As some of you know, I mine domain names, and sell them for Bitcoin. Recently I found some nice names, but they were used as HYIP sites. One that I want to use for domain name listing offered a monthly refurn of 150%, and it seem to have got itself banned in a few locations. That's not really surprising, as you have to be really stupid to believe that anyone would share such a great money making system. I'd like to publicise the fact that I am the new owner of the domain names, and that they no longer offer investment services, or solicit investments from gullible forum members.
Is there a board on Bitcoin Talk that I can use for such an announcement.

Invest in yourself and expanding your knowledge. For example, you can mine domain names, and sell them for Bitcoin. A $9 hand reg name can yield $100 or more in Bitcoin. However, like everything else, you need to learn what sells and how to buy it. Always remember, you have to invest money to lose money.

Well my listing is now on page 3 as I predicted. I won't bump it - not even to increase my activity count. It has received over 200 views, and it would be interesting to know the mix of surfers who opened the thread.

I'm not converting my Bitcoin. I'm funding my domain registration account with dollars, flipping the names, and taking payment in Bitcoin. I keep the Bitcoin of course. I felt this was a better option than converting my dollars into Sterling, and paying bank charges. This is a fairly recent decision of mine, and so far it's going well.

I've listed Bitcoin Locations.com for sale on the Name Silo market place. The buy it now price is $2,000, but I will accept a substantially lower offer from a Bitcoin Talk member. Payment is to be made via a Name Silo account, and you can use a wide variety of methods including Bitcoin. Once payment is confirmed, the name is transferred by Name Silo for immediate use at no cost to the buyer. Just click on the link above to make an offer for this great Bitcoin name. Registered with Name Silo - expiry date 2018-05-04

I agree with the OP. I've tried listing some Bitcoin related domain names for sale, but by the time I've got the lid off my coffee, I'm on page 3. Domain names are the virtual real extate for the Internet, and Bitcoin is the best medium for dealing in virtual assets. Unfortunately Bitcoin talk is not the place to bring the two together, and I think the forum is the poorer because of this.
I'll dig out a name and try an experiment to illustrate this.

It's probably one user - Amazon, Obama, Soros or the like.

Forgive me, but isn't this forum called Bitcoin talk. It isn't the Bitcoin bank, Ponzi plaza, accounts'r'us, Brexit uncovered or any of the other things mentioned in various posts. There are some special interest boards, and that is good, for example, alt coin discussions have a useful place on alt boards. I'd like to see Bitcoin talk return to informed discussions, technical issues, and help for members using Bitcoin. Unfortunately it is hard to find and follow these threads in the mass of flotsam and jetsam that keeps floating to the surface.

If there is a massive drop in Bitcoin, then there is a possibility that other coins will follow. If you want to diversify, then gold or domain names could be the answer. You question really implies that another coin will replace Bitcoin, and that won't happen unless some organisation manages to gain control. However, due to the high price of Bitcoin, there may be alternatives that provide faster growth of capital.

I can't see that it's a cycle. If the price goes up, then it is natural for people to look for a reason. The same thing probably happens with gold, copper, dollars and other investments.

I seem to be logged in permanently. All I do is to visit the site, and I'm logged in, no captcha or fancy clicking required. That's on all 3 machines that I use, and in Firefox and Chrome.

Come on - the EU is swamped with immigrants. We need to get rid of all the spongers, and keep the industrious ones. The growtrh rate is so high that they are having to introduce forced vaccinations to try to kill off a lot of the population.

If you are asking about holdings in virtual assets, then most of my investments are in domain names. I have a bit (please excuse the pun) in Bitcoin, and an even smaller bit in the alts that I got from the forkings.

If he could afford to make daily payments of 0.8 Bitcoin, he wouldn't. He would keep the money for himself. There is no easy way to make money from these sites, unless you are the scammer of course.

I ignore the trust rating, and I form my own opinion.
That's a horrible stance to have and can only lead to problems. Not for me - look at all the negs in Shorena's trust rating. People seem to use the trust system as a weapon or for extortion. I think reading a person's posting history can give one a much better idea of their morality.

The internet has become a minefield.

There will certainly be a correction, there always is as people take profits. The question is when and how big. If there is a $2,000 correction after the value has gone through $10,000, then you will have missed out.
The big unknown is whether Amazon, Google and the banks are sucking Bitcoin out of the market to destabilise Bitcoin. Microsoft could render a few wallets inaccessible as well. That would be a cheap way to push up the price.
|
|
|
Too late - I've just withdrawn the money in my domain sales account, and I've taken it in Bitcoin. I've already lost a bit by waiting for the correction, so I've decided not to wait in the future. I'm not spending the Bitcoin, it's all savings, so I expect the price will be higher even if it drops over the next couple of weeks.

It's legality is not the issue - it's desirability is.

I ignore the trust rating, and I form my own opinion. Maybe it's time to dump the trust thing. These systems never seem to work- look at the abuse of the system on Ebay for example.
