newbie on the board. Lets say there's a campaign focus on accepting participants only posting on Development & Technical Discussion baord I won't apply for such campaign since I'm not that familiar with the board and most of my post would be considering off topic as I'll be struggling to meet my post count which might lead to spamming the board and might end up getting ban or removed from campaign.

[6] Know the project well before advertising.
Before you apply to promote any project through signature campaign, carryout some background check on the forum and google too, make sure that project is legitimate and has no past record of scam or it's a scam. Advertising scam project through signature could lead to your account recieving Red tag.
Credit:
6: Know your Signature well before advertising: Check whether you are promoting a legit project or not. Check whether link in signature are not malicious or leads to the phishing site. Whenever in doubt, raise concern. Don not keep mum because it is paying you.

Guidelines: Guide on avoid red tags by supporting already known scam projects

[7]: Consider the reputation of campaign manager before applying.
Credit
Another factor to weigh-in is the reputation of both the Campaign Manager and the Campaign itself. A Campaign Manager with a track of well managed campaigns could be an important plus to consider, and checking this out may lead to better chances that the campaign does not eventually turn out to be a fiasco in terms of compromised crypto revenue.

Reputed CM: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature Anti-Spam Campaign Managers

[8]:Verify fund available and address ownership through sig message
Before joining a signature campaign always verify if the campaign manager has the available fund to pay participants for the week. You can do this by searching the bitcoin address posted by CM on https://www.blockchain.com and if you're in doubt of address ownership you can request for a sig message to prove he/she has control over the private key of that address.
Credit
Note if the Manager has provided a unique address to pay for the campaign and if he has enough funds to pay everyone. Ideally, the campaign has contracted an escrow with a good reputation in the forum to be responsible for storing the funds.

[9]: Consider the payout option before applying.
Credit:
You also need to take in consideration if the campaign is going to pay you directly on your desired wallet or will it be deposited on their platforms, i.e. for gambling related, there are campaigns that require you to create an account on their site and they going to deposit in directly on that account.

But remember that sometimes, you need to shoulder the fees if you're going to withdrawal it. So if the campaigns say, they're going to pay you .01 BTC, then expect less because of the withdrawal fees. Not unless the campaign manager can work out with the gambling operators that the fees will be shoulder by the company.

[10]: Read the rules of participation in the campaign:
Credit:
For easy understanding: Baofeng is saying that you can read the rules on bonuses and read if it is full or closed, basically, he/she meant of those people applying even if the campaign is full. As to bonuses, there are campaigns nowadays that gives an extra bonus if you have accomplished a certain quality post that the campaign manager believes to be exceptional. It will always be on the verdict of the campaign manager as to how they will choose who to give their bonus or position to a certain spot. Just like sending merit to people, sMerit holder chooses what they think a quality post(s).

In addition, I think campaign managers have these unwritten gentleman’s rule about joining one campaign to another campaign. They can skip people who have a signature campaign already as a sign of respect to its campaign manager.

In as much as you participate in a paid signature campaign on forum, you shouldn't forget the main reason forum was created and always try your best to add value to the forum irrespective of what you're doing as you stay on forum.

7635  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is Bitcoin Genesis Block? on: February 28, 2019, 10:16:42 AM
I'll say he did it on purpose (Bitcoin code making it impossible to spend that 50BTC) I see that Genesis transaction as a test. I have a question @BestCoinInvestments, i understand that donations have been sent to the address associated with the Genesis block now 66.9BTC+. My question is can those bitcoin donate be claimed by Satoshi? or it's also unclaimable like the first 50BTC.

7636  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Any signature campaign for Jr Members? on: February 28, 2019, 09:15:37 AM
I opted for this. But they haven't accepted me yet since 3 days. I don't think I am in the list. That's why I was looking for more. I am trying to rank up. Thank you!

I won't recommend that signature campaign you're trying to join as a jnr member it'll only lead you to spamming the forum just to get enough post count to earn you some decent Bitcoin. You need to read this, Stake.com (SteveStake) is encouraging spam. I'm not discrediting the campaign but the way It's been managed. You need at least 100 post to earn something meaningful which isn't healthy to the forum since most of those post won't add anything useful to the forum.

You can consider buying a copper membership and wait patiently as new campaign accepting copper members with decent weekly post comes out or my favourite, take your time and grow your account that way you'll be benefiting in both forum recognition (merit) and knowledge.
7637  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mapping the crypto fraud landscape on: February 28, 2019, 07:40:50 AM

Just decided to qoute your image link so other members could see it.

It's a good list, but I disagree with many of the crypto-dependent items.

  • An ICO scam is just a Ponzi scheme, pump-and-dump, or outright theft. The fact that a cryptocurrency is involved doesn't really change anything.

I disagree with you too, the only reason the term ICO was invested is because of cryptocurrency. Therefore ico scam is dependent on cryptocurrency just as the image above labels it. An ico scam can't happen without cryptocurrency not been involved therefore the fact that cryptocurrency is involve changes everything e.g like the way the scam is been executed.
7638  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Help with serious porn addiction in society / especially incest porn on: February 28, 2019, 06:30:17 AM
what do you suggest we do to solve this problem?

Porn addiction is an individual problem and can only be solved by that individual. Many porn addicts are those won't don't have girlfriends or boyfriends to have sex intercourse with so they result to satisfying their pleasure by watching others engaging in it and end up masturbating. A possible solution is to go get a sex mate to have that sex with and gradually the porn addiction will die off.

You can also solved the porn addiction problem by getting a counter hobby i.e each time you feel the urge to watch porn you do something else like reading a book or playing a game and with time that porn addiction will get replace by another addiction.
7639  Economy / Exchanges / Re: IDEX listing help on: February 28, 2019, 06:01:42 AM
From my knowledge IDEX doesn't charge for listing fee, they list tokens freely, they decided to choose quality over revenue although this isn't always the case because they have listed severally worthless toknlens on their exchange.

Here's an official statement from them,
Quote
The Aurora team carefully evaluates every token submitted for listing on IDEX within two weeks of submission. If a token meets our listing criteria, IDEX will request a meeting with the token’s team via webcam to finalize details. Pending this in-person meeting, the token will be added to IDEX and announced via our Twitter channel when it is available for trading.

If your token is not listed within two weeks of submission, it is safe to assume you did not meet our listing criteria at the time of review.
Source:

So that means there's nothing you can do but wait patiently for your project to be evaluated.

at the end of day we are all humans and sometimes end up facing different challenges like depression.

Not totally correct we got some bots in their numbers on the forum,  Grin

When it comes to help, I believe the forum is doing alright, there isn't a thread started based on help that doesn't get a respond and again if there's such thread then the TS { Thread  starters} didn't post on the right boards. Helping others is beneficial to both parties and should be encourage more as it unity us more and helps strengthen the forum.
