7841  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it smart to make a Bitcoin Faucet on: May 23, 2014, 10:41:04 AM
LOL. I dont think hackers would be interested in hacking the faucets, there are other big things for them to hack, and it completely your wish that if you want to open a bitcoin faucet or not. By opening one you'll just contribute to the spread of bitcoin, but i guess your faucet should payout instantly, and as the current faucets just pay out dust so your faucet should have a higher payouts than the others.
My faucet had a peerbet payout option and people loved it. Most payments were done to peerbet accounts. So that is something that a faucet owner should implement. I was the first one to do so. Still have the code laying around if someone is interested in it. For a small donation of course.
7842  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I just paid the $100K USD via BTC to become a Platinum Member of TBF. on: May 23, 2014, 10:32:33 AM
Phinnaeus Gage, you are a fucking genious for confusing me like this. I was already trying to find your TX, without success of course. Anyway, you are making a great point and I would also like to know where their transaction is. With a message stating that they are indeed in control of the sending address by signing the message with that address, of course. Roll Eyes
7843  Other / Meta / Re: Quality of English on: May 23, 2014, 10:28:24 AM
I know what you mean and it's horrible, but I don't think that you can report someone because of their shitty English. Best thing you can do is either ignore them, try your best to understand them or try to help them become better at English.
7844  Other / Archival / Re: Updated Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: May 23, 2014, 08:39:41 AM
Hello,
Thanks for including us on the list. However, the ANXPRO Signature Ad Campaign is now closed. Please remove us from the list. We will keep you posted for any updates in the future.

Thanks.

Cheers.
Alright. Will do. Thank you for telling me. I appreciate that. Wink
7845  Economy / Collectibles / Re: serpcoin DIY2 - Do It Yourself Physical Bitcoins [gold plated] [bulk pricing] on: May 23, 2014, 08:39:01 AM
Can I buy two coins? That's 0.07BTC including shipment to The Netherlands, correct? Or could you put the Silver Pin and the coins together?
7846  Economy / Goods / Re: ►฿ INTERNATIONAL GROUP BUY FOR LEALANA PHYSICAL BTC & LTC - ENDING FRI MAY 23 on: May 23, 2014, 08:24:30 AM
This is the last day. I really don't understand that people didn't buy more coins. I mean, it's a great opportunity to get some cheap with less shipping costs.
7847  Economy / Goods / Re: WTS 1g Silver Rounds - DobZombie's "The Genesis Block" on: May 23, 2014, 08:20:25 AM
SOLD OUT
Shit, did you really sell them all? Because I would have loved to have one of these.
7848  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin vs. All Other Coins, are they hurting Bitcoin? on: May 23, 2014, 07:59:47 AM
Right. That's why I don't expect great ideas to be easily or at all incorporated into Bitcoin code.
Changing mining algorithms is not necessary for Bitcoin. The network hashing power is way to big right now for a quick 51% attack. There are other ways to prevent that from happening, so why would we change the mining algo and destroy a large part of our hashing power? I believe that they will implement great idea's, just not new mining algo's.

Imagine a scenario where the biggest 3-4 easily identifiable mining pools/large mining farms are targeted by a large enough power. What happens then? The network is crippled and can't function properly or at all. This would not be possible if there were more than one independent mining algo.

How about the difficulty adjusting not every 10 days but after each block. That's another good idea. Will they implement and accept it? Probably not. If half or more of the hash rate is down for some reason, how long would it take to find blocks with such a slow adjusting difficulty?
If it needs to be changed it will be. There is no reason to change stuff when it's not needed. Getting more then 51% to agree on a small, currently irrelevant, change costs way to much effort. And even if the network gets attacked, I know that they will add something that contradicts that. I dare to bet that they already have something ready in case it goes wrong. Pushing something that might be handy is just not worth the effort it takes and how much it helps.

I mean look at the Heartbleed problem, they fixed it in no-time, pushed it to the network and everyone adapted it. It's a great example on how things would go if Bitcoins does go to shit, because of a 51% attack.

Well, I give up. I can't think of anything else that would impress a non-bitcoiners. Good luck everyone Wink
7851  Economy / Marketplace / Re: I will give you 1 BTC right now on: May 22, 2014, 10:55:46 PM
A gigabyte 990fxa mobo with CPU 4 gigs of Ram and Corsair 800 watt PSU plus 128gig SSD.
I don't think that you can buy that with 1BTC, since it sounds like a decent machine.
7852  Economy / Marketplace / Re: I will give you 1 BTC right now on: May 22, 2014, 10:51:00 PM
Quote huge markup over the $2-per-kilogram cost of the plastic pellets used to make the filaments You will pay over 5$ per piece you make unless they are very small, you may be able to sell them especially if you buy the gold material and make bitcoins etc but you can't afford to give these away free especially if you can't afford the 200$ printer. "ink cost more then the printer"
It's not about the money anyway. It's about giving back to the community. Wink

Anyway, I am kinda out of idea's. I tried my best OP, but damn. It's harder then I expected. I mean, I would kill for some of those Bitcoin collectibles, but non-bitcoiners would see it as junk, I suppose. Even though some coins are extremely pretty. Like the Cold Hard Cash one from NewLiberty. Grin
7853  Economy / Marketplace / Re: I will give you 1 BTC right now on: May 22, 2014, 10:47:53 PM
I'm one of the early donators to Sean's... this is not about charity tho Smiley And I am only going to spend 1 BTC (no more, no less).

18 minutes remaining!
Pffff, non-bitcoiners are hard to impress, so it has to pack some punch. Buy them a Wasabi lollypop, that should do the trick. Jokes aside, it's quite hard to think of something so amazing that it would blow a non-bitcoiners brain. You can buy games with Bitcoins. Humble Bundle, Steam Games, doesn't matter. You can pay your subscription on OKCupid with Bitcoin. You could also fly into space, if you had more then 1BTC. You don't, I know, but it's still awesome.
7854  Economy / Marketplace / Re: I will give you 1 BTC right now on: May 22, 2014, 10:40:25 PM
You could donate to Seans Outpost, which helps homeless people. Buy some precious metals using Bitcoins? You could even buy a car or a house with Bitcoins if you have enough. Goat bought his car with Bitcoins Grin
7855  Economy / Marketplace / Re: I will give you 1 BTC right now on: May 22, 2014, 10:34:16 PM
I don't think you will be giving them away, check how much the materials for those printers cost.
A printer costs around 100-200 bucks. Which leaves 400-300 bucks for materials. Should be enough to print a lot of Bitcoin related items to give away. I would simply take pictures of me doing it as proof that it's possible Tongue

Hey.

Faucet is probably off the table this time. Remember, I need to purchase something that will impress non-bitcoiners >)

36 minutes left. Come one people, 1 BTC guaranteed.
So, it has to be something Bitcoiny, that can impress non-bitcoiners? Buy a gun and pay with Bitcoins? Buy a flight ticket? Buy food with Bitcoins? Show them how quickly you can send Bitcoins around the world?

EDIT: Go to a place that accepts Bitcoin, pay for their drinks and be sure to make them drunk. They will love Bitcoin after that.

Zal eens voor je kijken, momentje. Wink

EDIT: Bij mij neemt de app maar 11,07MB in beslag. Ik heb een Android by the way.
7857  Local / Nederlands (Dutch) / Re: I never had a girlfriend will BTC OR LTC BE IT ? on: May 22, 2014, 10:27:18 PM
7858  Economy / Marketplace / Re: I will give you 1 BTC right now on: May 22, 2014, 10:18:16 PM
If you gifted that 1BTC to me, I will be using it to re-open my old faucet. I loved doing it, but I just couldn't keep it running. The ad revenue was to low to pay for the amount of visitors on my website. I kept paying it out of my own pocket, but in the end, you just can't keep it running that way.

With the rest I might just buy a very small and basic 3D printer. Always wanted to have one of those. I mean, how cool would it be to be able to print your own Bitcoin badges and collectibles. I would, most likely, give them away as a present or to create awareness. Grin
7859  Economy / Services / Re: WE PAY FOR SIGNATURE EVEN MORE. UP TO 0.0016 BTCs PER POST. WEEKLY PAYOUTS. on: May 22, 2014, 09:56:24 PM
I suspect that this person is wuqing78. Me and ranlo were talking about that guy, because he had an unusual high amount of posts. Mostly in the Chinese subsection. Click to ranlo and me talking about it. I wouldn't know any other person who could be this mad at ranlo. Seems like a solid and legit poster to me, but oh well. I might be wrong.

Is there a thread I can read up on how this this trust system works? I probably should be demoted to Jr. status for asking this  Tongue, but all these little rules are new, relative to how long I've been on this forum.
Those people are on the DefaultTrust list. If you want more information about that, just send me a PM and we shall continue there Wink
7860  Economy / Services / Re: WE PAY FOR SIGNATURE EVEN MORE. UP TO 0.0016 BTCs PER POST. WEEKLY PAYOUTS. on: May 22, 2014, 09:19:01 PM
0.04 btc received! I also posted trust feedback in your profile.

PS- why is my feedback for him one of the two that fall under "trusted feedback", when most other feedback are under "untrusted feedback"? I never understood how this works.
You are always in the trusted list, because, well, you trust yourself right? I see myself on the trusted feedback part as well, but I know that others won't see it that way. Wink

@TigerMart, why are you doing this? Also, no need to use a huge ass font size. Aaaand, upping a topic is allowed, it might not be constructive, but OP could just decrease his post count by one. I have talked with ranlo (and saw ranlo) quite a few times on the forums and most of the stuff he posts is legit and decent.
