My players Chelsea are not solid yet so they are not sure they will have a great attack yes even though it is a possibility but I think Tottenham's defense will not be so weak because they have to prepare that Chelsea have the type of some great players but in reality it is still not convincing right now. Still I won't take Chelsea out of the books or even Spurs.

I don't know if Chelsea will suffer another slump or have a good win to beat Spurs, but I expect it won't be easy for Potter and his team, they have to build an even greater team.

Leicester shattered Spurs defense 1-2 weeks ago and their defense had no clue at all. If Chelsea were to play like Leicester that day then it will be similar outcome.  It's not that easy also, both teams know how important the match is so both teams defenses will be on alert.

About Chelsea then can find chances like I said earlier but they need to find the net in those chances.

In terms of performance and team confidence, I think Chelsea are the worse ones than Tottenham. Chelsea have been very close to failing this season in all competitions, including the Premier League and Champions League. Tottenham is much more to be expected even if they are not very consistent about their form so it is good to place the bet on Tottenham instead of Chelsea in my opinion. Also because playing at home, Tottenham must be considered as a safe betting option later.

Chelsea have some good wingers and I can see they are trying to make some great plays. If Spurs defence line are not  much aware and Chelsea attacks are sharp then I think Chelsea might get some goals in the fixture. I wouldn't undermine Chelsea here. Both teams are performing poorly so that's why I can't pick a winner.

BTW this fixture reminds me of that dramatic events in last fixture. Tuchel-Conte handshake... Roll Eyes
It just won't happen again.  Grin

Yeah, I know  Grin. Conte is in hospital while Tuchel, well he is not with Chelsea anymore.

Do you think Chelsea will invest in another player or will they try to secure their best players before they start following Mason Mount and asking for a transfer because of the recent decline of Chelsea?

Kante has been instrumental for Chelsea but that was 1-2 years ago. Now with injury a club has to look out for options. First thing is that they can't keep a player who gets injured easily when they are playing at a stage where they have to play CL, PL and other cup games and everything is crucial for them.  So it's usually coach and board's call and how they see it. Right now they have lot of players in Kante's position so they might be thinking of dropping a few. I don't think they will try to get midfielders now if they think Kante is important. If they make a big move for defensive midfielder then I think there is no future for Kante then. He will be losing lot of his game time and has to part his ways with the club eventually.

About Mount's future, he is a good attacking midfielder and can adapt to lot of positions but right now Potter has many options so I don't think he is getting considered for the regular lineup. During the time of Tuchel, Tuchel used two attacking midfielders but Potter uses wingers instead of midfielders so there is no chance of pure attacking midfielders to find a role in Potter's formation unless they are good at certain roles. So unless Potter changes his tactic a bit and try incuding an attacking midfielder, I don't see Mount getting chances as he would want. Now Chelsea board has put their trust on Potter for a long term so let's see how long Mount handles this situation. Likely scenario is that he might leave.

I think the biggest game of the week is going to be Tottenham - Chelsea.

In fact none of these teams are even close to a title race right now. Chelsea are in a much worse condition than their competitor also. But in the end this is a big game for both sides anyway. Tottenham are of course the favoured side for getting the win. However bookmakers don't expect this game to be comfortable for them also. The odds are pretty close to each other. Honestly Chelsea are a big mess right now. They are terrible not only in this league but also they got a bad result against Dortmund.

Tottenham are fighting for keeping their presence in top 4 now. They would like to benefit from Chelsea's weaknesses. I think both teams will score and Tottenham will win by a slight margin also.

Yeah both clubs are in mess right now. Chelsea haven't been in best but Spurs are also have been performing poorly. Spurs have been struggling to score which is a big sign to worry about. Chelsea are able to find some good chances but aren't able to capitalise on that. I would say it's a tough game to pick a winner and since both teams are struggling to score, picking under 2.5 goals should be a good selection to bet on.

BTW this fixture reminds me of that dramatic events in last fixture. Tuchel-Conte handshake... Roll Eyes

I think the same. Manchester City has been playing really well and I think they will be able to make it through this one too.
Many people are supporting Manchester City this time which can be clearly seen in the odds as well.

City always puts a dominant display but recently they have been below those standards in my opinion. They played well against Arsenal but were back to it again with Forest game draw. City will be hoping to be on track again with and should win the game against Bournemouth easily but they have the CL game also today and lot of players will be tired after playing two games in a week so Bournemouth might have a chance if they play well. Also De Bruyne and Laporte are reported to be missing the CL game today due to illness and who knows they will be missing out the weekend's game also. So, City are favourites-yes, but usually weeks where they have to play two games are the ones where they most likely face surprises.

If Barcelona manages to win its game against Cadiz tonight, the lead over Real Madrid is 8 points. Really a lot if you compare it to what happened in the last seasons. Barcelona is actually having a wonderful season at the moment if you look at how everything has developed. It seems like all players now know much better what their role in the team is, something that was often lacking in the past. Since the arrival of Xavi, everything has gone very fast. The EL will still be quite a challenge to win at United, but they have built in a lot of margin in the competition by now.
If we look at the abilities of the two clubs, of course Barcelona has a big chance to win the game. And the difference of 8 goals with Madrid, of course Madrid needs extra struggle going forward. In 21 matches, Barcelona only lost once. That is, no club has been able to beat Barcelona this season apart from Real Madrid. So that the opportunity for Barcelona to continue to be at the top of the standings is wide open. I hope that another club can beat Barcelona, be it Valencia or something else. So that the El Clasico match will be even more interesting to watch.

The way Barca are going it is making things hard for Real Madrid to overtake them on the table. For Barcelona, its just to maintain their consistent performance and avoid dropping points from here on while for Madrid they have to maintain consistency as well as hope that Barca lose 8 points somewhere in the remaining gameweeks. Things seems pretty hard but anything can happen but the way Barca has performed so far, things seem pretty hard for Madrid.

Normally, there is more chances of dropping points where the weeks where they have to play mid-weeks fixtures or Europa games and then have to play the weekend games but its same for Madrid also. So let's see what happens. If Madrid makes a comeback it will be a nice one for them and a confidence booster for the future too.

So far, its just been Rashford seeing the team through with B. Fernández working his best and u must say, the Manchester United defence line in the likes of L. Shaw has been doing some great job too.
When I watched Weghorst in the world cup, especially in the game against Argentina, I had a lot of expectation from Weghorst and his not exactly delivering that for me. He needs to get the scoring going too but, he's not and seems to be playing deeper and deeper in a defensive midfield position with Rashford pushing forward. Maybe that's the game plan all along but, the goals aren't forth coming on his part.

Tottenham is having there go with West Ham United and Spurs are already leading by a goal in the second half.

I think its not same just because he play as a striker or he plays as a midfielder. There are lot of roles we don't know but manager does assign them in order to win games. It's working for them and that's why Weghorst has started every game (as I know of) for United since his arrival otherwise ten Haag would have tried experimenting with other players. So far its working for them and hope it continues for them.
789  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 19, 2023, 05:34:30 PM
Rashford is not easy to replace when he is on form he is a world class attacker and I do not think they can buy any one in the transfer window that would be willing to sit on the bench hoping that Rashford gets injured. He is a little injury prone and that is a problem but when the team performs and he is playing he scores them goals. I think the last couple of seasons of bad form was because Ronaldo was stealing all the glory and Rashford struggled with that. De Gea would be my man of the match because he saved us from conceding multiple goals early and I am not sure we would have recovered from that.

I never said about that they need a replacement but what I am saying is other also needs to join in on scoring for example Weghorst  or other wingers although I think they are playing great given what ten Haag has set roles for them. But I feel that they should be ready for the worst case scenarios.

As for now great bonding and great teamplay  and like I earlier said they deserve to be where they are at on the table.
790  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 19, 2023, 04:42:31 PM
I saw Manchester United playing very good football, fast transitions, accurate passing and accurate finishing. And Marcus Rashford is a very good option for Manchester United because he always scores goals, and Marcus Rashford continues to be prolific in scoring and his 2 goals against Leicester City make it his 24rd goal in all competitions this season.
currently Manchester United is ranked 3rd in the standings which is only 3 points away from Manchester City, and Macnhester City's draw against Nottingham Forest is a big mistake because it will make them a little away from Arsenal and approached by Manchester Unuted.

Yeah very good game from United. They deserve to be where they are at on the table right now. Great game, great visions and great pressure from time to time inside the game. In Europa game, they also played better than Barca but result didn't came out to be what they wanted but hey that's football. Rashford is doing wonders for them right now but I think they need someone else to score also for in the worst case scenario like if Rashford gets injured they need a goalscorer then who can charge in the box liek Rashford does.

It was really dissapointing result from Bayern that surprisingly they lose from Mönchengladbach and apparently Upamecano red card were makes them cannot develop their game because based on match statistics Mönchengladbach playing more agressive than them

I would say Upamecano's red card was a bit harsh and that gifted Gladbach the win today. After the red card, Bayern's defense were cluless on handling situations and Gladbach got the most out of it today. I think it should have been a yellow card but then again I am not a refree. That was a crucial match  for Bayern and now with the loss they have given Union Berlin to overtake them to the 1st spot on the table.

Except Arsenal everything went not like predicted in the betting of the Premier League games,Chelsea lost,Brentford draw,Wolves lost at home and the biggest of all surprises, the one that ruined all my tickets because I thought Manchester City would have an easy win against Nottingham Forest today yet they screw it big time despite dominating the game totally.

Yeah the same thing came in my mind as well. Also Arsenal game also could have been surprise if it hadn't been for the Jorginho shot. Luck just opened arms wide for us in the end  Cheesy Cheesy

I think it was my error to go and link the City game in every bet I made but I still cannot believe that they could not win against one of the weakest teams of the Premier League this season, they lost for some consecutive times the golden opportunity to catch Arsenal and the number of games to the end shrinks so less chances for them.

City have been horrible and Nottingham have been playing their games well recently. They have been able to keep their nets clean ever since Keylor Navas came in. I would say Nottingham might perform better from here on now. Might drop a few but they are capable of little surprises now. Also City have been horrible for some weeks now. They don't have the productivity they started with in this season.

Honestly i would like to see Firmino playing a litle longer with Liverpool and hoping Liverpool immediately to extended his contract and last time i heard Liverpool will giving their priority to discuss about this but i don't know why after long process negotiations appear to have reached an impasse but indeed after the arrival of Gakpo and Nunez his chances to being an regular player is quite small and lets be realistic that if he want to play for every matches i think Liverpool isn't right place anymore for him

I think I saw a strong source on twitter indicating that Liverpool are gonna held talks about Firmino's contract extension very soon. And also Klopp has said in the past that he would love to see Firmino continue. Feeling is clear and it's upto Firmino where he wants to see in next. I don't think Liverpool will allow an experienced player like Firmino leave especially when he is the most experienced in the position he plays.

Man City is clearly to blame for this draw. They had a lead plus some brutal chances and they got punished for not taking them. Haaland missed such a big chance that i would think about this match for a long time, plus Foden didnt pass to him and slipped that could have gotten in aswell. Deserved draw for Forrest

Games are getting difficult and I can see City are also losing their touch. Forrest did well out there and yeah a well deserved point for Forrest. City played great in their previous game but today they were very far below their usually quality. Well it worked out well for us as we again some gap back on the table.
795  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 17, 2023, 06:48:48 PM
It seems that Chelsea will get rid of some players that are not needed but they will increase the budget allocation for summer transfers regardless of what is rumored about Neymar to Chelsea it is still very possible because they have several star players at the club but I'm not sure if Neymar will be a good starter for Chelsea because he is getting old at 31 years old.

He is skillful so he can make lot of attacking plays which Chelsea needs right now. Also he draws a lot of fouls so that can give lot of spot kicks for Chelsea so even despite the age I think he still can be lot useful.

But for me right now the Chelsea squad is enough with the existing squad.

I think they still need a good signing in defence to help Thiago Silva who is right now taking tough defensive decisions into his own hands. Apart from that I also think they have got everything covered.
796  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 17, 2023, 06:25:22 PM

It's really unfortunate when Arsenal have to achieve negative results in 3 matches so that makes them have the same number of points as Manchester city. Even though they still have 1 game more than Manchester City, but mentally now I can say that Manchester City has more big morality than Arsenal. Now the only option is they have to keep winning every game, if they still want to be in that position, if they miss even one game then it will be detrimental for them.
I'm sure they had that mission before, to win every game, they shouldn't have expected City to just give up and let them dominate the Premier League. And I can't say that Arsenal have some kind of recession, they are playing well, I think that tomorrow they will beat Aston Villa and start to regain their former confidence. In addition, City is also not perfect this season, they periodically lose points, but the more interesting the intrigue remains.

There is still a long way to go and who knows maybe City drops more points and Arsenal are consistent or maybe Arsenal do drop the title this season but the main thing is Arsenal has got a great squad and as a fan I am happy that things are going the right direction. It's a bummer that we lost the game after dominating the first half but I believe in the squad and we have good competition till the the end for the title.
797  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 17, 2023, 05:25:49 PM
From what I see Chelsea is going to be the next PSG and they are going to have more stars soon like Neymar because of the money they spend also Potter will have hard days soon because the stars will join the team because managing players will be even harder if you consider that. But generally, I think Chelsea should start investing in younger players like Jude Bellingham who can join the team from Dortmund at 19y old. Next season Chelsea is going to have a strong squad.

Yeah it does becomes hard but I think they are gonna offload some players starting with Aubameyang. I think likely by the next window they will have clear idea of players that they want to offload from the squad. Bellingham would make the mod really strong. They already have Enzo and adding Bellingham to that will really add a strong mid which will be very tough to break. Still not sure if they will be strong next season so let's see about it on how they plan things ahead. As of now they need to build the team chemistry and I think Potter is experimenting a lot trying to find that for which time is very necessary.
798  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 17, 2023, 03:55:39 PM
Rumors regarding the departure of Neymar with PSG next summer, are increasingly widespread and become hot rumors. plus, the dispute with Mbappe has re-emerged in sports media coverage. we will no longer be surprised by what is happening within the PSG team. So, I'm happy if Neymar really leaves PSG. at least, he can still have a career at other big clubs instead of staying with PSG. because after all, Neymar is a versatile player, he can be placed as ST, LW, even AM.

After this thing, I think he has come up and said that he still will play for PSG with his hearts out so even though whatever happened I think it's gonna sort out after a while. Although I also want to see him at big club but at the end PSG will try to convince their star player like they did with Mbappe.

Apart from all that, it's no wonder that the owner of the Chelsea club is willing to pay for the player he wants. including, to sign Neymar in the next summer transfer window. it's just that, I don't really understand what Todd Boehly wants. so do not be surprised, if gradually Potter will be removed by Todd Boehly from the Chelsea coaching chair.

Chelsea has deep pockets so at the moment anything where there is something of unrest going between a star player and a club they will definitely try to target them. Chelsea wants to build a strong squad and that obviously takes time. Yes Potter is giving not a strong result but they have confidence in them. I think they will give him time till the next season.

However, in the Barcelona vs United match, neither team managed to score in the first half. Barcelona scored early in the second half in the 50th minute and conceded a goal just two minutes later. The match is now tied at 1-1. Let's enjoy the match.

United are leading 2-1 as of now in the 69th minute. But so far United have been a real threat as they have better chances and taking shots frequently. Barca are having good possession and passing but are unable to create anything promising. I hardly think Barca are gonna comeback right now with the way United are defending.
800  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 16, 2023, 07:11:19 PM
It seems that Manchester United in the next match in premier league will have a quite troublesome opponent, namely Leicester City. as we know that Leicester city has been able to beat tottenham with a pretty fantastic score of 4-1. so Manchester United seems to have to be more vigilant in this match. but even so I believe Manchester United will be able to get full points back.

ah I almost forgot that today MU also has a match against Barcelona in the europa league. and for sure this fight will be very interesting.

While Leicester City is a formidable opponent for Manchester United, having scored and won Tottenham 4 goals to 1, I still believe in Manchester United as they’ve been in incredible form as of late. They do have to be vigilant as Leicester City is a tough opponent and not a walk in the park either. I believe Ten Hag would figure out the best tactics and maneuvers for the boys to get ahead.

Manchester United game against Barcelona in the Europa League would be a test of Manchester United’s form. They would need to put in their best in this game. It would be surely an interesting one.

Spurs have been conceding lot of goals lately and have been kinda poor but United are different and they have been defending goals well so I think Leicester will have tough time finding an opening. Last game was Spurs total howler and Leicester punished them for it. I don't think ten Haag and his men will be doing the same mistake again.

In Europa league, they have been playing better than Barcelona so far and has 1 goal advantage as of now. United have improved a lot but there is still lot to improve.
