7641  Other / Meta / Re: Incentive to the Merit Sources to Achieve their Quota? on: June 26, 2018, 02:46:13 PM
Given that there are reports that the current actual number of merits given in the past months did not meet the expected merits for circulation, please let me propose an idea.
Give an incentive to the Merit Sources for them to be proactive in achieving their quota.
Being a merit source is already a method to make them proactive. There is no need to "push them" in order to get other people ranked up. Let them work at peace.
Quote
An incentive can be a form of payment (bitcoin?), special privilege (additional feature on their profile?), or anything that is beneficial to them.
No.
Quote
What do you think?
In my opinion there was an initial craze about the merit system till last month which has decreased now and initially I thought it was because of the dearth in number of merit sources but it seems that its not so. Maybe if they stop meriting and start becoming inactive, theymos would have to actually look into the spamming of the forum and redesign the merit system. Currently the spam problem will not be controlled without increasing the number of mods.
7642  Other / Meta / Re: information support for newbie on: June 26, 2018, 02:40:58 PM
i don't need merit in here. i think it does not have value

Stop shitposting and get lost from this forum. Previously when merit was first introduced we used to have one thread everyday popping up and ass-licking the merit system in a way of pseudo begging in order to get some merits under the blanket cover of "I am a good boy" type of thread. This trend has deceased now that mods are taking strict action.

if you see this post is null. You can delete it!
You are breaking the rules of 1BUMP/24hour. Thus your thread will get trashed soon. Roll Eyes
7643  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which trading platform do you use? on: June 26, 2018, 02:36:58 PM
If you looking for exchange that listed many pair of crypto with USDT,  I think these exchange is Okex, Huobi, and Gate.io because they offer that pair with many potential crypto. They also has friendly interface and also has big trading volume.
Did you learn about these exchanges because you have been hunting some bounties and then they got listed on these shit-exchanges? Talk about exchanges the first few that should come out of your mouth is Poloniex Bittrex and so on. Not some etherdelta like looking scum exchanges where shitcoins get listed after ICO stage.

Personaly i used more than 2 different exchange but mostly i like Indodax exchange because they offer many altcoin paired with IDR, this my national fiat currency so make easy to make withdraw to my bank account anytime i want.
This is a good example of an exchange - because its local it will help you in making fiat deposits and subsequently conversions easier to perform.

Quote
Other exchange i used is Cryptopia because they listed many coin that still undervalued.
Cryptopia often lists some shitcoins so I guess thats why you often need it.
7644  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any gambling site that uses bitcoin? on: June 26, 2018, 02:30:00 PM
How can you earn from gambling if you cant even know how to find a gambling sites that fits for you?study he forum first before trying to play gambling here
Seriously I hate it when newbies make threads trying to shitpost and convert the thread into a place for shitposters with such vague topics. If they dont know about crypto and the crypto gambling industry they should not step into it. After all gambling is not a method to earn money. It should be kept to as a method to have fun and as entertainment where there is chance of making money.

There are casino's mate that are accepting not bitcoin on their service like what I said that those two coins are the popular coins for altcoin gambling. Like the usual crypto casino, dice games, etc. the coins accepted are the only change on them. I don't know how many of them are there but I've seen some.

What are you talking about? All the crypto gambling sites accept at least if not anything else, bitcoin for deposits. Some even have shapeshift integration to allow altcoins.
7645  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 5 Mental Responses That Will Make You Lose Money on: June 25, 2018, 01:19:06 PM
Believe in yourself but don't ever think that you are an expert or anything like that.
You can believe in yourself to be an expert in everything except gambling or any other luck based games. Because of the EV- nature of gambling and sometimes EV+ games as well, nobody can be 100% sure that the match will be in their favor. Its all a 50-50 chance and if you want to risk the chance then you should consider that money as gone, if it returns then you are lucky.

raising bets does not always make us lose money .. let alone we have and unlimited with big bet bets ,, I think it will be profitable in the long run .. especially if we gamble in casino roullete .. with some strategies that have been in stacking with mature, I think it will grow victory

Raising the bet only makes the person lose more money - because in the end the house will always win. Roll Eyes
7646  Other / Meta / Re: with bitcoin price collapsing why not start transform this forum? on: June 25, 2018, 01:14:48 PM
bitcoin has now reached another low at 5800 and many of those that are more educated, have a broader economic understanding beyond IT tech,
Its temporary. Just like every other rise and fall this is just another spectrum of that cycle of money that keeps on occurring in the market. Whats new in that?

Quote
know that this kind of speculative cryptocurrency cant be the future.
It IS the future.

Quote
this forum however is still bitcoin fixed, and there could be a goodupgrade if the altcoin section would be transformed into a serious cryptoeconomic related board.
That wont happen unless there is some radical change in the altcoin sections to prevent shitposters from vomiting out half-English posts every week to get paid for.

Quote
considering that bitcoin would then crash and start being forgotten like netscape navigator (first browser) this forum might have a future then
Like I said already. Bitcoin is the future.

If your suggestion is implemented in any case, the staff should keep a back up of current forum. It will save a lot of work when bitcoin price recovers in future.
Keep dreaming because it wont happen. Forum will remain as it is.
7647  Other / Meta / Re: How long I can have sMerits? on: June 25, 2018, 01:08:55 PM
No no no, You didn't get my point. It's not like I'm not sending sMerits, I'm not being able to send merits.
Maybe you dont have any merits to send.

Quote
Let me tell you what happened here with the last merit I got. I am fairly regular in Bitcointalk. But for some reasons I didn't logged in for 2-3 days. When I got back, I had seen that I received a Merit but it shows I have zero sMerits.
When you receive one merit - you receive 0.5 sMerit which does not show and is not spendable. If someone gives you another exactly one merit, you will get another 0.5sMerit - which will add up to 1 sMerit - then it will show up and will be spendable.

Quote
I couldn't send that sMerit even if I wanted to.
You cannot send fractional merit.

Quote
Something similar happened the last time when I received 10 merits for one post. Merit system was totally new at that time. Well, maybe sMerits decays after 2-3 days or so. That's what I wanted to know, if they don't decay like this then what happened with me not being able to send sMerits?
Till date sMerit does not decay. Thats all I can say.
7648  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When will the bull market start? on: June 25, 2018, 01:01:01 PM
Idk when the bull will start but one thing for sure it will be happen someday in the future. All we can do is just to be very patient to wait that day will come again.

That is a vague assumption. Of course a bull market will happen and it will happen in future. But your post adds nothing to the discussion nor does it explain your view on the current market scenario.

I think it's time to start worrying about the end of the bear market. I wish I could tell exactly when the bull market will start but I hope in this year.
Nobody can exactly predict when the market becomes bullish. However carrying on with the market trends we can hope for a bull run sometime around the end of June or in July. It will happen as soon as whales start pumping the market.
7649  Other / Meta / Re: Starting threads to try to generate meritable posts on: June 24, 2018, 08:55:49 AM
I've just started this thread on the beginners board -
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4522043.0

In it I ask posters to describe the dangers inherent in using 3rd party wallets. Do you think that it is a good idea to start topics like this? I'm a bit reluctant to start threads asking for the submission of meritable posts, as I'm not sure they contribute to the forum, and they can lead to a form of begging. Hopefully the topic I've started will be of benefit to new members, and it may also lead to some of them searching for information about wallets.
Be careful of copy-pasters. Many shitposters would just copy paste articles from the internet to get merit. Such is the low-life.
Also the thread will become redundant in a certain amount of time. You have to think of another topic soon. I will give you an idea - follow this thread up with a new thread "Good and Bad experiences of using 3rd Party wallets"

Is Tman still around? I haven't seen him posting for ages. He didn't strike me as the sort of guy who would hide himself away. Smiley

People tend to get tired of the bullshit in the forum and get busy with other stuff going on in the world and their life. That would be my best guess. He is available on other platforms and the forum if you want to contact him.

and I see his post history is mainly in Economy section recently.
"Collectibles" precisely. TMAN is a collector of different bitcoin collectibles and art - He has a huge Kialara collection which he takes pride in.
7650  Other / Meta / Re: Can someone answer a quick question about the activity system? on: June 24, 2018, 08:48:36 AM
So I have posted a lot recently. I have 28 activity points. I have not gotten more activity points in a few days. I thought you get one per day if you post that day. I was proven wrong by this but now I am more confused then ever. When will I start getting activity points again?

How is forum activity calculated?
Activity is calculated with the following formula:
Code:
activity = min(time * 14, posts)
Activity is increased by staying logged in or by posting and is updated every 30 minutes. There is a maximum of 14 activity points every 2 weeks.

This should answer your question. If you have any other question feel free to ask. But dont forget that sometimes reading the stickies in the forum boards helps more than asking the same question which has been answered several times in past. Wink

Also you wont be rank up until you get enough merits for the next rank. Since you were so eager to know activity increments my best guess would be that your next thread in Meta will be asking about the merit system. Tongue
7651  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crash recoveries are not moons on: June 24, 2018, 08:40:30 AM
Still, the percentage of Bitcoin's dominance in the market does not decrease, but it grows, so investors buy up Bitcoin, in the hope of growth and will soon raise the stakes to fix profits.
Those market metrics of coinmarketcap are not necessarily correct. Still it can be assumed that every time the net capitalization of bitcoin decreases, investors are pulling out money and then whales may charge it and pump it up to a 5-figure amount. They are not the point of interest for small cap traders.

To some they are, probably because when they entered the trading world they bought the coins at a certain amount and when it increases like a minimum percentage they would think it is mooning. You can’t seriously blame them for thinking that, just educate them if you know better instead of saying things they maybe barely able to understand.
OP is not talking about such things. What OP means is that small increments should not be considered as btc to the moon.
New people watching the market will get elated at every small rise of price - if they dont watch the prior market scenario.
7652  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any gambling site that uses bitcoin? on: June 24, 2018, 08:27:43 AM
Majority of the crypto casino's does have bitcoin on their option. But I've seen also some casino's that is mainly focused with bitcoin cash and ethereum.
Crypto in the first place is bitcoin and because bitcoin has the biggest amount of SEO in web hence it will always the marketing ingredient of any casinos. Altcoins will also be there but they will be secondary to bitcoin. Of course if a casino is branded to be an altcoin casino then altcoin will be primary.

Most of the gambling websites will mostly for Bitcoin as the manor currency for gambling but i dont know about the offline because i never went to those casino. For online gambling, they will ask bitcoins for sure.
Most offline casinos accept fiat deposits. Though crypto is gaining a ground but its still not become that much mainstream or adopted by common gamblers. Online casino does not imply that they accept crypto. They can accept fiat too - which is the major.
7653  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bumping ROOMDAO ICO ANN on: June 23, 2018, 11:06:46 AM
Hello! We ask our community to leave a comment and their opinion about ROOMDAO. Is it forbiden ??

Quoted for reference.

It is forbidden to incentivize posts in your thread. Also known as ANN Shill bumping. It is considered as tagworthy by DT as well. Possibly the account(s) associated will also get banned from the forum.

Quote
Why you think its a problem?
Because you are creating fake buzz around our thread where people are coming to see it every second because it is being bumped in a shady manner. This is a good method to "Trick" investors into thinking that the project has a lot of potential while in reality it might not be so.
7654  Economy / Reputation / Re: svojoe, green-trusted probably hacked/bought account on: June 23, 2018, 06:44:53 AM
Hello. This is my confession.
Yes, you are right, I've bought this account in September 2017 for $750 from the owner, I guess.

Why do you want to buy an account when you can make a new account - added on that you can buy the copper membership to get rid of the newbie jail as well for a few bucks.

Quote
I think so because I didn't get any messages from anyone asking to get it back or something like that and the price was really high.
Why would the seller even want it back?  Stop making a fool of yourself.

Quote
I'm a decent guy and I never abuse anyone, never use green trust to scam.
Sorry.
If you never used the green trust to scam anyone why are you even saying "sorry"?

Whatever be the case bought account cannot be trusted. They are or will potentially be used to scam shitpost farm accounts and perform other shady activities. Hence you have to bear the negative trust on your account.
7655  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Quit cryptocurrency trading its not for you! on: June 23, 2018, 06:40:30 AM
That mentality was exactly what made people to join FOMO, some even did go to the extent of borrowing to be able to enter into the market and now suffering huge loss and unable to pay the loan.
Trading carries a risk and one should not trade more than what they can afford to lose. Borrowing money in this market and using it to make some cash will have some bad consequences surely. They wont be able to pay back now and have to suffer higher debt.

Quote
It is absurd to think that the market is a get rich quick scheme when indeed it is not, and it is because of this they get to panic easily when things start beginning to go unexpectedly in the market, and in such state, making decision without applying emotion for those in this category is impossible.
For the humans their emotions tend to leave a mark. The average people trading are those hoping to get huge returns within minutes and will start complaining and crying everytime the market falls. They dont have patience nor do they have control over emotions or determination to hold. Nothing can be done for those who dont want to help themselves.
7656  Economy / Speculation / Re: discuss the market? on: June 23, 2018, 06:36:58 AM
Today I find the market is not feasible, maybe they will never grow up, and today, many people have abandoned the market Crypto, perhaps in the future, the price per altcoin continues to fall. . So do not rush to invest now, waiting for the better price.

Altcoins will fall due to the drop in price of bitcoin. If the price per bitcoin is pegged to USD then you can compare the two. In general if there is a drop in bitocin price dont buy or sell altcoins. You should buy more bitcoin if you want to stock up. But at the price its risky to buy since price drop occurred by 700$ and its not a small amount looking at the market capitalization of bitcoin.

Yep it could be down the price of bitcoin around at $5k but I'm sure that it will increase the price of bitcoin again because investors will buy that cheap price.
How cheap is the question. Some whale can start pumping the coin and prices will reach higher values within a day.
7657  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did the use of online gambling increase with crypto moneys? on: June 23, 2018, 06:32:51 AM
Yeah it is only crypto that increased the ratio of online gambling.
Online gambling includes both fiat and crypto gambling. If you look into the industry then it is evident that crypto is still having a cult following and thus less popular among people. Fiat gambling is still the bigger one.

Quote
Now many people gamble with their holding because they want to make more and more money in less time but it is their thoughts and nothing more. Finally they lose all their money and their wallets have been cleaned up by site controllers. Better not to gamble with your holdings.

Someone who is holding coins has some idea behind holding it. They are probably looking the price to moon in order to sell in future. If they have made up their mind then would not waste the coins on gambling. After all I dont expect an experienced trader to fall prey of the gambling vicious cycle. But then again there are exceptions.

7659  Economy / Reputation / Re: A question regarding duplicate/alt accounts that join bounties! on: June 22, 2018, 10:21:35 AM
Case #1
- A hater tries to damage someone else's reputation, by using the same address/twitter & FB ID/UID or forum name.

This can happen and the only way to stop people from abusing bounties like this is that they need to post "Proof of authentication" - that they own that account and are not trying to impersonate them.

Moreover tagging such people wont happen unless there is some concrete proof that the accounts are connected.  A hater or in this case a "obsessed hater" would have to work hard to actually grow that account to some rank before imposing as an impersonator. Because a newbie claiming to be such would not get much attention. Still I have not seen such cases but would like to know how DT would handle them.
7660  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crash recoveries are not moons on: June 22, 2018, 10:00:51 AM
Speculation has got everyone wanting to see the market high up there, not minding what damage it is causing the entire cryptocurrency ecosystem.
What do you have in mind about damage to the ecosystem?

I agree on that, we need to be more practical. Tbis dropping of the bitcoin price is not new yo us, i see that we have been experience this before from the past few year from now but ot will still recover at last. So then the best thing to do right bow is maybe to hold with patience and we must stop looking at the proce chart to avoid unnecessary feelings.
Best thing to do now is to go to sleep and stop looking at the market any more. Put an alarm clock that would ring only when the bull run starts so that you can sell and make some cash. In case you are feeling adventurous then place some buy orders with prices of 6.5k USD and then stock up on bitcoins. Its all a part of the cycle.

This can be either a positive sign or a negative sign (for example a fall correction). The market can then fall through again which has been happening for several months.
What can happen is speculation. People can say anything while speculating. Maybe someone bought some coins and so market recovered a bit.
