No @YOSHIE although thanks for trying to help. I'm looking for stats on how many users past and present have registered on bitcointalk. I can get percentage of user actively visiting from elsewhere  but I believe BT is more user friendly as I can speak to admin of forum unlike other platforms that's why I'm asking if it'll be possible to get the stats for an article I'm writing.

If this won't be possible then I will just use the % from alexa
7862  Economy / Reputation / Re: When leaving trust for known Alt's of other users on: January 26, 2019, 07:43:52 AM
Literally you won't get tagged until you are cheating same campaigns with multiple accounts.

What's the source of this information before you mislead someone into doing this and end up getting all account red tagged. From what I read theymos only meant for opinions that users don't want associated with their main account. Participating in different campaign with alt account isn't that abuse of the system since you're taking advantage of alt account and can possible lead to spamming the forum just to meet up posts counts?
7863  Other / Meta / Re: I need information on data on: January 26, 2019, 07:12:30 AM

Like I said I need it to back up other information I have gotten and still researching on more. I already have the localbitcoin stats and google search too. Before you create an account on bitcointalk you must have had some interest in blockchain related projects be it for bounty or learning about the technology. that's why I need the stats. there is a part of the article based on Africans in crypto related forums and I believe bitcointalk has to be the number place to look at. I know i can't get all Africans data so I'm interested in some selected nations like Nigeria, South Africa, Uganda and Kanye. I also plan on getting a premium account on Alexa as AdolfinWolf had earlier suggestions to get other stats based on % from other crypto related forums like steemit and some popular exchange too.
7864  Other / Meta / Re: “No one reads Meta anyway.” on: January 26, 2019, 06:05:13 AM
That's the reason why some members motivated to do posting constructive replies/post here and hoping to single merit to receive. (including me Cheesy).

But should that be the case?  Should one make quality post or do something great for the forum just because s/he wants to receive merits? I guess no.  This merit motivation is what's resulting to multiple threads on already discussed matters and low quality topics on meta just to seek attention. If only we can learn to do some selfless act like Vod, DdmrDdnr and LoyceV does only then will the forum achieve greatness and regain her pass glory.

We should learn to make quality post because the forum and her users needs it, not for our selfish reasons of wanting merits to rank up.
7865  Other / Meta / Re: “No one reads Meta anyway.” on: January 26, 2019, 04:52:30 AM
Don't forget merit played a huge part in this.  Lets give it sometime lets not jump into conclusions. Some of those new first timers on meta are actually looking for merit and from this post
He said i post or comment some ideas on Meta section because people who gave merits are here and i will most probably get one if i post here.

The title of that topic was "Post in Meta Section They Say, You will have merits they say" so that's how most of them are thinking and possibly when they get the merit they were searching for off to the alternative currency board or bitcoin discussion board to continue their spamming just to earn post count.

Anyway, their presence have added more creative suggestion and disscussion to the board. So lets just hope it last.
7866  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Try to post image on: January 25, 2019, 09:02:38 PM
thank u for help, but how to grab 1 merrit?

By posting quality posts that will add value to either the forum or her users. Could be informative, educational or entertaining post.  Hint, don't beg for merit or you'll get your account red tagged.

Note: If you stay weeks/months on forum without getting any merit and you feel you have been posting quality posts but must have been missed by meriters or merit sources  you can participate in Giveaways threads to earn some merits
7867  Economy / Reputation / Re: When leaving trust for known Alt's of other users on: January 25, 2019, 08:46:58 PM
No feedback at all: if I see a known Alt account I won't tagged that user until the users does something fishy. I remember reading somewhere theymos said a user is free to create an alt account to drop a reply he/she doesn't want to be associated with his main account e.g political opinions. so giving that Alt account a neutral tag letting everyone know it's an alt account would had unmask that user and maybe put his life in danger.

I see no crime in having alt account until it's used for something evil/fishy then I will red tag.

One of the legitimate reason users create Alt account is because they can't afford 50+ BTC to have the privilege to change username.  I would love to change my username to something more unique and shorter but the best option now is to create an alt account but I'm scare not to get red tagged for owning one that's why I'm still using this account.
7868  Other / Meta / I need information on data on: January 25, 2019, 06:25:05 PM
I'm about writing an article on blockchain development and its user base in Africa and I need some data information from forum to back it up withother information I'm gathering kit forum. I know the geographical location of users can be determined by their IP addresses so I'm requesting for number of registered bitcointalk account users from Africa both active and achieved. Can I get this information easily or do i need some kind of permit or something?
7869  Economy / Reputation / Re: My philosophy to entrust and ~distrust members on: January 25, 2019, 05:36:21 PM
You made some valid point here and great advice too.  since the introduction of the new DT members the way things have been going regarding leaving negative feedbacks not just by the DT members but other forum user too, one may think theymos will bring out an official guidelines clearing things up on what offends are worth leaving negative feedback but again I have been earlier informed that the possible reasons theymos haven't given an official guidelines could be he wants it to be a more community oriented decision. If that's the case then it's left for us to sort things out ourselves.
7870  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: January 25, 2019, 02:58:04 PM

Cheers for replies guys! I'd give you both some merit if I had some to give, lol. No worries about the price hike, I'd rather earn it than pay for it anyway. Happy merit anniversary!

It's the week of merit (anniversary) so was thinking of meriting you +1 but after I went through your post history and notice you have been bumping your announcement thread with almost look alike replies I got discourage although your last reply was average but me meriting it will just be encouraging you to spam more with the privilege of adding image. Clean up your account and only post when necessary not just for bumping and add a little quality to your posts then you'll get one from me.

Required merit is too too much. I have been a "hero member" for a long time now but because of the 500+ merit requirement I can't seem to get anywhere near that level. Its almost impossible to reach to 500+ merit. I think it should be lowered by a lot.

If you ask me, the jnr and member rank, needs more adjustment the rest are just OK. something like this.

Jnr = 10
Member= 50

I don't mind theymos increasing other ranks too.  Bitcoin is going nowhere anytime soon so is the forum. we'll surely get to those ranks we admire if we post right and have patience. Is better to be slow and sure then to be fast and fall (red tagged)
7871  Economy / Reputation / Re: Unfairly painted a trust on: January 25, 2019, 12:23:01 PM

I am exchanging my own merits with people who helps me and I can do with them ANYTHING I WANT!

This is wrong. Merit aren't meant to be exchange between users, sure you can send a user that merited you merits for a quality post he made (backscratching) but sending him/her merit for low quality posts just because he/she merited you can be considered as merit abuse which is frown at my DT members. You're free to give merit to who ever you want but  that shouldn't mean you should abuse the system.

Merits are to be given to quality posts not exchange for worthless posts
7872  Other / Serious discussion / Disscussion: Innovation(technology) that changed the world. on: January 25, 2019, 04:27:39 AM
Few days back I was having a discussion that turned into a debate with my peers.  We were arguing on the innovations that changed our planet as we have today. Some suggested improvements on healthcare others suggested, improvement on transportation (faster transportations)etc but the three suggestions that was gaining ground were electricity, radio frequency and the internet. The debate didn't come to a conclusion to produce a winner because we all got exaulted  and decided to call it a day.  I have decided to seek the suggestions of the ivory tower users because this is a very serious disscussion. So what do you guys think,  which technology (innovation) changed our world the most?
7873  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Infographic]: Guide on possible reasons to leave a -ve/+ve trust feedbacks. on: January 24, 2019, 07:06:07 PM
Here is a reply from someone who has been in the trust system for a very long time and currently a DT member. You can visit my thread on the reputation board for more clarification

No offends guys but I haven't be clarified my questions haven't been answered. If you say an account used for collateral should be tagged for account farming when should the red tag be given? After lone default (to prevent account selling) or immediately it's offered as collateral   and should all accounts involved be tagged for account farming?
Both the lender and the user should be immediately tagged.
7874  Other / Politics & Society / Re: China moon on: January 24, 2019, 06:23:40 PM
No body has been to the moon my friend.

On december 1972, during NASA's Apollo 17 mission to space, Astronauts visited the moon but since then nobody not ever highly funded private companies like SpaceX  has replicated that visit to the moon.
7875  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Another win for the merit system. Thank you LoyceV on: January 24, 2019, 05:30:17 PM
Congratulations!  Smiley
I can't wait myself to get to Sr. member now. It is really a great feeling when you rank up earning all the required Merits by your efforts.

Thanks mate and happy merit day 😂
I too can't wait to rank up to higher ranks  I know it'll be a real challenge to get to legendary but my hopes are high so I'll be moving step by step. Next target snr member  hopefully before 2019 ends.

Why not leave it here some days? I don't think that Meta board is the place for first come first served one.
If topics are helpful, and meaningful, they should be there. Maybe I am wrong, not sure about this.

You're correct beside yours looks more informative. About the merit guides, I did a thread on a simple advice I got back then and it's still guiding me today already helped me rank up to full member. the thread was titled Stop searching for merits and you will received them.- see Smerit as liabilities I believe it still has some information to pass to the new comers.
7878  Other / Meta / Re: One year anniversary of merit system on: January 24, 2019, 03:43:23 PM
The list of thread givingaway merit is outdated here is a more current thread titled Updated [20/01/2019]: List of Active Merit Giveaways threads. it even has jet cash's video challenge titled "My 25 sMerit offer for a single post" also you should consider moving this thread to another board (off-topic)  since we already have an anniversary thread on meta.
7879  Other / Meta / Re: Negative trust for bad posting. on: January 24, 2019, 02:43:35 PM
This can be consider as abuse of the trust system. I know your intentions were clear but getting a red tag can discourage user from forum. Instead a pm directing user to rules of forum will be great and reporting post as others have suggested.
7880  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: January 24, 2019, 02:34:32 PM
How much merit is required for images to show in one's posts? We posted over 200 posts in our thread (1 per day) and our images still don't show.

Post countes doesn't determine you been able to include images in post.  You need just one merit to rank up to jnr member. or you can buy a copper membership and you'll be able to include images in your post.

Today will be a great day to earn that merit if you post right.  Happy merit anniversary
