Big names reporting earnings this week. Apple, Amazon, Facebook, Microsoft, Tesla, & Google are all set to repot. Could they have some news about expanding balance sheets or positive comments about accepting Bitcoin in the future? With the price action already this week you know they’ll be asked about it. I think we could see the groundwork laid for some fireworks.

I don't like the idea of any tribes and having fans in forum
You are not alone. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) I have noticed that the idea of fans tends to be a touchy subject around here with some people. Disclaimer: No fans were harmed in the making of this post but content may harm the feelings of non-fans lacking a well established sense of humor.

I think big business is figuring out that if they support Bitcoin, then Bitcoiners might suddenly have a lot of money to spend on their products. What businesses would take in more money from Bitcoiners having a ton of extra money suddenly than Amazon and Tesla? Not to mention once Elon got billions in Bitcoin, Bezos couldn’t risk being left behind. It’s really only a matter of time before all billionaires and tech companies put BTC on their balance sheet as so not to lose a competitive edge.

Bitcoin price go up. Me likely.
It will be great to look at the liquidation data tomorrow. I hope there are still some bears left. There’s a long way up still to go. With the 50 day SMA now behind us I expect we’ll see some big names entering the market who view that as the all clear sign.

Very cool. Congratulations! That's a great accomplishment. I was unaware your site was such a famous faucet, so maybe I need to start stacking those sats! I love that you offer a wide range of coins to trade as well and look forward to continuing to watch this project grow. If you ever want to do something strange and unique, I've got some ideas. Feel free to drop me a PM if you need something to spend your free time developing and I'd be happy to help. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

The media is really pulling out all the stops with this nonsense. Once they started saying you’d get erectile distinction unless you take the vaccine I stopped paying attention completely. The saying you’d die when you weren’t at risk was one thing, offering lotteries as bribes was another… But the ridiculousness of some of these articles is getting out of hand.

The only altcoins I have are coins I’m using for something. There are some unique services that are only offered by certain blockchains and are unable to be done on Bitcoin’s blockchain. I don’t believe in buying coins just for the greater fool theory, but if you believe in the blockchain there is good reason to support it.

Since making this thread Namecoin has been discovered to have had the first NFT minted on it, and it’s market cap has actually fallen to around $15 million dollars. Currently ranked #641 out of all cryptos. Pretty amazing really. I still believe Namecoin is the most undervalued altcoin, even if it is viewed only as a collectible these days. So long as it’s continued to be mined by a majority of Bitcoin mining pools, it remains one of the few bargains in crypto.

Is there any tangible reason why binance exchange is been hunted? It seems they just hate success or what? Anyways no matter what they try CZ is a determined fellow, that's why binance made it this far, it's my best exchange and won't be changing any time soon
They've since the beginning operated in an illegal way, but stayed ahead of enforcement while awaiting clarification of laws. We've in the US seen Binance basically disappear, as I don't think Binance.us is ever run by the same company. Now I see that Binance is being restricted from trading US stock tokens. I'm surprised they had the balls to ever offer this to be honest, and I think it's an awesome development, but CZ and Binance have tested their limits and now they have to back down from regulators and see what they're going to be allowed to maintain going forward. Also, people in crypto hate centralization and Binance has built the most centralized and groundbreaking company in crypto. Their use of the BNB token is something that will likely be studied in economics and business classes for decades to come.

I'm sure the vaccine isn't hiding anything crazy that is going to magnetize people or any other said nonsense. I don't believe people do things maliciously just to be evil for the most part. I'm more concerned about the president it sets going forward. We went from locking down so hospitals wouldn't be overwhelmed to wanting people to get special passports to walk around outside. Not to mention we're probably going to create superbugs that really will kill people and will get around vaccinations through mutations or some other way.
In short... I'm not worried about the vaccine and I'm sure it can be trusted to do what it says it does. I am terrified my government will hold me prisoner if I refuse to receive a vaccine. I'm also worried all these people getting vaccinated are going to create a superbug that might kill me someday. The shot's contents and effects though, that's not a big concern for me.

I think Elon's take was very practical and something that is perhaps lost on many without business experience in the Bitcoin community. There is a problem with block congestion that hasn't been addressed well with a layer-1 solution. From Tesla's perspective, they're fine with people storing a certain amount of their funds on Coinbase and using Coinbase to make everyday transactions with vendors. That's a solution that works for them. It isn't ideal for Bitcoin, but for many businessman this is a better solution than using a second layer because there is accountability instead of trust.

I just pulled the trigger on an S19. I was planning to plug it in instead of my dryer on the 220 outlet. I notice it has two power inputs. How are people powering these in the US?
I don't think too many people are using these in the US in their residences. The ones that do I would assume have a custom power setup they've installed specifically for mining. Let us know how it goes if you do choose to follow philipma1957's advice and purchase those 3 items to make your dryer plug work for your S19. Thanks philipma1957 for the advice on parts. Have you tried to do such a thing with your home's dryer connection?

I'm seeing friends around the country having luck walking into Best Buys and grabbing them off the shelves. If you live in an area that is away from big cities and happens to have a Best Buy nearby, it might be worth contacting them to find out when they're getting more stock, and then waiting around for it. They limit buyers to 1 card but some cards have a $1000+ premium at the moment so it's probably worth the effort and maybe bring a friend or two along.

Any chance we'll have an opportunity to place bets on the upcoming Little League World Series games? I've got a team I've been watching that I might like to place some money on. Plus, who doesn't love watching Little League World Series games? Something to consider. If given the opportunity, I would be willing to participate. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

I've got both the gold highlighted and all silver rounds. They are not slabbed though. I left them in their original plastic capsules that they were received in directly from Casascius which have never been opened (I have the original display boxes as well). Feel free to PM me an offer or make your purchase price known in the thread. Here's some eye candy showing the intact holograms, as I believe this is the last picture I took of them. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Ftalkimg.com%2Fimages%2F2024%2F01%2F11%2FseYUw.jpeg&t=663&c=x11YfYVSp5R27w) click to immerse yourself in every detail...

Very cool to see binary code minted onto these coins. I didn't see a conversion listed anywhere on the sales page or this thread, so I went ahead and popped the 1's and 0's into a converter. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the binary code, which is: 01110011 01100001 01110100 1101111 01110011 01101000 01101001 reads as, "satoshi" once translated.

The only thing that matters is the content and how supportive the community is. If there isn’t educational content or anyone working together on anything, this site is useless. Building a community that can work together to build on Bitcoin and educate others should be the only focus as that is all that matters for Bitcoin’s sake.

Any sites taking bets on who will be the NBA Finals winner next year? I’d like to take a look at the odds. I’d probably be willing to place bets on the Lakers winning the west and the Nets winning the east at this point. I think they’ll both get their injury issues taken care of with this longer offseason and come back next year ready to go for a ring.

I personally find NFTs unethical. People who create a digital art and then sell it to others, who then sell it to others in a higher price. Doesn't it seem a pyramid scheme to you? Is it just me?
You might wanna read a bit more about pyramid schemes and how they work. Using your logic, everything is pyramid scheme if you buy it with an intention to resell at the higher price, which is not true of course. Indeed, you are describing the Greater Fool Theory, not a ponzi scheme. There's a pretty huge difference between the two. I doubt we'll see a NFT Board here anytime soon. I think the closet thing Bitcoin has to NFTs are those created on the Namecoin blockchain which is merged mined by ~80% of Bitcoin miners. I don't think coins capable of merged mining with Bitcoin are eligible for discussion here, but I could be wrong as merged mining a sidechain is related to Bitcoin. Personally, I'd love to see NFTs become more popular on Namecoin as they wouldn't bloat the Bitcoin blockchain and would still benefit from the hashrate security. I suspect when atomic swaps are developed further you might see Namecoin utilized for some innovative things to show just how useful merged mining can be as it has been widely overlooked and underutilized for a decade now. The rise in NFT popularity is highlighting the fact Namecoin stored the first NFTs and Dogecoin becoming popular is bringing attention to merged mined coins. There is potential there for further development of NFTs backed by Bitcoin's hashrate.

what would be the next step to get a subforum for the lightning network?
Convince theymos to add a Lightning Network subforum. There's really nothing else to it. I am a bit surprised this hasn't already happened considering all of the drama that went around censoring the blocksize debate. If this is the scaling solution that our Bitcoin leaders have laid out for us (not a good one btw), you'd think there would be a place to learn about it. Maybe some sticky threads about how to setup a node or what software/hardware options are available. Even if I was interested in developing on the Lightning Network, there is very little help available here. My question is, if there is no place here to discuss development on the Lightning Network, where is the place to discuss it?
