Does deleting our own posts harms our acccount ?

This is not accurate.
Your activity is minimum of 14*number of two-week periods in which you have been active and number of your posts. So, if you delete some of your posts and your post count decreases to 100, your activity wouldn't be necessarily 100. Your activity will be a number between 0 and 100.

Thanks for fixing me there was a calculation error only which I fixed otherwise whatever I said was accurate. In order to earn 1 activity point a user has to make at least 1 post on the forum but the number of activity a user can gain is limited to 14 each two week period. And if we keep that thing in mind and suppose that a user who has been active on forum for at least 20 weeks and has made at least 14 or more posts per week during those 20 weeks then we can say that the user has most probably got at least 120 activity points or more to get eligible for full-member rank.

Now suppose that the user has made at least 200 posts during those 20 weeks and now he/she somehow decides to delete some of the old posts. If the same member deletes at least 100 posts from the 200 posts and now he/she has 100 posts on the forum. That's an indicator that the user has only 100 posts and in such case the user will have 100 activity points and he/she is no more eligible for full-member rank even if he/she has more than 100 merit points.

You can get tagged for deleting your own post, it’s not against the forum rules. Deleting your own posts will only reduce your activity. It cannot be used as a reason to damage the reputation of your account.

I suppose the word here is can't as the rest of your write up connotes.

Hence, there is no law anywhere that restricts you from deleting your own post. Like it's been said over and over, it affects your activities in rear occasions but, that's more observed on beginners accounts. If you feel a post isn't in its place (off-topic) or just doesn't fit anymore, you can always save moderators the stress and just delete.

Then again, there are occasions when deleted posts could actually draw attention to your account and get people wondering what might have been wrong and even get into digging on you. This plays out in cases of;

1. Massive deleting of old posts:Here the idea is always about an account changing hands and as such, a user might want to establish a new niche and possibly, erase any ties to a local board or frequent board.

2. Obvious cases wherever being looked up: Here is often about plagiarism cases and attempts to erase the evidence. U fortunately, Ninjanistic space have got them backups, sorry.

In these cases, you could find yourself in trouble even on a deleted post.

I tend to agree with you and that's why sometimes we think to let it be if you know your posts aren't spamming, trolling, posting malware links, or in short, not against the forum rules then you are fine especially, plagiarism which has a worse penalty.  Remember those staff before hitting the post button.

So there's no harm in your account aside from dropping activity if you delete too much in your post.

Not deleting posts will be better, as BitcoinTalk is allowing you to edit, why not edit? It would be better to edit than delete a post, and also mostly newbies don't know how to post, so they post wrongly when someone reports to mode, and then the post is deleted, it is also an alert for the newbie or poster to post something constructive and ask something that is according to the topic, and he should make sure that is not out of the topic.

But the only thing you have to be very alert about is copying some other's post, this will affect your account badly and after that, you can't post anything through your account. So, make sure to keep yourself away from plagiarism and not copying others, otherwise, you can get a strong penalty for it.

I think this actually depends on the post you want to delete, because sometimes I feel we do often have some old posts of ours that are not necessarily important and or maybe you accidentally type a mistake and don't feel comfortable the deleting it wouldn't be a problem but in case whereby you start deleting post that are showing some doings with your account and you feel you want to delete for privacy reason or others then that's a different case although they would be problem if it doesn't catch the attention of any DT or member but in situation when you did something and people starts digging into your account then I think you would probably get sanctioned or tag for being suspicious.

I'm even surprised that you noticed this. Honestly, your nonsense about the dangers of gambling in any topic is very annoying, and as you understand, your second account is also already known for the same actions.
I hope that this post of yours will really be a good starting point for writing normal posts. I have a lot of your reports of empty posts.

I think for safety if you want to delete your old post to avoid ranking down you can report/request to mods to delete it for you.

I think if they will delete the posts for you, then it might be tag as spammy, I actually thinking to delete all the reports I have made for so many bounties I have joined back in time, I even found a way to delete it automatically (using a bot) so after finding a bot, I thought I should see, if it is fine to delete 600 posts or not  I mean, if the moderators will delete them then it will look like I made those posts and they are spammy posts and of no use to the forum or anyone.

Here on this forum, we have at least two archives keeping copies of posts even if you delete them from your profile. So once you hit publish, you cannot really hide it after that.

Really! Can you mention the archives (the second one) where our posts are being copied. I am actually amazed to hear this. I thought, our posts are only saved in our draft which are deleted after 7 days I think. Wait, are you talking about the draft as the second archive? or is it any other place where our posts are saved?
