I guess I saw it somewhere in some topic. Is this something from sportsbet.io? Lately I have unsubscribed from that thread of multi master so really don't get much news from sportsbet. I do visit their ANN sometimes but lost my interest to respond there.

Anyway, good luck with your bet. It's still 0 - 0 so on the pool you have a good chance but again it's fine to sacrifice those points if you win a bet 🤣

Yeah, a new challenge on this link (well, hardly new now that it's entered the 46th edition -- I believe one every day since it was launched 13th March).

They do run a lot of promos so can be hard to keep track but their ANN's where you'll hear about everything if you visit, you don't even have to respond just watch;)

And yep, got my win thanks to AeG. Small happy joy joy =)

Night lads. Looking forward to Liverpool - Utd tomorrow LFC_Bitcoin? I've cleared my evening!
7662  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: May 01, 2021, 08:27:00 PM
No one gone for Villa, imagine they win tonight 🤣. By the way, 19 players gone with 2 - 1 win for Everton! I would be happy if they win by 3 - 1 or even lose the match, it's a tactical wish consider the position I have in the pool LOL

I went for a live Villa DBB at about 25/10, just moments before they scored... then of course got pegged back. I'm watching live text scores with some interest too because of the Blackjack challenge -- currently at 11 points with 30 mins to go, so we need a flurry of corners or cards I guess to see his through. Not looking very hopeful but yeah a Toffees win screws me in betting. I went for 0-0 so am already on 1.5 points, I suppose I won't mind losing those points for some betting wins.

Leeds have one of the dramatical and passionate fans in the world they had one of the deadliest rivalries with Chelsea in the 90s, the matches between these two clubs never end well. . yeah Watford was the first but yeah I only suggested a perfect replacement should their contract ends next season.

Indeed. Something about English clubs in any case, from my general observation, that tends to appeal a bit more to us in the Commonwealth. Perhaps it's because football is as big here as it is there. Perhaps it's just the common language that meant we used to get free FA cup live shows on regular tv in late 80s til 90s, until Sky took over everything haha...

But of course if it ends up being Leeds, I'll be wanting those jerseys just as bad =D

@arallmuus @icopress Yep, Europa is United's to lose. I'm betting on whoever progresses on the other end of course. Can't stand United winning... sorry Red Devils.
7664  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2020/2021 on: May 01, 2021, 02:45:20 PM
The league will be won by Manchester City, the runners-up will be Manchester United but the chase for 3rd and 4th place finishes will go to the end. Maybe it will go the last game of the season before we know the other two teams are that will qualify for the Champions League. Liverpool and West Ham are in contention alongside Chelsea and Leicester but it looks likely that Leicester City might be the 3rd team.

Yeah if the Foxes win just two more games I think it's. In the bag for them. The manner with which they won their last one will also be a boost to morale, whereas Liverpool still only have a glimmer of hope even if they beat United. Not conceding 4th now but it would be quite disrespectful to hope Chelsea and West Ham drop so many more points in the last handful of fixtures. We just need to fix our games as have been dreadful.

Brighton currently leading so again just goes to show how frustratingly unpredictable every team sans City have been this season. Bielsa woll be using the rest of the season to hopefully test out personnel. No point in burning out the rest of the season just protect Bamford and keep fitness levels up is all.

Is it just me or does Aguero look fat out there.  Lol.  I’m not sure if it’s my stream or what but the rest of the players look fine.  I mean seriously, he looks stocky and his legs look bigger than they did before.  Cheesy

And it’s pretty interesting Pep played him at the no. 10 role with Jesus up front leading the attack.

Am on mobile but I had to try and find a decent stream to see for myself after seeing this haha but nah he has always looked a tad chunky when not on the field... Can't really tell though but he opened the scoring and does the job. Kinda like Suarez or even Cantona at times I remember. A bit chunky looking but still twisting and squirming like gods haha.

I do remember watching Lukaku at United and swearing he looked bigger and bigger and my son (the fan) kept insisting I was wrong until one day you simply couldn't deny it anymore!
7666  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ BitcoinPRBuzz.com's ⚽ Italian Serie A ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: May 01, 2021, 12:06:52 PM
It's actually still called Euro 2020. I made the mistake myself but looked it up and it was after all decided to retain the original name so as not to cause confusion ha.

I always bet on Copa, and even Afcon... Good value bets always to be found on smaller countries but who recently have very competitive squads thanks to rich vlub experience in the Europe Big Fours...

We did have a euro pool as I recall or was that World Cup now? Either way definitely joining if there is enough interest!
7667  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tech Giants Jack Dorsey and Elon Musk Say Bitcoin Incentivizes Renewable Energy on: May 01, 2021, 11:33:19 AM
We have so many other things that are actually affecting the world's climate and health that Bitcoin mining is only a very insignificant fracture of it.
Yeah, I'm also pretty sure the way electric cars are charged is through burning fossil fuels mostly. That's how the electric grid is powered anyhow. Only a small portion of it is using renewable energy. As for Bitcoin, and the huge debate over whether its using too much. Well, the title of this thread is correct. Those mining will be looking to reduce costs as much as possible, and for large scale operations then renewable energy through hydroplants, and solar panels are probably going to be the future of mining. Although, Bitcoin definitely does incentivizes renewable energy, the amount that doesn't is still pretty insignificant when you consider multiple other industries. It is true, relatively speaking mining is quite expensive. In terms of the amount of power that is required. When you add it up, it is pretty significant. However, its much more dramatized that the actual figures suggest.

Thought I would point this out but guess it's not such a hidden possible avenue of inquiry after all. A lot of new studies showing that powering electric and other types of renewables aren't as clean as thought of. Not to mention the growing pile of spent solar panels in places I used to work... They basically lose effectiveness after five years or so especially on older tech panels. With no thought as to how to dispose of them properly.

Not that I'm anti renewable. It is the future, we just can't rush into it. But sectors like Bitcoin mining will certainly push efforts to understand renewables and make them more responsible. All good.
7668  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2020/2021 on: May 01, 2021, 10:27:33 AM
Nice picks JollyGood! Certainly the wise options for predictions but betting wise I have gone quite a different direction. Palace to win around 95/10 is what I am counting on and the match is an hour away so it might even rise to 11/1 or thereabouts.

Also I would pick handicaps or DNBs for Villa and Fulham... Just biased there though. Need Chelsea and Everton to drop points if Liverpool wants a peek into UCL spots heh. We have to of course beat United but I fancy our chances there to be honest... Ignoring how we let Leeds and Newcastle ruin our past two games...
7669  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +59422 units on: May 01, 2021, 09:24:34 AM
Well, the lesson obviously needs to be hammered into me haha. Wasted some good upsets in my pivks yesterday too.

City should win today quite easily, but Palace reminded Leicester Zaha is still a painful striker to deal with and I feel City losing hurt the odds but still worth taking a punt.

On mobile now so not easy to update so will do the calculations and maybe another pick later but my pick today...

100 units at Fairlay on Palace to WIN at 9.42. other odds 8.80.

Units advantage: 62

Running advantage after 327 bets: +22,154 (+62)
All-time cumulative: +59,712
Running units after 326 bets (401W|275L): +12,088 (-100)
7670  Economy / Speculation / Re: What's your bet? how many years could bitcoin go to its highest? on: May 01, 2021, 09:02:02 AM
Predicting prices and years sort of lost its lustre for me even if I do engage in self fantasy every now and then.

For me, it's quite simple. I either hit a price target or a time target, and neither are near me at all.

But for the sake of entering my prediction, top is 200,000 at 2025. Very simple 6 months after next halving. The effect every halving is hard to ignore.
7671  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 01, 2021, 07:54:12 AM
The problem isn't their quality, mostly it's their price. When you buy a younger player, you can still sell him later and earn a lot of money. These players come with high initial fees, but can be perceived as investment as well.

Old players have no resell value, they demand big contracts and signing bonuses because of their quality and it's often better for a club to buy a slightly worse young player than a slightly better old one - even if it sounds weird.

When these players turn out good, it's great. But more often than not they turn out to be bad investments.

Fair enough, but for clubs like Manchester United anyway, they usually buy players for direct impact and results (from what I can see despite all the different managers they have adopted Ferguson's approach).

After Ronaldo, they haven't been good at reselling people who were even young enough to get good prices and we'll see it again with Pogba haha.

And who can blame clubs who want to buy results? Like you said, buy new guys and you risk losing investments anyway.

I'd go as far to say as that you can't even really guarantee "old" players will bring the results desired. I'm a huge fan of Suarez, and I thought Barca were wrong to do what they did to him, so happy he found a good club at Atletico. Also happy Chicarito (don't like United but can't fault good guys like them) still can punch above his weight in MLS but even gold star players like Zlatan didn't always work out. Robbie Fowler didn't really work out on his return to Liverpool, for example.

So I still say, and I know this is naive, that you should never spend a lot of money, regardless of age. Markets can sometimes force your hand but it usually evens out (buying VVD at sky high prices after selling Coutinho for even more crazy prices, for example). Hoping my club continues their strategy of buying. We got a good player in Jota, we didn't really get good ones in between (I did think Minamino needed time though) but we just have to keep at it. Keep the gems and offload the rest.
7672  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: April 30, 2021, 02:07:23 PM
Leeds has the most history in the EPL to be known as the underdogs that never gave up.

And they were just incredible to watch, and dirty, which was kind of something of an English football thing for us watching in Asia. Man, the late 90s were something, except of course for United and Arsenal heh.

This is a thread where others can share their picks as shown and can discuss post draft selections later on today.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5333903.msg56896774#msg56896774

I'll def have a look before commenting on this thread, I'm trying to read a bit about baseball (MLB) so just want to get to grips with the format of the MLB season... but I have to really admit NFL is making me very confused. The draft in particular, I probably need to find a nice video to explain before I dive in.

@arallmuus: Nice win, nice win. Fair play, United.
7673  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io - Welcome back to the Premier League- Watford FC!! 🚀 on: April 30, 2021, 12:47:40 PM
Same here, I was considering googling a bit and making an informed decision but then decided to just pick them blind. Not that I am winning these freebies even when I know what I am doing Smiley Can't complain though I won once at least and I am sure there is a lot of players out there without even that.
=======
Same thing with our Sportsbet sponsored Premier League pool. First price is now 0.1BTC and looks very juicy, even our consolation prizes awarded for 6-10 finish are 0.01BTC which looks really good. Can't remember what was the entry but probably around 30$.

I did look up the names in the draft for the first pick but when we had to do the second pick on the refresh, I just stabbed at some semi-instinctive, semi-guesstimate pick. If I win, then I definitely need to do random more often;)

And phew, Bitcoin. I know you've been betting in the same BTC amounts but I've had to adjust my bets just to keep me from going overboard (since I am earning in BTC but paid in fiat values ha). It is really nice to be locking in profits last year though and that prize money just looks incredible now. Entry was actually around £40 which translated to around $53... I checked the entry fee it was actually 0.0045 btcWink

Come on Real, save football by winning number 14.

Brother, you always know how to say the things that my politeness tells me not to sometimes haha. Hate to say it too but I'd rather them Madrid royalty and Zidane take the stage too in Istanbul.

@BitcoinHunt3r Well bloody done!
7674  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +59422 units on: April 30, 2021, 08:32:15 AM
Thank you Granada. This was a poor season for me in many ways. Yes still very much in profit but it was pretty tough without the requisite underdog bets, so this is typical of my strength ha ha.

Roma even almost made it, 2-1 at HT and then whoops capitulation to 5 second half goals. Ah well, can't win them all.

Have I learnt my lesson? Not really =D

7675  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ BitcoinPRBuzz.com's ⚽ Spanish La Liga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: April 29, 2021, 08:16:04 PM
That is one way of looking at it. I think I like it that much just because there is always that chance that weaker team will use their one good chance and walk away with all points. But it sure hurts when your favorite team is on the receiving end of that one chance  Grin

Hopefully this is enough upsets for today so my Man Utd bet will come true. I was thinking to take that Man Utd match line or both to score and of course Roma just scored an equalizer.

It's my favourite part of football, too. The cruelty with which your team can rise all the way to the top by killing giants, and then have it all taken away in the end... or by rolling on undefeated for seasons long and then fall into a patch and lose against derby rivals for the first time in decades (lol Everton).

And of course, I totally love that underdogs in football get 20+ odds as soon as the favourites start getting overhyped. Just need to hit a few of them a season to make it profitable haha.

I made 2 underdog picks today. Granada and Roma (6/1, which actually climbed to 7/1!). So it seems we are on opposite ends of this game! United just equalised so all is safe so far;)

Granada made it on efficiency, from my perspective they held the ball for maximum ten minutes during the match, but made it to score two goals

will be more than interesting, and I would support the underdog now, Sevilla to the title

That's not the first time Granada or any underdog won converting their goals with their only shots! I know because Liverpool is this season on the receiving end of that ha ha sobs ha ha.
7676  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ BitcoinPRBuzz.com's ⚽ Spanish La Liga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: April 29, 2021, 07:12:49 PM
and just when you though you saw everything and it was a great season, but Barca will nail it in the end, Granada had two shots and two goals, and still leading on Camp Nou
this could be another game changer for La liga, if finished as Granada win, ten minutes to go
Yeah we can talk all day about remaining opponents and projected points for top teams but then comes Barca and looses against Granada at home. I am quite sure nobody got this one correct except maybe @buwaytress. This was just the right odds for you buddy, hope you took it Wink

Thank you very much, indeed I took the bet, it was just a little over 22/1, it does remind me of Granada early season and last when they gave me superb wins. Unfortunately, I'd predicted a full-blown 3-0 in our little pool, so I remain well outside the Top 5, with 5 games to go haha. Nice yellow cap Trofo buddy, but I don't mind at all celebrating this upset with, as casper said, only 2 shots on goal.

Football is so cruel isn't it?
7677  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread on: April 29, 2021, 05:12:32 PM
I think Man U will beat Roma today... The statistics of their meetings completely for the Red Devils! Wink They look stronger than Roma too!
And in the match between Villareal and Arsenal everything is not clear... I think the Spanish club can win today!
Man Utd is the better side compared with Roma however attimes Man Utd can be inconsistent likewise Arsenal however I expect the two teams to win today's match Man Utd is star-studded compared to Roma likewise Arsenal too however they should watch out for  Villarreal chukwueze he is a good dribbler who can create chances and score goals too.
The two matches today should live up to expectation as well as entertaining just like yesterday's match.

Well they have been anything but inconsistent the last stretch of games, which is a pretty good time to peak, I'd say. All of it has been linked to Bruno Fernandes. When he's fit and in form, oh they can play well, especially when Rashford and others have somehow got themselves into a rut. Always a slow start is what will worry OGS.

My money's on Roma tonight though, but only because of the value. And Arsenal offering up cool value too, obviously bookies counting on the away disadvantage.
7678  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: April 29, 2021, 03:33:43 PM
@igehhh Yeah I know Leeds is a lot more "glamourous" than the Hornets thanks to their exploits in the late 1990s. I'll always remember that boy crying when they got relegated "Leeds til I die", even watching far away across the world I remember this scene most, we all followed Leeds back then (He's of course still a fan today).

But still, Watford were the ones who first shook hands with SB, surely that's special in its own right, no?

@arallmuus @rdbase Never won anything from here yet so can't confirm, but $10 is going to be hard to count when BTC goes up again soon =D

Aren't any of you guys going for Roma? Come on =p
7679  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 Major League Baseball (MLB) Season on: April 29, 2021, 01:09:25 PM
Happy to say my outright selection (BoSox) is looking good top of their league table, only two other teams in National League have the same joint highest wins (16) and 9 losses.

I've been reading up a little so I know it's a long way to go in a 162 game season (!!) but happy to see my outright team taking early lead despite the loss on the opener.

How're you guys doing?
7680  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io - Welcome back to the Premier League- Watford FC!! 🚀 on: April 29, 2021, 12:00:17 PM
For sure Chelsea deserved to win but I don't get it : who is training Timo Werner ? Because the dude cannot score no matter what and I'm start to think that he is overpriced and Chelsea slowly realizing this because they just announced that they would give Timo and the rest of the money for Halaand. I doubt Timo will stay at Chelsea in this summer especially that he barely scores and even his team mates don't want to engage much with him during the games.

I always feel bad for these guys. They got hyped up so much it was always going to be impossible to keep up with expectations that were sky-high before they even touched a blade of grass... he must feel bad he didn't pick Liverpool but we got Jota instead who's a revelation so there you go =p

WELL finally Win the 4-3-Free  Grin
