Thanks for the replies, I appreciate it.

Are there any legal issues with non-Canadians owning "units"?

What is your definition of a "unit", something akin to a share? as in a share of stock?

Do you have a minimum or maximum investment

Do you have a minimum or maximum investment holding period? i.e. can we day trade the shares? (not that I would but the question came to me, so I thought I would ask for others that may have had the same thought)

How will you handle legal issues in regards to landlord issues that will come up?

Will you allow sub-leases?

If we own "units" can we get a discount on lodging if we want to visit Canada for vacation?

If we own "units" and that land is huntable (can be hunted on)? can we get a discount on hunting or fishing trips? I hear northern Canada has some great hunting and fishing, Salmon, Elk, Deer, etc.

Do "unit" holders get votes on what and where and when will be purchased next?

The idea sounds interesting
we're currently going through the legal hurdles to fully comply with local regulatory agencies, we should be completely ready for investors by august  Shocked

I posted a couple of questions on the description thread.
784  Economy / Securities / Re: [Regulated] Smart Property Investments (SPI) on: July 09, 2013, 10:15:12 PM
Can you share more details about the REIT?
Can you share your business proposal?

What kind of funding do you have or are you capable of raising or have access to?
Will you be relying solely on the capital raised here to fund your operations?

Where will you be purchasing?
Will you be only purchasing in canada? Will you only be purchasing in locations that you are physically near?

What will you be purchasing?
houses, condos, commercial, land, etc., etc.

Will you be renting, leasing or selling these properties or a combination of all 3?

Will the REIT be publicly traded and listed on an exchange? BitFunder, BTCT.CO, TSE(Candian Stock Exchange), CNSX etc, etc.

786  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do we propose Bitcoin to RELIGION? on: July 09, 2013, 09:58:48 PM
You guys are missing the main point here.

Which will adapt to bitcoin?

Obviously, the GOV will "NOT"... our gov are manipulated by CORP...

But what if a "RELIGION" adapts to bitcoin?

A religion does not speaks with/from/to any CORP or any thing related to manipulation... Each religion has its own "BELIEFS" in the way of life...

so if one religion supports CRYPTO-CURRENCY... which is not being made by CORPs/GOVs....

it would be a very good thing... don't you think?

I am talking about "WHO" should adapt to crypto-currency...

GOV VERSUS RELIGION

They both should adapt to bitcoin, why does it have to be "either or"

I think you missed my point though, I do not want religion or government to be associated with bitcoin, see my previous points about this topic.
787  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do we propose Bitcoin to RELIGION? on: July 09, 2013, 09:37:01 PM
We should be associated with her noodlyness however Smiley

Yea, I ordered on the 18th, so I'm not too sure I will wait that long, maybe till the 30th of July tops, but that is highly dependent on how forthcoming they are on the information part of things.

This is the biggest problem I see here, they could easily pay someone minimum wage / part-time and have them do nothing but give updates on what's going on and what progress they are making... As bad as BFL is, I have to admit I'd rather have a rude ass chick like BFL_Jody pissing me off in the daily update any day over,  silence....

Terrahash... I hope you are paying attention to the forum. I mean its only business you are losing I guess...?  Embarrassed

Less then minimum wage with Amazon mechanical turk:

789  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 40 nm ASIC coming, designed by those claiming to be behind the scene of Avalon on: July 09, 2013, 09:17:01 PM
You guys should really take a look at those photos.

Now a new team claims that they will be designing 40 nm ASIC chips. They even claim that Yifu outsourced the design of Avalon to them, with those photos:

http://www.btcman.com/bbs/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=4621&extra=page%3D1&page=4

So are these millions of chips manufactured 40nm node?
According to post #9:
"These are just the same pics as the current avalons, check the serial nums, I see no difference..:

BUT: If the airbill trace above is correct, then these photos were taken in the last two weeks.

Whether these chips are bound for machines yet to be assembled, or bound for chip sales, I can't believe YiFu can be happy about this information having become public.

You might want to consider taking terrahash off this list and onto the possible scam category.
791  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do we propose Bitcoin to RELIGION? on: July 09, 2013, 09:05:03 PM
I mean seriously guys...

what do you think the effect if for example: Catholic.

"The POPE uses Bitcoin"

The gov cant touch that... Smiley

I personally think it would be a shame for bitcoin to be associated with religion, no wars have been started over bitcoin, no crusades have been waged over bitcoin, nobody has been murdered in the name of bitcoin, bitcoin doesn't hate fags, bitcoin hasn't fondled little boys, bitcoin hasn't raped little boys, should I go on?

Well, I know for sure that there are at least 3: the WV twins, and ... me.

The winklevii didn't do it in secret though so they are out, also are they billionaires?
796  Other / Off-topic / [POLL] How many Billionaires have secretly invested in Bitcoin? on: July 09, 2013, 05:32:48 PM
Most of us here think that bitcoin is a great idea, (I happen to think it is the idea of the century in one form or another), put together all of us have spent millions of dollars perhaps 100's of millions of dollars on bitcoin and bitcoin related services and goods etc. VC's are spending money on bitcoin as well, with coinbase being the largest that I have heard of with a 6MM+ round.

With that said, how many billionaires do you think have secretly invested in bitcoin in some way or another?

Happy voting! and feel free to post your thoughts.

Edit: (added count of billionaires)

As of 2013 there are 1,426 billionaires[1] in the world.

You might want to try coinbase, you can hook your bank account right to it and buy and sell btc at your leisure. I have been using them for months now with no problem.

They are US based
Big VC funded/backed
MSB registered -- MT registered as well.

See funding in bottom left (6MM+ raised so far, according to some media outlets this is the largest vc funding of a bitcoin related startup to date)

MSB Lic:

Type coinbase in the legal name box and press enter

MIT's Immersion project sifts your Gmail, and constructs a map of your associations. Without opening a single message, it gives a clear view of who you connect with. It's a glimpse of some of what the NSA PRISM can do. From the article: 'You can assume that if the NSA is looking at your email, the information in Immersion is similar to what they will see. Consider that they probably see all of your email addresses (and not just Gmail) and that the metadata is examined along with the metadata from everyone you’ve corresponded with, and you can see just how much can be inferred from this data alone.

Start a Terrahash refund thread and GTFO!!!

no thanks, I think I will stick to this one, so that other people don't get scammed by TerraHash.

Yes because another thread focusing on that would not serve your purpose.

BTCEIC is claiming that this is a scam based on no evidence.

What he has is fear, uncertainty and doubt.

We have evidence of chip orders, evidence of prototype, forthcoming evidence of working prototype,
evidence of money spent on cases and PCB manufacturing.

What BTCEIC has is loss of confidence in TH because they have crap customer service and no other tangible evidence so ignore him as he now has no skin in this game.

Ask someone who has an order with TH and not lost their stomach for the process and is cashing out.

Never take risk advice from someone not willing to take a risk.

And let me guess, you are defending them because you bought with BTC and have no choice but to wait?

I am sorry for your potential loss I really am but how can you have any confidence in this company?

Nope, paid with Paypal backed by a credit card.

It's called risk aversion.

You probably paid with Paypal, backed by your checking account and the mortgage came due on 7/1

You didn't answer my question.

edit: you bought bitcoin with debt? and your calling me out? all the best to you.
800  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-07-08 Announcing Jon Matonis as Executive Director of Bitcoin Foundation on: July 09, 2013, 12:33:08 AM
Anyone else but a radical. Ideal I would like to see a more of a business type take the helm. I really think the foundation was started way too young and is actually hurting the bitcoin theory of decentralization. I think once we had more decentralization, then we have a foundation to be a 3rd party to all them.

History isn't made by the meek and cowardly. It is written by those willing to take risks - including calling the current system on its bullshit and double-dealing. There's a new sheriff in town, and his name is Bitcoin. Currency bandits better clear out of town.

Reminds me of this:

Quote
Here's To The Crazy Ones. The misfits. The rebels. The trouble-makers. The round pegs in the
square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules, and they have
no respect for the status-quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify, or vilify them.
About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the
human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.
Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world - are the ones who do!

Congrats to Jon
