The three stands in Chepauk have been under legal issues since their construction. The High Court in Madras put a stay on the use of those stands as TNCA altered with the assessment report for those stands. In fact, a criminal case was also issued against TNCA by the High Court in 2013.
The main reason for the tussle is the gymnasium of the Madras Cricket Club (MCC) adjoining the stands. In 2015, the Supreme Court ordered the demolition of parts of the stands and asked the TNCA to send out the plan to the Chennai Municipal Corporation. Though the TNCA agreed, they are yet to get the necessary permission from the state’s Heritage Committee to start the process.
This is why you will always see those stands empty during all the games that take place in the stadium.

This edition of the world cup doesn't look very exciting to me. Last time, it was 14 teams, and this time it has been reduced to 10. Out of the 10 teams, five are from the South Asian region. There is hardly any diversity. And the biggest irony is that the decision to reduce the number of participants was made after Bangladesh knocked out India and Ireland destroyed Pakistan during the 2007 CWC. Since there are no minnows, the ICC hopes that the main market (India) will remain at least till the semi-final stage. Goes against the spirit of the game. They should make a rule that India will qualify to the next stage even if they lose all the matches in the group stage.
Let me make clear that I am in Full favor of more team playing in the World Cup.
If ICCI ruling Associate members out of the World Cup tournament then there are many valid reasons, Right or Wrong we can discuss anytime. Financial is one of them and arguably comes at the top, and other reasons revolve around finance you like or not and With due respect to your opinion, there was no need of dragging India here in this discussion without offering any solution. You are accusing that ICCI decision is favoring Indian team directly or indirectly, which is ridiculous, Indian fans or India not stopping others from watching a game by any chance. There are high chances that you read some English report in English media about 2007 world cup failure and repeating the same here. This " Blaming India" game started from there if you don't know. How many Associate member's Full matches have you watched till date? 1-2 or 5 which I highly doubt. and I am talking about on TV not live from Stadium. If your answer is 0 then think again who is the real defaulter here before dragging India in this discussion.Indians love to watch cricket, and we have been watching the Indian team playing when every team used to shit on us by beating us on the ground or by their behavior. Indeed, we can't underestimate any WORLD CUP team, what happen in the future we don't have a clue. In ICC tournament, the atmosphere of it would be a great boost to grow confidence of any team. Which team will be the winner of the upcoming world cup? that doesn't matter as entertainment seeker, yet rivalry there would be must. I really want to see RCB open their count on points table because kohli is one of the best batsmen and captain so it is really worrying to see him without a win on big tournament but as far as the performance KKR have the better opportunity for today as well,if RCB want to win they need to come up with their best performance on each and every department while playing. It would be nice to see how does RCB make changes in their strategy in order to pull off today's game and start counting their point table. Their might be some changes as well in the team in order to make it more balance and make them win. I don't know why Tim Southee didn't play a single match yet he is one of the wicket taking bowler at upfront and also on the death as well,so he might play today's match if Kohli understand importance of having a strike bowler. They are struggling with team combination similar to last year and unfortunately, 4 foreign player limit not helping them as well because Tim Southee is good with the ball but not with the bat. and other foreign players are more or less contribute on both fronts. Guess they need to figure it out their opening combination first. Parthiv is set there maybe they can try Hetmyer more. if he gets going according to his reputation then he can be a very destructive opening batsman in IPL. |

Anyway, my pick is SRH and I think they will win this match very easily. Yesterday it was a bad day for CSK. It was the last over of MI and also KM Jadhav's slow batting in my opinion.
DC are 72/4 in 13 overs coin ingram and shreyas iyer are batting the max they will score is 150- and i think if their bowling wont be good then SRH will have a easy win in this match Seems like they may even end up scoring less than 140 at the moment. After 17 overs, the score is only 97 and they lost 6 wickets. SRH will have a very easy win if the score is even around 150 runs Srh need 130runs. I would like to see and India vs Australia final or Australia vs England final.
India vs Pakistan fixture is in my mind and every cricket fan, notably in ICCI mind too because this fixture alone can cover all expenses of World cup and if by any chance they both playing final against each other then ICCI will say now Lambo now Moon lol. I am still not sure that Australia going into finals. not ignoring their recent performance and capabilities, momentum is with them and there is no doubt about that but I am backing the teams with their 1-year performance. This scenario can change with only one game let's say Pakistan, Australia or any other team beating India and England in Semis. all we need is one bad day for the team and they are out from the World cup race. Pakistan will no longer be there and it's confirmed. Australia is likely to play final because their recent performance is better than any other team. In final, Australia will face India or England, or South Africa? I think India and Australia will play final, I have changed my words though. Previously I said India and England. Numbers not supporting Pakistan Team at the moment but will not rule them out completely due to only one reason. their unpredictable attitude towards the Game. This world cup going to be a tough competition because Oz team looks very competitive now which was not the case 3 months back.
