Please ban Newbie account AffsApp for spamming different board with the same topic [copy and paste]. The site he's promoting looks suspicious (possible theft of identity)
7862  Other / Meta / Re: Attention Theymos: This is a sMerit holdup! Hands in the air! on: January 29, 2019, 10:58:00 AM
@TalkStar, nguyet91btc is a copy and paste offender and he'll be be getting banned soon. What must lower rank user don't understand is,  each time they show some interest in begging for merit they espose their account to intends investigation and their wrong doings will be expose for moderators to handle. Actually I won't ask them to stop because they make the busting much more easier. You beg for merit, you invite your account for investigation and you get the reward you deserve (Ban for breaking forum rules or merit for quality posting).

7864  Economy / Reputation / Re: Evidence that 'efxtrader' account changed hands and is now a typical shitposter. on: January 29, 2019, 08:29:35 AM

He continues to post in Indonesian up until March 26, 2018, and after a gap of a few days he starts writing in English again on April 7, 2018--only this time, the quality of English has turned from eloquent into something that should look familiar to those of us who fight against shitposting:

Adding some more evidence, the password to efxtrader account was changed also in March (4th March, 2018) and we all know change of password mostly occurs when accounts change hands. There was no post made for 5days after the password was changed this could had been a strategy to avoid detention of account change of hands and continued posting in Indonesian for some weeks to also avoid detention before he decided to join a signature campaign (21st March, 2018) and started posting in english again.

7865  Other / Meta / Re: Daily quiz on: January 29, 2019, 07:55:17 AM
There are some suggestions that'll cause more harm than good and aren't that necessary. Asking the forum to implement a daily quiz will just be adding more work load to the forum because it'll need moderation and the mod already got their hands full.  Beside if you need users to participate in the Q&A they need motivation and since you said there's no merit reward I don't think it'll have any success effect.
7866  Other / Politics & Society / Does Trump really need to change his looks, to be taken seriously?. on: January 29, 2019, 05:34:30 AM
Appearance they say commands respect. Trumps current appearance looks somehow childish to many individuals some say he looks like a joke maybe that's why he gets disrespectful more often. if he takes on a new look then he might start getting the respect he deserve because he'll look more serious . Although alot of work still needs to be done towards he's tweeting habits and maybe a more organise speech instead of saying the first thing that comes out of his mouth always.

Trump A or Trump B which one will you consider giving respect to based on appearance?

7867  Other / Meta / Re: Account security improvement: e-mail confirmation to change password and mail on: January 29, 2019, 05:06:18 AM
This email issue and 2FA security sittings have been discuss numerous times and he's an official statement from theymos on the issue.
From what I understand view this quote below although I haven't been hacked before so don't know how effective it's
I added email notifications for some security events:

Whenever your password is changed (except by an administrator), you will get an email about it.

Whenever your email is changed (except by an administrator), your old email will get an email about it with a link to lock your account. The link is valid for 14 days.

Let me know if you find any bugs.

Then few hours later this user confirmed the system is working just fine.
Whenever your password is changed (except by an administrator), you will get an email about it.

Verified , no problem, email received if password is changed.

+logout
+login to test changed password
= no problem.

+forgot password link
+email received to reset password
+change password
= no problem.
7868  Other / Serious discussion / Re: A Bullying experiment on: January 28, 2019, 10:24:39 PM
This happens mostly in big city in developed countries where the value of the society have been lost.  Depict what's going on around them they tend to take pictures and videos so they have the best gists to share on social media to earn digital friends instead of helping victims in need. In my city where I reside, this hardly happen.
7869  Other / Meta / Re: bitmover Merit Source Application - and thoughts on Brazilian Bitcoin Community on: January 28, 2019, 07:52:51 PM
I @cryptopreneurBrainboss endorse @bitmover. I believe he's worth/deserve to be a merit source. Theymos when appointing new merit source bitmover should be consider he's application (quoted posts)  are merit worthy and his application has been active for over 7months now still he didn't give up hope. He should be given a chance to assist the other merit sources highlight quality post through meriting them.
7870  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I am new here, how to know good project to invest? on: January 28, 2019, 03:57:03 PM
It is not a good time to invest now...Invest only in TOP-10 or wait for new hype.

I disagree, a good investors knows it's during the dip (bear market) opportunities are created due to the ability to buy-in great project at lower prices. They don't just buy into hypes.

Also don't just invest in projects because they have higher  market capitalization remember there was a time bitconnect was in either top10 or top15. Beside more money are made when you invest in good project with low market capitalization just do your research and with luck you'll find one.
7871  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I am new here, how to know good project to invest? on: January 28, 2019, 03:19:19 PM
If you're looking for advice on project to invest in, you're doing it all wrong because the only suggestions you'll be getting from others is to invest in their favorite projects. Just do your own research and set some criteria a project must meet before you can invest in them. e.g I don't invest in any project that doesn't solve a existing problem.

BTW: there always will be better altcoins but only one bitcoin (limited). So make sure you own some bitcoin.
7872  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I just thought about sharing this, learn to take advice on: January 28, 2019, 03:15:13 PM
A merited post is just a post that is worth reading.

So who should determine if that post is worth reading, the meriter or the general public? Because I can merit a post  which I feel it's worth reading but the forum users might have different opinions and it'll be consider as merit abuse
7873  Other / Meta / Re: Signature advertisers: suggestions? on: January 28, 2019, 02:56:24 PM
<***>

What I have come to realize is that both my suggestion, this suggestion and others above can't totally solve the signature ads Issue. People will always look for away to cheat the system especially those trying to make a living (in forum) from 3rd world countries. If theymos can't find a solution anytime soon, the signature privilege should be removed totally so we can see those truly here to learn
7874  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Guide]: How to disable signatures without using scripts on: January 28, 2019, 09:30:23 AM
@OP
And what about user signature after checking this feature? Will user will be able to use own signature? If able to use will others will be able to see it.
I will like to know the result of all these possibilities.

Yes you'll still have the privilege of wearing signature if your rank is above newbie. Also I believe others will still be able to see your signature. The sitting is just for your profile alone it doesn't affect others  so it'll only disable you from seeing others signature. Currently I have the hide signature feature enable so if you can see my signature it means when you enable yours, you won't see others signatures but they'll see yours.
7875  Other / Meta / Re: “No one reads Meta anyway.” on: January 28, 2019, 02:53:40 AM
The posting-for-merits has died down considerably in Meta since September,

They must have gotten discourage that's why. Normally newbie has that feeling "if I just post some decent posts on meta I will get merited" but what they fail to realize is that the criteria to get merited is higher on meta then most other board minus the technical Disscussion board. Guess many of them learned that the hard way.and some turned to copper membership for rescue that's why the numbers reduce drastically.
7876  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Guide]: How to disable signatures without using scripts on: January 28, 2019, 02:36:45 AM
But if you don't like signatures ads in general and you want to block them all, the forum has a solution.

@bitmover Ihat's why I have to make it clear in my OP,  I know there are few people who don't like seeing signature campaigns so I'm letting them know the forum has a solution for me.

Although signatures don't totally portal a poster rightly. for example I know of some users wearing a paid signature campaign when they aren't accepted in the campaign, other possible using bought accounts just to get paid.  Also some few decent posters settle down for altcoin bounty which they believe in or part of the company.
7877  Other / Beginners & Help / [Guide]: How to disable signatures without using scripts on: January 27, 2019, 08:28:27 PM
Signatures take up space and many members have been discourage from visting some boards like (Bitcoin/Altcoin discussion) so they won't have to see all those spammy signature ads.
I see many thread on using scripts (Adblock) to disable signatures although some scripts have some special features like blocking only signatures related to icos etc. But if you don't like signatures ads in general and you want to block them all, the forum has a solution.

This information isn't a new one [although most new users don't know about it), it has been on the forum for quite some time now but due to the fact most users don't take time to browser through their profile sittings must have cause them to miss it.

Step [1]: Click on profile (we all know where we can find this).

Step [2]: Click on the "Look and Layout Preferences" setting as seen in the image below. (This section allows you to customize the look and layout of the forum)

Step [3]: Tick the "Don't show users' signatures" box as seen in the image above.

Step [4]: Finally, click change profile (buttom right of your screen) to save your current profile settings.

Preview: This is how your screen will look like after following the steps above.

7878  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't let those spelling mistakes & poor grammar turn your post into a shitpost. on: January 27, 2019, 04:59:15 PM
Perhaps, you are the one misunderstanding the whole point of this post, check yourself before you just conclude randomly.

Again you're misunderstanding my replies. I give you credits for trying to help (check the very first reply on thread) all I'm saying is,  you aren't the first user who has seen this problem and tried to solve it. In fact like I said earlier, jet cash dedicated his time to solving this same issue, he even created a forum just for them but no they didn't show interest. The issue isn't writing topic on how to resolve their bad english problem but are they willing to learn? because anyone willing to improve their english has the whole web to assist them.
7879  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is trump the problem or is the media just hating on him on: January 27, 2019, 04:04:30 PM
The media doesn't hate Trump. They are simply out there to make money. And they have decided that there is more money to be made by appearing to hate him.

Cool

This is rather simplistic. It started out as being for profit, then it shifted into a motive to cover for their sugar daddies, then it became complicity, now they are in cover their ass mode.

Very true, it has gone above just for business profit, it's now getting personally as the days go by.
7880  Other / Off-topic / Re: Ten merit to give for newbies and Juniors. on: January 27, 2019, 01:59:05 PM
This is NOT a giveaway thread: Read Below
<***>
If you think there is something wrong with this topic, don't hesitate to post your observations here and i will make the necessary edit if needed.

Edit OP,  "this isn't your regular giveaway thread" will be more appropriate to use because it's still a giveaway. You are asking for link to give merit to deserving post so it's a giveaway thread but you just have strick rules (which is a good one).

Giveaways threads aren't meant for searching(begging) for merit but to hightlight a post (through link) you feel deserve some merit.

Thread added to UPDATED [27/01/2019]: List of Active Merit Giveaways threads.
