781  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / BCN Bytecoin - The One, true Cryptonote challenger in the Anonymous Crypto World on: January 26, 2015, 11:51:05 AM
Since the collapse of Monero, the original Cryptonote coin Bytecoin has emerged as the only cryptonote challenger in the private and anonymous cryptocurrency field.

http://bytecoin.org/

Darkcoin currently holds the top position - it's well developed, has a strong community and a good daily trading volume.

Bytecoin is the challenger - again well developed, strong community (though not on BCT) and is not a clone of any previous coin.

They both have fast blocks, however Bytecoin has a much larger total supply.

It will be interesting to see how the competition between these two develops.

Sorry, but due to past behaviour -  rpietila or Monero devs are not permitted to post on this thread

782  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 10 months on... About the Bytecoin (BCN) ninjamine on: January 21, 2015, 01:42:08 PM
Oh! Here we go!  Grin

The second that a reasonable thread about Bytecoin appears in the Alts section, the Monero crew jump in with their tired propaganda.

I wonder why they don't just get on and develop their own clone of Bytecoin instead of wasting folks time on BCT with their endless inane threads and topics.

If you hadn't noticed, Fluffy, the market values Bytecoin higher than Monero. Like OP I have a XMR and BCN bag but I am sick and tired of the Monero crew damaging cryptonote.
783  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Monero under 25 cents? What the hell are you waiting for? on: January 18, 2015, 01:12:28 PM
Is it monero-trolling time again already? Feels like such a short time ago we had this shitstorm of trolls, reversed shilling and virtual cockflashing.

You are like an arrogant guy with issues who goes around slapping strangers at every opportunity and then crying when a couple of them hit you back.

Spot on analysis, impressive. Is this your thing? You write horoscopes too?

Yes, I do horoscopes. Would you like my premium rate number for a consultation?  Cheesy

Man Am I stupid, just bought another BTC's worth. Cheesy
It should be criminal to be that stupid! Wink

Criminal like the Bytecoin gang? I wonder how their other criminal operations are running...

Well, the market does not agree with you.

Bytecoin has a larger market share than Monero, now. Monero had a good run with all the hype, shills and a couple of vocal developers but it is over now.

Like it or not, Bytecoin is the original cryptonote coin. It has active developers who work closely with the cryptonote team and a strong community. If Monero had not used the mutually assured destruction tactics from the start I am sure it would have had a place in the cryptonote family. However they burned their bridges by being so aggressive and annoying.
786  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If you haven't invested in VIORcoin yet, you're already 1200% profit late! on: January 15, 2015, 11:12:18 AM

Are you saying that U.S.A. has sunk so far towards authoritarian police state that a law abiding person is not allowed to have a private conversation?
Why don't you guys burn your bill of rights amendments on National T.V.?

can't believe this shit coin has its own market at poloniex, makes the whole site unprofessional.

Agree. Why put money in a Bytecoin clone that's tanking.
You're better off putting it in Bytecoin itself.

788  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Unveiling the truth over the major Monero scam on: January 04, 2015, 01:16:05 PM
Not sure about the pump part, but I feel I have done pretty well during the dump phase.  I reached my notional long-term holding limits shortly after the exchange-traded all-time low.  Without that, I would have required much more BTC to achieve the same goal.

The problem is with the speculators is that they do not care about the tech or infrastructure. All you do is make Monero volatile against BTC and fiat which is not a good thing for it's chances at mass adoption or continued dev.
789  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Unveiling the truth over the major Monero scam on: January 04, 2015, 01:12:03 PM
"The disparity between Monero’s market cap and CoinGecko rankings indicates the Monero price is under-performing. Speculative investors should give Monero a look. "

Well, that latest pumps seemed to go splendidly.

How many Monero suckers got burned in the latest dead cat bounce?

Is that all you guys can think to do - lure suckers in with that stupid [XMR] Monero Flatulation moderated thread? You spend a lot of time an effort to keep it on the front page - however I can't believe the same scam works over and over. I guess their is no limit to stupidity and greed.

Happy New Year!

Same to you, Smooth.

Let's hope 2015 is a good one for crypto's amd especially cryptonotes!

You know what i can't wait to see ? All these crying people storming out of Ripple when Ripplelabs will try to sell another 10% of their coins to finance their development.

You know, if invested, this money inflates the value of Ripple. Perhaps the BTC and LTC whales could have made a difference with their coins but they preferred to sit on it.
792  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Accumulating on: December 16, 2014, 02:29:58 PM
Everyone is riding this XRP wave to get ready to buy BTC and other altcoin bottoms right?

No

Just take a look at the infrastructure and investment going into XRP - Ripple will be the next crypto rocket to the moon. I think we could see 1$ within a few months. ASIC POW is now dying fast - Industrial miners will give up and BTC price will reflect this.

You actually think that Ripple will go to a $31 billion dollar market cap (6 times the size of the current entire crypto market) inside a few months ?
Srsly?

Given it's reach, exposure and usefulness compared to most other cryptos and combined with the obvious BTC POW issues, yes I do.

25$ to open a Ripple account will start to look like a bargain soon.

794  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Monero officially dead? on: December 11, 2014, 01:47:57 PM
The obvious sockpuppets (reversed trolls) like moneroman did indeed dissapear. Those guys were just part of a temporary coordinated attack to take some wind out of the sails, which they succesfully did. This actually validates this project in a way, why would they put all this time/effort/money is something they do not fear?

You have your cause and effect confused here. This was not a coordinated attack on Monero at all. It was a reaction to all the useless threads spamming up BCT-Alt, cordinated trolling in nearly every thread unrelated to Monero and the intransigence of the Monero devs either encouraging this (Smooth) or denying it (Fluffypony).

It's much better now. Even Smooth (despite still jumping into other CTN coin threads) seems to have mellowed. However there still appears to be, either a bot or some saddo XMR shills, who immediately bump a random 'official XMR' thread with an inane one liner the second a 'competitor' CTN coin thread appears on the front page.
795  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Withdrawal Concerns at Poloniex on: December 11, 2014, 01:20:57 PM
Another one bites the dust.

Another what? !

Reasonable fears of a Poloniex customer that have been allayed by the community
or
Exchange?

I, myself never had a problem with Poloniex and wouldbe happy to use them in the future. Having said that I am not a whale so I never deposit more than 1BTC anyway.

Sort of reminds me of the rant Max Keiser recently did against the financial 'regulators'. I agree with the sentiment. Instead of this 'crony capitalist' model where there only exists obfuscation and opacity with the illusion of 'regulators' (who are in fact just more of the cronies) we should demand true markets with knowledge and competition available to all. The policies of Western countries are looking more like Stalinist USSR every year.
797  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin technical discussion on: December 06, 2014, 07:31:02 PM
multisig and GUI wallet is urgently needly,I think

Whilst the above would be nice I actually think that implementing an ability to use 'lite' version of the blockchain would be very advantageous. I can't really see that mobile or embedded daemons are possible without something like this?

799  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Darknet markets choose Dark coin on: November 04, 2014, 01:31:51 AM
i can guarentee you they'll criminalise the trading of the dark currencies soon enough. They'll tell you you were aiding the worst criminals and facilitating crime. I'd be careful with anon-coins. The hammer can come down on them any day.

How will that work, exactly? Short of switching off the internet.
