7781  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's in the game, after all? on: February 25, 2020, 10:58:06 PM
It's true this time, but I could also win two times within the first 5 rolls. I'm sure it happened to you more than once, that you were winning with 10% win chance from the very first try. (Once I won with 1% win chance from the first roll). But neither of that proves anything, imo. It's all down to luck: you can lose everything you have within an hour, and, on the other hand, you can be winning consistently for years in a row. I still don't see a mathematical proof of the impossibility of that.
Winning consistenly for years in a row is like winning at the lottery or finding a suitcase full of banknotes in the street, or even receiving an unwilling transaction on your btc wallet or your bank account, it's very unlikely to happen...
And you shouldn't forget that btc security is based on that : everyone can get the same private key or wallet seed as you, but because of the likelihood of that, it's very unlikely to happen during your lifetime, even if it's not impossible.
7782  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling a threat or fun? on: February 25, 2020, 10:52:39 PM
Like what everyone said, gambling could be your sweetest death lol Grin. If you will not watch your step then hou might be drown on debts. Nevertheless, you can do sometbing to avoid this and the most effective way I think of is treating gambling not so seriously. I mean don't make it as a career, just play for the excitement and hope small returns. Don't ever expect that you can be a millionaire from betting, I know there are stories with samekind of scenario but c'mon! That's not the fate of each one of us lol. Play - Enjoy - Earn - Repeat, but stop don't forget to change "Repeat" to "Go home" when you already losing what you can't afford.
If you can't dream of becoming millionaire by gambling there is no point in playing. If people gamble it's mostly because it's their only way to get a chance of becoming rich. I agree there are few chances of becoming millionaire by playing games of chance because of the law of probabilities on the long run but some games are not totally random. The games where you play against other people are not fully random in general. Betting is also not wholly random. So because of your skills it's possible to win money by gambling in reality.
7783  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you keep a spreadsheet for you wins and losses for tax purposes? on: February 25, 2020, 10:51:11 PM
While ago it just hit me when i won more then usual that in the future if bitcoin goes parabolic, these wins in btc can be huge and i have to tell my banker where i got the money from and i guess i have to keep how much i spend it to make it for tax purposes too.

I was thinking that i need to start to keep a journal/spreadsheet on my wins and losses soon. I've been stalling and avoiding it because i might not like what i see, i don't even know if i am on the plus side anymore. I am not sure how crypto gambling taxes go in here but i thought that it wouldn't hurt to have a record of my transactions in it while i am studying it.

So, i guess my question is that are you keeping a track of your wins and losses and for what purpose are you doing that?
How do you know which tax laws apply to crypto gambling in your country?
It's still very new and I think most of countries don't have specific laws for crypto gambling. So it's the laws for crypto taxation or gambling taxation you should apply?  Huh
7784  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Discussion & Betting] Eurovision Song Contest 2020 on: February 25, 2020, 10:45:58 PM
Surprisingly (to me), Lithuania is now the top favourite for winning the ESC Shocked

As I said before, it's a good song and I like it, but not good enough to win. And Lithuania isn't a country that tends be very successful at ESC. The introduction of a jury voting in combination with the televoting made things fairer, but you still need friendly votes to win and Lithuania is lacking a bit in that department imo. Since 2000 Lithuania has....

.....missed the final 7 out of 18 times (39%)
.....been ranked outside Top10 9 out of 18 times (50%)
.....only two Top10 finishes (11%)

Maybe @LTU_btc could give some insight, If there is some huge hype in Lithuania about this song ?
The song is maybe well appreciated in the eastern countries. We know east european countries have a big weight on the final score with all the points they bring in their bags  Undecided
7785  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How fair is Provably Fair? Do you verify every bet as a gambler? on: February 25, 2020, 10:37:01 PM

Client seed: It can be anything. It is up to player to choose anything as his client seed. For example, I can use 'webtricksClientSeed' as my client seed or 'thisIsMyRandomClientSeed'. However, while choosing client seed make sure three things:
(i) Always choose new seed for new bet (never try same client seed with new server seed).
(ii) Don't choose easily identifiable seeds like I mentioned above (close your eyes and type random numbers and alphabets. I do like this and it works Cheesy).
Could you elaborate on this statement please? Why it's so important to do that?
Do you think the house program will detect you are always using the same seed and will create a losing server seed for it or it has nothing to do with that? Thank you very much to explain me what you mean (or someone else here).

If your preferred gambling website is rigged already, then you will always lose and there is nothing like a losing server seed. New seed opens up your chances on winning more bets with it during a new session 'if you don't consider changing it at every single bet' , but if you start losing all of a sudden then just drop the site and leave because even a new seed will not help and you will lose continuously as the system catches that you are winning and the server seed also has some areas where its provided hash doesn't meet your expected criteria because of your client seed and you start losing all your bets. Even trying with a new seed will only make you win just 3-5 bets and the same story will start repeating itself ahead.
I don't understand how it could work like that except if the seeds are fake ... but you can spot that by checking them after the roll.
The house doesn't know what client seed you will choose/create when it generates its own, so it can't generate a losing roll...  Undecided
7786  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Tradesatoshi is closing down. on: February 25, 2020, 10:21:59 PM
WTF did someone notice the huge transfer fees they are applying?  Huh
For BTC for example, it's

Min. Withdraw: 0.00300000 BTC

Fee: 0.00290000 BTC

I think they will leave with a big amount of cryptos they will dump on other exchanges in few weeks  Embarrassed
Be careful of the crash of many shitcoin markets in the coming weeks IMHO...
This !

7788  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have You Started Gambling Because You Want To Be Part Of A Gambling Campaign on: February 25, 2020, 09:43:54 PM
Been playing gambling wayback before even if im not able to join gambling-based signature campaigns. The good thing if you are advertising gambling companies
is that you do know on what you are posting rather than posting non sense just because you are just forced because of the requirement given.
If you arent familiar with gambling then its better not to join gambling based signature campaigns.
I agree with that, even when a campaign only need few posts in the gambling section I don't think it's a good idea to join it if you don't know what gambling is about and you've never been a real gambler. It hurts the platform and the gambling section. I think BM should be more careful about that.
7789  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About Compulsive gambling. on: February 25, 2020, 09:35:34 PM
There are so many gamblers in this virtual world. Some can still control themselves, and there are also who can not control themselves when they are already in the form of the long table with a full of card any bet of different gamblers, and those are considered as Compulsive gambling.

First things first, compulsive gambling is the uncontrollable eagerness on gambling, even though you keep on losing the game, you forgot to do some valuable things than gambling and forgetting to spend your spare time with your family and in a way that you don't mind how much money you spend and how much money you already to the game.

There are times that whenever your family and your friend advise to you about stopping on gamble, you keep on ignoring them, you do not listen to them anymore even though they care so much to you and when you deny them then you may consider yourself having a compulsive gambling disorder, you don't care anymore to anyone, the only thing you want is gambling.
I suggest that if you feel that you are like that, you may visit some professionals to help you.
I'm not sure it's enough for qualifying someone as a compulsive gambler. Because it's the same for most hobbies, when you like doing something it's a normal thing to spend your spare-time on it. Many people are spending there free time behind the TV or non educating books. I don't think it's better. If you just waste your time but not your money, I don't think you can be considered as a compulsive gambler.

7791  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling a threat or fun? on: February 25, 2020, 09:10:46 PM
This question is always on my mind since then until now. I want to know the opinion of everyone here on this platform. I know that we have all different perception about gambling, so I respect what will be your point of view about that.

But to share my opinion, I consider gambling as a threat to gamblers. Yes, there are a lot of people who find happiness in gambling if and only if they can control their selves from this, but no matter how fun can gambling gives to you, the problem is still there, the addiction on it is always there, it grows day by day. There are so many disadvantages of being so addicted in gambling, one of which is forgetting your priority, spending your time to your family and your friend, you won't be able to more productive things than losing money, to the point that even you already lose and don't have enough money to play, you will make ways, there are times that you will ask a request to your friend to give you money as debt. You should be the one who controls the gamble and don't let the gamble control you.
You're right but not totally in my opinion.
Yes it can be seen as a waste of time, but watching TV isn't a waste of time too? Talking on social medias about random useless topics isn't a waste of time too?
Trading is a kind of gambling but if you always lose money by trading why institutional big money corporates are trading?
7792  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reminder for staking!! on: February 25, 2020, 08:05:58 PM
You can search signatures of members with this tool from lulu.
https://signatures.bitcointalk.luc-mergault.fr/.
How actually works this tool? Is it provide signature information from Stake your bitcoin address here thread?
If so, I have searched mine but did not find any information of mine. Smiley But I have staked my btc address there. That means Is it under construction?
Yes AFAIK it's supposed to parse the thread.
If your signature isn't listed in his database it should be a bug (maybe it's because nobody has yet quoted it idk)
You can report it on his thread

7793  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Flaws in 4G/5G - Interception of calls and messages! on: February 25, 2020, 03:48:05 PM
Thank you for those informations, so it seems better to avoid 2FA by SMS when you hold big amounts of cryptos on a platform. And at least better to avoid to connect 3G/4G/5G networks if you are using it.
7794  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ToS, do you read it before using new platforms? on: February 25, 2020, 03:23:14 PM
Because if you are not careful, you might lose your money, and those platforms have rights to reject your deposit returns when you fraud them, or violate their rules in ToS.
Don't spread this kind of hoax please, by doing that you're making yourself accomplice of scammers.
No, they've not the "right" to confiscate your goods just because you didn't respect their ToS.
When you deposit your cryptos on platforms, you don't sell them or give them for free to the platforms, it's still your property, not the property of platforms. So if they confiscate your cryptos it's a theft.
ToS have to respect the laws of the country of the platform, and I don't think there are many countries in the world where you can seize the goods of your customer just for not having respected a clause of your ToS. So such clauses are unlawful.
Moreover platforms regularly change their ToS without giving notice to customers, so customers are often unaware of the changes in the ToS. No need to mention that crypto platforms generally don't care of their own ToS when a customer ask something from them...
7795  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reminder for staking!! on: February 25, 2020, 02:29:57 PM
Thank you for the reminder.
I remember staking my bitcoin address there but can't find the post. I don't know where I saved the private key for that address too!
I started a similar topic on our local board to raise awareness about the importance of the subject.
Note: after staking your address, someone else should quote your reply.
You can search signatures of members with this tool from lulu.

But I don't find yours, your post should have been deleted.
7796  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Having secondary/multiple accounts purpose is..? on: February 25, 2020, 01:36:54 PM
Some create alt accounts and use it to indicate whether they are in front of their computer, on mobile, or somewhere.

Examples:
Main account: theymos (Alt account: theymos_away)
Main account: LoyceV (Alt account: LoyceMobile)

Are you sure it's not because they are affraid to send their password through an insecure network instead?
I thought it was for this reason. If they only want to show they're currently not in front of their computer they could indicate it in their signature or Personal Text.
7797  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Advice on strange KYC issue - been accidentally logging in from a banned country on: February 25, 2020, 01:17:18 PM
They won't' do it because it is time-consuming. Not to mention they can mention something like 'it is the customer obligation to check our terms of services before doing any business with us'.

I can name a few exchanges which allow account creation and deposits even if you don't do KYC, and then hit you with KYC request later. Turns out they had this on their ToS so they can blame the customer if something terrible happened.

You have nothing to do in this case. Exchange has the right to freeze your funds too. When you are joining in exchanges, you should check everything. I always do that before depositing.
Can you share the exchange name?
I don't like very much this kind of speech here...  Undecided  No, exchanges have not the right to steal your funds, even if it's written in their so-called ToS.
The coins you deposit on them are yours, they are not their property. I don't think there are many countries in the world that allow stealing goods of customers for this kind of reason. So even if it's written in their ToS there are very few chances that's a lawful clause.
Moreover exchanges mostly change their ToS without notifying their customers in advance, if at all...
And last but not least they generally don't even care of them, they don't respect their own written rules.
7798  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Scammers trying to grab people's personal details through email. Be aware of It. on: February 25, 2020, 12:33:41 PM
If you don't deal with cryptos, I don't think there are many risks to give this kind of informations except receiving unsolicited advertisement.

Most phishing attacks aren't targeting crypto users, so it is likely that if you follow and give personal information, they'll use that to plan another attack against you. For example, using your bio or your recent registration on the website to inject malware via script exploit, or attack your social media.

Whether you have crypto or not doesn't really matter when you deal with possible phishing/scam attack. Just report and leave them. Unless you want to write something like "What if you reply to a scam e-mail?".
Ok but why scammers would try to attack you if you don't have cryptos?
Moreover when you buy anything on internet you have to give your name, your address and your phone number, so if it's critical and risky to give them, we can't buy anything on internet...  Undecided
7799  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Scammers trying to grab people's personal details through email. Be aware of It. on: February 25, 2020, 07:38:43 AM
It doesn't seem to be an old school scam because she isn't asking for money. So people have nothing to lose by just "trying". That's how it works I think...  Undecided

Possibly. For the less knowledgeable concerning security and privacy, they might think "it's just some of my personal information anyway, it's not money"; not knowing the risks of giving away such valuable information.
If you don't deal with cryptos, I don't think there are many risks to give this kind of informations except receiving unsolicited advertisement. If you have cryptos you should be more careful because the scammer may already have other information in his possession (ie addresses, exchanges used,...)
7800  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase Legitimacy/Alternate ways of earning crypto on: February 25, 2020, 12:53:12 AM
You should read the post from 1miau about that, you will find some answers to your questions : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5221497.0

If you are already using an exchange where you can buy cryptos with your fiat it's better to stick with it. I don't know what's your budger for cryptos but you should only do those bounties with KYC if you really need money.
