785  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do Atheists hate Religion ? on: December 22, 2015, 01:56:46 PM
Not all atheists hate religion as not all religious persons hate atheism but I would imagine any atheist who hates religion probably sees religion as a cause of some of the greatest dicisions in society today whether that is right or wrong. Its also possible the persons who were religious may have lost their faith due to personal hardships experienced that led them to believe that their religion failed to save them from but then again most of the saints from certain religions were also persecuted and suffered and held their faith for some reason so its not a simple debate. Its all personal choice and what influences you as an individual.
786  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Share Your Methode on: December 22, 2015, 01:44:55 PM
You could try a few things like trading between exchanges and using arbitrage opportunities or maybe speculating on some alt coins also providing some type of useful service to bct community and accepting btc as payment.Host nodes, webdesign for alt coin communities, coding, promotion etc.Try to do many various things and it will all add up instead of trying to earn it all off one thing. That way if something doesnt work you can concentrate more time and energy on what does earn something etc etc

Is it possible to switch staking off?I can't seem to make any coins spendable  Sad

Coins should become spendable once you set the wallet to the amount you want to remain spendable.Go to settings>options  and then enter the amount of coins you want to remain spendable on the reserve amount box. That will prevent those coins going into staking and always ensure that amount remains spendable.

If you want to switch staking off you could try to use the shortcut similiar to the rescan option using the command -staking=0   the default is 1

Thanks, also is there any reason why staked/generated coins from yesterday are still not confirmed. It seems to be taking longer before they are spendable?

It depends on the amount of wallets staking on the network, hashpower etc afaik.I have coins from 2 days ago that are generated but still not accepted. It happens and is nothing unusual or out of the ordinary.
788  Economy / Gambling / Re: Biggest bitcoin bet of 2015? on: December 22, 2015, 10:40:56 AM
A player who is assumed to be an old bettor called mechs did a large bet of over 1300 BTC in a single bet at BetKing.io (former PocketRocketsCasino) a while back. Is there anybody to beat this kind of a bet anymore? The highroller managed to build up hundreds of BTC via small multipliers before losing.

What are your thoughts? Is there any point in betting hundreds of thousands of dollars on dice, even if the site is trusted? I personally feel like I'm betting a crap ton even if the bet sizes are as tiny as 0.1 BTC...

Well 1300 btc is a huge amount to us, but if he is really the "mechs" on JD, it is probably not that much to him. In case someone does not know, mechs is the one making that famous 7000 btc bet on JD in 2013. He lost it, and his reaction is very calm it seems to me. You can check the relevant chat log on https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1136123.msg12063296#msg12063296.

He doesnt seem too calm though but cant blame him I too would have prolly projectile vomitted all over the shop too

2013-10-02 04:53:52 <mechs> Doog: I am fucked
2013-10-02 04:54:17 <mechs> Doog: I am going to vomit

I am never going to gamble again. I never win, I just hate it, god damn it!
Screw all those casinos, they all become rich because people play and lose their coins. It is imposible to win from the house. I suggest everyone to stop because it is bad!

LOL dude I was going to give up too until your signature enticed me over to LuckyBTCcasino and now I am broke as shyte again

792  Economy / Gambling / Re: FORTUNEJACK.COM | No.1 for Cryptocurrency Gambling | Provably Fair | 3 BTC BONUS on: December 22, 2015, 10:18:15 AM
There is a poll going on here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1285430.msg13307046#msg13307046 to vote for the best gambling site and fortunejack is doing pretty well but someone mentioned on the thread that one of the major sites are buying votes so maybe some fortune jack fans should do a bit of voting there.Just a suggestion of course.
793  Economy / Economics / Re: What do you guess about he future of bitcoin? on: December 21, 2015, 09:22:08 PM
I think bitcoin will have a stable price in the future and be pegged off major currencies and gold at a fixed price many multiples of what we see today. Its only a matter of time before major commodities will be purchased using it to eliminate middlemen and banking fees etc once a level of trust is built up and all the negative bullshit dissappears
794  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: XBC [Official Thread] BitcoinPlus Anonymous encrypted transactions & messaging on: December 21, 2015, 09:16:16 PM
Just paid hosting fees to the month... $27 usd sold from the spending account.  We are out of funds folks... However, there are still roughtly 14k xbc in polo's community account.  We have made no withdrawals to this account in months to increase the amount of community coins which would have in turn increased the amount of monthly funds coming in to cover these costs, not that it matters too much now since the prices are so low.

Website, email, etc... fees will be due in a few days.  That's roughly $13 usd.

jjmv the price is shyte at the moment but there is a wall there that could take the hit and it shouldnt take too many coins to raise a few poxy dollars. If the price doesnt improve in a while then maybe we consider our options then?I think magic said he was going to cover the fees anyway

796  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the Banking Industry kill Bitcoin and keep the Blockchain? on: December 21, 2015, 06:54:23 PM
Nobody can kill bitcoin once there are people who use it.that is why it is important to promote bitcoin as a good decentralised option in the digital currency arena.Just because banks use blockchain tech it doesnt mean bitcoin users or future users would even consider it.Bitcoin is about more than just a digital currency. With bitcoin you are your own bank. They could try to undermine and attack it other ways of course but bitcoin seems to be going to last the course.

798  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Binary options on: December 21, 2015, 03:20:23 PM
I have used binary options with forex before and lost a bunch making the wrong calls but it is more or less a 50/50 chance you win or lose but I have yet to try it with some of these brokers using btc.maybe doing some better fundamental analysis or using some news releases can help predict the movement on longer times call options is more doable than the shorter timed ones
799  Economy / Gambling / Re: Poll : Who was The Best Sportsbook in 2015 ? Please vote. on: December 21, 2015, 03:14:35 PM
I voted directbet due to instant withdrawls and not having to create an account there
800  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling. Is It Wrong? on: December 21, 2015, 03:10:56 PM
If you are a bookmaker then gambling is profitable but if you are a gambler you usually lose in the end because the gambling mentality usually makes you gamble what you win anyway until eventually you are back where you started but in some cases it differs.

Gambling is wrong when you gamble funds you cannot afford to lose or are using funds that should be used for other purposes like paying the bills or feeding the family. If it reaches that stage then it is not only wrong but you have a dangerous addiction that has become more destructive than enjoyable.

Basically only gamble responsibly with some level of knowledge of the sport/game you are gambling in etc.
