Fun.
gave me a better rating for post quality than I expected.
(and thank you for the easy instructions)
It just calculates from 75 post. +75 is good and lower is bad. At the same time it includes the quoted text. It doesn't really show the quality. It's about length of the posts.
It does not include quoted text. Anything in the quote boxes are disregarded.

Yes, it is the length, but length is usually an indicator of quality. Otherwise there is no way to check post quality without writing an AI for it.
7682  Other / Meta / Re: Buying Bitcointalk Account??? on: January 18, 2016, 03:59:38 AM
There is no rule against using multiple accounts at the same time.

However if a person is banned, then he is not allowed to use any accounts even if those are not banned.

Also, having multiple accounts by the same user constantly post and bump a thread may be considered spamming. Same with alts talking to each other.
7683  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcointalk Account price estimator on: January 17, 2016, 10:54:36 PM
I tried to check my account but the system is hanging.

It keeps saying:
Request is processing. Please wait.

Am i doing something wrong?

P.S. Javascript is on
Nothing is wrong. It is doing exactly that, processing the request. What is your token?
7684  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: about the signature compaign on: January 17, 2016, 10:34:36 PM
Most sig campaigns will not accept newbies. You must post, a little bit and for some time to rank up in order to join a sig campaign. Once you are a junior member, then you can join some campaigns. Here is a list: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=615953.0.

When you post, do not spam. Post usefully and constructively. If the question has already been answered, don't answer it again just to get posts in. If you have nothing constructive to add to the conversation, don't post. If you having nothing useful to say, don't post. If you are posting for the sake of posting, don't post. Those will be considered spam and deleted, you are just making more work for mods. Spamming and being in a sig campaign is a fast way to get banned.
7685  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Will Armory support the Bitcoin Classic fork? on: January 17, 2016, 10:15:13 PM
Well, there might be a few more specific questions - eg, regarding file names and directory names.

(1) What if the daemon for Bitcoin Classic has a name other than 'bitcoind'?
Currently I don't think armory can handle that, but this scenario is unlikely.

(2) What if the home directory for Bitcoin Classic has a name other than '~/.bitcoin/'?
The data directory can already be changed, so this is taken care of already.

Or perhaps the user could simply rename the Bitcoin Classic filename / directory name to match the Qt names?
Could do that

Or perhaps Bitcoin Classic will actually be released using the same names that Qt used?
That will most likely happen. It is a fork of Bitcoin Core, which already uses bitcoind; there is no reason to rename it.
7686  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Auto-setting min relay fee + RBF possible attack vector in 0.12 on: January 17, 2016, 08:11:05 PM
Reading the release notes for 0.12 RC I was wondering of a possible attack vector introduced there so would like to check the scenario here before doing further review of the code (yeap - sometimes asking saves a lot of time) and testing it out.

- PR #6722 adds an automatic update of the min relay fee when mempool is full
- New version enables RBF

Possible scenario:
1. Flood the network with a chained TXs with high fee to use most of the standard mempool size space, bump out others txs and set a high minimum fee
2. Change through RBF the first TX with a higher fee to invalidate the entire chain
3. Long time for the entire blockchain to recover and possible disruption of services that don't rebroadcast their txs

- Cost of running the attack would be VERY low if RBF invalidates the entire chain before its added to a block.
- Making a chain of very large transactions (multiples txins and txouts) would allow for quickly fill up mempool with lower risk of propagation delay of the RBF transaction.

Ways to avoid the impact:
- RBF can only be issued if it changes entire tx chain
- RBF recalculates min relay fee based on mempool size (anticipates the half life of fee decay)

Is this scenario a possible attack vector?
IIRC nodes only store up to 25 transactions in an unconfirmed transaction chain in their mempools. Anything more than that will not be kept in the mempool and will simply be rejected.

Also, I think since changing that transaction would invalidate the entire chain, the chain would also be discarded.
7687  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How to convert uncompressed HEX to WIF and vice versa ? on: January 17, 2016, 07:31:14 PM
This is how it is done: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Wallet_import_format

And you can do it online at this site: https://gobittest.appspot.com/PrivateKey
7688  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: I have a question about blockchain.info...please help on: January 17, 2016, 06:04:11 PM
How do I resend with a higher fee?
My balance is 0.00 in the wallet and I tried to send anyways and it says"no free outputs to send"
You will have to import the address into another wallet in order to resend it. Blockchain.info does not allow double spending.

Is there a way to cancel the transaction since its not confirmed??
no.

I need 3 confirmations before it will show up in my account and be accessible to me....how can I get this comfirmed? Or what are my options?
You can either wait for it to become confirmed, wait for it to drop from the network and then resend with a higher fee, or to attempt a double spend with a higher fee.

If you wait for it to drop, then after a few days, it should disappear from the network and then you can resend the transaction but include a higher fee.

If you want it faster now, then you can try resending it now but with a higher fee.

If you do not have your backup, there is nothing anyone can do. You have lost your Litecoins and nothing can be done about it.

Sir,
i am just saying that, if staff can change my payout LTC address (at litecoinpool.org) to my latest LTC wallet address, so that i wont lost any further LTCs which i will be getting from mining....
You are in the wrong place for that. This is not a support forum for litecoinpool. This is a Bitcoin Forum, and we are not support staff of litecoinpool. You must contact THEIR support.
7691  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: What do you do with wallets containing dust? on: January 17, 2016, 05:04:41 PM
Haha this sounds more complicated than I thought. Do you know of a guide with step by step instructions? I guess it's probably not worth the 2 cents haha.
You can import them to another wallet. Or, if you really don't want those wallets, you can give the private keys to me  Grin

Or make them public, let it be a race Smiley

This is how the thread started out

Here's where we are now... lol
--img snip--
Heh.

Back to topic. Since you are using Mycelium, you should be able to export the master private key. Then install Electrum on a desktop and create a new wallet by selecting the option "Restore a wallet or import keys". In the large text box that follows, make sure that you enter all of the master private keys from your mycelium wallets. If none of those wallets had an address with more Bitcoin, then make sure you export the private key for an address that does have more and import it also into that Electrum wallet. Then you can send the dust with something else from that Electrum wallet.

Where do I find the tx id in my blockchain.info wallet?
It's it the hash?

When I sent the transaction there was only 16 satoshi left and that's what they
Took as the fee and if I changed a setting...I just have accidentally hit did that.

I'll post the tx Id as soon as I know where I can find it.

Thanks
Go to the My Transactions tab. Then click on the transaction you sent and a details window will appear. Click on the link next to Hash. Copy and Paste that link to a post here. That will give us the details of the transaction that we need.

7695  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: bitcoin core 0.11.2 on windows never gets mor than 8-10 connections on: January 17, 2016, 04:03:25 PM
thanks, if that's true.. ..why is nobody providing blocks?  these 8 peers provide nothing for 5-10 minutes at a time or more.
Blocks come at 10 minute intervals on average so that could be the data that you are getting. However you should be seeing data for transactions.
i'm still 1 year and 18 weeks behind.  yesterday i was 1 year and 19 weeks behind.
So you are still syncing. Try opening Help > Debug Window and then the Network Traffic tab in Bitcoin Core. It will show you how much you have sent and received. A lot of times the entire block data you still need to sync is downloaded at the very beginning. It just takes Bitcoin Core a while to process the data that it has received. In that case, the bottleneck is not on the network but on your CPU or Hard drive.

7697  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: What do you do with wallets containing dust? on: January 17, 2016, 03:52:02 PM
If you have another address with more Bitcoin, when you want to pay for something, send the transaction with those dust outputs combined into the transaction and let them become your fee.

Woah woah woah what?! How do I do that from a separate wallet though? I'm using mycelium.
The easiest would be to import all of the private keys from your dust wallets and then one private key for an address that has more Bitcoin on it then send a transaction. Otherwise, you could attempt to build the transaction manually and then have it be signed by each wallet.

It is harder to do if all of the addresses are in different wallets.

Fairly certain that bitcore: https://bitcore.io/ is a full node software as well.
7699  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Running Bitcoin Core and Armory on a Mac with blockchain data on external drive? on: January 17, 2016, 03:44:30 PM
On Mac OS X, how can I run Bitcoin Core and Armory such that both use custom folders on an external drive to store the blockchain data?

By default, everything is in ~/Library/Application Support/Bitcoin and ~/Library/Application Support/Armory

I want it to be in /Volumes/MyExternalDrive/Bitcoin and /Volumes/MyExternalDrive/Armory

How do I accomplish this?
In the command for starting up Bitcoin Core, add the flag
Code:
--datadir=<path to external Bitcoin Core data folder>
and in the command for starting Armory
Code:
--datadir=<path to external armory data folder> --satoshi-datadir=<path to external Bitcoin Core data folder>
