7681  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Is it right to kill a violent burglar? on: May 08, 2018, 05:41:45 PM
If a burglar came into my home armed and with intent to harm me or family, I will shoot first and ask questions later.

He or she should not have entered my private home and by doing so it was with malice in mind.

Would I want them to die? Of course not. But at the heat of the moment these things will not be registering in my mind.

My will to survive by protecting myself and family will be first and foremost. If they do get grievously injured and or die, they should have though twice before entering my home.

Some interesting insights on the future of blockchain applied to swarm robotics and Robot-as-a-Service:

Your title reminds me of a book  Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip Dick.

 That same book was made into a movie called Blade Runner.  Both excellent by the way

  Working out on weights at the gym.

Love thy neighbor is thyself....live simply and within your means.

Do no abuse drugs and alcohol amongst other things

I try and follow the words of a famous poem called the Desiderata which I think is priceless by

Max Ehrmann

 Desiderata

 Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
 and remember what peace there may be in silence.
 As far as possible without surrender
 be on good terms with all persons.
 Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
 and listen to others,
 even the dull and the ignorant;
 they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
 they are vexations to the spirit.
 If you compare yourself with others,
 you may become vain and bitter;
 for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
 Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
 it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
 Exercise caution in your business affairs;
 for the world is full of trickery.
 But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
 many persons strive for high ideals;
 and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
 Especially, do not feign affection.
 Neither be cynical about love;
 for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
 it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
 gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
 Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
 But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
 Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
 Beyond a wholesome discipline,
 be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe,
 no less than the trees and the stars;
 you have a right to be here.
 And whether or not it is clear to you,
 no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
 whatever you conceive Him to be,
 and whatever your labors and aspirations,
 in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
 it is still a beautiful world.
 Be cheerful.
 Strive to be happy.
7686  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What do you think of North Korea? on: May 08, 2018, 01:19:09 PM
Even though North korea is talking of peace and all I would not trust their leader and his actions.

He is going thru the motions since his nuclear testing has stalled and his country is dying of hunger and the economy is in ruins.

If North Korea had the money and the technology they would not be talking of peace but war.

You can take the tiger ou of the jungle but never the jungle out of the tiger. Once a dictator always a dictator.

Now watch them award Kin Jung-Un the noble peace prize!  Roll Eyes

7688  Economy / Collectibles / Re: WTB- TREZOR FIRST EDITION METAL WALLET on: May 08, 2018, 12:49:25 PM
What if it's used? And I thought all trezors were metal?

As I recall the aluminum Trezors were pre-sold at 3 btc and no more than about 200(?) aluminum cases were CNC machined. Plastic original Trezors sold for 1 btc. Here is a picture of aluminum Trezors laid out on a table:

There may have been some aluminum Trezors or cases unsold and kept as Trezor sold twenty metallics in 2016 (sold out in one day) in combination with a Cryptosteel. Hope you find one!

Very nice BTCNews...good info to know...now I need to find one!
7689  Economy / Economics / Re: The advantages of bitcoin on: May 08, 2018, 11:02:11 AM
Hmm..the advantages of BTCitcoin for me are

  Ease of use to sending money in the form of Bitcoin to other people

  Private...I do not have to go thru any banking or paypal system and diveulge information on who is sending and is receiving. So privacy is key.

  Its fast, no longer do I have to wait for the bank to place a wire transfer and wait in line to fill out forms..again privacy issue.

  Low transaction fees...I do not have to pay PAYPAL or a bank an exorbitant amount to send the money.

  Can do it easily thru a mobile wallet in an instant...all I need is a Bitcoin address and the coin can be sent anywhere around the world/

  And last but least,...there is no middle man to get involved to make them richer of off my back
7690  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin's price is so volatile right now! Why should I even hold? on: May 07, 2018, 08:15:39 PM
HODL HODL HODL

I buy and hodl because i know bitcoin has only started its climb to reach 100k and up.

  People who are selling are either panicking newbies or day traders squeezing out newbies...locking in profits or shorting bitcoin.

  You have to look at bitcoin charts for long term not short-term hodling.
7691  Economy / Economics / Re: Why people dump their Bitcoins ? on: May 07, 2018, 08:12:08 PM
Why do people dump their bitcoin? Like in any other market either they panic or sell off to lock in their profits..especially traders who are not interested in buying and hodling onto bitcoin.

   There is also the fear of losing money especially when buying at a higher price and the price of bitcoin plummets.

    I used to fall in that category. Now i just buy and hodl regardless of what the price of bitcoin is. I am in for the long term of bitcoin and am not affected by the constant price swings the market sees on a daily basis
7692  Other / Off-topic / Re: Jesus Christ is comming back here on: May 07, 2018, 08:07:27 PM
Where has Jesus been the past 2000 years?

Allowing all the atrocities mankind has committed thru the centuries..to name a few...holocaust...Zimbabwe genocide...spanosh inquisition ..Turkish genocide against the armenians.

    How can this evil be permitted to happen and Jesus not come back and put a stop to it.

    Why is he coming back now? Everybody always wants a messiah to come back and save them. I dont think this will be happening at all. Sad but that is reality.
7693  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does the lawsuit of Bitcoin.com affect Bitcoin prices? on: May 07, 2018, 07:41:13 PM
First of Roger Ver can go to hell.

Bitcoin was here first...his shitty alt coin bth can go with him too.

Bitcoin was here first and will be the only Bitcoin no matter the amount of propaganda he comes up with.

That being said..no the lawsuit should in no way affect the price of bitcoin at all...nothing has changed in bitcoin except Ver slandering it.
7694  Other / Off-topic / Re: Would you kill your own children if God commanded you to? on: May 07, 2018, 01:58:12 PM
No I would not.

Just because in the old testament God commanded Abraham to kill his son and he was willing to do so does not mean it was right.

First of I do not think that this story actually happened.

And If a God did command me I would flat out refuse.

I do not think God would ask for anyone to do such a vile act to begin with.

My God is an all loving God who would never condone such atrocities!
7695  Other / Off-topic / Re: Human's immortality on: May 07, 2018, 01:51:32 PM
First of...a person would want to be immortal.

The question is, is that a wise desicion? Seeing all your friends and relatives dies off while you live on forever?

Thats is if you want to and they do not. I can only imagine what living forever does to the brain too.

I think there will be a time the human mind will be able to be transferred into a computer like brain that will allow a person to
continue existance forever.

On my end, I think a person should allow nature to take its course and when dead to move on into the spirit world as God intended.

Then again to each his own.
