7701  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTB] 0.5 BTC Brass Casascius or 0.1 BTC Lealana Brass or Silver PF on: August 11, 2021, 06:53:21 PM
I have a 0.5 BTC loaded brass Casascius coin I may be willing to part with at the right price. Along with others who may have this coin, I’m curious what you would be looking to pay for said coin as the price is the sole determining factor of whether or not I would be interested in trading with you. Feel free to drop me a PM with an offer when you’re able. Good luck!
7702  Other / Politics & Society / Re: When is the 3rd dose scheduled for american soldiers? on: August 11, 2021, 06:50:09 PM
Yesterday’s heroes being threatened to be treated as war criminals if they don’t get the vaccine. This is totally normal… I wonder how many soldiers will be jailed and how many nurses will be fired over their belief that they should have the right to choose whether or not to get the vaccine… Looks like the efforts to get everyone in a booster program are being stepped up to ruining the lives of those who refuse…
7703  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN] bitpic - Metal Bitcoin Picture Wallet on: August 11, 2021, 09:27:52 AM
Do you own a bitpic?  If so, please reach out to me via a personal message on this forum.  I have a free gift I would like to discuss how to give to you and what is involved on your end in order to make it happen.  If you know of anyone that may own a bitpic and you're reading this message, please pass it on to them.  It's cool to be able to offer something as a free bonus to go along with these bitpics after so long and I hope I'm able to find some owners and do so.
7704  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: mining vs selling to the grid on: August 11, 2021, 12:00:12 AM
So let's say that mining is more profitable than selling to the grid.

OK, then what stops the big utilities from using their electricity to mine as opposed to selling it to the consumer? The regulator authorities?

That’s just not how business is done… Utilities have investors and boards, etc. Those people have diversified investment portfolios and long term financial plans. Their investments serve purposes and it is important that the underlying businesses play their role and not chase whatever fad is hot at the moment.

Basically, businesses don’t just change their business models. The shops that sold shovels to gold miners didn’t close down their thriving businesses to start digging in creeks.

Dennis Schroder’s rejection of the Lakers 80 million dollar contract has to be one of the biggest blunders ever. I’m happy he did it, because it was obvious he wasn’t worth the 80 million dollars, but seeing him now try to negotiate a 5 million dollar contract which he may not even get to play on a worse team has to be humbling for him. He’ll lose 15 million dollars this year alone for gambling on himself. I guess if you’re going to bet on yourself you need a firm grasp on reality. My bet is that Schroder never again has the opportunity to make 80 million dollars.
7706  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Antivaxxers work for the big pharma on: August 10, 2021, 09:24:30 PM
Wrong. They want us all on booster programs forever. In order to do so, they need to get us all to take the shot. Since it isn’t justified, those of us healthy people who refuse are an enemy. They need everyone on board with this to get to the level where we all pay for it with our taxes and let them inject us with whatever they say, no questions asked. In order to accomplish this they used fear of death then fear of killing your family and when that didn’t work they offered bribes, then finally tried to say you’d get erectile disfunction if you don’t get it. Now they’re attempting to restrict your rights to force you to get it. If enough people go along, I’m sure we’d reach the point where they’re forcibly doing door to door vaccinations. They’ll probably need to change the gun laws first though, so I suspect we’ll be seeing in increase in public shootings as they turn to false flags once all the willing have been vaccinated. Stay safe. Be prepared.
7707  Economy / Securities / Re: 📈 NastyFans: The Bitcoin Enthusiast Fan Club (est. 2012) on: August 09, 2021, 10:10:38 PM
I would like to know what the future plans are for the organization I see that not much has been said lately.

It’s a community organization. Nothing will happen unless people make it happen… As for my part, I recently purchased over $10K worth of Minted Seats to give away, am running an ASIC miner and a GPU miner for the club, and will continue to offer my goods for sale with donations being sent to NastyFans. There is also the buyback offer for those who don’t want to help participate in the growth of NastyFans which acts as a liquidity pairing to the auction. I’ve talked to TheAnalogKid about getting a Lightning node going so we can start to mess around with that, and there’s almost always daily discussion about NFTs, DeFi, & Altcoin opportunities in our Slack group, but fans have historically been against wading into those waters.

If there’s anything I can do to help anyone in relation to NastyFans with getting something going, I’ll always try and do my best so feel free to reach out and if you’d like more regular discussion with other NastyFans then send me your email address and I can invite you to the group.
7708  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Youtube channel - what would you like to see? on: August 09, 2021, 08:35:21 PM
That's aiming pretty high, but if it ever were to happen I would love the chance to be able to donate something for the video or be involved somehow.  Would love to meet Jimmy and the team.  My current support has been confined to ordering Mr Beast Burgers and merchandise.  It's absolutely amazing what they've been able to accomplish using YouTube.  His philanthropy channel continues to grow and support more and more food banks.
Yeah, it was more in jest than anything. We are relatively small timers I guess, and I don't watch enough of MrBeast's content to know if he's even interested in Bitcoin? I only know of him, and the type of content he does. I believe he puts in almost all of his sponsorship earnings back into the channel, and that's why he's able to give away thousands, and sometimes millions of dollars per video.

Mr Beast is actually a Bitcoin user. He has tweeted about it and gave away thousands of dollars in Bitcoin over Twitter. You never know, he may be willing to give a shout out or something if you got in contact with his team. He’s pretty good about not letting other people hijack his platform for clout, but maybe he’d be willing to do something for the chase if he really is a Bitcoiner… Can’t hurt to drop a few emails.
7709  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 09, 2021, 12:36:00 AM
Looks like we keep seeing slow rises met with accumulation. At some point they will run out of sellers and this thing will blast off to the moon. I think we see large monthly gains these next couple of months as the news starts showing people getting rich again. We just need to hold onto our coins a little bit longer friends.
7710  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 08, 2021, 02:02:08 AM
Feels like we’re one little piece of news away from testing the ATH. I expect we’ll see a pretty massive jump sooner than later. We need to move up about 300% in the next 4 months so it’s about time to get this party started. My advice is to make sure you’re ready for a big run because it’ll happen quick and you’ll wake up feeling like you missed out otherwise.

I’m glad the US team came through to grab their 4th straight gold. I would think given the large concentration of NBA players it would look a little bad on the league if that didn’t happen. It was rough going at first but in the end they did what was expected of them and I’m glad to see it. The competition gets better every year but I think it’ll be another 2-3 Olympic Games before the US really loses it’s favorite status.
7712  Other / Politics & Society / Re: CNN FIRES 3 STAFF FOR COVID-19 VACCINATION on: August 06, 2021, 11:55:06 PM
If you switch the word 'vaccination' with 'abortion' you can get an interesting response from those defending each.  The two issues seem to have a lot of common ground, except that one murders the young and the other protects the old.

Imagine your employer finding out you got an abortion and firing you because of it.  The arguments here would change very quickly.  Maybe we should start thinking deeper about why that is and if we're really protecting the right people in this society.
7713  Other / Meta / Re: Proposal: to remove fully posts rather than "This user is currently ignored". on: August 06, 2021, 11:48:52 PM
It would be great if this worked both ways as well.  Obsessive users can cause quite a distraction when they want to and their intentions almost never have what's best for Bitcoin in mind.  Sometimes like the AT&T girl and with regards to certain users and my input here, I feel like they've "lost the privilege of looking at it" and this should be reflected with a block button.  I've already made the request for the new forum software, but I'm sure there are plenty of already written block updates for SMF that could be simply implemented here if it was desired to do so.
7714  Other / Meta / Re: NFT Topic? on: August 06, 2021, 06:34:35 PM
NFTs are huge right now. I own a few myself and have really enjoyed the experience and the communities behind them. It’s great how positive and supportive everyone is. I’d love a place to discuss my Stoner Cats and Pudgy Penguins. No matter how useless NFTs seem, the infrastructure is growing quickly and I don’t think it will be much longer before a truly useful and sought after NFT collection is released.

Iguana signed back with the Warriors and it’s looking like a Wiggins for Ben Simmons deal is close to happening. I’m not sure how I feel about that. I thought Wiggins was a perfect fit alongside the splash brothers, while Ben Simmons can’t shoot the ball, literally. I guess there’s no better place to learn to shoot, but this seems like Golden State is really risking a lot here.
7716  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 06, 2021, 06:14:30 PM
Stock to flow model remaining intact. Looks like we’re about to blastoff. Everything is aligning perfectly like it seems to do every four years for a massive moonshot. I wouldn’t bet against a $135K BTC in December and I think $200K is more likely than most truly believe. See you there!
7717  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Youtube channel - what would you like to see? on: August 05, 2021, 11:38:12 PM
If Mr. Beast sees this post and thread, he will be so happy that no one here can expect. He always loves to see that people all over the world are talking about him.  He also said on his channel that he doesn’t want to die with a lot of money in his bank, he just wants to live in people’s minds.
I smell a future possible collaboration.

Will there be sponsorship opportunities for the channel, or has there been discussion of a merchandise line?  That seems to be the popular way to fund YouTube channels as the Nelk Boys are estimated to make $70 million dollars per year off their clothing line.  Not sure Bitcointalk would ever reach those levels, but raising enough funds to support the creator and give away some life changing prizes is certainly possible.
7718  Economy / Securities / Re: 📈 NastyFans: The Bitcoin Enthusiast Fan Club (est. 2012) on: August 05, 2021, 11:22:27 PM
NastyMining will buy back any amount of seats for 0.0005 BTC per seat and will extend this offer for the next several months.

Reminder that NastyMining is willing to purchase up to 15 BTC of NastyFans seats for 0.0005 BTC per seat. All you need to do is list your seats on the auction at https://nastyfans.org and drop me a PM to let me know once you have done so. I hope this helps ease concerns about the inability to place buy orders on the auction resulting in a perceived lack of liquidity.

In today’s NBA drama, Ben Simmons has reportedly cutoff contact with everyone in the Philadelphia 76ers organization including ignoring calls from Joel Embid. Ben Simmons is saying he wants to end up on one of the California teams. I think his trade request could’ve been handled better but I understand he’s mad about the playoffs… This is how you end up a Sacramento King.
7720  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: holding is not an easy thing on: August 05, 2021, 08:42:40 PM
One common thing I've heard over the years from many people is the quote, "all you did was buy Bitcoin."  It's funny to me, because I made my first Bitcoin purchase for myself recently and it was a very miniscule amount.  I've actually found the people who say that to me have ALWAYS purchased more Bitcoin than I have and yet never saw success because they sold and didn't believe.  If holding was easy, then that wouldn't be the case.  Nowadays you have lots of options to spend your Bitcoin, and many people feel the need to do so in order to lock in profits.  So next time someone wearing Jordan's on their feet tells you that all you did was hold Bitcoin, show them the holes in your underwear and tell them being wealthy isn't for everybody.  Cheesy
