Are people ASIC mining this already? the difficulty has gone up so much that it's not even profitable for gpu miners anymore, doesnt make sense.
There are no asics for this algorithm, and though the pool difficulty jumps up and down a bit, it's been doing that from the get-go, and seems to be doing an overall steady climb. it looks weird if you don't keep an eye on it, because it can go up and down 100 difficulty pretty quickly

For the logo I imagine something more like this :
With the D as it appears on the coin, forming a question mark.
This one is quite ambiguous! At first I saw P not an exclamation mark. (Question mark) Better ? ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FudCT181.png&t=663&c=KQdCREbTAtlM6g) Then again I'm not a designer. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) yes, but I'd also get rid of the cross-hatch, make it clear and simple. maybe the black is too much? I don't know? You know, I can see this concept working in a circle like icoin. Simple ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Ffaucet.impy.me%2FContent%2Flogo.png&t=663&c=HRAKFP5KN3PcGA)

Great concept, but it ends up looking like a P. And a little bit too busy... it's hard to get a logo just right! Ugh!

If you read the posts in question, you will find that the above logo is not a serious submission, but a suggested conceptual direction. Even in that respect, it may still have little merit.
However, the current DarkCoin logo is not acceptable for the long-term. It does nothing to express the key feature of the coin, privacy. In fact, since it is a fairly standard (though cool) design, it does nothing to impede the unacquainted from the standard connotation: darkness signifies the illicit.
That suggestion has 0 merit. "We need something that expresses the benefits of this coin, let's put a D in some swirly lines ahhhh yeahhhhh." That was a bit mean, I put out some true crap on http://www.darkcointalk.org for fun myself. he's right though, we need a real, easy to recognize logo, and that's all he's saying (and trying to express what a 'logo' is like)

Thank you, I'm bumping this because I don't have much time here, can't look at the moment, but hopefully someone will!!!

Yes, we know and are working on it. There is a bounty that was put up for that site, where you can have artists submit suggestions. I forgot the name, but LimLims is on it ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) And there are some dang good suggestions at the darkcointalk.org site right now, wish they were suggesting 3 weeks ago!!! LOL

Where can I buy Dark? Which exchanges?
crytpsy, mintpal, c-cex etc Man, I wish there was a fiat exchange so DRK could float against the euro and dollar instead of rising and falling (in relative value) with BTC... Please: https://c-cex.com/index.html?p=drk-usdNice, what are the options to deposit $ ? (I'm not in US) Check out https://moolah.io/

Yes it's an interesting design, but it looks like a lot of work for what will end up being a throw away address if the coin is ever retrieved (you should never save a paper wallet address for reuse) and you don't seem to link to where it can be made 'cause it would be cool to go through the trouble if you're giving away the wallet as a gift ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

downloaded new wallet but coins from xcoin wallet didn't automatically go in new wallet so I sent the coins from one to the other but now neither wallet has them and yes the address is correct
Did you back-up your wallet.bat file before starting? Did you clear out your AppData/roaming/darkcoin file (assuming windows) Did you put your wallet.dat back in the above file after starting new qt and closing it down? What exactly did you do, so we can figure it out? it sounds to me like your wallet.dat is wrong

A few all-around "optimizations": First post: (additions/alterations) 1) DarkSend progress report (V5) 2) The new block explorer 3) Change of description for 1.2c / SSE2 miner (the link is for 1.2c binary) 4) Extra link for version 1.3 AVX/AES binary (it can be found here) http://download.darkcoin.fr/darkCoin-cpuminer-1.3-avx-aes-windows-binaries.zip5) GPU miner link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=475795.0+ 6) Release date should return to a more normal font size (since it's not a pre-ann) and be something like "Released on x date / 0 premine". If emphasis on the premine aspect is needed, it's not necessary to capitalize the release (which is already past). --- Darkcoin explorer: + Darkcoin explorer should write DRK instead of XCO + Darkcoin explorer should feature the new coin design --- Source code for wallet: + https://github.com/evan82/darkcoin/blob/master/src/qt/res/icons/toolbar.png should be changed with new coin design --- Website: - Change description of 1.3 AVX/AES miner to 1.2 SSE2 miner (as the link points to 1.2) - Add 1.3 miner binary - Add sources for 1.3 miner - Add sources for the GPU miner: https://github.com/prettyhatemachine/sph-sgminer- Change link of darkcoin sgminer as it is the first incarnation and should be slower than the second one - Change font of Darkcoin on the top (too fat - problematic aesthetics), then a snapshot of the website can be taken and replace the thread logo on the first post as well with a more pleasing version. Release information should also be toned town as it's two months back, not a pre-ann. (links for miners are collected here: http://wiki.darkcoin.fr/index.php?title=Installer_Minage_CPU_Windows ) +1 I know the guys are busy, but yes, these things need to be updated ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) just a thought, tesquenure, is the port for the pool? or is it the one you set in your config file? It should be for the pool.

Many Thanks. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) An indicative number is near 1 DRK per 1000kh / day. oke, thank you.. Ok, I'm gonna give it my best shot here. I did use amazon ec2 for a bit, it wasn't at all worth it but it was fun to have 'power' for a short time, LOL. Anyways, I got about 54 kh/s each core, which would be about 1296 kh/s and I'd say at current difficulty, you'd get about 1 coin a day ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Isn't a Chinese markets news post completely irrelevant if p2p currency is officially banned in China?
They keep their government controlled banks from dealing with crypto currencies, but aside from that, they can't do anything to stop people from using them, no government can.

Problems with the official pool? edit: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FpByV2Pl.jpg&t=663&c=1TwTSqk3DdeuCg) Yeah what happened? I came back home today and I had a whole bunch of timeouts on my mining machine. I also appear to have been temporarily banned because of this for submitting invalids (on an otherwise rock-stable system)? Does anyone know how long the ban lasts for or how to reverse it? EDIT: maybe not banned, maybe official pool still flaky I highly suggest you make a bat/sh file that has a backup pool in case one goes down. You won't miss out if something happens. Other than that, I don't know. Are you on the official pool?

Hey TS. I have no idea. I was offered a 5DRK tip for the work, but the tipbot on Reddit seemed to be broken at the time so I didn't get it, and I've heard nothing about it since. The creator of bitcoinpaperwallet hasn't answered any of the pull requests to add new coins either, so I'm a little disheartened given all the work I put into it.
We have paperwallet for DRK at http://paper.darkcoin.ioBut I guess theirs looks better. Yah, but n00b did it about a week ago, not that having two choices is bad (actually it'd be super if both could be put up on the front page) It's a bit more complex to do n00bs but it's really nice an he must have put some time into it for all of us, but his work got kind of buried in the thread. maybe a direct link to the download? After all, it should be done off line anyway https://github.com/n00bsys0p/bitcoinpaperwallet/archive/darkcoin.zipn00b, maybe we can host it somewhere, if it's ok with the licence, and add a bunch of fun covers, like for holidays, etc... for it?
