7801  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 🐦[INFOGRAPHIC] A Simple Guide to Merits and Rankings for Newbies. 🐦 on: January 31, 2019, 06:56:19 AM
For those cases, I known it well.
In another topic, it is well known that there are several local moderators who can wear avatar, even when they are still newbies.
It's not a bug of forum, at all.. You are wrong!

So what you're trying to tell me is that everybody wearing avatar that are not full member rank above are moderators? I don't think so. I think (correct me if I'm wrong) some users their account were created before the new Avatar rule was implemented can still wear their avatar irrespective of their ranks as in the past all ranks can wear avatar.

The users wearing avatar and their account were created in 2018 which aren't moderators there isn't an official statement on why they can wear those avatar,
So we have two low ranked accounts with avatars which is logically impossible since they both joined after the merit system has been introduced.
Also LoyceV noticed this:
Quote
Do you have any idea why your profile says you have 0 posts, and your post history shows 3 posts? It seems to be a glitch in the forum software.
this is why i said it's a bug until we get an explanation why those accounts can wear avatar.

Good information. So i need to be Full Member before having profile picture feature?
yeap, you have too two options:
- Making your efforts and self-promoting to a Full Member;
- Buying a Copper Membership, will give some priveledges, except wearing avatar.

You're still wrong.  The user isn't asking for image in post,  he's asking for profile picture (avatar) therefore he only has one option for now which is to rank up to full memeber.
7802  Other / Meta / Re: This seems a ban Evader on: January 31, 2019, 05:06:57 AM
Hello @coinlocket$, hope you know there's a faster way to do this.  Just click the report to moderator button on his ban evasion post and drop a comment informing the moderator that user just committed "ban evasion" then add a link to his ban appeal post and within minutes/days user will be banned.
I have used this method severally and it works just fine. You can keep a tab on account monitoring it until it's banned.

You're wrong. A user can only upload profile picture (avatar)  when s/he ranks up to full member and above. The copper membership only comes with some privilege as the member rank like wearing signature, uploading image in text and not uploading an avatar. Those lower rank users you see with avatar are does who were wearing one before the implementation of the new Avatar rule and others might be bug from the system  (theymos still yet to address this issue)
7804  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Infographic]: Guide on possible reasons to leave a -ve/+ve trust feedbacks. on: January 31, 2019, 04:25:07 AM
You can see that Artermis3 made it clearer with BBcode. I think you should use this one rather than your infographics.

Thanks for your suggestion but as you can see before you,  no one have complained of not seeing the infograph instead they all have been admitting of reading it clearly and airing their views on some reason they disagree with.  I just updated the infograph with this
Note: If you can't see the image clearly, CLICK HERE to read the contents in formal text.
so I believe that possible problem of other users not been able to read the infograph have been solved.
7805  Other / Meta / Re: Why my thread has been moved to Off-Topic ?? on: January 30, 2019, 10:07:38 PM
I was misunderstood. Lets call it a day. Just to clear things up,  the reporting of giveaway thread to be moved were done in September 2018. I gave that example to make OP understand that when a merit related threads gets reported normally it's moved to off-topic. Also the earlier giveaway thread are OK that's why I even have to do a list so user can access them easily. All I'm saying is the B&H board shouldn't be a hunting ground for giveaways so we can have more room for other discussion. Other boards can be used to host the giveaways and those interested will get a update from Active givewaways threads
7806  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Misuse of the quote button on: January 30, 2019, 08:13:28 PM
OP maybe you need to add this quote as a motivation for those spam quoting to stop. I advocate keeping good posting record and knowing how to quote post is one of them.

Here's the quote:
What you guys don't seem to realise is that volume readers, such as merit sources, don't have the time to read long posts, unless they are interesting of course. If I see a post with a long quote, or a quote pyramid, then I just skip to the next post, so  the poster does't get his post read. This may be fine if you are a bounty spammer, and you don't care if nobody reads your comments, but if you are after merits, then you are killing your chances.
7807  Other / Meta / Re: Why my thread has been moved to Off-Topic ?? on: January 30, 2019, 07:37:38 PM
Here is the problem I find with this part of your post that I quoted. You are saying that merit threads should not be allowed in the B&H but your topic advertising those threads should be allowed.

Let me explain with an example when the new one merit requirement was implemented for jnr member accounts, it affected every jnr member right?  Both spammer and decent poster. Now after you created your thread it attracted others, both those with selfish intentions and those willing to help. So as mods can't differentiate between them, moving those topic off the B&H will be the best option irrespective of the OP's intention. Mods have been doing this for sometime now. I'm not saying givewaways threads are bad but when it take up space for more productive disscussion it should be moved to a less productive board.  Remember participates just need to post links and no need for discussion therefore they can follow the link in my updated giveaways thread and post a link to a post they feel desire merit. One or two can be left on the board and others moved to other boards.

This way the B&H will have more room for disscussion. by the way I think these giveaways threads drives away merit source searching for merited posts on the board since they'll feel the givewaways got the board covered. And most of them might put the board on ignore since they don't encourage givewaways threads (just like jet cash) and the B&H boards are filled with them.

Edit:
Giveaways threads...intentions are to recieve merit...without actually giving away merit as they claimed when starting threads. I did the Active giveaway thread...
...I have reported other giveaways thread ...I believe all merit giveaway should be in the off-topic. Then an update like the one i created can be in B&H...

So you are reporting these threads to keep them away, thus, your thread can get more merits!! This is really a selfish act.

Please don't edit my replies and miss quote me. The last time I reported a giveaway was Sept 2018 and they all got moved to off-topic. Like I said I'm not against any giveaways and haven't reported any of recent. I'm even in support of them but when they become too many on a particular board, it'll distract the board participates so moving them to other board will be the best option.

Besides my earned merit aren't dominanted by my giveaway update thread so it's doing me no good, I didn't do it to get merits instead I did it so other can benefit as I benefited from the Report to Merit source initialtive
7808  Other / Meta / Re: Why my thread has been moved to Off-Topic ?? on: January 30, 2019, 06:08:42 PM
Why i can't see it in my post history? (you can see them in my post history but am not allowed to)

When you have a particular board on ignore, it will be completely inaccessible to you, that means your previous post written or moved to that board won't show in your post history until you un-ignore the board from your Ignore Boards Preferences settings.

I don't think there is a valid reason to move my topic.
<***>
I will also close this thread tonight (may be someone want to say something about)

Most merit related threads are moved to off-topic when they become numerous in meta and B&H. Beside you can carryout your givewaway from any board so why lock topic if truly you wanted to help members which their quality posts are been missed by meriters. Your thread is already in my active merit giveaway topic so no matter the board it's been moved to you can still carryout your giveaways and get participates from the B&H board.
7809  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be careful of not getting red-tags by advertising a known scam in your signature on: January 30, 2019, 05:23:55 PM
But once you are online the last active that will show is 'Today at...' so how do they know the last time you are up?

Simple, the last time you posted before you came back online and became active again will be used as the last time you were active on forum. You can find that by visiting profile, scroll down and you'll see "Show the last posts of this person" check the date and time posts was made before that day (day viewing the profile)
7810  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be careful of not getting red-tags by advertising a known scam in your signature on: January 30, 2019, 03:27:57 PM
I have one question in mind.

Is it considerable if someone's been away for a week not touching his account and within that timeframe the signature campaign he's been wearing is being accused as scammer. After getting back from his account he received a negative trust from a DT member, can he prove it that he's been away around that time and too late to know that the campaign he joined is scam?

You can always appeal a red tag because only the user that gave the red tag can removed them except on rare occasions administrators interval and remove false tags. You just have to send the DT member a DM politely explaining yourself and if he doesn't give you a positive respond then you can start a thread on the Reputation board to defend yourself with valid evidence.

How do they do it? Is there a log for all accounts that we can actually check publicly or only moderator/staffs can access it?

Your activities are made public on your profile. The last day you were active (login) or made a post can be seen from your profile. That's were the information are gotten from.
7811  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Infographic]: Guide on possible reasons to leave a -ve/+ve trust feedbacks. on: January 30, 2019, 03:15:07 PM
Honestly, I think it will be better if you present your contents in formal text, rather than infographics.
The infographics is hard to see, and space-consumed.

It could be because of your mobile phone screen, have you tried zooming the image?  Also you can view image from the direct link or use this code to make image bigger
Code:
[IMG width=200]https://i.imgur.com/tQVi7tz.jpg[/img]
Change 200 to a bigger number when writing a reply and preview then you'll get a bigger image
7812  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: How do I report a scammer? Scam alert: Azudealer/Mailer White/azudealer2018 on: January 30, 2019, 12:25:08 PM
If you leave someone with a -ve rep and he/she does the same in retaliation, can the mods remove it?

The trust system isn't moderated the only way a red tag can be removed is by appealing with the user that tagged you to removed the tag. Although administrator can interval in some special (serious) cases and remove the tag if necessary when it's a false one.

Note: Not every negative feedback you get contributes to you trust score, some will be seen as "Untrusted feedback" depending on the viewers custom trust list settings.

To understand more visit thread below and read through this paragraph:

The moment you start leaving negative feedbacks on other users accounts, you'll make enemies and probably get false red tags so you have to read these quotes on how false negative feedback (red tags) can be handled

7813  Other / Meta / Re: Please could somebody start a forum for banned members. on: January 30, 2019, 09:50:04 AM
We already have a forum for them, they're free to join Altcoinstalks.org they aren't bitcointalk worthy😂 .
7814  Other / Meta / Re: Why my thread has been moved to Off-Topic ?? on: January 30, 2019, 09:32:12 AM
Then please, give me a simple reason to be reported and a simple reason for how the moderator acted with the report.

Giveaways threads are now been started in the numbers and most intentions are to recieve merit from other supporting users without actually giving away merit as they claimed when starting threads. I did the Active giveaway thread to support users, looking for those giveaway thread for their quality post that must have been missed.

I can't remember reporting your thread but I have reported other giveaways thread and they were moved to the off-topic board. I believe all merit giveaway should be in the off-topic and local board. Then an update like the one i created can be in B&H board to help those users interested for easy navigation. The B&H board is getting crowded by givewaways threads which isn't heathly for the board.
7815  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Does Trump really need to change his looks, to be taken seriously?. on: January 30, 2019, 09:17:38 AM

First, I thought this thread was another Trump bashing thing so didn't read it but now I have and you have a serious point.

Yes it would help his "image and presentation."

But he's campaigned against many who were all image and all presentation and beat them all.

😂 when ever you see my post on trump, just know it's a discussion for his benefit. I'm not one of those anti-trump users. I have been a fan from day one although when I see some wrong I don't support them. I just wish we had a trump in our country. I want him to change his look and other stuffs too so people can start taking him seriously
7816  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be careful of not getting red-tags by advertising a known scam in your signature on: January 30, 2019, 07:47:13 AM
Thanks to this thread, I only noticed how serious DD's scam was. But I feel it's unfair for those unaware to be suddenly red-tagged.

Don't think participates will be tagged immediately a project is proven to be scam. Just as this user suggested
Participants should be given a window of time to remove their signatures before we tag anyone there. Warnings have been sent from a couple of you, So I think 48-72 hours is a fair amount of time for users to log in and read what's going on in the campaigns thread and here.

An active campaign participant needs to be active at least once in every 24hours and should always visit the campaigns OP at least once in every 48-72 hours to check for possible updates. Although I suggest one week interval before anyone wearing the signature gets tagged since most campaign managers update their thread for payment and open slots weekly and that's when participate check for updates.

Congratulations CryptopreneurBrainboss!

Thank you for the congratulation, since you need a personal comment here is mine. As an average poster I can testify that the merit system truly  works, average posters can rank up too.  It isn't a must to be a merit analysis or DT specialist to recieve merits. As far you're adding value to the forum the little ways you can, you'll start receiving your rewards the moment you get noticed, so don't stop.

Here's a link to my self congratulation thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5098486.0
7818  Other / Meta / Re: Contradictory rules, account sell VS merit sell. On addition trust view to guest on: January 30, 2019, 04:20:23 AM
<***>
Out of curiosity, what would the basis be for giving negative trust to someone receiving merit? Someone could be selling merit privately, get caught and have given merit to an innocent person. Or, someone could make a person look bad by giving merit when they are a known merit salesman.

If a merit seller is busted, negative tag should be given to the accounts involved in that transaction. Then a little more investigation can be carried out and neutral tages can be given to those users that have receive huge number of merit for a shitpost from the merit seller (could be possible buying and since no evidence of transaction a warning is perfect )  but if you see a quality post recieve merit from the seller, that account shouldn't be tag because we don't have a limit to merit amount rewards on quality posting.

The question now should be, how do you know if it's shitpost. If you see such post and you aren't sure them open a thread on the reputation board and other experience members will assist in the investigation.

At a glance, it looked legit until I checked the profile and oh, a spambot.

I don't understand, how did it look legit when the reply was off topic and contains a link promoting and exchange? Anyways the user just help me increase my good reports counts and maybe I could own that Reporters badge if implemented.
7820  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be careful of not getting red-tags by advertising a known scam in your signature on: January 29, 2019, 10:24:50 PM
There's a solution for almost every problem on the forum. Before you dedicate your time to promote a project by wearing their signature a little search will prevent you from promoting scam projects.
For investors and bounty hunters, I will suggest to visit Scam Accusation board before join any bounty or before invest on ICO.

You could also find scam ICO from Guidelines, how to spot a scam ICO & report effectively by yourself to help community.

Eventually is you are much busy than simply you can use Google search. Since Bitcointalk is good ranking on Google, you will find easily if there is any scam accusation. And lot of scam exposer active on bitcointalk lately. I will give example how to search.

For example you want to join bounty or invest on Metiercoin ICO. Just you have to type on google search "Metiercoin Bitcointalk" than you will see below page.

You can also search in this manner
site:bitcointalk.org metiercoin (for this example). Google will then search bitcointalk.org for threads about metiercoin. This is also an easy way to find the ANN or Bounty page of a project you might be interested in.

Here is the result:
