i have a question for the palindrome suffix. is it not the same difficulty to get a suffix for a bitcoin address as it is for the prefix?
meaning there should be better vanity addresses for that longest palindrome than what you listed there.

Yeah the difficulty is the same but the problem is you need to use regex and the -r option doesn't work with the OCL version.  You're limited to using CPU only which is a lot slower than the GPU.
7802  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Etehereum ATM (coming to your neighborhood soon?) on: March 12, 2016, 02:42:04 PM
They did nothing for Bitcoin. Why on Earth would they do anything for ETH?

Yeah the first time I used a bitcoin ATM was a bit of a let down.  I mean I was pumped and I videoed the affair but after I had to let the machine take a picture of my ID and give it my phone number, create an account, fund the account, buy the coins and finally withdraw the coins from the account.  I could have left the coins in the account but I needed the phone number (which was a throw away) to get a 2FA pin in order to withdraw... it was only slightly less cumbersome than opening a bank account. Undecided

Yeah that's just sad on so many levels.  Somebody should report you to the Yobit admin with the hope that they'd kick you out of their campaign for sullying their name by association.

New day. same shit. Hackers are back, what is worse, he is in denial about the hackers. I will NOT bring this shit up today when we go out as he is MAD.

OMFG he verbally abused Mum over shit like this! Thankfully he never hit her. OMFG he was FIT TO BE TIED! I will wait a few days and ask Mum when

to ask him the tiniest question unless expressly allowed. He has anger problem as well.

Rather than wait a few days, why don't you just e-mail your dad a link to a site like this which might help him understand what's going on and possibly fix it himself:

https://malwaretips.com/blogs/remove-tech-support-scam-popups/

You are right about a tight budget for me. I AM on a tight budget and FORTUNATELY can fix my own damn

computer w/o help, most often of an expensive technician. I have actually NEVER called a technician for

computer difficulties for YEARS. And so, I have learned how to fix computers MYSELF and on a small budget.

Small wonder I was so irate. I couldn't believe he was not trusting my mum's or my opinion on the matter.

Stubborn old coot.

So mad, I don't know if he actually deserves to loose the 770 charged on the MC or not. I really am annoyed

to the point of no longer giving a damn.

I think because he was being crypitc about how he and whether he ACTUALLY charged the MC was a way of his

being embarrassed over what had happened. He would not admit to this and Mum had to get it all out to me. I just felt

worse by dad's attempts at hiding this part. That is what made it so much worse.

Well it's never easy to admit you've been duped and many people will go to great lengths to avoid embarrassment.  Nobody deserves to get scammed but it seems there's no end to the number of scammers out there.
7806  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Rare address hall of fame on: March 11, 2016, 06:10:21 PM
So these are vanity addresses? what's so special about them? You can generate almost any address if you have enough computing bower...

lol "computing bower..."  nice sig count post.

Pattern: 1GetLost
Address: 1GeTLoSTmhPELeJftFk5zQLv7am9xKZ5Aq
Privkey: 5JJZ5kJHaBSzj4eKNXmzSUoWhb1quyT2aBwnom398VHNchyk9dZ

Vanity addresses are pretty cool Wink

homer, you are the one who doesn't realize that people can be on a budget-tight as hell.

you are not helping matters any by indicating that it is cheap.

Because, for them it isn't. The idea for rolluptherimtowin was novel, though.

I could not believe Dad fell for the scam. Mum fortunately saw through it and got him to go

to Best Buy to get convinced.  Dad relented and found out the truth. I couldn't have felt more

                                                              VINDICATED!

I stand by my assertation that $600 is a cheap education; it wasn't my intention to harm or help your situation with that statement but simply to put it in context.  My main point to you was that you needed to calm down.  People wont listen to a raving maniac no matter how true their words.  I'm glad things worked out for the best; it seems like your mom is the voice of reason and the calming influence in your family but isn't that generally the case?

7808  Other / Off-topic / Re: Fuck sakes, my 78 yr old dad fell for the biggest scam evar -NEW Update TODAY! on: March 11, 2016, 05:10:04 PM
Tell your parents not to keep anything they can't handle losing on their PC.
And maybe teach them how to put pictures on a USB drive etc.
Chances are that is the only valuable on the PC aside from Credentials.

THEN.. tell them be careful but if anything happens ?
Do nothing !
YOU will come over to their house and re-install Windows etc on their machines fresh.

Mine are pretty damn savvy.. i am lucky.
And they also know the go to method is to re-install Windows.. and they do all on their own.

EDIT:
Homer you said...
"$600 CAD is a pretty cheap education"

BULLSHIT !

What if his senior parents are on a tight budget ?
$600 could be a massive beating.. a lot of people just wouldn't have it !
OR be able to get it in 7 days..

Not everyone is made of money rich kid.

Yeah, it's possible but not probable that a 78 year old Canadian who bought a computer, pays for internet and can take his wife and kid out for a coffee is on that tight a budget and if he was, he would have balked at paying $600 over the phone via credit card to have his computer fixed.  Sounds more like OP is on a tight budget since the thought of his dad forking over that kind of cash made him want to go around hitting random people...

Oh, I'm not a kid Wink

7809  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin for transatlantic flights - safe? on: March 11, 2016, 04:10:32 AM
https://www.expedia.com/Flights try them.

A guy was telling about some days back that he booked his vacation through them and they use coinbase to accept Bitcoins and with them you can at-least book with confidence.

Thank you!  I thought expedia only allowed you to pay for hotels with bitcoin; I will have another look at them.  They certainly seem to be trustworthy enough.

Edit:  In terms of airline ticket purchases, Expedia acts as an agency, passing on payment information to the majority of airliners. Similarly to 'pay-later' hotels, in these cases, Expedia can only accept the payment types accepted by the airline.  So I have to cross Expedia off the list ;(
7810  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin for transatlantic flights - safe? on: March 11, 2016, 04:08:12 AM
I like the concept of paying with bitcoin but two things pop up for me. One being that you are connecting a address to you physically. Not a issue for some but defeats the Anon factor.
Second would be explaining bitcoin in a secondary search. "How did you pay for this ticket?"
"Did you purchase this yourself?"..."Whats this bitcoin"!

Less I need to potentially explain the better. If you think its not a big deal, would argue you have never had the arm of the law twisting words.

Thanks.  You bring up some interesting points.  Anonymity isn't a major concern of mine; I'm of the opinion that few really care who I am anyway (although I have avoided using Facebook, Twitter etc. since I do enjoy a modicum of privacy).  I haven't had to go through a secondary search or even deal with the arm of the law other than a for a couple of minor traffic infractions so I'm inexperienced on that front.
7811  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin for transatlantic flights - safe? on: March 11, 2016, 02:30:19 AM
Thanks for the reply.  From what I have already read, cheapair.com has customer service via telephone but there are extremely long waits and people are getting cut off.
What I'm really interested in is hearing from people who have actually used bitcoin to purchase flights to Europe from North America, what company they used and if they were satisfied.
Air LOT (Polish airline) accepts bitcoin now and I will use this if I get no other information as with them I have no worries about getting my tickets.  I prefer to use KLM, Lufthansa, Air France and British Airways(only because Heathrow is a pain-in-the ass airport w.r.t to security delays); in that order but I need a reliable agent that accepts bitcoin.
7812  Economy / Marketplace / Bitcoin for transatlantic flights - safe? on: March 11, 2016, 12:17:16 AM
I've looked at btctrip.com and cheapair.com for flights from North America to Europe but I don't get a good feeling about using them.
I mean btctrip.com has a testimonial from Satoshi - now this may be tongue in cheek but it doesn't do much for my confidence transacting with them; it reeks of scam when I see "testimonials".  Also, I have read some bad reviews about customer service from cheapair.com but their "testimonial" page oozes unicorns and rainbows.  I would really like to use bitcoin for airfare and not be left in limbo when I get to the airport.  Does anyone have any experience/recommendations in this regard?  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
7813  Other / Off-topic / Re: Fuck sakes, my 78 yr old dad fell for the biggest scam evar -NEW Update TODAY! on: March 10, 2016, 11:55:51 PM
Actually, $600 CAD is a pretty cheap education.  I think my niece paid $10k CAD for her first year of university in Canada - that might have included a residence fee though... not sure.
My parents are the same when it comes to computers, they try to learn but it's totally foreign to them.  If I happen to be angry about it when something happens, I do my best not to show it because if you curse and stomp around, they're not going to call you and ask you for help when they need it.  You are essentially setting the stage for a recurrence by way of your actions.  Calm the fuck down.  If you live in Canada, $600 is SFA.

Edit: Set them up a couple of accounts on rollluptherim; maybe they can win it back from Timmy's.

7815  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Awesome Bitcoin Addresses !! on: March 07, 2016, 06:18:57 PM
I would like to point out that all Bitcoin addresses are unique.  Imagine the ensuing chaos if they were not.

ie. this address: 1GANGPLanKRmMs21v7vEDq8caFBWNezZU7 and this address: 18tpKtxZkW6uLixo512CWrVKqgKfyqMCwu
are both unique.

Do you pay for your electricity usage or is it included in your rent?

7818  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Kicking Myself I Didn't Invest More In Ethereum on: March 05, 2016, 01:33:55 PM
Anyone else kicking themselves they didn't invest more of their hard earned fiat/bitcoins into Ethereum when they were $0.50?

After repeated IPO scams, I was skeptical about Ethereum and did not invest last year.

before one word was uttered about ETH anywhere.. blocks of coins were moving from the IPO
aprox a Million dollars worth.

you guys think your smart ?

Tell me then what does that tell you ?

@Stoat
Your a noob / dummy account shilltard (prob user tokeweed)
you hang our harping on ETH trying to appeal to teens wanting profits.
Your like a drug dealer selling to kids.. i have no respect for you coward hiding behind a dummy account.

You also have never maned up and addressed any concerns that are brought up..
You simply post more fluff.. comments with no real substance.. garbage posts. (this your MO)

A perfect example ?
After my last comment on this topic.. you said i was jealous "sour grapes"
Did you think that was a smart retort ?
Did you think it will be effective to dismiss what i said ?
AND.. DID you think you made that one up ?
LOL i should do a little highlight reel showing how many scam coin pushers accused me of being jealous.
uhhmm it's been a LOOOOT
You shitcoin'ers have a simple play book with your usual classic go to retorts.
And guess what ?
None of them have ever worked before so uhhh get it ?

@Stoat, your a little fucking coward hiding your shitcoin skeletons in your closet.
Using a dummy account here to advertise and hype up ETH as much as you can.
If i had access to your history here you would be fucked and YOU know it Wink

HIDE COWARD.

You're such an idiot.

That is all

He may be callous, disagreeable and occasionally offensive but he is no idiot.

7819  Economy / Services / Re: Vanity Address on: March 04, 2016, 09:31:03 PM
What exactly do you agree with?  At first I thought you meant patronizing Shorena but then you say you'll do it for free?
I agree that legendary member Shorena is a. cheaper and b. sounds much more reliable.

Quote
It's not possible as your time and electricity are worth money.
It's just fun Smiley

Well,  in fact, nobody said Shorena was cheaper.  As for the fun part, what happens when you're running a 24/7 operation tying up one computer and all your "free" time?.  It will no longer be fun but you'll be stuck making free addresses so as not to risk a negative rep!  It's a slippery slope offering free services. Wink
7820  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Kicking Myself I Didn't Invest More In Ethereum on: March 04, 2016, 09:23:38 PM
You could say the same thing about any of another 200 altcoins out there but you probably would have lost your shirt.  You could have shorted many other the other alts and achieved the same end result.  Why not dream about that too?

This thread is just meant to be a bit of lighthearted fun. Don't take everything so seriously.

Kicking one's self doesn't seem like light-hearted fun to me but I'll try to fit in.  I'm kicking myself for not running for president of the USA this year given the challengers! Lol
