16 Days remain. Smiley

Your countdown is pretty funny :-)

I'd call it annoying and somewhat offensive (which is weird...I agree...still)
It's like "If you're not done in 16 das I'm going to...."...whatever he's going to do or thinks will happen.
782  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Redemption ends[Updates&Discussion] on: March 15, 2015, 08:32:22 AM
Actually he is fully 100% gone. I mean gone gone.. Totally gone never coming back hasn't spoken to anyone left all boards handed over money, sites everything, no contact what so ever gone gone...

See, I think if that's a serious post then you look like a liar to me, which is sad.
whether you think I'm lying or not doesn't change the fact that he's gone.

If he really is gone then I'm honestly sad for UP. I don't think he deserved to lose everything for a relatively minor error of judgement. I think the people he was working with for all those months would probably think the same, so to hear that nobody knows how he's doing now, or if he's psychologically OK is pretty terrible. That's why I don't believe dudes in the NEM inner sanctum aren't still in contact with UP. But hey, maybe I'm wrong. UP just dropped everything and left, and all the other NEM dev & support team just went on as if he never existed.

My best guess is UP was truly freaked out at being busted for running an illegal IPO after Erik Voorhees got fined, and he was scared for his career as an economics academic, so he conjured up the bogus 'scandal' so he could 'disappear' like satoshi and BCNext. That makes much more sense to me. UP walking away and you guys letting him over a few sock puppets ... bollocks!

edit: but if my theory is right, you NEM guys have been lying

edit: and if my theory is wrong you're pretty fucking heartless to poor old UP

Unless he came back with another nick or used an already very well established sockpuppet and has the skill to never fall back into any old habits he's as gone as someone can be gone. I'm sure he still drops by with another nick but we wouldn't know about that.
The better part of the devs i think didn't even want him to leave. He wanted to leave and he did.
Actually some people have also brought that theory up but how does that make anyone a liar ? If that was his plan it 1) wasn't a very good one and 2) he pulled it off alone.

If you could kindly drop that subject now that'd be great. You've clearly failed to stur anything up.

NEM's goal was always to have a wide distribution to unique people. We know that having whales risks the success of a crypto currency, so you should all be happy that somebody puts that much effort in it.

And what about this: Start complaining, when you see your stake was removed. Not before that...

That's a selfish move.

First I think about the Project itself. This decision will hurt the project. Many questions will arise and NEM will suffer from FUD after release like NXT suffered.
Then I think about my friends.
And then I think about my own stake which I don't care that much.

NEM's goal was always to have a wide distribution to unique people.

They are killing their own goal. That's why I said that NEM was derailing from its course as well.

FUD is something NEM has dealt with from day 1. Bring it on I guess.
Your a Sr. Member and a known NXTer. If you make your case during the extended redemption period you and your friends might get their stakes back (if you where removed that is). TWinnderD (I'm sure the name rings a bell ?) was in the exact same situation and got most of his stakes back (but then again he just made his case and asked me instead of going striaght into the thread and starting to point fingers).

Ahem. I have not contacted you, nor have I more than one stake from the forum claiming.

Please clear this up!

You're absolutely right and I apologize. I confused you with someone else Lips sealed.

No problem. The only reason I wanted that cleared up was because someone sent me a PM asking about it.

I never should have mentioned any name which is why I'm not gonna say whom I confused you with. Heat of the moment i guess.

Hope coinimal is going well Smiley

No exiting !!!

I have problems to download the NEM Client!! I have already JAVA but there is a problem!!!
What is the standalone Version and where i can get it?Huh?
NO Launch please with this problems!

http://bob.nem.ninja/nis-ncc-0.5.18.zip standalone.
If you were a little more specific than, "there is a problem" then someone might be able to help you Roll Eyes

First guess...You installed the 32bit version of Java instead of the 64bit.

can you give me the link to the 64bit version? Must i deinstall the older version first?

Edit: I installed the version from ninja and i think this is automatically the 64 bit version?

download: https://www.java.com/de/download/manual.jsp
I think the standalone runs with 32bit as well.

could you explain the issue please?

there is an error window : There is been an error the installer could not find a valid java (tm) on this machine.

but i have the current version download it many times...

okay now I'd  bet you have the 32bit version. Uninstall it and download the 64bit version of java. You'll be recommended the 32bit version but disregard that. You NEED the 64bit version.

789  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NODE Revolution: "Money is a means of payment, not speculation" (с) on: March 14, 2015, 07:50:23 AM

He did ? Didn't even notice that. Could you maybe point me to the post ? Was there an explanation given on how he fixed it ?

Was turned off "send coins" so that users don't have speculated on the transaction

Okay so it's not fixed. You temporarily took the A out of POA.
I see. Thanks for explaining.
790  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NODE Revolution: "Money is a means of payment, not speculation" (с) on: March 13, 2015, 03:40:42 PM
Selling pressure in Bter, now the price is under 120 satos,
where are the buyers?

No traders in BTER and you must know the reason for that... NODE needs to be added to some major exchange.
You're damn right. I don't know what the devs are waiting for. We are all lucky we got our NODES back, but I can't trust Bter.com anymore. So, if I can't trade, I won't hold my NODES. And I can't forge at the moment because it's impossible, the PoA thing isn't fair.

Dev fixed the PoA so it couldn't be gamed anymore.  You should be good to forge now.

edit: the sell orders are minimal, don't fall for these tactics

You mean that will be launch at one week??

I think he (CFB) is referring to a secret project  Smiley

He's playing his games. Best to ignore this kind of thing unless you're up for it.

I'm trying to reinstall NEM beta to check the validity of my private key but it doesn't let me as the installer can't detect Java 8 on my system (Windows 7)

I only got Java 8 installed on this system and the Java uninstaller tool couldn't find any old versions of Java on my system.

What should I do?

Any chance you installed the 32bit version of java ?
You need the 64bit version.
It must be it, thanks.

Edit: The client works just fine now and the private key also checked out.

Glad to be on board again.

Good to hear !

Hi ,

When I registered my stake , I forgot to save my public key. I have NEM address and private key but dont have public key.

Do I need my public key when I want to get my stake? If so , is there any chance to change my NEM address?

You only need the private-key.

i did not say teh logo discussion delayed the launch Pat.

I did point out that CfB proposed an interesting automated way to eradicate the insider sockpuppets, and record it on the blockchain.
Are you saying that there are no insider sockpuppets controlling massive stakes?

I'm pretty sure there are none.
You suggested we were delaying launch for the logo discussion and not for what CfB suggested which isn't true.

I like how you like to avoid the point of discussion, even when it is pointed out to you.(pun intended)
I also like how you are "pretty sure there are no insider sockpupets"

I'm not avoiding anything. I said I would consider doing it but not at the cost of delaying launch.
Glad you like that.

What exactly do you have in mind ? What would that look like ?

Everyone who controls private keys to a set of stakes that need to be investigated (excluding those from Nxt AE I think) launches NEM wallet and leave it open. At some moment (triggered by Bitcoin block N, data can be gotten from Blockchain.Info easily) all the wallets start solving cryptographical puzzles depending on Bitcoin block hash and NEM account id. In 15 minutes these puzzles are sent to a server controlled by NEM devs and the hash of received puzzles is published and copied by a lot of people who have to wait these 15 minutes.

After that we can make a good assessment how many computers "controlled" by a particular NEM stake and we can verify the puzzles because their hash is publicly known. Someone owning 100 stakes have to find 100 computers.

That would basically be another round of redemption and that takes months. I don't think we have the time for that. You could have suggested that half a year ago Smiley

Oh that's so cool, so we can have neverending logo discussions, but not really clean up all the insider sockpuppets, that will end up nicely i am sure.

How often do you need to hear it ?
The logo discussion didn't delay launch! Is that so hard to understand?
Not to mention a part of the community held the whole thing. Are the devs supposed to keep the community from showing some activity ?

If you find a solution to do this investigation anyway that'd be awesome. But I guess that's not what you meant ?

Your guess is correct.

Care to enlighten us what you did mean ?

Ok, looks like I came here too late. This was my fault and I'll fix it by myself.
