^ Eh I actually got bored by the first 15 mins f I'm honest and switched to not football after Leicester got their win, nothing else really interesting. Did anyone else think Inter let Juve win or are they finally being found out and maybe playing with too much Moretti in their belly heh.

P.S. Good on Copa, def in, I love throwing money away in short comps too;)
7722  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io - Welcome back to the Premier League- Watford FC!! 🚀 on: May 15, 2021, 07:52:31 PM
Happy that Leicester won -- it's their first ever so wow, well done to those teammates who won the EPL and stayed, so much sweeter I bet -- but agree, VAR ruined what could have gone on to be a frantic final moments of the game with extra time. But, having already frothed at the mouth over VAR in the EPL, I'll say that I've seen even sillier offside calls, where people not even facing forwards, and leaning back, shoelace, armpit, etc, all got fantastic goals chalked off.

Still, worthy winner of a goal!

7723  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io "Soccer Blackjack" @ 21.00 odds on: May 15, 2021, 04:38:17 PM
Joined today's Serie A edition;)

Re yesterday. I actually stopped watching after HT, also thought it was going to be a solid bust and record-breaking 30+ points. Happy for the push at any rate, should probably thank City for not going for it (don't know didn't watch but assume from low corner count) or this would be the third bust after our second win so quick;)

But Newcastle, seriously, they should have and could have won that one!
7724  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: May 15, 2021, 02:47:01 PM
He missed one against Huddersfield in his first season with us. It was a bad penalty and a bizarre situation as well because we didn't have a specified penalty taker then. Milner was usually taking them but when he wasn't playing you never knew who was going to take it. So, Firmino was first one we tried, he missed, then Salah missed so we switched back to Firmino, he missed again, then Mane missed the next one. If they scored, maybe salah would not be taking them today.

But after that miss he scored all of them and now has 16 scored out of 17 attempts - which is a great result. I disliked his style at the beginning as well but he's worked on his penalties a lot and he really takes them confidently now.

Ah man, you certainly helped trigger a memory but yes, Milner was actually our designated penalty taker for a while (he was pretty okay too actually, no nonsense) but I know he still takes it if Salah isn't on the pitch. It's actually pretty amazing to look back and see how Salah became our guy for penalties but wow, 16 out of 17 is as good as it gets for anyone!

Huddersfield narrowly missed relegation too, for another throwback. Not nearly as dramatic as Derby, but it's crazy just how easy it can be to slip down the waves once you relegate from Premiership money.

Well, what do you know, Newcastle almost gave me a second straight big win, and when they actually led, I thought it was going to be a nice night. 2-2 at HT wasn't too bad either, imagine if they could play like this every time?

Going to go for two 2-leg parlays, 100 units each at Sportsbet. Latter odds are actually worse but I just wanted to use SB;):
Saints (live)/Brighton @6.87. Other odds: 6.00
Bet ID:609fd77b338b0b239c0403a5
Inter/Spurs @5.26. Other odds: 5.40
Bet ID: 609fd7a99b465b73630f55e2

Units advantage: +87-14 =73

Running advantage after 340 bets: +23,093 (+73)
All-time cumulative: +61,491
Running units after 339 bets (404W|285L): +13,581 (-100)
7726  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ COPA America ⚽ Prediction Pool Discussion Thread on: May 15, 2021, 01:46:34 PM
Made some good calls in last one and yeah, anything to fill ke in while wallowing in the misery of pre season so count me in.

Suarez and Messi probably still going to give this a go. Uruguay gave quite good value in qualifications maybe a nice outright. Chile probably a decent run. But let's see what the bookies think.
7727  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: May 15, 2021, 11:29:12 AM
Yup, leea, quite like Salah for Liverpool. Actually can't remember the last time he missed a penalty. He has a unique style I used to think was risky but he's always on target so good for him. We haven't had many penalties this season but that's fine too...

Leeds, Saints, Brighton wins for me today. Probably a deaw would be wise but most of them have nothing to play for now except West Ham but I'd really like to think those with less pressure now will play more aggressive football for goals. Can be strange when you no longer have pressure to play with freedom. Which makes our game tomorrow also dangerous but I prefer to play aggressive teams as we get more space to play up front.

BTTS parlays on all three today?
7728  Economy / Speculation / Re: Musk only wanted to transfer attention to his BTC mining bussiness - don't FUD on: May 15, 2021, 10:20:15 AM
@Wind_FURY hear hear. Nothing changes what has always made Bitcoin strong and what will continue to strengthen the premise of Bitcoin.

If anything, those who really care and want to find out more, will do so now that this discussion (as erroneous as and uncontextual the facts are when they are slapped on like he did) is again out there.

Fud makes me happy, what can I say.
7729  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: May 15, 2021, 09:47:33 AM
Nice design from Adidas, but wait I can't see the sportsbets.io logo or the write up anywhere on the jersey or what was the agreement again?
Don't know the exact wording but Sportsbet is not main Arsenal sponsor, they are their betting partner or something like that. In real life that means they have those adverts around the pitch on Arsenal stadium and not on the shirt. Sportsbet is main sponsor for Southampton and here we have all those nice SB an BTC badges on shirts.

To my understanding yup, main betting partner and also they have some official agreements for Augmented Reality trials with Arsenal... And also sponsor womens coaching in Estonia with the really cool Gunners womens coaching team.

Shirt sponsorship is already tied down. Usually the biggest since it's the most prominent, and that was only for Saints now tied down for three years, and Watford it's not clear for next season.
7730  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin not yet at $100k, why? on: May 15, 2021, 08:45:14 AM
Maybe because there are still about 50k USD that the market has to go through before getting in and there has been some bad news lately that got interpreted worst than it should have been and now the prices has to recover back up. And also, why do you want it to move that fast? There's still 7 moths left for that to happen so don't think about it and also this purgatory in prices is a good opportunity to buy bitcoin because if it really goes up then you will be missing a lot not buying amd accumulating right now.

Still a reverse reasoning if you're transfixed to demand meeting market expectations. I think the only justifications for 100k at the moment are supply ratio to flow... Dare I say that s2f model being harped around.

And that actually is pretty much still on track. Doesn't mean it always has to be on track. Return to the mean should ensue once we get past this period of panic.
7731  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ BitcoinPRBuzz.com's ⚽ Italian Serie A ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: May 14, 2021, 06:25:31 PM
You sure about that? I remember that season when Leicster lifted the trophy, they just bought Kramaric and he was far away from first team and quickly went on a loan deal. I always thought he got the medal for that anyway. He played maybe 3 games max, probably even less.

I actually only knew last season when Liverpool won the league (yeah, yeah I know, but who needs to know things when their team doesn't win, right?). Klopp complained quite a lot because he apparently also didn't know about the rules that you need to play 5 games or you don't get the winners' medal. I don't know who didn't get it though because of the rule.

This confirms it: https://www.premierleague.com/news/1608983
7732  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ BitcoinPRBuzz.com's ⚽ Italian Serie A ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: May 14, 2021, 04:13:34 PM
Juventus still has quite a fixtures at hand themselves, they're playing Inter Milan, and Inter doesn't seem to care one bit about winning the league already, they're still going about every game like business as usual. If Juventus can win both their fixtures then, they'll have a good chance because Atalanta vs AC Milan would face each other in the last round.

Good for Inter, but I totally get it. You've got no more pressure, and just want to set more records and more goals and more playing time. Not sure about the rules in Serie A but will be surprised if Conte doesn't let fringe players get more game time just to get a winner's medal. It's only 2 games left so it wouldn't have mattered to most in EPL where you need 5 games, but maybe it's different in Serie A?

Forgot also that Atalanta/Milan meet again, but even if Milan loses, they're still above Juve on H2H, so really it's Napoli that Juve need to at least draw once, so Juve yeah, just need to win everything left and hope pray for a slip.
7733  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: May 14, 2021, 12:28:37 PM
Didn't even get a close score but doubt many people would have with that scoreline! One more week and then we'll know I think how it all plays out.

@Harkorede @hilarious
Probably, yeah, I thought it would go in too but from the angle behind the goal Alisson's eyes and hands were following, and he actually comfortably would reach the bottom corner, but anyway, I suppose Nat doesn't mind not getting an unwanted OG to his name. Just don't want Fernandez up the charts. Personally happy Salah levelled with Kane now for Golden Boot. Will be a nice bonus to get that one more time.

I'm going for another Toons win. Won't be the same 25/1 Benitez win 2 seasons ago that everyone thought won Liverpool the title, but still =)

Well done on your yellow Harko. 2 points behind you, I couldn't make it!
7734  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +61316 units on: May 14, 2021, 09:44:46 AM
The joys of a big Liverpool win, and even more joyous that it was against United, even if we know they already guarantee top four, they still played their strongest squad so it was a good win after all. Brugge and Verona drew/lost, so we lost our multi. No matter!

City nothing to play for, Newcastle form hot and heavy, good odds, why not?

100 units at Fairlay on Newcastle to win @11.62. Other odds: 10.60
Units advantage: 102

Running advantage after 339 bets: +23,020 (+102)

7735  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tesla no longer accepts Bitcoin payments on: May 14, 2021, 07:25:32 AM
It's a self-fulfilling prophesy kind of situation. When traders see a tweet from Elon concerning Bitcoin, they expect everyone else to react to it, so they try to be the first to react, and inevitably start the chain. And once momentum builds, it keeps going, because short-term speculators activate, leveraged positions get liquidated, etc.

On a more fundamental level, this was pretty bad, because the enviromental FUD gets more and more attention, so potential institutional investors might decide against getting into BTC if it would get them bad rep.

I suppose it really has become that. I'd just imagined that hedge funds and family offices etc already have trades locked in -- with penalties for closing them early or urgently. But I suppose the penalties pale to the risk they perceive with a potential retail sell-off.

Crazy about this environmental FUD though, how it keeps getting cycled every year with fresh DANGER GLOBAL WARMING headlights.

Strange that they gave the goal to Bruno, when it seemed unclear if the ball was going in. You could see Alisson ready to comfortably catch it, only for our boy Nat to deflect it into the roof with some gusto heh. But he totally redeemed himself, fighting to get the goal and eventually assisting Jota. I gotta say, we were dominating throughout and deserve the HT lead.

Have a betbuilder that just needs a yellow and a win, was actually going for leads at both halves but changed my mind. Silly me =p

45 more minutes!

I posted something else here initially, totally imagining that it was going to be Manchester Utd vs Liverpool haha!

But it's just as good a game. Got a nice bet on Granada at about 8/1 and boosted on Sportsbet could have snagged you 9/1 earlier. Going to be loads of corners and cards, let's see where we go from here eh?

Granada vs Real Madrid

^^
I always point to the Giggs and the Inzaghis here, never making speed part of their game, always honing their minds and tactics and overall physicality/agility rather than speed. Can easily see Modric put in 3/4 more years at current rate if he (and I'm sure he does) takes care of his body. I actually can't really tell the difference watching him now and with Spurs 10 years ago:) Looks at a glance lightweight, but his agility's pretty solid.

Granada's only 8/1 tonight, but I'll probably still take them for fun:)
7739  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ BitcoinPRBuzz.com's ⚽ Italian Serie A ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: May 13, 2021, 12:20:46 PM
Serie A actually saved my acca last night, I went quite big on HT wins from most of the favourites, and then did something idiotic and parlayed it with an "easy" exotic league game. But got my bet back as insurance.

Juventus sweating with 2 games to go I guess now, I don't see any of the top 4 losing any games now that they probably all want Juve to NOT qualify haha. Will be a cool mix of forward-thinking teams in UCL next season, eh guys?

Finally someone says it! Believe me there are so many so called "TA experts" whereas everybody with some (academic) background knows that TA is BS. One reason is the time the market has been around and a second reason is that the past is a bad indicator to correctly predict the future. I mentioned two years because it sounds to be a reasonable time horizon to have a fair chance to not find yourself in the middle of an ongoing crash at least at some point in time. But, and this is a big but, you never know. Can be the same problem in two years as it might be in six months.

I wouldn't go so far as to call it bs, what's BS is that you can swear by it and use it as a completely reliable tool -- it helps and it confirms, and it identifies possible opportunities, but I think the TA I enjoy the most is by those who know what the real deal is with it. Helpful, informative, and entertaining (I admit, I do indulge every now and then cause it's fun to fantasise haha).

I do point out the market's still far too young to build proper TA too -- 2013/14 if you want to be lenient, is still 2 years away from completing a decade's worth of data.
