7621  Economy / Economics / Re: Are you investing in crypto currency alone? on: June 12, 2021, 11:45:35 PM
Not many countries have made available stimulus package for its citizens to help soften the economic effects of the pandemic.
With many nations of the world still recovering from the economic realities caused by the pandemic, how will you describe the economic situation in your country at the moment?
It's recovering and the borders are starting to open but health protocols are still being followed strictly. Hopefully, I'm waiting for that day that our government will start to announce that we're free from covid-19 and we can now go everywhere without having the need to wear masks and face shields. And most of those people that have been affected by lay offs can now go back to their old jobs and can start their lives again smoothly.

I am curious, Apart from your crypto Holdings, what other investments do you have? Or are you investing in crypto alone?
I've got a huge part of my investment in cryptocurrencies but it's also important to invest outside of it like real estate. That's why years ago, I already have it and still plans to use a part of my profit to buy the next property that I will have.
7622  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BTC price VS gambling on: June 12, 2021, 10:54:09 PM
This is true. The volatility we've seen since this thread was originally posted is a prime example why Bitcoin should not really be used for gambling unless you happen to think it will go up from the current price. There are many reasons, like if you're buying Bitcoin purely for this purpose your "money" value has dropped in half since February. Alternatively you would have been better off cashing out if you had funded a casino account in the huge run up to $65k, it probably would have given you a much better return on your assets - if not the same level of fun. Fiat money which is relatively stable is a much better way to gamble because you don't have to make a layer of secondary valuation calculations due to daily swings in price.
Yes, that's one consideration that a gambler has to take. But if his bitcoins came from holding since a year or two ago, that's just fine to gamble at this rate because it won't be hurting him much if he bought it at a rate that's quite low. But if someone who's too sensitive with the price swings, I would agree that aside from using altcoins to gamble, he can fund his account with fiat and just use it to gamble so that there's no pressure and no need to think of how much he's going to win or lose in terms of bitcoin's value.

Sometimes we have to take gambling seriously if we want to ensure profit, for sports bettors or those who are playing games that they are believing they can use their skills, they can trade their bitcoin into stable coin, using TRC-20 transaction for fast and cheap transaction fee, then you'll not anymore worry on the volatility, prbolem solve and we will also not gonna take about the high fees anymore.
Well, that's for sure. Most gamblers who want to win have secure profit but that won't happen in an instant. There has to be a process and choosing which coin to gamble is what they've to consider but it has nothing to do with their wins and the strategy. It's just about how to start and which coin is you're comfortable to gamble and for you to save fees. TRC20 is really cheap and since the price of bitcoin has been stabled and not that expensive for the others anymore, spending bitcoin will be more if you've bought at high then you have to start choosing these altcoins where you can save more fees.
7623  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Should I sell or hold on my bitcoin? on: June 12, 2021, 09:57:06 PM
Here is my advice don't sell for lower price at least if you had bought higher price. Although if do you have bought btc in cheap price under $20k then welcome to sell and take your profits now. Actually btc ATH good move everyday so if you can take long time holding then you will receive good profits. Even you should analysis first then we will find a best decision. Otherwise if you would like important our decision then you can't make profits from crypto market.
That mistake of selling at a lower price had been done by too many panic sellers. They have been taken for granted because they rely on their emotion. They've thought that it's not going to last anymore and the favor is not with them. If they don't have to sell, they can hold until they can because that's the only thing that they have to do. You don't sell at loss and if you're at loss and you can see it with the value of bitcoin that you're holding, you only have to hold.
7624  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BTC price VS gambling on: June 12, 2021, 06:53:46 PM
If someone wants to gamble with their bitcoins, tell them to sell it and then gamble with the cash. You cannot stop people who want to spend their bitcoins for gambling and tell it that they should've sold it instead. If the choice as they want to gamble is bitcoin then it should be made by them in bitcoin and they're comfortable using it. Although some may say that it shouldn't be bitcoin that they must use because there are other options for cryptocurrencies to be used for gambling. But that's it, the higher the price, the lesser bitcoin that can be used. Anyway the price of bitcoin has decreased a lot and one can choose to gamble with other altcoins that they prefer.

3- When a fork occurs, what determines which network remains with the original name & the other has to figure out another?
3. I think it's the community that decides which chain to support. Just as the ETC/ETH fork. ETC was the original and then the community has supported the fork version which is Ethereum. I'm not yet there when the fork happened for ETC/ETH so if I'm wrong with my understanding, you're free to correct me. And as for its name, I think they remain the same and the original one stays with its name and its the dev that have pushed the fork who will decide to name the new chain/fork.
7626  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: June 12, 2021, 03:52:08 PM
I'm just curious why the PBA has said if the player wants out of the league, is it that the team and players side to settle? it's like the PBA holds the player's neck in every situation, all the trades and players being swap to other superpower teams like making the league unbalance and no competition, i think the rules need to change because at the end of the day this should be between the team and the owners the should be talking and not the league?
It's actually not the team that has a bind on the player but it's the PBA management that doesn't want to let go a player. They just want to let know that they should honor the contract that they have with the team and the player. But if they have seen that the team has allowed a player to get out, they should also allow them to get out if they have some opportunity that's knocking but no. They're the one who's stopping the player to get out of the league and it's like a closed place that no one shall get out.
7627  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BTC price VS gambling on: June 12, 2021, 11:07:42 AM
Bitcoin price increases made some people think more about use bitcoin to gamble because they see they can make a big profit if they can sell bitcoin at a high price.
It's not about how big the profit might give but it's about the quantity and the little that they can gamble due to the high price of bitcoin. For example, when the price is at the peak, you can actually gamble with a few decimals and that valuation for that quantity is already quite good enough. That's the reason why if the price of bitcoin is high, there are gamblers that are choosing to gamble with bitcoin for such an amount. Because the advantage is if they've been holding bitcoin for so long, they have little to spend for gambling and it won't lessen a lot with their holdings.
They prefer to secure their bitcoins when the bitcoin price is at its peak, selling it will be more valuable or good for him than spending it in gambling. There is nothing wrong with their choice because it is their right to use bitcoin for their own purposes, because gambling with crypto can not only be done with bitcoin alone, there are many other cryptos that can be used in crypto gambling and it would be good to keep making their bitcoins keep it safe as an investment.
7628  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What is a bounty manager? on: June 12, 2021, 09:58:07 AM
In some of the threads I'm following lots of users mention the word "bounty campaign" or "bounty manager" which is a term I've never heard before. Is it something similar to a marketing campaign?
It is similar to marketing campaigns and thinks of the manager as the marketing manager but the strategy or method being done is through bounty. Bounty campaign does have a lot of types, they could be in the form of signature campaign, social media campaign but mostly being done in Twitter campaign and other types of campaign. They're all bounty because the reward that will be given to the participants is the token that they're promoting which is a sign that it's the first use case that will be made for that particular project. But not all of them are paying in their own token, there are some that pays in other cryptocurrencies and most of the time in bitcoin.
7629  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bitcoin price not in a good Hight. ano masasabi niyo ang dahilan si Elon ba...? on: June 12, 2021, 03:54:30 AM

May nabasa ako dati, wala namang problema kahit ifreeze nila yung account mo.

Salamat kabayan sa Heads up.
Oo posible yun.

We will see the next page of this story after Ravena's contracts expired, let see if how interested he is playing along side with his bro!

The contract will not expire soon, there's a lot of games he will have to play before it's over and who knows if that time will come and the B league will not anymore interested in him. They want it now and waiting for 1 to 2 years before they can have an age Ravena is not really a good choice IMO.

Well, maybe he just has to accept that he will only stay in the PBA unless the PBA will allow a buy out of contract which for sure they will not give a chance to happen.

https://www.spin.ph/basketball/pba/pba-says-no-to-buyout-of-kiefer-ravena-s-contract-with-nlex-a795-20210605
That's really what he needs to do and we fans have to accept. There's no more other Ravena that's going on B League until his contract settles and expires. Shiga having the choice to buy out his contract but that would be a big amount for them as an investment for just taking Kiefer. Will they do that? we don't know. Speaking of Ravena, how about his brother Thirdy Ravena? is he still going to play with any team or his former team in B League? I haven't read any news about him renewing his contract or maybe is that I'm not very much updated on his career run in Japan.
7633  Economy / Speculation / Re: Mining plants in China are shutting down. How will this be reflected on Btc on: June 11, 2021, 09:46:04 PM
It should've affected the price of bitcoin already but there's almost no reaction to its price and it's still recovering from the last correction that it has been. The news that is coming from China needs to be verified first and if you've verified it then the news would come quickly to the news publication websites and especially those news agencies in the mainstream but I still haven't seen any of them report this incident in China.
7634  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buying old coins: Is it worth it? on: June 11, 2021, 04:56:26 PM
I don't think so but if you've got some spare money and you just want to feel that vibe and you think that it's still worth buying then buy some. There's nothing to lose upon putting a small budget for these types of coins as long as you're okay to lose them with these coins.
But put them only with those old coins that still have quite high liquidity so you're still on a good track for that coin that you're about to buy. You may hit a jackpot if any of them pumped unexpectedly and that's usually happening.

I started to unfollow this guy since the first time he introduce his own crypto, alam ko na agad na scam ito at wala talaga itong totoong product or service na maooffer sa market kaya bakit ka magiinvest?

I would assume now that it's best for him to accept the fact that he's not going outside the league until his contract expires. Then, he has to honor his contract and whenever it expires and done then that's the time that he can go abroad and play for Shiga or any team that wishes to play with him. I'm sure that he's going to love every single thing of the process and that's going to make it worth it of his journey. He's too close for it and he just needs to wait his contract finishes.
No other way but to accept his fate, proving something will add up to his value, if there's nothing left in terms of playing to Shiga,

take this opportunities to let them see his worth.

It's best for Keifer to show what he really capable with, from that point, scouts  from Shiga league will see him and  chance of having much higher offers may take place.

For now, playing and bringing out the best from him will serves as key factors to achieved his goals.
He's just going to keep going on and move forward no matter what happens with the contract. But at the end of it, there's no need for him to be pushy if the decision is final and his contract should be finish first. I hope that there won't be any issue if his contract finally's done.
And Shiga is willing to wait for him to take on board, that's going to be a good collaboration of him and the team's management because they've waited for him at the right time.

~snip~

As you know, people are willing to do a lot for money. As I understand it, such tournaments bring not only a good income to the participants, but also give a great opportunity to show themselves to the world. All it takes is a few slaps in the face.

I wonder if any of the forum users would agree to take part in such a tournament? If so, what would you like to be rewarded?
You're right, people would do crazy stuff for the money as long as they can do whatever it takes and it won't harm anyone but only them. If there's someone who would take part in such a tournament, I think that's just for the experience but still good luck if there's someone who's really tough and have the guts to join. I cannot do it myself, I'm weak physically and maybe if a professional woman slapper slaps my chin, I'll drop-dead quickly.  Grin

Hi, @Blockman,

I actually had the idea from a real-world application I thought would be beneficial to newer crypto-users.  I don't think I'm going to make a bunch of money off of it, or that it'll be some new 'game-changing' concept - I just think it'll help bring more people into the space.

The idea is similar to the concept of wrapped coins, but in a different sense.  I believe, if it's a possibility to create, that it would be a new, improved way to bring people in with less volatility.

Thank you for asking those questions.  It made me think about it a bit before answering.  I appreciate your time.

J. Shorter
Thanks, I appreciate your time in answering my question too. Actually, there's a lot of that type of idea that's already existing in the market but if you think that you can improve any of them and if it will help to bring a lot of people to the market then that's something good that you can do. The sense of projects lately was all about making money and there's no actual real use case but if you can see that there's an actual use case that can be done by that proposal of yours and when it's already launched, you should stick to that goal because when it's already launched, things might change and won't go according to what you've planned.
7640  Other / Off-topic / Re: Slapping Tournament on: June 10, 2021, 06:10:08 PM
I am sure that is indeed really hurtful for them. But as long as they can enjoy the tournament, they will not feel too hurt as they can have a chance to win. But maybe for us, that will not be worth doing because we can not imagine getting those slaps. I see that they really have good control with their emotion because if someone gets a slap in their face, the first thing that they will do is getting mad and give a punch to them Grin
That's really hurtful. I think that even if they're enjoying being slapped or to slap someone when it's their turn to be slapped, there's still the pain that they'll feel. But no matter what, they've chosen to choose it and that's already part of their life until they decide to get out of it and stop being a participant in that tournament. They must be doing something to strengthen their jaws just like athletes getting trained for them to have a stronger jaw that can stand and last to tolerate the pain that will be taken from their opponent when they're being slapped.
