Yes - I suppose even if 1000 people signed up for this it wouldn't be worth it after the split. Basically I just wanted to see if there was a way to use their Amazon Elastic MapReduce (Hadoop) service across multiple accounts - to mine LTC's for free... at least for a year. Meh - maybe I will look at bytecoins, haha.

What a year it could be?
This would be my main concern I suppose. "if your application use exceeds the free usage tiers"
|
|
|
AWS, provides a free tier for their EC2. For shitznsuch I setup ./minerd and was able to get about 5 khash/s. Does anyone know how to implement this on a botnet type scale? Is something like this already happening? Anyone want to set up a pool with me on this? It's free

Democracy per head or democracy per coin?
Democracy per coin already has a (somewhat) proven real world method in voting shares for public corporations.

Hey guys Whats the bytecoin reward per block? I can't find the info anywhere.
I read on the internets somewhere that the reward is a general feeling of euphoria and well being.

I've had an idea floating around for a while, either for Bitcoin, or an alt coin, in which a Lamport one-time signature scheme is incorporated into the flow, which would (should) make the coin future proof.
My thoughts so far from the other thead.

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/bitcoin-hacked-price-stumbles-buying-103848677.htmlOnline currency bitcoin had 20 percent knocked off its price overnight on Thursday as one of its major exchanges became the victim of a hacking attack leading to a sell-off in the virtual currency after reaching an all-time high. Uncertainty over other currencies, turmoil in Cyprus and media interest are just some of the reasons commentators are citing for the 360 percent rise in bitcoin prices over the last month. The frenzied interest in bitcoins piled over onto the social media site Twitter and led to a spike in Google searches on the topic.

I've not used that pool, but I'm guessing the calculation is based on the number of shares so far in that round. So - it's a variance type of deal. As your shares increase, it will be closer to your actual hash rate.
|
|
|
That's only like 50,000 BTC's - which is really not that much.

Satoshi develop on window? I would appear so and he also used the term "open source" both of which would eliminate RMS as Satoshi. Maybe Bill Gates is Satoshi???

Are they on riser cables? I've had cables go bad which caused a sudden drop in Kh/s on the card. Obviously could also be the card going bad.

3 hashunit-v1. On left side of hashing unit, just after the fan, I observed lot's of dirt, it means unit has been thoroughly tested for days
I wonder how many BTC's they generate before it is deemed a valid test???

Looks nice!!! At current network rates, you should be able to get about 1 BTC per 10 days 24/7 or so in a pool. One thing to note is that you don't need to have them in SLI unless you're going to play games too. Since you only have two it might make more sense to separate them a bit more for better air flow. It looks like you might be able to get one on the bottom PCIe slot... but I can't tell from the pic. Also, once ASIC's start coming online in force, you're gonna want to either start mining litecoins, or become a gamer

Since this is a CPU miner, can I use my Commodore 64???
|
|
|
As far as Bitcoins' silver is concerned - Litecoin is probably a great investment right now. If/..yes when the day ever comes where ASIC's start making GPU mining a waste of time for BTC mining - I'm guessing that many miners will migrate over to scrypt, rather than close down shop.

How long does it take to receive a BFL unit if ordered right now?
As long as it takes for a tree to make a sound when it falls in the woods.
