All the first answers have covered this. Neither the PIN, nor seed, they are not necessary if the device can be physically accessed, since the seed can be extracted and used in another wallet.
Somebody has written than adding a passphrase fixes this though.



I agree, this is the best use of a hardware wallet.
For cold storage you can safely generate with the device a different seed which you can use more or less like paper wallet.

1. CPFP is pretty much a normal transaction. It only has to use as input the change from the other transaction and has to have an overly high fee (in order to really pay for the parent tx)

I am not convinced that an exchange will do this. Private keys access is a sensitive matter and they can get easily into trouble. But you can look for wallets with in-built exchange, like written in the previous post.
I advise you start with moving your bitcoins into another wallet. It may be not a big amount, but still better safe than sorry. Some wallets may be fake and if you are not used with them you may get fooled easier.

Also, if you don't want to do it yourself, there's at least one user here who offers claiming service for a fee. But if you say that the amount is small, I don't know if it'll worth his time.

Multiple APIs may fix this. But I've learned to use my resources when that's possible.

You are right. I forgot about accelerators. But I am confident that a good analysis can be done with the mempool at hand (ignore the smallest 150-300 tx fees from a block?), without calling a 3rd party API.

XRP are (cred eu) o "armata" foarte numeroasa de conturi (nu neaparat la fel de multe persoane) care incearca si aici pe forum, si pe social media (mai ales twitter) sa dea sperante incepatorilor legate de pretul viitor, facandu-i sa cumpere, crezand ca fac o mare investitie.
Nu spun ca pretul XRP va creste sau nu. E problema ta ce faci cu banii tai, iar eu nu sunt bun la citit viitorul. Dar momenta XRP are probleme mari si este undeva intre ghilotina si supravietuire, iar daca scapa nu inseamna neaparat ca va aves succes. Tine cont ca firma Ripple detine 60% din cele 100 miliarde de XRP, deci are capacitate foarte buna sa faca ce vor ei cu pretul, fara sa iasa pe pierdere.

Pentru mine XRP este una din monedele extrem de bune pentru a transfera valori mici intre casele de schimb. Dar atat. Fazele de genul "va ajunge XRP la nush-cati dolari" le consider "publicitate pentru fraieri". Poate ma insel. Poate nu.
Bineinteles, trading de XRP pe termen scurt poate fi profitabil, dar la aia chiar trebuie sa te pricepi.

I think that it's also easy to send the mail when a certain fee/vbyte was met (i.e. sent in the last block). Or if a certain fee was met/touched for 3 blocks in a row.
Of course, it's not a guarantee for what's going to be next, still... there are some ideas. Since you already have the software there and the mempool, there are plenty of ways the implementation can be done.
Also, I guess that the recipient should choose if he wants this kind of mail only once or multiple times.
