It's definitely interesting watching the feedback roll in.

Thank you all for your ideas and motivation, the team has far from lost interest, you guys have to realize every day can't be an incline with catalysts exploding forever and ever (and as much as we love this project, we do have real lives, wives, other biz, weekends and commitments to juggle).

The exchange is not going to be complete for at least a few months and I've said this many times already.

We can't force Cryptsy, it will happen when it happens, his twitter hasn't been updated in a while, no coins have been added yet.

People are playing with the price on the small exchanges easily because 90% are small traders and these guys are stacking up on coins/keeping prices low (otherwise you'd just see them clear the book, why mess around for a few extra btc for days on end vs just cashout and build profit elsewhere..).

I'll admit we're sort of 'stuck' for now as we are in limbo with Cryptsy, and some of the dev relies on us being there with aps/next catalysts, and we're competing with a HUGE influx of new coins and will continue to for a while. Our moves will indeed be catalysts, and some won't be announced they will just 'happen' naturally, those that are still there when they do will be rewarded. You guys want to offload your eac I can't/won't stop you as the industry is currently getting diluted like crazy and you might 'make more short term' elsewhere. This just goes to show though that you're here for quick profits, and if it starts to skyrocket you might have sold anyway.

PS: Happy Monday, hope you guys enjoyed your weekend, I was stuck here for most of it, caught a bit of a cold, am grumpy today because of it - still smiling though and still confident, hopefully you guys will see some cool moves in the market and from the team today now that it's back to bizweek.

Seems we're getting close to one of the aps being finished Smiley

Not the android wallet (need to wait on cryptsy), but something else - don't wanna spoil it as the vendor worked hard on it and will probably want to post this all himself..

Thanks for the updates from all pools.

Now let's please give it a rest and get back to our project - no posts from pool owners until we get to 200 pages please. Some of you guys are indeed overdoing it now. Do not respond apologizing or explaining more just to post again.

Thank you.

Hey OP.

Please refrain from doing stuff like this, you're just drawing a bad buzz we don't need the extra hype things are going fine.

Thanks, and sorry community, ppl are excited..

^ Indeed, fill me in - what reasons are there for ddos'ing the pools other than the obvious (is it just to give one farm/person advantage or are there many reasons to do it?).
786  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coin Payments Coin Vote on: January 05, 2014, 01:36:49 PM
We would love to be listed within your system (EarthCoin), in fact I'd like to make SURE we're listed in there among any others you may list from this thread. Feel free to reach out if you need anything from us, earthcoin is here to stay and currently doing our merchant recruitment/commerce outreach/etc. so timing is good and we're a good fit re transaction speeds and confidence in our branding.
787  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN - NEW COIN JUST LAUNCHED] *EarthCoin* Is Here To Make A Splash For 2014! on: January 05, 2014, 01:27:08 PM
Need to bump this - important.

Hi guys.

IMPORTANT

** The MAC wallet is not working for osx/older users - we had someone put together that first mac wallet that was the other way around. We need it - as a backup, can the person that made it please PM me or can you guys please dig up that link? (bounty will still go to the original compiler).

BIG IDEAS

** Our tasks are plentiful and our priority right now is to get merchants. We've been passing great ideas around internally but they all lead down roads and tasks we won't be able to do internally. Going around emailing merchants one by one trying to recruit them isn't something that I feel is productive for the core team as we have other things that are sensitive and this is an ongoing need.

So.

I'm considering < CONSIDERING, putting up a 500K to 1M bounty for someone to head our merchant recruitment/automation division (I'm trying to make it sound all important re a role/title lol).

I've noticed: http://www.bitcoinfood.com/business-directory/ and think this would be the smartest way to go, automate as much as possible, incentivize merchants to sign up, and then on top of the 500K-1M eac, we can do a revshare on the adzones/other ways we'll monetize the site 50/50 so you'll want to grow it and stick around long term and actively recruit as many merchants as possible (we'll help). Getting a directory script on a domain.com and hosting it is easy - don't just go do it and show us - we'll need a real PR person that will WANT to grow this from every angle not just build it and take the bounty (the bounty will come in 4 stages as checkpoints to avoid a grabnrun).

I've also noticed other coins developing in-house splash pages/small networks of sites and or quick items for sale on subdomains just for the purpose of getting a few 'accepted here' buttons to be displayed. That's a lot of work even if they are digital products/monthly memberships/etc. but if you have the skills to do both that would be great.

Other ideas are welcome, onwards and upwards!

Thank you.

Just got this PM:

Hi!
I registered a Coinedup account today,and I deposited 0.46 Btc.
I want to buy some EAC with BTC,but I can't place order.I tried several times but all failure.
Why?
-----------

Anybody care to help? no clue re what/why it wouldn't work...

he might have firefox and "no script"... or a similar plugin blocking a script the site needs

from the PM'er: For anyone else having this prob:
--------------------
Thanks
I saw many replies in the thread, and their proposal is to change the browser.
I have changed the browser,so the problem is solved.

Thank you!

This is just something I'm personally putting up to compare or give you guys comparison to:

I've had a real love/hate relationship as many of you probably have had with C, however it doesn't take away from the fact that sans the bugs and growing pains they did a lot 'right'.

Do many of you also have 1000+ trades under you and tons of cryptsy points coming in daily?

In order of engine quality, liquidity, volume trades, etc. I still think it's GOX>BTC-e>Cryptsy>randomrest - re a great first user experience for someone that enjoys daytrading on a good platform with a big port (all have speedbumps/growing pains/etc. but that first user experience is important. I've been on a dozen or so now intimately, none have got it perfect yet and I doubt they will for a while as this niche continues to explode).

I just logged in and did a little review of my account, and was kinda surprised by the data so decided to share.

I'd be curious to know how many of you would sell if we suddenly reach 3x value in a few days?

What about 10x?
792  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN - NEW COIN JUST LAUNCHED] *EarthCoin* Is Here To Make A Splash For 2014! on: January 04, 2014, 11:02:17 PM
There is nothing fake about the screenshot mate, I took it myself, I blurred out important info myself, that's his original picture and that's the same pic he uses on his twitter stuff, nothing was altered, pasted, removed, replaced. Contact Paul yourself and ask him to quantify it Smiley.
It's not really important. But I am curious why the blur of the text to the right of the picture suddenly stops (it should be a ellipse/circle but it is cut on the left side, next to the picture). Just to satisfy my curiosity...

In photoshop you simply draw a shape/box/whatever around whatever area you want and give it a guassian blur in order to blur it. There's also 101 other treatments/sequences to achieve the same but that's what I did, there's no 'fade edges' on this blur it just blurs right to the edge of my marquee selection which was a bunch of rectangles not circles.

EDIT: No offense taken and glad to satisfy your curiosity, if you had doubts then others might as well, so it's good for all to understand.
793  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN - NEW COIN JUST LAUNCHED] *EarthCoin* Is Here To Make A Splash For 2014! on: January 04, 2014, 10:55:24 PM

Then explain the blur pattern just to the right of Vern's photo...

You guys are unbelievable.. First of all, if would someone want to fake it, then he doesn't have to photoshop a stupid skype screenshot. You can simple make
new skype account with same picture and name. And why to hell does it even matter, we will see in few days if it goes on cryptsy or not.
Sorry, but you're really ridiculous with cryptsy and this conspiracy things.

+1

The blur is from the poster smudging info he want to keep private, what do you think it signifies?
I mean that the blur suddenly cuts off at the right edge of the photo, and therefore looks like the screenshot was first blurred and then the photo was copied there afterwards. If your on a laptop try to tilt the screen backwards a bit, you will see it clearer.
Don't get me wrong I am invested in this coin and have all interest for it to succeed, but I just find it weird how that looks.

what I'm gonna say is not about this case here... it's a general advice for people who are drawn to this kind of conclusions:

a) how much work would it be if it was fake and made not to look "suspicious"?

I recon less than blurring parts of the picture. just make a screenshot of only the text and simply state it's Vern, or copy parte the picture ontop of another picture without blurring anything....

b) this is not a thing that's far in the future anyway. why make a claim that will be proven false next week? makes no sense

c) motive alone proves nothing. that is the go-to "proof" of conspiracy theorists. make up some motive, even if it's a bat shit crazy one, like "Bush wanted war, so he blew up the twin towers"

motive is often nothing than your own projections onto a subject.
e.g. people who already subconsciously sympathize with Muslim extremists anyway cause they hate the Jews, project a convenient "motive" onto someone else, who not only takes away a feeling of guilt, but also takes the blame and reinforces their own beliefs

it's a circular way of thinking that can not be proven wrong OR right in the mind of the believer. and that's what makes it so dangerous. it locks you into a state of mind that limits your capability of doubting your own beliefs

think about that... just some general advice to the "cui bono" crowd

I didn't say there is any motive. I'm just saying it's really weird. The only plausible explanation I can come up with is they wanted to not show his real Skype picture. This doesn't really affect my view of EAC though, at least not yet.

It's on a few exchanges, funny scenario:

Coinex needs only a tiny amount of btc to pump it - another market maker notices it's flying on coinex, and checks coinedup, and buys this guys fake walls in one shot. Don't be surprised to start seeing this kind of stuff as we attract some of the bigger players once we hit bigger exchanges.
795  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN - NEW COIN JUST LAUNCHED] *EarthCoin* Is Here To Make A Splash For 2014! on: January 04, 2014, 10:30:15 PM
someone just put a 5.9 million sell order on coined up at 450 satoshi....

can anyone be more obvious?

Yes, i see it

and right after we broke through the downtrend.... how curious...  Roll Eyes

A welcome from the pre-miners at the exchange?

I've actually traded on real (stock) markets. I've traded pennystocks as well. I've actually done this myself. it's such a common tactic that only works on very low volume markets.

put up a huge order that can not be filled by the current volume and force people who need to/want to sell to underbid you.

this creates falling prices, and make people who are not even online, but put automatic sell orders in place if prices drop to XXX to sell their shares, creating more pressure downwards. all the while you sold little or nothing yourself.

then when it does not go down any more, you sack in shares and voila! win...

and that's not a wild theory. that's what drives these markets.

once volume is high enough this will be too risky... people might actually buy the whole block, like someone did yesterday to one who had done this for hours with a 400-500k block. he bought the whole block at 250 or so...

if the preminers wanted to sell, really sell, they'd put up small orders that do not look conspicuous and that will actually be sold and NOT underbid

You guys want to study good fear/greed tactics, stare at the btc-e books and refresh a lot or look at the deep books of bitcoin.clarkmoody.com and you'll start to see how market makers work. I refer to those two as the liquidity is there to do it well with a lot of people/fast results (sometimes they work in groups or one guy+many machines/accounts building up 5+ fake walls on both sides cornering pricing to their differential of choice and moving whatever direction they want).

This is a textbook fakeout, and to those that know the game, it's a good look for overall big picture (a market maker believes it's going to rise, and pushes people into his low buy orders, big sell wall, small buys descending).

I don't usually bump but it was at the bottom of the last page I don't want people to miss this..

EDIT: and as a sidenote, I still can't believe how thin these walls are at the two exchanges - 100BTC can make us moon many folds. This is good.

Hi guys.

Thanks for dedicating two pages to the my screenshot Smiley Feel free to contact Paul yourselves (those that know him) and check on me. I blurred stuff out to protect info as is standard but I forgot to blurr something so I removed it then re-uploaded, then totally removed it as the message was out. I guess it got cached or someone saved it locally and re-uploaded it. Would be quite silly to impersonate a convo like that and do us more damage than good.

I'm not going to keep bugging Paul to add us, it's unprofessional and I have his word that it's going up in the near once they can add it/finish other tasks.

Was interesting watching the x2 day and seeing everyone kinda freak out. I know it's going to be a bumpy ride but if you can be strong and just hold/almost forget you own it/don't watch charts all day every day, you're going to be rewarded downstream.
