781  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 25, 2024, 08:10:12 AM
Today's first test match England team has been caught by the Indian spinners. The England team was initially scoring runs at a fast pace but then India's one of the best spinner Ravichandran Ashwin hit the England team for 55 runs. England team is currently collecting 155 runs for six wickets in 48.2 overs. The three spin bowlers of the Indian team took six of the six wickets that England lost. Ravichandran Ashwin Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja took six wickets for England.

England team now starts their batting in the second season let's see how well they can play against the Indian spinners today.

Yes, you are right they started well but lost the momentum when Ashwin and Jadeja started to bowl. They are struggling now as they have lost 7 wickets till now and have been only able to get 160 runs. The situation has changed so much for them that I do not think they will get to 200 runs if they continue to lose wickets. After lunch, they lost 4 wickets and now the Bhumrah has taken a wicket which means the lower order will be more in trouble now.
782  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How fast can one achieve Crypto millionaire status with meme coin? on: January 25, 2024, 05:39:17 AM
It is not certain whether Meme coins will last a long time or die instantly, because more people lose a lot of money in a short time than people who are lucky enough to become millionaires because they chose the right Meme coin.  All because of luck, many Meme coins are popping up nowadays, It is clearly confusing to most people why so many Meme coins are created by developers so many are still hesitant to invest in meme coins.

It has been three years and nothing has happened to memecoin. The hype is still on and growing with a lot of investors investing in new coins every day to become millionaires. I am not sure how many investors have become rich after investing in meme coins, what I know is that developers have become rich and they will keep creating more unless the hype goes away. Next bull run we will see a lot of new coins will be launched and people will again go an invest in them.
783  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ChatGPT Arbitrage MEV - Youtube Scam on: January 25, 2024, 05:15:14 AM
After reading what you have written, I am very sorry for the loss that you have incurred. What the scammer is saying is too good to be true and that to using a bot. I saw the videos and read the comments on it, it looks similar to what scammers do. All those who have written positive comments on that video are bots that are writing it and not human. Human tends to write very descriptive comments on how it is working positively or negatively for them, whereas they are all one-liners. Given your condition, I can understand why you have fallen for this scam and I hope you get your money back. I have reported the video but it will take a substantial amount of reports for Youtube to take the video down.
784  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 25, 2024, 04:42:23 AM
England won the toss and choose to bat first. India went with three spinners and two pace bowlers. That is a good strategy as Indian pitches do support  spin bowling. Patidar is not part of the playing team. I saw Shubhman Gill coming in the position where Kohli bats. The form that he is in now, I am not sure whether taking him was a good decision.

I have lost faith in the England team as they have performed poorly throughout the season. So I don't support England team in today's game, because they are not patient players. They have lost with a huge margin even with the normal teams, that's why I think India is strong in today's test match. Farooq's team has reliable batting in Test matches, so if India can put up a good bowling performance today, they can all out England in the first innings on the first day.

Both openers are playing well against the Indian bowling attack. They have not lost a single wicket and are nearing 50 runs. The pitch is not giving any assistance to the pacers it is just flat for now. Later in the day, the spinners might get some assistance. As of now England is batting aggressively and is not facing any issues.
785  Local / India / Re: Why is Bitcoin getting dumped after the ETF approval? on: January 25, 2024, 04:27:50 AM
My take is that if bitcoin drops to $35k and you have liquid cash at the exchanges, buy it. Although considering the condition of exchanges being blocked by ISPs here, this might be difficult - so just wait it out.

More news coming out suggesting Bitcoin can go to $35k. Mt Gox's repayment to those customers who lost their Bitcoin because of a hack has started. A lot of them would have purchased Bitcoin at a very lower price at that time. We can expect a good amount of selling as those Bitcoins are now valued at $33 billion. Although not everyone would be selling their Bitcoin as they know halving is coming and after halving a bull run is expected.
786  Local / India / Re: India cricket Discussion and predictions [self-mod] on: January 25, 2024, 03:56:00 AM
The game started with English winning the toss and choosing to bat first. The replacement for Virat is Shubhman Gill and with his current form, it looks like a bad decision. Ashwin, Axar, and Jadeja are playing which means the pitch will support spin bowling. With Ashwin, India does have depth with batting and of course, we have seen Bhumrah becoming a batter when needed. A good team composition for the first test, and they can defeat the English side with ease.

Rajat Patidar has been named replacement for Kohli, nothing comes close to Kohli for his formidable presence on ground but Patidar is good choice IMO.

He has been added to the squad but will he be part of the playing team? I guess not. There are more bowlers this time and they need a specialist batter which is why he got the opportunity. He made his ODI debut last year and I did not fins him that good or my expectation were to high for this guy. Frankly I am not sure why BCCI selection team takes ages to select players like him as he is already 30 now and might play a max of four years more.

789  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where to buy TON coins? on: January 24, 2024, 07:27:02 AM
There are so many exchanges where TON is listed and most of them are CEX. If you want to check which are those exchanges then you can check it on coinmarketcap.com. You would need to pass KYC on most of these exchanges where it is being traded before making a purchase. Here is the link to the exchanges - https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/toncoin/#Markets
790  Local / India / Re: Why is Bitcoin getting dumped after the ETF approval? on: January 24, 2024, 06:57:58 AM
Why worry about price dropping, rather see it as an option to buy bitcoin.

You cannot determine a single reason and pinpoint the drop in bitcoin price because of that reason, these are multi-factorial in nature. So why bother, let the miners sell, let people sell, you cannot reverse those things can you?

We have seen bear market trends previously too, so dont worry it will go back up. post-ETF selling may be happening, capitalize on that.

Agreed that is the positive way to look into the current Bitcoin market. A lot of investors/traders will be utilizing this opportunity to accumulate more Bitcoin which everyone should do. Some trading influencers are saying that before halving Bitcoin should touch as low as $35k. What is your opinion about it? Will it go to that low or it will hover around $38k to $39k? I do not think it can go to such a low and I do not think it will go beyond $40k.

This is the common question which most of us have been asking and the reason is not the drop in value of Bitcoin but rather the time when it has happened as people were expecting the price of Bitcoin to rally and cross $50k if the spot Bitcoin ETF gets approved but we have seen drop which was least expected and this shows that ETF don't have major impact on price of Bitcoin and this is just a minor price correction which occassionally takes place and soon Bitcoin will be back, always have some additional funds handy to buy Bitcoin in such situations.

Yeah, the current situation of the Bitcoin market is the best example of expectation vs reality. Everyone within the community was excited that ETF approval would cause a short Bitcoin rally but what happened is the opposite. This is why no one has been every successful in predicting Bitcoin.
791  Local / India / Re: New Scam related to URL ban for exchanges in India - [Awareness] on: January 24, 2024, 06:36:31 AM
Scammers are always ready to cash on any opportunities they see that make others vulnerable. The best example is the recovery of lost wallets that we can see on the Service board. Now, they saw that there are a few idiots who invested funds into Bitcoin or alts and have zero understanding of self custody. They would have not used the exchange apps as they would have been informed to use the exchange website to keep their funds safer from hackers. We all know how phone hackers can get access to exchange apps. The banning of the URL is the opportunity they saw and now this new scam business has started. I am beyond doubt that they would have succeeded in scamming those knuckleheads.
792  Local / Mining (India) / Re: How well people here in india knows about Mining on: January 24, 2024, 06:27:09 AM
The concept is very much real but the mining is not happening in real in most of them. They use the new users money to pay the old users and it runs like a ponzi in most cases. The only exception is when you personally, physically know the mining operation and you invest your money in them or buy their shares if they are a publicly traded company or you cut a deal with the owner to own some of the company's share.

Rest of the stuff we find on the internet, never spend money on them.

What you wrote sounds more like MLM, as this is how chain marketing works. Until they stop getting new bakra they keep on the money rotation and when new users do not come in they start winding up their business. In this scenario, the user has to onboard other users to make money but with cloud mining, it is not an option. Like any other business, a cloud mining company needs to invest funds in marketing and a lot of money is spent to get new users. These users will be asked to buy hash rate as I have explained earlier.

The price of the hash rate would cover marketing expenses and if a scammer is running it then nothing would be paid but if a genuine mining company is running it they would pay a small amount to the user and keep a large amount with themselves. In most scenarios, they would wind up the business citing that it is no longer profitable to mine the particular cryptocurrency. I agree it is not recommended to invest in cloud mining but what you have explained is not how it is done.
793  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can AI Games Break Through in Crypto? on: January 23, 2024, 01:48:43 PM
To an extent in the current scenario where we can see AI being in the trend, this project could spike. I also believe that in the next bull run AI-based crypto projects will be the ones that will be pumping. In 2021, meme coins were pumped without any actual usage as they were known to be jokes coins in the cryptocurrency universe. I feel just as AI has transformed the business of many industrial niches I believe that these projects would change cryptocurrency as they have the potential to resolve real-world issues. As we can most noncrypto AI projects have been done and it is very real-world projects.
794  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin Rebound This Week on: January 23, 2024, 06:38:27 AM
FTX selling is one of the reasons why Bitcoin price has touched below $40k. Not hearing if the selling will continue for a few more days. In general, Bitcoin tends to go through correction before the halving. That is another reason why Bitcoin is going through a major price change. I doubt it would rebound before the halving. I think it will go up to the level of $35k before it rebounds and moves to green.

Also I remember, one of my friend also got scammed to the cloud mining even when everyone advised him to stay away from cloud mining concept.
Cloud mining is not classifiable under mining, in my opinion. It is always a scam, always. Unless you are investing in a mining corp that actually mines, you are only being a part of a large scale MLM/Ponzi.

The concept of cloud mining is real but it is never came from any legitimate mining farms/pools and the cloud mining scammers usually start their package for very low capital and guarantee returns that is not even possible if we mine our own still some are too blind to see that and fell for it. If I am not wrong still people are falling for cloud mining scam even after all these years.

Yes, the concept of cloud mining is real, but this domain is filled with scammers and scams. The concept is to buy hash rate for a contract period of 1 year or 2 years. Profit is shared on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis. Now, the problem is that there is no transparency with the profit gained and there is a lack of control. It is not advisable to invest in cloud mining as the chance of sudden shutdown of mines is very high.
796  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 23, 2024, 05:10:17 AM
So, Kohli missing in action for the first two tests due to personal reasons is a big blow for India. I hope everything is alright with him and his family and that he joins the team from the third test match. Harry Brookes is also not playing the first three test games due to personal issues. I hope everything is okay with him too and it is still not clear that he will be part of the team in the last two games. Who is going to replace Kohli is a mystery as the team management has not named anyone, but I feel it should be Iyer. He is an aggressive batter that India has for test cricket after Rishab Panth and he can provide the depth that India needs.

snip~~

I am assuming that you have mixed up test cricket with ODI, they both are different forms of cricket and if you do not know about test cricket then do not comment. What do you mean by brave bowlers and batsman, it is not a war that they are going into with India. Grin
797  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: zcash, pirate chain, monero, prcy, which is the best coin for future of privacy? on: January 23, 2024, 04:27:04 AM
For investment purposes and privacy, I would suggest Zcash and Monero as they both are the most reputed privacy coin projects. They both have a strong community and good development and have been in the market for quite some time now. Pirate Chain is a new privacy coin that is working on improving Zcash's privacy model. PRCY as per my understanding is not risky at this point as more details need to be known about the project and the team behind it. I still think investing in a reputed privacy coin makes sense in an altcoin market that is dominated by scams.
798  Local / India / Why is Bitcoin getting dumped after the ETF approval? on: January 23, 2024, 03:47:13 AM
On the contrary, Bitcoin getting pumped it is being dumped after the approvals. It has now gone down by 10%, which for many here won't be big according to Bitcoin standards. The news circulating this fall is that FTX has been selling Grayscale Bitcoin every day. I am not sure about the amount but, I do remember reading that miners sold around 25kBTC. Whereas some are saying that it is natural for Bitcoin to go down before halving and the prediction is that it may go to $35000 before the halving.

What do you think of the reason for Bitcoin price going down? Is it normal for Bitcoin to go through a major correction before halving or it is happening because of Grayscale?

Upcoming test series update:

Virat Kohli won't be part of the first two test match due to personal reason. Harry Brooke has also pulled out of the tour citing personal reason. He is supposed to to join the team for the last two matches. Who do you think will be replacing Virat Kohli and Harry Brooke?
800  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tips for fast investment growth on: January 21, 2024, 02:21:19 PM
I think it's more of a gamble because it's a gamble where you can win or lose with worthless coins.

if you really want to invest, try to at least see who the developer is and what their project is. it would be great if you understand clearly by reading their whitepapper.

Yes reading about a project thorough the whitepaper of a project is a wise decision but most of the people choose a project without touching their whitepaper as a result of which they choose scam project. One should not think that his all choices will be right because we are humans and we will do mistakes on every step but we can overcome these mistakes through proper knowledge and investigation.

Without knowing about creators and Without getting information regarding a project with the help of whitepaper if we select a project then it means that we are really in desire to gamble and are not trading so in such situations now its not our hardwork because our win and loss will totally concerned with the coin future.

Not only without reading the whitepaper, but most novice investors choose to invest in projects that are being widely discussed in the community. They certainly follow several communities on social media or even platforms that provide information regarding crypto asset updates, as well as newly released projects, and prepare their sales.
The simplest thing to look at is partners and collaboration with other platforms. If there is a logo or information related to project collaboration with a large platform, that will be a special attraction. but still, the supporting information must be double-checked to avoid project scams.

How to find out if the whitepaper written is not plagiarized as you guys are so much focused on it. The only thing that makes a new cryptocurrency project unique is it's whitepaper. Now, if anyone is not that into reading a whitepaper won't understand that the paper is plagiarized.

I doubt this is a good idea in an era where scams are so frequent. The easy way to get out of such scams is to go through and understand whether the upcoming crypto project is trending or not.
