7821  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin for transatlantic flights - safe? on: March 11, 2016, 04:08:12 AM
I like the concept of paying with bitcoin but two things pop up for me. One being that you are connecting a address to you physically. Not a issue for some but defeats the Anon factor.
Second would be explaining bitcoin in a secondary search. "How did you pay for this ticket?"
"Did you purchase this yourself?"..."Whats this bitcoin"!

Less I need to potentially explain the better. If you think its not a big deal, would argue you have never had the arm of the law twisting words.

Thanks.  You bring up some interesting points.  Anonymity isn't a major concern of mine; I'm of the opinion that few really care who I am anyway (although I have avoided using Facebook, Twitter etc. since I do enjoy a modicum of privacy).  I haven't had to go through a secondary search or even deal with the arm of the law other than a for a couple of minor traffic infractions so I'm inexperienced on that front.

Thanks for the reply.  From what I have already read, cheapair.com has customer service via telephone but there are extremely long waits and people are getting cut off.
What I'm really interested in is hearing from people who have actually used bitcoin to purchase flights to Europe from North America, what company they used and if they were satisfied.
Air LOT (Polish airline) accepts bitcoin now and I will use this if I get no other information as with them I have no worries about getting my tickets.  I prefer to use KLM, Lufthansa, Air France and British Airways(only because Heathrow is a pain-in-the ass airport w.r.t to security delays); in that order but I need a reliable agent that accepts bitcoin.
7823  Economy / Marketplace / Bitcoin for transatlantic flights - safe? on: March 11, 2016, 12:17:16 AM
I've looked at btctrip.com and cheapair.com for flights from North America to Europe but I don't get a good feeling about using them.
I mean btctrip.com has a testimonial from Satoshi - now this may be tongue in cheek but it doesn't do much for my confidence transacting with them; it reeks of scam when I see "testimonials".  Also, I have read some bad reviews about customer service from cheapair.com but their "testimonial" page oozes unicorns and rainbows.  I would really like to use bitcoin for airfare and not be left in limbo when I get to the airport.  Does anyone have any experience/recommendations in this regard?  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
7824  Other / Off-topic / Re: Fuck sakes, my 78 yr old dad fell for the biggest scam evar -NEW Update TODAY! on: March 10, 2016, 11:55:51 PM
Actually, $600 CAD is a pretty cheap education.  I think my niece paid $10k CAD for her first year of university in Canada - that might have included a residence fee though... not sure.
My parents are the same when it comes to computers, they try to learn but it's totally foreign to them.  If I happen to be angry about it when something happens, I do my best not to show it because if you curse and stomp around, they're not going to call you and ask you for help when they need it.  You are essentially setting the stage for a recurrence by way of your actions.  Calm the fuck down.  If you live in Canada, $600 is SFA.

Edit: Set them up a couple of accounts on rollluptherim; maybe they can win it back from Timmy's.

This board has gone for a shit.  Its only about faucets and gambling anymore.
7826  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Awesome Bitcoin Addresses !! on: March 07, 2016, 06:18:57 PM
I would like to point out that all Bitcoin addresses are unique.  Imagine the ensuing chaos if they were not.

ie. this address: 1GANGPLanKRmMs21v7vEDq8caFBWNezZU7 and this address: 18tpKtxZkW6uLixo512CWrVKqgKfyqMCwu
are both unique.

Do you pay for your electricity usage or is it included in your rent?

7829  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Kicking Myself I Didn't Invest More In Ethereum on: March 05, 2016, 01:33:55 PM
Anyone else kicking themselves they didn't invest more of their hard earned fiat/bitcoins into Ethereum when they were $0.50?

After repeated IPO scams, I was skeptical about Ethereum and did not invest last year.

before one word was uttered about ETH anywhere.. blocks of coins were moving from the IPO
aprox a Million dollars worth.

you guys think your smart ?

Tell me then what does that tell you ?

@Stoat
Your a noob / dummy account shilltard (prob user tokeweed)
you hang our harping on ETH trying to appeal to teens wanting profits.
Your like a drug dealer selling to kids.. i have no respect for you coward hiding behind a dummy account.

You also have never maned up and addressed any concerns that are brought up..
You simply post more fluff.. comments with no real substance.. garbage posts. (this your MO)

A perfect example ?
After my last comment on this topic.. you said i was jealous "sour grapes"
Did you think that was a smart retort ?
Did you think it will be effective to dismiss what i said ?
AND.. DID you think you made that one up ?
LOL i should do a little highlight reel showing how many scam coin pushers accused me of being jealous.
uhhmm it's been a LOOOOT
You shitcoin'ers have a simple play book with your usual classic go to retorts.
And guess what ?
None of them have ever worked before so uhhh get it ?

@Stoat, your a little fucking coward hiding your shitcoin skeletons in your closet.
Using a dummy account here to advertise and hype up ETH as much as you can.
If i had access to your history here you would be fucked and YOU know it Wink

HIDE COWARD.

You're such an idiot.

That is all

He may be callous, disagreeable and occasionally offensive but he is no idiot.

What exactly do you agree with?  At first I thought you meant patronizing Shorena but then you say you'll do it for free?
I agree that legendary member Shorena is a. cheaper and b. sounds much more reliable.

It's just fun Smiley

Well,  in fact, nobody said Shorena was cheaper.  As for the fun part, what happens when you're running a 24/7 operation tying up one computer and all your "free" time?.  It will no longer be fun but you'll be stuck making free addresses so as not to risk a negative rep!  It's a slippery slope offering free services. Wink
7831  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Kicking Myself I Didn't Invest More In Ethereum on: March 04, 2016, 09:23:38 PM
You could say the same thing about any of another 200 altcoins out there but you probably would have lost your shirt.  You could have shorted many other the other alts and achieved the same end result.  Why not dream about that too?

This thread is just meant to be a bit of lighthearted fun. Don't take everything so seriously.

Kicking one's self doesn't seem like light-hearted fun to me but I'll try to fit in.  I'm kicking myself for not running for president of the USA this year given the challengers! Lol

7833  Economy / Services / Re: Vanity Address on: March 04, 2016, 06:38:15 PM
Shorena is already offering such a service, for a pretty reasonable rate too. I don't think anyone will choose a newbie over a legendary member patronized by nearly everyone
I agree. Although it's nice to see he does it in a secure way, 4 digit addresses are barely worth anything. It took me 3 seconds to generate Address: 1CAT5XoxNBaSuTp9NT3JW1Z3DJ9nbD4qSe, and that's on CPU only.

I recently found addresses starting with 1Larceny, 1History, 1EUREKAS, 1Pistons, 1cheques and the hardest one to find: 1Lacerate. Those are a lot harder to find, if you could offer 6 digits for 0.9 mBTC I think there may be a market for it.

If I ever get my Nvidia to join the search, I may set it up for free.

What exactly do you agree with?  At first I thought you meant patronizing Shorena but then you say you'll do it for free?  It's not possible as your time and electricity are worth money.  Do you mean you will charge only your cost or are you going to operate at a loss just to put Newbie out of business?  That's downright meant (edit: mean even).

7834  Economy / Services / Re: Vanity Address on: March 04, 2016, 06:18:30 PM
Do you send the address first, do we send the money first or are planning to use an escrow service?  There might be some trust issues.

Guys

What would you think if bitcoin is the only currency in da world?

I would think "Damn! These sig campaigns are irritating!  They're everywhere and it's causing sig burn-in on my screen!!  Is there no other why to make Bitcoins now that money is gone?"

 Seriously, it will never happen.
7837  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: 10 EURO Paysafecard for 7 EURO in BTC on: March 01, 2016, 01:32:19 AM
I bought it yesterday 29.2016. Btw how to add attachment (picture) to post?

I think you have to have activity of at least 30 before you can post an image.
7838  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: 10 EURO Paysafecard for 7 EURO in BTC on: March 01, 2016, 12:40:34 AM
Did you create it with this?

or is it legit?  I can't imagine anyone could trust a newbie on this one.

1KATWALSHTHECuz5DFHoNqJax6hnDbL6KN  (I can sign with it if you want)

Any vanity pubkeys category? If so, I win:

0200000000000000000000003b78ce563f89a0ed9414f5aa28ad0d96d6795f9c63

14 letters Shocked what are you searching with?

and uh... what exactly is KATWALSHTHECuz?  It's not the longest pronounceable or the longest real-word (not that I can see anyway - is it English or another language?)  Maybe a different category?

KATWALSH must pe the guy's nickname or something...

Greg Maxwell's hidden identity is revealed -> https://twitter.com/mindspillage

Ah ha!  So is Greg is making vanity addresses for his cousin Kat?  Or is "cousin Kat" actually Greg's secret identity?  Excellent detective work Wink
