781  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Seniors apply patience and kindness to newcomers on: September 21, 2023, 07:07:25 PM
Occasionally, some experienced members can be quite harsh and may forget that newcomers are here to learn. While constructive corrections are beneficial, it's crucial to avoid using harsh or abusive language.
You really have to develop a thick skin to be on the internet. You cannot expect cordial communication from strangers on the internet, so it is better to try not to be affected by them.
Many of the users here in my observation keep communication civil except for a few trolls. Blunt communication is not harsh or abusive.

It's true that some posts from newcomers may be of low quality or show a lack of willingness to learn initially. However, I believe that giving them a chance and treating them with kindness is a reasonable approach.
There are so much repetitive low value posts, which contributes to some of the replies that people get on their threads.

782  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Secure Your Legacy, Educate Your Loved Ones on: September 21, 2023, 06:37:39 PM
This is not a sad story cause the person in the story was able to set up a cold storage just in time for the family to be able to access his bitcoins. It will have been really sad if they were not able access it and those coins were lost forever.

Anyone who holds up to 1BTC or even up to $1000 - $5000 worth of bitcoins should create a way in which those coins will not be lost if they lose access to it through a tragic incidence. We should have at least one person with knowledge of how bitcoin works and if we fear they can steal it from us while we are still alive, then we can use a timelocked transaction or address.

783  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A Guide for Cryptocurrency Newbies for Overcoming FOMO on: September 21, 2023, 06:21:11 PM
This comes timely cause we will soon be seeing lots of posts about bull market and the halving which is coming up next year.
FOMO will drive lots of new investors into many coins with little or no value as they chase the profits that they see in blogs about certain coins which have given a certain return on investment and they are driven to buy shitcoins.
OP you do not need to write the topic title at the beginning of the thread and do not have to increase the size or change the color of the text. And as already suggested, you do not need images within texts, this forum is majorly text based so we should only use images when it is really necessary to relay a message.

784  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good fundamentals don't ensure a great investment. on: September 21, 2023, 06:03:35 PM
This is not a bitcoin discussion topic so you should move it from this thread to the Altcoin discussion session or Economics.

In summary, a project's fundamentals are only one piece of the investment puzzle, especially when dealing with highly inflationary tokens.
There are so many pieces to a good investment, but a good fundamental is a very big part of that. Any project that can get the basics right and build something that is in demand and has properties that investors are looking for, it will be able to market itself giving enough time.

...and lastly (CMIIW) —  users can ask for donations in their posts and signatures,
As I understand it, you can only request donations if it is going to the running of a community service like a telegram bot or image hosting website.

Simply asking for donations in a thread with no valid reason breaks rule number 7, No Begging.

We already have lots of reactionary threads being created around the forum. It will be a lot better to reply in the threads that prioritize quantity and suggest to the Op to create a more concise thread the next time than to create a new thread to react to it.

Es expected, Manchester United have all but lost the game to Bayern who are by far the better team. Manchester United are still a long way from being a top team in European football and will take a lot more rebuilding to compete in the continent and even domestically.

Arsenal have been mighty impressive tonight and I really look forward to watching them more on week nights competing with the best clubs from around Europe.

It has truly been like Arsenal never left the champions league after all those years away from the competition. They have absolutely been bossing the game against PSV and are comfortably ahead and look like they can score three or four before the first half is over.

The other English team playing today has also had a good start to the match, effectively limiting the fluid play of Bayern and they have enough fire power to hit on the counter when they get the chance.

790  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: September 20, 2023, 07:02:03 PM
Jude Bellingham has been the definition of clutch for Real Madrid this season. He has come up with very important goals and was just the player that Real Madrid needed going into the new season where they lost some of their fire power.

They played well in the match and were up against very good opponents. Wins like these is what one needs to compete in the champions league and also the league, pulling up three vital points in a tough game.

What is impressive is that Jude Bellingham's performance for England has also improved since he joined Real Madrid and he is growing to be one of the top three players for the future.

791  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never gamble in front of your kids. on: September 20, 2023, 01:06:53 PM
It is responsible of parents to not do any activity that has an age restriction in front of their kids, these includes sexual activities, drinking (irresponsibly), gambling, and so on.
Children are naturally very curious and take an interest in almost anything they see, they should not be exposed to activities they are not legally allowed to practice cause it sets them up to get attracted to it and in turn addicted to that activity.

Then one day, she wanted to play it herself and asked me if she can go for it and I said "no, it's not your legal age to go for such games". So, it's better to keep our kiddos away from gambling and let them focus on their studies, else it'd actually ruin everything for the whole family if the kid takes the wrong path.
You handled it quite well. There is always the downside that kids will still learn everything eventually, through peer groups, television or the internet, it helps to teach it to them and point them to what they can do and what they cannot quite do yet.

792  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the drive that makes women go into gambling? on: September 20, 2023, 01:00:39 PM
The exact same reasons drives women and men into gambling. These is the need to earn money, interest and passion for sports which reflects in desire to predict outcomes and curiosity.
There is no point making a distinction between genders when it comes to gambling interest.

I would be pleasantly surprised if Manchester United achieves a positive result. Anyway, let's hope for an exciting match when Bayern Munich takes on Manchester United.
I will be surprised if Manchester United lose by a decent score line and not bet blown away in the first 30 munites. Bayer  may not be in the best form at the moment but they have enough in their locker to win easily against the Red devils.

If Manchester can win a draw which I expect they will be going for, it will be a huge one point for them in the battle to qualify from the group stages.

All the action is happening in Group H with 3 goals scored in both fixtures in the group.
Barcelona are leading Royal Antwerp by 3 goals to nil and Porto lead Shakhtar Donetsk by 2 goals to one.

While typing this FC Porto have scored a third goal giving them a 2 goal cushion. It is to early to call, but I will expect both teams leading now to make it out of the group with Barcelona finishing top of the pack.

Wenger started his U-25 project when Arsenal was struggling for money, and he had fantastic results with that team on really small budgets.
People made fun of these teams and called them 'nearly there's' but they overachieved almost every season.
The Wenger project was way different from what Chelsea is doing today. Todd Boehly is basically just throwing multiple darts at the mark and hoping one sticks. Buying young players for exorbitant amounts and drawing up long term contracts is not the way to rebuild a team.

He needs to work with the manager and not bring him into the project and understand that it takes time to build up a team, especially after a drop from their current status in the league.

796  Other / Meta / Re: Trust inclusion or exclusion for inactive members. on: September 17, 2023, 04:03:49 PM
From the above scenarios understandably we can conclude that when a user is not active for long time, any feedback it left or received carry no weights or very less weights. After many years, the time has changed, a lot of things of the forum has changed; an old-inactive account is outdated to be in the trust or distrust setting.
Old reports still carry lots of weight and points users in what direction to check when looking for which users to trade with and which to beware of. The date a feedback was left is available for anyone reading it to see and decide what relevance to place on it. They can also check the reference for further information needed.

Chelsea are playing without any sense of direction and that is surprising for a team managed by Pochetinno. The players were all over the place and seemed to be at the exact same level as their opponents.

The season finally gets its first goaless draw.

I was almost having a full three point from Villa match where it looked like it will be a draw but then 2 goals, unbelievable. Tottenham saved their ass with those late two goals too.
Same here. I celebrated the equalizer almost like a Villa fan an then watched them score two more goals to give me my first wrong prediction of the week.

Ten Hagg needs to understand that you don't force the players to play well, your tactics and work on the training ground will be evident on the pitch eventually. He has not had an answer to many of the other top coaches and needs to changed or risk losing his job.

799  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: September 16, 2023, 08:46:18 PM
Barcelona are finally playing at the top of their game and the players are connecting on the pitch to clinical effect. Great play from Joao Felix who is enjoying life at Barcelona which was his childhood dream. Cancelo has also been very brilliant in his first few games and is going to be effective in how well Barcelona retain the possession.

I think Xavi might have finally got the team he wanted at the quality he expects and should deliver in the big stage this time around.

Brighton are proving to be one of the most exciting teams to watch in the league at the moment and De Zerbi is doing a great job there.
It's amazing that they can make 6 changes and still perform at the top level against an opponent like Manchester United.

United had a quarter of an hour to be on top of the game, but after that it has been all Brighton. They coped well with the high press and created spaces behind the midfield.

It was unfortunate that Hojlund did not get his first goal yet, but he looks hungry and will likely get it soon.
