The forum isn't going to start from 0 posts and with all members being newbies starting from the bottom again. Everything will be exported and imported into the new forum software. Anything else wouldn't make much sense. That wouldn't be the first time Satoshi's forum moves, and its name was also not Bitcointalk when it was created.

Great idea! I think you can use Rikafip's monthly analysis as a starting point to see which members are active in which local boards. By looking at the names and comparing the stats month by month, you should be able to notice those that stand out in terms of local board activity. After that, see if any of those names are familiar to you and if you can trust them to point you towards posts in their local that deserve more merits. Start out from the boards that are at the bottom when it comes to receiving and sending merits. 

You know very well that's not the same thing
You have more than 1000 sMerits because you are a merit source and your monthly allocation is probably a few hundreds source merits. It takes you a long time to empty that bag and get to your personal sMerits. That's because you have so much, not because you aren't giving it out regularly. You are also the most merited member on the forum, which keeps the stash always high. Not to mention the fact that you are part human and part alien tech posting miracle.  

True, but unless things change, we are stuck to having to receive 2 merits to be able to have 1 sMerit to give out. Everyone should chip in to keep the engine rolling. 

I tried to access your new sports betting service and the site only loads on Mozilla Firefox. On Chrome, I only see a star that keeps making its circles and nothing happens. You might want to check why that is.

Regarding the design.
I think it's hard to find the league you are looking for. The site's search function doesn't work and for some reason CTRL+F can't be used to enable the in-browser search.

I was trying to check the offer for Dutch soccer matches. I couldn't find it among the events after clicking on soccer. I was trying to find a list of all countries or leagues, and only then did I realize that I have to click on the appropriate sport button on the top. That allows me to browse the different leagues.

I found the match I was interested in and you have a very good offer of various markets and events. Keep it up!

And even more users should get involved. I still come across members who insist on hoarding and not distributing merits to others. I found a merit-worthy post a few hours ago. I did my usual check to see if that member gives out merits, and I discovered that he has received over 80 merits, but he hasn't sent a single one! I didn't give him anything after that.

I suggested recently that we could remind those who don't give out merits that the system wasn't created for people to only be on the receiving end. If other users stopped giving merits to such users, I am sure some of them would change their behavior. What I am suggesting might be controversial, but let's compare the forum to an island with limited resources. Every time someone says or does something the community likes, the other inhabitants award that person with a piece of that limited resource. The only problem is that two inhabitants keep getting their share of the rewards, but they never give anyone else the same even if they could. The resource becomes rarer and rarer while two pricks keep bags of it in their cellar. Do you think the community should keep rewarding them even if their contributions deserve it if the resource will never again enter the economy? I would say no.   

Most people don't care about putting a capital letter at the beginning of their sentences or finishing them with a full stop. But still, some might find it interesting to know the difference.

I think it's similar to Bitcoin. The capital letter refers to the technology. I would have to look up what a non-capitalized letter in 'internet' means though. Most people wont care about that either anyways  

Those that are free are very rare. But some still do that. Five or six crypto casinos pay the network fees instead of their players.

On a different note. It seems that certain ad blockers are blocking some names in my table. I have just realized that AdGuard doesn't allow Sportsbet.io to be displayed in my OP. That messes up the formatting a little bit. If you notice something like that, try to disable your ad blocker temporarily and reload the site. That should fix it.

The last cached version where he was still wearing his signature is from 3 May 2020. The thread you linked to came out in October 2020. So, somewhere in between May and October, he removed his signature. If he received a signature ban, his signature space would show a ban message and the date when the ban expires, unless the mods have a way to ban someone from displaying signatures without the standard notification. 

I came across a thread that had a post by the user Velkro, and I was surprised when I saw that his signature was missing. This user has been wearing a fake Bitcoin vanity address generator for years, but now it's gone.

I initially thought that he was banned because his last post was back in February, but BPIP shows no records that he was perma banned. It's possible he took it off himself, but somehow I doubt it. And why would he after such a long time?

I know that the admins don't moderate scams, but signatures by spammers (spamming signature campaigns) have been banned in the past. Did the admins finally make an exception and blocked his signature?

That's correct. Sine the private key is the same for both legacy, nested segwit, and native segwit addresses, you need to specify the correct prefix for the software to know which address and wallet it's supposed to recover.

If you just import the private key as "5Kbss8....", Electrum will recover a wallet with a legacy address.
If you add the prefix "P2WPKH" before the address to make it "P2WPKH:5Kbss8..." Electrum will recover a wallet with a Bech32 address.
Similar to that, the "P2WPKH-P2SH" prefix should be used for nested segwit addresses.

I have heard about MintDice but I missed their ANN because it hasn't seen any activity since January so it fell behind quite a lot on the gambling pages. I will take a look at it.

I assume you are talking about this platform, right? Never heard of them, but I will take a look. I can see that they offer 3 games: Dice, Crash, and Blackjack.

When it comes to faucets, I have created List Of Crypto Casinos with The Best Faucets. It shows the amounts that can be claimed and the requirements for claiming.   

Pete was never offered an option to adjust the derivation path while importing the private key, so it's not that. The private key is correct, but there could be something wrong with its format. It's like the key is missing something. What does he need to do to get the software to display the correct Bech32 address?

Looking at the list of cryptocurrency exchanges, I understand that the order is not random but is based on the likes by the community. You might want to consider changing that to either an alphabetical sequence or by overall popularity. Someone could find it weird to see platforms such as StormGain or Invity (exchanges I personally have never heard of) on the first page, while some more popular names appear on the following pages.

There are also instances where the same exchange appears multiple times. You have Bitfinex twice on the first page in the "Direct Exchange" category. You have Coinbase on the 1st and 2nd page. CEX.io appears twice on the 2nd page, etc...

I really hate to see CoolWallet being named "the worlds best hardware wallet on your site". That's an expensive closed-source wallet that has serious bugs and shouldn't be even on a shortlist of Top 10 wallet, let alone be categorized as "the best".

Pete’s brother sadly passed away in a motorcycle accident. When his younger brother Sean cleaned his room and packed up his stuff, he found a note hidden in his brother’s belongings. “Bitcoin” was written on the top of the paper. The second line contained a string of letters and numbers that began with “bc1”. The last piece of info was another long sequence of numbers and letters that started with “5Kbss8….”

Pete knew his brother was interested in Bitcoin and understood that what he found must be a key to some of his brother’s assets. He learned a little about Bitcoin and understood that he would need to import the found private key in a wallet to access the coins.

Pete downloaded and installed Electrum and begun the process of inserting the private key. But when he added the private key “5Kbss8xxxxxxx…”, the software would open an empty wallet with a different address than the one written down on his brother’s note. The address, which supposedly belongs to his brother, starts with “bc1”, but Electrum only displays one beginning with “1”.


Why is that happening, and what is Pete doing wrong?

Sure, but that's why I mentioned in my previous post that hardware wallets offer a good compromise between security and convenience. Airgapped devices offer very little convenience, but a more advanced security level. You have to use USB drives or QR codes to move signed/unsigned transactions between the two setups. It's not something a newbie knows how to do, but it also takes very little time to learn for those interested in this type of technology.

Hardware and software failures can happen with hardware devices as well. Your screen can brake, the buttons can stop working, an unlucky firmware upgrade can brick your wallet, etc.

There is no list or anything, but even if there were, you wouldn't be on it. You send merits regularly depending on how many sMerits you have (obviously), and that's the way it should be. I guess you are just one of those who I have missed. If you believe you have been unfairly overlooked, don't hesitate to write down some of the posts you think deserve (more)merits in the report posts to merit sources thread. Just mention me or quote one of my posts so that I get the notification and can take a look at them. 

Andreas Antonopoulos is very knowledgeable. However, his books and lectures might be too difficult to follow for those who are just starting out. Some of it is very technical and his videos are quite long.

Instead, I would suggest something easier to digest that could be more suitable for beginners. Check out these two channels and see if you like them:
