Virat just doesn't take the risk which Dhoni used to take and still takes by shuffling his bowlers and setting the field. He doesn't have patience and sometimes comes first in order, second then third but mostly doesn't get the number of runs expected from him. RCB have been bad in bowling and batting and they need someone like Gayle again to give them runs. I will talk about his Red Ball captaincy mostly because I don't consider IPL's success-failure in the bigger picture due to various reasons. We already covered that In ODI, Dhoni got his back, we have seen many times when towards the inning Dhoni take charge of Field positions, and Virat covers Long On- Long Off. Virat takes a risk in Red Ball cricket. There is a reason we saw a drastic change in Indian bowling line up. Before the Indian team mostly used to rely on Spinners but Kohli pushed his 4-5 fast bowlers strategy in Red Ball cricket, and we are getting the results. But on Batting strategy and Team selection, he failed miserably. Result; we lost against Proteas and English. Now back to IPL. It's an entirely different set-up. Win and lose margin depends on many factors, captaincy is one of them but will point out only one which is very important and defines the team performance during the whole season. Does Virat have any say during the IPL auction or not?

It is not a horrifying death at all it is pretty funny in fact. I don't care for poaching animals.
I don't care about poachers either but being killed by Elephant and then eaten by big cats sounds bad tbh. but I understand your point of view because you may be seeing this incident as " hunter being hunted" It could be a horrifying death if this guy was still alive while a pride of lions been eating him. I feel like there are much more of such cases in africa but most of them are simply not shown by the media.
Guess, he was already dead when the pride of lions ate him, it mentioned in The Guardian's article. “His accomplices claimed to have carried his body to the road so that passersby could find it in the morning. They then vanished from the park.”

Don't you think it's an indirect pressure for him as a captain. What lacking in the RCB team is a good captaincy. A captain needs to know when to use which of his player. Dhoni is the best example. Give him an average team, he will make it an extra ordinary team.
To be honest I am not really surprised how Virat handles his RCB team in IPL. I have seen him choking or getting over excited on many occasion when playing Red Ball Cricket or White ball cricket. In shorter format he has Dhoni and Rohit, they keep him on the check regularly, I have mentioned this many times whenever I talk about Virat's captaincy. I always feel that Batsman Virat overshadow Captain Kohli and his team in every format be it franchise cricket or International. Viart personally believes in giving his 100% when playing cricket and when he doesn't play cricket he's working hard on his fitness and cricketing skills. and he expects the same from his teammates but they are copying his beard style and Tattoo except for cricketing skills. When the team wins then every mistake hide behind the victory but when you are on losing end it looks pretty ugly. When talking about the pressure of captaincy. he was too proud (or call cockiness) to accept his mistake on many occasions, Read South Africa, England Tour (Red Ball cricket) but now he slowly understanding that every player has a different skill set and not everybody can play like him. the good thing is He plays better cricket as a batsman when he feels the heat and pressure. There is saying that "If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far go together" that's what he needs to learn from Dhoni if he wants to be great Captain.

@eaLiTy @Sithara007 100% agreed with you on this that the majority of cricket viewers belongs to South Asia but I don't see any wrong in this. Our discussion should focus on what ICC doing for World cricket, as of now they are going slow but they indeed trying hard in this regard. I somehow agree with the @Sithara007 point of view because I am in favor of more countries participating in the Cricket World Cup but not accusations and name changing of World Cup lol. @Royse bhai got tired repeating the same argument, again and again, As long as we are discussing cricket related issue within a healthy and respectful manner then it's all fine.

RCB should voluntarily leave the tournament, it's waste of time for them now LOL Kohli needs to start practising for the world cup. :-P
Hahaha, I hope some reporter dare to say the same thing to Kohli during any press conference. Would be great to see Kohli's reaction after this and God save that reporter . I bet he will use his trademark words B....C... hahaha Personally, I don't care RCB losing all the game here, I consider this failure blessing in disguise for Kohli because now less pressure on him which is very necessary for him, I don't want to see break him down mentally or physically before the world cup and he can recharge his energy so that he can bring his "A" game in the World Cup as a captain. Batsman Kohli is all set for the World Cup.

Hey while the tournament is yet to start I can sense the excitement for it on the forum already, as for the upsets is concerned it’s difficult to say if big teams will avoid upsets or not. I remember the World Cup of 2007 lost huge bets because of those upsets, hence this time will be playing wisely. Also I feel the teams that can cause upsets are Afghanistan, West Indies ans Srilanka these three can surprise the top teams.
Yeah, there are lots of excitement among the cricket fans, including Bookies too and not to mention some fixtures like Ind Vs Pak match tickets already sold out and skyrocketing in the black market. I am not expecting a very big upset in this world cup (top team getting out) because there is no Group system in this edition. every team will play 9 matches with each team so its highly unlikely that top teams failing in the row unless they somehow forget how to play . I think that during the tournament run rate, the winning margin can come in gameplay when teams competing for top 4 spots.

Pretty ordinary Sunday for IPL. We witnessed 2 one-sided Match where..
RCB hitting a new low in IPL- Loosing 6 games in a row, I don't recall if other teams ever achieved this special feat. on another side, Delhi needs to reevaluate its strategy as well. their middle order looks shaky atm. they keep to failing to finish the match (Read Rishab Pant and 2 quick wickets in the end). they were lucky that target was 150 runs.
RR disappointed their local fans too. surprisingly it was like they were playing in the Alien conditions and completely unaware of their home condition. KKR were too good for them in all department in the end.
Hope will not witness one-sided matches in upcoming matches.

Loved by billions? I can count 1.5 billion in South Asia (India+Pakistan+Bangladesh). There may be a few million outside (mostly the Indian diaspora). Cricket is the no.1 sport only in South Asia. Even in countries such as Australia and England, its popularity is much lower than that of other sports such as football and boxing. A tournament played by just 10 countries (of that 5 in South Asia) can't be called a "world" cup. They should rename it to something like Commonwealth cricket championship.
Its good to see that you now moved on from your previous accusations and talking about Cricket now. I suggest you should check the links which already posted in this thread by other posters. this would clear your confusion about Cricket popularity around the World. It ranks 2nd in the world. I agree In England and Australia cricket is not the most popular sport despite being a national sport but its arguably in 2 and 3rd spot when competing with Football and Netball/NRL respectively. Having said that you might wanna check Cricket craze during Ashes too. In case you don't know there are almost 90+ countries who play cricket as an Associate member, but they are yet to qualify for Full Member. Recently Afganistan and Ireland promoted as a Full member. I am sure you know what's the condition of Afganistan. its war-torn country and not very rich but still they managed to qualify for Full membership. only because of their dedication and love for the game. if they can then everybody can. If you think ICC doing nothing for World Cricket then that might be news for you that ICC already Gave 20-20 status to All Associate Members. http://www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/id/23324980/t20s-all-icc-members-international-statusAnd I strongly suggest that you should Google " World Cricket League" and check process of qualifier. I am sure, after checking this you will retract your quote can't be called a "world" cup. They should rename it to something like Commonwealth cricket championship.

Whatever the growth for cricket, I think it will always stay in the 2nd place. No one can overtake the popularity of football/soccer in my opinion. It's true that cricket crazy people are mostly in south Asia but everywhere in the world you will find people play football.
Wait for next 30-50 years China will join the big 3 tables ( Indian monopoly finished then lol in terms of viewership), Title would change to Big 4 (England, Aus, India, and China). Japan and Korea doing their best as well. Canada leading the way, Americans trying hard too. In the Western national team, Players from Indian subcontinent can easily migrate if they want to and they do that on a regular basis, another way to create diversity in World cricket.

Anyone is watching CSK vs KXIP?
CSK needs to score big if they want to win this match. They had a good opening partnership already however after 9 over the score is 64 for 1 wicket.
Watching but not enjoying much for some weird reason Maybe, because 3 stands are empty Don't know what BCCI doing, well found the reason. Reason for the three empty stands The three stands in Chepauk have been under legal issues since their construction. The High Court in Madras put a stay on the use of those stands as TNCA altered with the assessment report for those stands. In fact, a criminal case was also issued against TNCA by the High Court in 2013.
The main reason for the tussle is the gymnasium of the Madras Cricket Club (MCC) adjoining the stands. In 2015, the Supreme Court ordered the demolition of parts of the stands and asked the TNCA to send out the plan to the Chennai Municipal Corporation. Though the TNCA agreed, they are yet to get the necessary permission from the state’s Heritage Committee to start the process.
This is why you will always see those stands empty during all the games that take place in the stadium.
Solution There can be only one solution and that is to demolish the illegally constructed stands and make good use of that area so that it doesn't look empty. https://www.sportskeeda.com/cricket/reason-for-three-empty-stands-ma-chidambaram-stadium-chennai
