781  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SHLD] ShieldCoin - X15 - PoW/PoS Cryptocurrency on: July 09, 2014, 08:02:30 PM
Price and volume starting to jump on Bittrex.  Just added like 1 hour ago. Hash rates for mining also going through the roof.

Could be signs (specifically from the mining jump) that this will see some action over the next few days. Mining difficulty has tripled in last few hours, meaning much more difficult to be awarded coins.

Time will tell but I'm getting some.

This have to be the lamest fud attempt ever ..
The very first post link to Isis .. the egyptian goddess before that news about the bitcoin isis stuff even happened  Roll Eyes

You mean before Coindesk did the story?  Perhaps...

I do however believe ISIS the organization existed before the story.

Lastly. See this:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isis_(disambiguation)

Anyone who googles "ISIS" would come up and find this Wikipedia article, which does in fact say:

Isis was a goddess in ancient Egyptian religion.

ISIS commonly refers to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, a militant Jihadist organization active in Iraq and Syria.

Isis or ISIS may also refer to:.....

Anyways, the person who named the coin likely saw this - and was fine with it.

And seriously folks stop using this term "FUD" it sounds ridiculous. Way overused. Like a song that just won't die.

Isis as in the Egyptian goddess or ISIS as in the Islamic State terrorist organisation?  Shocked

I think many are wondering that actually.  ISIS - ISLAMIC STATE OF IRAQ AND SYRIA

Big article on Coindesk about how ISIS is now using Bitcoin to fund terrorist operations....

http://goo.gl/bHVjJs     <---- Article on Coindesk

Great coin. Great great coin guys. Good job picking the name. Clever.

Going to go far.  Just google Bitcoin and ISIS (Terrorist Group) is the #1 News Return.

784  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC][OFFICIAL] PoS/Privacy on: July 06, 2014, 07:42:12 AM
XC is going to fall hard. Way overinflated - there are no buy orders (perhaps $25,000-$30,000 worth of actual real buy orders). There are 5.5 million coins. I'd say anyone holding more than a 100000 XC would have a near impossible time selling them at anywhere near these prices.

Again there a millions XC in circulation.

Strato

How many BTC are in circulation? LTC?

STFU.

You make it sound like there is 50 million out there... when in fact I believe reality outside of troll world there is under 6 mil XC.

My post specified the exact number of coins. 5.5 Million.

All I was arguing is that if anyone decided to "try" to sell a decent amount they couldn't.

Here's fact:  You couldn't sell 200,000 coins if you tried. Its out of the order book, meaning price goes to zero. And that's only 3.5% of the the coins in circulation.

Lastly, the above wouldn't happen. Just saying it's thin. A 1% Sell Off crashes the price 25%.  Use the trade estimator on https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/mintpal/xcbtc

Good experiences all around with Betarigs.com

Support takes about 12-24 hours but they respond and are helpful.

Never had any major issues and all small ones were resolved.

787  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BETARIGS.COM - Cryptocurrency cloud mining - thousands of rigs available! on: July 03, 2014, 07:16:49 PM
Also, I'll add that if you have small rigs, say under 25mhash on X11, definitely consider longer minimum rentals. Rentals that cost under .02 BTC would be, in my opinion, easy targets for trolls / people looking to earn free hash or tarnish honest rig owners' reputation.

Personally I haven't had any of the issues listed above in regards to negative feedback on my rigs. My personal policy, and perhaps this may help some, is if there is lower hash/downward spikes that really devalue the customer's rental to simply credit a fair amount of time to the renter. Secondly, the minimum rental period is usually 1 day, sometimes I allow 12 hours if the market is weak.  I also always give at least 1 freebie hour to all 2 day rentals. I factor these give away hours into what I price my rigs at. This way I end up getting the price I am looking for and the customer gets more than they paid for. A good deal for all parties.

The rigs in general take about 30 minutes to really get up to full hash, so in my opinion a 3 hour rental shouldn't be used or offered because 1/6th of that is going to show poor returns on most setups. That's basically 15%. On a 1 day rental, 30 minutes at the front end while the rig is winding up to speed on the renters pool really isn't noticed, and if they do ask/complain crediting 30 minutes or even 1 hour on a 24 or 48 hour rental is only a 2-4% loss on my side which I look at as a cost of doing business. Factoring 2-4% loss on 1 out of 3 rentals is really only a .75-1.25% margin for lost time.

I rent out about 200mhash worth of X11/13 on a few rigs, and I've never incurred a major complaint nor a no pay customer.

Hope this helps, as I view BetaRigs as a great service, both for when I want to rent out and for when I want to rent some hash myself.

Was watching this name at GD auction. Great name; good luck with sale.

Thanks.  I'm on the development team for 2 other coins at the moment. I don't think I am going to find the time to develop this one out as well, which is why I'm selling.  It was on our "it list".

Dubai is exploding... Hopefully someone can take it and run with it. Huge market - it's turning into the new Silicon Valley Wink

792  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner & ccMiner CUDA based mining applications [Windows/Linux/MacOSX] on: July 02, 2014, 02:09:17 AM
Do any of the cuda miners available now have the ability to mine X11, X13, or X15 with the lower compute cards, like the GTX 570?

Just curious if I missed something.

Thanks,

Help!!!
Anyone have a 3 modified INF for the 14.6 RC2 yet for 5+ GPUs  Huh

Curious if this has been solved. Anyway to get more than 4 GPUs running on Win 8.1 with 14.6?

Thanks,

794  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: In Memoriam GPU Thread - A lasting place for your GPU rigs - RIP on: July 02, 2014, 01:53:18 AM
Personally I have access to large amounts of free AC. Roughly 300 Amps so 35,000 watts in addition to what I'm not using. If anyone is interested in selling rigs, preferably 280x (that's what I use in my farm) I'd be open to receiving offers.

My Free AC deal is locked in through next July. Lastly, it's completely legal if there are any concerns. My business took over a company that went bankrupt and part of the settlement included AC for the remainder of the lease.

I'd be interested in cards, but preferably turnkey rigs. OS not necessary.

If power wasn't a concern would GPU mining really be dead?  GPUs are still the only way to mine X11, X13 and X15, among others.
796  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / If you had access to unlimited free power (AC)... Best Answer Wins .01 BTC! on: July 02, 2014, 12:21:48 AM
If you had access to unlimited free power (AC), what kind of mining setup would you build. (Provided you were planning on dropping serious cash on a setup).

280X Farm?
750ti Farm? (Less hash but better on power)
ASICs?

Again, if power was NOT a cost consideration, looking to the future... Thoughts?

Best Answer Wins .01 BTC Smiley Grin. Closes Tomorrow 8PM EST.

Looks like all the pools are having issues.  Dedicated has warnings on it's site saying no coins will show, no coins can be withdrawn until issues fixed.

Is there even any point mining the first 30 minutes considering there is zero reward?
