781  Economy / Economics / Re: Help me analyze the feasibility of this business idea on: October 12, 2023, 09:12:15 PM
1. I'm good in maths and science-related courses and have always loved teaching; my initial plan as a young person was to enter fully into the teaching profession when I grew up. But now I have grown to know how much teachers are paid and the fact that a single source of income isn't enough to sustain one in today's world and I'm looking at the possibility of doing a teaching job which is what I'm passionate about and use my remaining free time to focus on my crypto and other online stuff that I'm into. My issue with this is that some schools can be engaging and might not give me breathing space to face other stuff.
The reward in teaching isn’t always in the salary you’re paid, these I have known from experience and those of others. If you have the grace to live long, you might as well get to witness the success of the people you’ve brought up and they may be the once to support you or maybe aid your wards in the times of need.

It’s no doubt that, teaching could be exhausting with having to prepare lesson notes, following the educational curriculum and your required to do extra work to ensure your students come out amongst the best in national and internal exams.

In all that, you can also create time if you will. There is always free time for leisure and if you will it, you can create that time for your online activities.

2. The other option I'm also considering is that, since I have basic experience in graphics, and also have little tech knowledge, I can start up a computer institute where I will focus on training young teenagers on the foundation of basic computer operation, graphics, some tech-related course and also use the working environment to conduct private lesson for them. My issue with this option is that there are people already using their cafe for computer training in the area where I intend to start this business so my fear is how best I can manage the competition although I have a unique idea that is different from what those existing cafes are doing.
One thing I can tell you about this is,
If you’re afraid of the competition, you can never succeed in your field of business or investment.
You have yo recognize that, there are always those that might best you in whatever you choose to invest in or run as a business. Start and push for better, not minding the competition but instead, use it for a motivation to improve yours.

You have a unique idea, build on that. It’s your trick for success.
782  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you deal with financial stress? on: October 12, 2023, 08:31:55 PM
Patience and not giving up is the key. Many people have experienced it so you are not alone. They are still patient and keep trying even if they look tired. The way to stay optimistic is to believe that every day we live will get better until we can get a better life. No need to feel sad because we've been through the hard way. Now, we're given a new hope after pandemic ends so we must try with harder than before.
but we also need to do something different in order to improve not just patient because after all life not to go on, so if we can be comfortable why not, through all the hard work we might make it.
when hardwork finally pays off then at least we don't have to be stressed by finance condition again, because we can't lie that the stress is mentally exhausting and doesn't matter how optimistic we are, we would always have some thoughts about this, therefore escaping financial crisis is the way.
How do we get patient with life? Especially in this dispensation when everything seems to have sky rocketed, life is been lived on the fast lane, making money as well and trying to live patiently for a best time is something you would have a had time doing.

Hard times calls for different measures and means to archive a goal. Even in the pandemic there were windows of opportunities it came with for making money. Food items became expensive and sanitary items where a priority which and the market on these where pushed up and it created an online awareness for every one with the stay at home culture it came with.

Maybe I'm stressing out too much because I'm yet to find proper housing to establish myself again after being away for over a year in the military. I'm generally an anxious person myself, but does anyone else feel the same, and how do you deal with it? How do you stay optimistic?
Away for a military tour huh! That’s a good one and thank you to have been there for the rest of us and making society a peaceful place to live.

Rather than worry, look for solutions to improve your current predicament, it would serve you more than just worrying!
783  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I want to fulfill my mother's dream of building a house with Bitcoin. on: October 12, 2023, 08:03:00 PM
My mother has a dream to build a house, maybe in the future I will have to help her fulfill her dream because my father is spending the money he earns on my education and running the family so at the moment he cannot afford to build a house. I have already gained enough knowledge about trading by being involved with Bitcoin, firstly I want to start my Bitcoin journey through trading, after making some money from trading I plan to invest in Bitcoin for four years. These four years I will hold my investment and also save the money earned from trading or signature campaign for four years so that after four years I can start building the house.
I don’t think there is anything ridiculous about how your family faired or what dreams you’ve got but, I must say, it’s a huge dream you know! Planning yo erected a building out of your Investments in Bitcoin and Bitcoin trading.

Trading happens to be a very experienced path to walk your way through to your dreams but, it’s the most productive as well and as such, if you feel you’ve got enough experience to play in the sea of these experience traders, both professionals, then you could give it a shot. It would be bumpy but, you would grow along the line.

Quote
You must pray for me so that I can fulfill my mother's dream.
I must say, the word “must” as used here isn’t a very polite way to ask for our prayers on your course. We all hope you archive your dreams but, don’t put all your hopes on Bitcoin. Be sure to add other investments as well.
784  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Someone inscribed the War Logs of Wikileaks into BTC on: October 11, 2023, 11:17:17 PM
Now someone is inscribing all of those war logs (which are the top secret of the US and removed by them ) in the BTC blockchain. I mean, whether they are doing the right thing or not I will not get into this discussion. But overall we might see some hot things against BTC as the documents which are already on the BTC blockchain now, cannot be deleted or altered.

I cannot say anything that what those authorities would do but one thing I will say for sure is, that BTC has not provided us the financial freedom only but provided the freedom of speech too. And now I have started to think that BTC is legendary and really has exceeded the expectations of Satoshi (answer to those OPs who ask mostly --> either BTC exceeds Satoshi's expectations or not?)

Well, the group who have taken responsibility is known as Project Spa-rta-cus's and they have initialized a website to inscribe the logs on the BTC blockchain. Well, now from the technical point of view, we might see a surge in the transaction fee because if someone has decided to inscribe all of the 92,000 documents then we might see some congestion on the market. So, be prepared for it.
In truth, there has been more and more discoveries and development in recent times. It’s only a matter of time for certain innovations yo be associated with several other use cases. With the ordinals loophole, it becomes a very good revenue to ensure proper data collection and safety over the years. Though this was done on the Bitcoin Blockchain, this is only a utilization of the opportunities available on the blockchain network and nothing more.

If this could lead to attacks on the Bitcoin Blockchain network in order to override what’s been done, I think that is possible but, I doubt there would be any success on it as I like to believe it’s been attempted already in other to discredit the system.

The world is changing and the people who live in it has to know well enough on how to handle the changes of the time we exist.
785  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the Future of Bitcoin without the Inventor? on: October 11, 2023, 10:57:38 PM
Despite that the Bitcoin technology was designed in an open source software – a source code that everyone, including me and you, can inspect, modify and enhance. The effect of the founders could be felt if they are not available to in any way monitor the processes.

I don't have an in depth knowledge on how the open source software works, which has perhaps led me to more curiosity hence my question, yet I feel like Bitcoin still undergo some security guard and monitoring to safeguard it against the black-hats.
I’m out here reading this and am wondering if the founder has been around actively working on Bitcoin to keep it functional as we have it.

Satoshi Nakamoto remains a Pseudonymous creature through which, his nature is yet to be understood either to be a single individual or a body and the founders absence has been attributed to be some of the reasons for the success of Bitcoin and as such, why do you really think otherwise?
Are there coins out there that are doing great because of the presence of its founders?

Bitcoin was created to take a life of its own and while it continues to gain wide spread and usage, it continues to be modified to suit the times.
786  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 9 years ago today, an epic battle played out on bitcoin exchanges. on: October 11, 2023, 10:22:06 PM
Regardless, I believe that whale sold at a profit.  During those times, only a few foresee that Bitcoin price will reach this height.  That is not the only event that happen when whales sold out their stash and was nibbled by the Bitcoin community.
Selling at a profit that's gor sure but, you can rash have a rulings on the fact that, this wasn't there intent with the investment idea for the BearWhales but, banked on the idea of a possible dump based on the FUD that happened to have taken hold of the times and it seemed very reasonable at that, with the limited block size of 1MB.
Let's  have it that maybe by some means, they bought themselves back when they got the assurance that Bitcoin was going to be around for a longer time.

FUD has always been a part of the industry and would continue to be as by some means to eliminate weak hands and better set the phase/price of the currency. Its left for users to learn from history and do there best to recognise opportunities.
787  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Nigerian street pranks and its effect. on: October 10, 2023, 11:49:31 PM
One thing I like for a fact be say, these guys are looking out for legit means to make a living and not just making money for the moment but, building something that could earn them something for a life time.
Eventually, them think very little on what they are doing because, they are living actual casualties on the way without even knowing.

Like the idea was to entertain and eventually, you live some people broken. You don’t archive the whole purpose with that!

Pranking people on the street has become a common order with no consideration of the victim's emotional/psychological state of mind.
People actually get emotions and psychological issues and these guys need to realize that, in fact I feel they do realize because, that’s what the humor is supposed yo be about but, they don’t really give a shit on the immediate victims.

There is a twist yo it though. Some go as far as writing and caring scripts while portraying it to be the real deal but, we know and under appreciated those once.
That’s how twisted the matter be but, Omo, them need yo watch it. Now, some people live Dey there devices and they might just be extremely cautious as new and more costly devices fit no worth info way some devices hold.
788  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are successful gamblers seen as addicts? on: October 10, 2023, 11:30:57 PM
In my opinion in gambling can not be successful all the time because the level of success in this area depends very much on a factor beyond our control - luck. Luck can not be improved in any way, unlike the skill of the game. Therefore, for me personally still remains open the question of what gambler can still be considered successful. And in my understanding it is a gambler who has learned to control himself and play gambling without bringing problems to themselves and their loved ones.
As much as luck remains the primary determinant of a gamblers fate, we could still bank some on skill as, there are a few games that uses a bit of skill and know well in a fair play situation to determine who wins. Games such as we have in sports betting. It’s almost normal for the elite teams to take the lead and shine on every time with some few cases where you can have even an almost relegated team come up with some surprises and be the victor.

Another game for the casino board games is the game of poker and even blackjack. Play your cards right and you just might find yourself winning impressively.

Still, there is a luck factor attached as, you never can accurately speculate when those surprises are going to come or not. So, you don’t ho all in at any point. It could easily turn out to be a big mistake.
789  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [banned mixer] 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: October 10, 2023, 11:24:05 PM
Palmer's presence at No.10 has lifted us slightly, and the attackers are finding their feet; we're heading in the right direction. A win against Arsenal after the international break will hit like crack.  Grin
In your dreams! Grin Chelsea will be bullied by Arsenal, Mark my words Cheesy
Oh boy! That was harsh, don’t come at him like that, he might have a heart attack. You know Igebotz is a grayed fellow. Sorry man @Igebotz but, Chelsea will still be washed up when they face Arsenal.
The game got Arsenal was Manchester City and with the table haven’t been adjusted with Spurs at the top, Arsenal in second place and Manchester City just behind in third place, Arteta and his boys are fired up to keep the pace.
If E. Halaand or Alvarez or Foden even couldn’t have their way with Arsenal, R. Sterling or N. Jackson, would be better off just holding things down at the midfield.

Let’s just hope the score line isn’t something shameful because, I’ll like to track back and laugh at this. If I forget, please remind me!
790  Other / Meta / Re: Legendary Members Spread Completely Fake Information - Merit System Do Not Work on: October 10, 2023, 09:58:40 PM
Legendary members spread completely fake information - merit system do not work.
It’s a good thing you know something about medicine (Anthelmintic drug) which I don’t even know what that is but, you need to learn something about generalization like the sort you did in that quote and affirming something that haven’t got any relativism with merit system to merits.

You can’t try or hope to make something right by using the wrong moves. Maybe I can’t tell you anything about Anthelmintic drug but, I can tell you that you’re wrong on the part where you have to generalize legendary members to be spreading fake news. That’s, false.
The merit system only rewards quality posts and that’s just about it. It doesn’t decide on what’s true or not and it only tells the perspective of a person and that’s the one meriting. Get over it:

Also, you could as well note that, not all you see on the internet is true. Choose what you would believe after doing proper research to it and pass on the rest.
791  Other / Meta / Re: Request: Disable JayJuanGee in the Wall Observer thread on: October 10, 2023, 09:46:29 PM
I think @OP, your proposed solution is no solution at all. Disabling someone that gives just about a single merit at a time on a single post doesn’t make any good to the issue you’re making an elephant out of on the forum.

JayJuanGee remains one popular guy on the forum and that’s not solely because of his patterns to giving merits but also due to the volume of his posts too. He’s no shit poster and you can always find him making constructive arguments, openly expressing his opinions, he stays open to contrary views and ready to agree when he’s in the wrong.

Some old habits die hard and if OP or anybody else would try to link, JJG to any of the shit posting account on the forum, I’ll be in shock, iced in my core. I don’t see how such a quality poster would be reduced to reposting tweets and laying out just few words to a post, nope that ain’t JJG.
792  Other / Meta / Re: bitcoin discussion board have lot of unecessary questions on: October 09, 2023, 10:45:03 PM
most of them start thread about "my first bitcoin purchase" i convinced my dad to invest in bitcoin, "bitcoin is life", etc. which is mostly a waste of time for good posters.
most users post low quality replies to get post count for signature campaign, and the other users start threads like these because many members award them merits, show my request is stop replying to them if it's not an important discussion.
I can agree with you that it's unnecessary to you but,to a few others, its highly necessary and by someeans to gain encouragement and show there efforts in Bitcoin as a whole. So, you just might get used to seeing a few more threads of that nature becuase,it ain't stopping soon.
What seems to be troubling is, most of those threads are just amde up  garbage that has zero quality to it. I mean, it's more believable when it's followed with a photo album but, still, it doesn't prove passion, just steps taken to a goal that could be far from the protected. Maybe to create a thread of that nature on the forum.

Guess what, its a polarized scheme and no longer milk anything anymore so, good luck to those having this idea and be well aware that, you ain't getting nothing than posts on these sort of posts no more.
793  Other / Meta / Re: Does deleting our own posts harms our acccount ? on: October 09, 2023, 10:31:59 PM
You can get tagged for deleting your own post, it’s not against the forum rules. Deleting your own posts will only reduce your activity. It cannot be used as a reason to damage the reputation of your account.
I suppose the word here is can't as the rest of your write up connotes.

Hence, there is no law anywhere that restricts you from deleting your own post. Like it's been said over and over, it affects your activities in rear occasions but, that's more observed on beginners accounts. If you feel a post isn't in its place (off-topic) or just doesn't fit anymore, you can always save moderators the stress and just delete.

Then again, there are occasions when deleted posts could actually draw attention to your account and get people wondering what might have been wrong and even get into digging on you. This plays out in cases of;

1. Massive deleting of old posts:Here the idea is always about an account changing hands and as such, a user might want to establish a new niche and possibly, erase any ties to a local board or frequent board.

2. Obvious cases wherever being looked up: Here is often about plagiarism cases and attempts to erase the evidence. U fortunately, Ninjanistic space have got them backups, sorry.

In these cases, you could find yourself in trouble even on a deleted post.
794  Economy / Reputation / Re: This forum is just for high rank member on: October 08, 2023, 11:50:55 PM
That your case isn’t handled as expected doesn’t make the forum picky on a side. As far as I can tell, a well detailed report with factual presentation of proofs and reports that goes against forum rules are not taken likely. It doesn’t matter if you’re a newbie or a legendary. If you take a trip to meta to look at the unban request, you would as well notice that those aren’t newbie accounts but, well established accounts in the forum.

Lashing out like that on rank users isn’t going to make your reports taken any seriously at OP. Perhaps you ain’t getting everything right in your report format and it ain’t satisfactory enough to result in drastic measures. You could as well learn how it’s done from those that are getting results and emulate them.

I haven’t really taken to these paths so I have nothing really to offer as per means to digging out flaws but then, you could learn a thing or two from the bulk of established users that dominate the reputation board rather than blast them.
795  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Everyday skyrocket of goods and commodity on: October 08, 2023, 09:13:33 PM
The most annoying part is the fact that there are some food we produce locally like, garri, cucumber, potatoes, yam, and corn. Instead of selling this locally produced food at a considerable price they will begin to make comparison with foreign goods and then increase the prices of the locally produced foods.

What's your own view?
My friend, no be as you think na em e be on this matter. You no dey get the full side to the story. Locally produced goods or not no mean say, the price gats drop when majority of the things you dey consume as per other commodities as well as, clothes, electronics and all na from outside you dey import am. Na the money you generate from these internally or locally made goods you go use buy the other foreign produced items way you need.

Woman way plant pepper for en backyard, harvest the pepper and carry go sell for market, e go still need money to buy cream way e go use rub e Pikin? If e sell the pepper cheap, where e go get the balance to add up and buy the cream.

The solution na simply to be more productive on the things we consume. If our import drop and export increase, we go do well and our currency go add value to itself small because, people go dey buy we naira.
796  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Try get good sense of humor, e get why on: October 08, 2023, 09:03:32 PM

Naaahhh, that was some genius move, you did good right there.
E had to vex for that kind thing shah because, you understand watin dey at play but still, even with the good way them police been dey try portray, you know the motive but handled it well.

Meanwhile, people are just different and sometimes, you’ve just got to accommodate people the way you see them, na when you no fit accommodate con react just like them, then you become no different from them.
A dog trainer go tell you say, when you dey try teach dog something and e dey bark, e no mean say you go con dey follow am shout to obey commands, it would only mean say, you kwa dey join in the barking.

People get how them dey take communicate and when e no too sure for you, you fit still softly show say, you been expect more.

the world dey turn round.
How true is this statement?
Like, does it really mean say people way dey do well now go fail tomorrow?

Life na how you plan am o although, that no mean say you go carry as e do you dey go use press person and e no still mean say, person go bank on that saying con dey try make you take shit or compromise. When person no do well and e reach to show am say, “my friend, you no try”. Tell am say e no try less, you can expect more shit from him while waiting for the would to rotate finish.

Can somebody who has connections in BC.game website please contact the forum representative (member called BC.GAME on here) regarding an update on this scam accusation? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5466857.new#new

I am flabbergasted. Mid-september he said he would investigate things and if the story was true he would compensate me....and then he simply didn't log in on here for 3 full weeks? Can somebody alert him? This is so weird and disappointing....
Just did a review on your earliest complains from the referenced thread and though it’s taken sometime, perhaps they have a reason and I feel it would have been best your updated on what’s the development to keep faith and your mind at ease but then, having to remind the team like you’ve done in resounding the pending issue isn’t a bad idea.

I can see that BC. Game have been active on the forum lately and will always keep a close eye on the thread so, the user would be sure to relay your concerns once more to the team and you would as well, keep the contacts on their toes by asking necessary questions on update and concerns about your situation.

Calmly follow up your complaints and cooperate with the team to get your solution. I wish for that it gets resolved though, good luck.
798  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling should be play with care on: October 08, 2023, 08:11:08 PM
If you lose money then you can look for it again, but if you lose time to chat with your family, to improve your knowledge and abilities at a young age, then where will you look for the precious time that you have missed and neglected because it was too much. focus on the gambling you are doing. Time can never be turned back, so for now, take advantage of the remaining time to improve yourself and improve your relationship with your family.
This is an interesting point, due to our limited lifespans we cannot really afford to waste time, however this is even more true for the young, and this is because during those years they need to build the foundation of what their life will be, so if they spend the days of their youth not doing anything to grow their skills and their abilities then once they grow up they are not only not have the time to do it, but they will be way behind those that took the time to do this on their youth and that now have way more free time than them.
It’s an interesting take on the cost of gambling at a very young age and even as an adult with family. Gambling when not controlled don’t just take funds off you but your time as well which is rather priceless in the regard that, it’s irrecoverable and once lost, it’s gone to you forever. There are reasons why gambling is reserved for adults and not adults by just your age although, that’s all that we’ve got to speculate on reason but, you’ve got to be well grounded to be in charge of your entire thought, conscious of what’s going on about you, your emotions and have a particular control your finance.

Don’t let gambling take both your funds and time too. Ensure you’re winning and you’re gambling with only that which you can afford to lose and be sure you’re not taking way more risk than necessary to increase your winning chances. When your not getting it right, retrace your steps and seek means to prevent from building an addiction.
799  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop discouraging Newbies from Bitcoin... on: October 08, 2023, 08:01:10 PM

Right? There's no need to spoonfed newbies or any members here. Sweet words will go nowhere in life and members are just stating facts that are surely useful for those who are new to such.
Most times, that’s what users out here needs, they aren’t open to some good criticism and hope to be pushed towards what could be their fall. Trading has made a lot of people hate the idea of cryptocurrency or should I say Bitcoin because, they are often met with loses and as such, the best form of advice is always that they get to learn first and practice trading with virtual money till they get the hang of it before entering into the live trade.
That ain’t a discouragement to me but, just a hand on your ears to be attentive to reason.
You can be a newbie on the forum but, don’t be a complete newbie to trading, it wouldn’t give you a chance to retrace your steps without doing real damage to your capital.
800  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin millionaire: Lucky or possesses more qualities that we don't have. on: October 08, 2023, 07:46:18 PM
_Early tech exploration: They got into the industry very early which they took good advantage of, while others were guessing and still not confident about it. They bought Bitcoin at a very cheap rate when people where even afraid of spending a thousand box on it.

_ Long term perspective: They don't just buy, they look at it on the long run, they know when to take risk but at the same time they don't buy and sell with emotions.
These are the two main qualities that defines these guys. I don’t give much importance to the rest in OP as, any one can have patience in a profit situation, especially when you’ve established trust on the commodity of which you’ve invested in and that in this case is bitcoin.

These Bitcoin millionaires comes in phases. We have those that had the foresight to buy when the coin was pretty much worth a few cents and gradually transcended to a dollar. While, we have the whale buyers who buy with huge funds and lots of bitcoins too to there hodlings as an investment for the future.

Looking at it for a long term investment, the fluctuations and activities on the coin matters not to you. Its a long term investment and the choices can only be determined after a long term where ever that is defined.
